I have used this software to help make my pathetic point and shoot camera of only 7.5 megapixels be able to take photos of like 30 megapixels and can now blow it up to a whopping 45 inch by 17 inch photo to print on canvas and hang on my wall. The only trick is you really need to get a tripod to do it. Don't listen to anyone who says you can hand hold it and use this software... it isn't possible.
I heard about stiching together photos from a regular digital camera to make huge panoramic photos and I did a little research here on SJ and found this site. Using the Free version I put 3 photos together from a recent trip to the grand canyon and make my first pano photo :)
If you don't use HDR for landscapes you are missing out - I do mostly portraits, but occassionally when I travel I shoot landscapes. This software is simply amazing. Just check it out, and it is better than the competition or photoshop for this type of imaging. I actually can't believe photoshop CS4 doesn't offer something like this built in to their software because the results are so amazing, maybe someday adobe will buy these guys out, but until then you definitely should check out this software. The only thing is you NEED to carry a tripod with you at all times or this HDR type of shooting doesn't work. But the results are so amazing it is worth it.
HDR soft produce the Photomatix plugin to allow you to make HDR images. I have used it for a couple of years and it is a top quality product. You can use it on its own or as a photoshop plugin.
Create HDR photos in the style you want, from very natural-looking to artistic or surreal.
