I was trying to pay my premium was getting no where with Ambetter my insurance through marketplace, I ask for a supervisor which was Janae Taylor, she went step by step, was very understanding and compassionate about my problem. My husband has cardiac issues and we're in the middle of procedures so I was in a Panic to get this straightened out. She was AWESOME! Kudos to Janae!' For outstanding job well done!
My first year on MHS Ambetter and trying to do my 2023 taxes, I found out that I need to have a 1095a form, which I never received via mail or email. I can't even get on the Ambetter MHS website to print the form, because it sends me to the healthcare.gov website. When I do there, it only allows my to renew my 2024 application, can't look at my current application without an ID code, which I have no clue what that is. Can't even go to a "menu" to look for my 2023 forms. Now I'm on the phone with healthcare.gov, waiting to speak with someone. Go figure that the US government has to be this flipping difficult. I unfortunately retired early and needed to obtain insurance. What a huge JOKE! I hate this marketplace, Obamacare crap!
These place is absolutely $#*!ed. I sent my tax documents 2 months ago now--certified mail and they received them! They keep sending me letters saying my coverage is going to lapse because I have not sent my documents. Try calling, which is a freaking joke---all they do is keep telling you--oh its in processing, its in processing, oh it takes a long time. I haven't had coverage in 19 years--may as well keep it that way because I can already see---THEY WILL NEVER FIND MY DOCUMENTS EVEN THOUGH I SENT CERTIFIED MAIL AND THEY RECEIVED THEM 2 MONTHS AGO! 1
I have tried for 6 weeks once a week and still not correct, these people are either under educated or just plan stupid, therefore i'm with no insurance now for 6 weeks
This site is a rip off. Any insurance plans they have is to expensive to get. It is ridiculous prices that they offer. Hell, I have no job, married but my damn husband doesn't live with me, and they expect me to pay a monthly premium of $400 plus... Hell no. They can kiss my $#*! and go to hell with that price gouging bullcrap. They are a joke. We all pay enough taxes in for them to give every single person in America Free Health care, Dental care, Eye care, and prescription, and I mean FREE, and they pay every single penny of everything. No deductibles, No out of pocket expenses, No prepay at all... everyone can get Medicaide for all the taxes that the gov gets. Morons ripping people off.
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT GET THEIR INSURANCE, COST NOT WORTH IT
Both my husband and I found other coverage in dec 2017. We both deleted applications on healthcare.gov in December. Employees from healthcare.gov REINSTATED those applications without our knowlege. (All the info was wrang because we were not married on those applications from the beginning of 2017 and we were married in the 2nd half of 2017, so those applications were set as single).
Those applications were approved without us ever giving approval to submit them! We both had to go back in and TERMINATE policies we never asked for! Now my husband is being billed by Anthem for January when he never asked for a policy from them!
This is pure and unmitigated fraud on the part of healthcare.gov. To submit applications for persons who did tried to stop the process AND submit false information to boot should be investigated and prosecurted on the part of healthcare.gov employees and the programmers who made that an automatic process.
I would rate them a zero, but that is not an option.
I put my phone number in thinking ONE representative would call me about plan options. NOPE. Within an hour I had 12 missed calls from all different numbers so I didn't even bother trying to call anyone back and now it's been 24 hours and I'm up to 62 MISSED CALLS. I've now had to put my phone on do not disturb so that every 5 seconds I'm not rejecting a call.
I just had the "JOY" of talking to customer service, I was need to change my name in the BCBS insurance- I am so pissed off their behavior! The first representative said-she can barely understand me!? In addition she was scared to make mistakes in my updating information, and she transferred me to another representative, which she said can understand Russian language. And another lady was surprised a lot because she is works only with Medicare and she is able speaks just English. So second lady gave me a phone number. I was calling once again and third person (men) said- he doesn't have time to assist me! SORRY FOR BOTHERING YOU! It is ridiculous how they are working. If they are soooo busy or they are sooo scared what the point to work in that place, I used to work in customer service more than 20 years, but never met so many rude people in one place.
People saying they paying a little money like $13 a month but I'm not working due to a disability and currently waiting on the SSI process so I have no insurance since I couldn't go back to work. They told me $389 a montg which is ridiculous I can't afford that. I already have treatments I can't afford to go to the Dr to get and medications I have to take to live that I can't afford and still can't get ant help. Even when I go to the ER they basically don't do anything because I have no insurance
This country could care less if you live or die if you can't afford insurance then they call it so called affordable who is it affordable for because definitely not the average person who really needs it.
So my employer offers a "minimum value plan" for $268/mo - it only covers ME, not my kids. The cheapest family plan is almost $600/mo which is half a paycheck. But because my company offers some crap plan I cannot afford, I am DENIED for any subsidy here, and also not eligible for Medicaid assistance. (Neighbor makes $58K/year and they get great plan on here for $170/mo for their family. I make $38K and support 3 kids but CANNOT GET INSURANCE.) That loophole should have been addressed by Congress, I'm sure it affects a LOT of working moms. Also the healthcare.gov customer service reps are poorly trained and not very knowledgeable or polite.
SHANNON MILLER IS THE BIGGEST JOKE ON EARTH DOESN'T KNOW A THING ABOUT 1095A OR IF THEY SENT THEM HAS NO CLUE HOW TO SEND THEM ASKED 3 TIMES THREE DIFFERENT DATES TO GET IT NEVER ONCE HAVE THEY SENT ONE AND SAID IT'S NOT OUR PROBLEM WELL I WILL BE COMING BY THE OFFICE TO PICK IT UP TRY TO STOP ME.
IMHO, I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THIS IS REALLY A GOVERNMENT WEBSITE! If there was a rating lower than 1 out of 5 stars, that would be my rating. Scam website IMHO! The website prompts you, when you attempt to sign in, to "Call the Marketplace Call Center at *******596 (TTY: *******325) for help with getting into your account". Then automated telephone voice computers attempt to sell you all kinds of products; many that do not have any relation to healthcare!
Without this program I would not have insurance. Having said that, I am disappointed in them having Anthem as one of the offerings. But am glad that there are others to choose from.
I made the mistake of calling to compare to my benefits from work, within seconds of hitting submit I had multiple calls come in, all from the same place. This was in January, it is now mid march and the calls have not stopped despite me calling back and choosing the option to stop calls, so I started blocking calls on my phone and now they call from numbers all over the country. It is harassment at its worst. When you call and press 2 to stop these calls, it hangs up on you and you will get more than you can stand calls from them the next few days. TRUST ME, LEAVING YOUR PHONE NUMBER WILL BE A HUGE MISTAKE.
Tip for consumers:
They harass you from the second you press submit to see prices. Their prices are not low, and under the poor leadership of Biden I am sure it will get worse.
The agents you get to talk to after an inhuman amount of wait time know absolutely nothing! They simply read off a horribly long script. I asked one person if my coverage gets auto renewed next year. She puts me on hold for ages then comes back and reads a script which went on for ages, so I had to stop her and say, hey, chill I don't understand a word you are saying and its all just legal BS. STOP! So she stopped and I asked her my question again and then she read what it said on my account which is general and doesn't explicitly say if my coverage renews or not info that I can already see. So I had to keep saying "yes I can read too, but I need to know if it renews" and then she finally just gave up and said no it doesn't. So why in all that is holy didn't she simply just F%$ing say that 45 mins ago? I mean I know exactly why but it is an unpopular opinion with woke/gen Y and Z people so there is no point explaining the truth, we'll just say that this Marketplace it is an extremely incompetent and unhuman process that has no competition so why do they need to make it better? Same with all Govt services, the lack of competition makes them absolutely useless and unbearably frustrating. As much as I am begging for national healthcare, This certainly is where capitalism shines. Imagine if the govt gave us national healthcare and then ran the show like this... I'd be begging for private insurance again lol
I am trying to update my application on the HealthCare.gov website. However, there are certain questions that I don't have the answer for, because I don't know what is going to happen in 2017. I am not a mind reader. So, I decided to call them to explain my situation. The recording said I had a wait time of 30 minutes. Okay, so I put the speaker phone on so I could do other things while waiting. An hour and a half later, I am still waiting for the next representative. Of course, I am so far into it now that I don't want to hang up, but, it is also getting late so I don't know how much longer I can hold on. This is absolutely ridiculous! This is why I always wait until the last minute to renew my application, because I know there are going to be questions on the website that I cannot answer and am going to have to call them, and it's going to be at least a 2-hour process (or longer). This is ridiculous to have to go through this every year. I do hope our new president elect can come up with another plan so we won't have to do this every year.
This organization is unbelievable. It can't get any worse. I received a letter from my dental insurance provider in October of 2017 telling me my insurance would automatically continue into 2018 without having to do anything except pay my premium. In December I went on to the Marketplace website to change my medical insurance. After securing a medical plan, the website asked if I needed any additional dental or vision insurance. I DID NOT because my dental plan was already in place for 2018. I checked "NO". Well apparently by answering "NO" it gives them the right to go and cancel the dental insurance you have in place... with no knowledge that they were going to do so. Nor did I give them any permission to cancel my insurance. I didn't know my dental insurance had been canceled until I received a refund check from my dental insurance provider in January. When I called the Marketplace to get this fixed, they would do nothing. I just kept getting the scripted answer of "You are out of the enrollment window. Unless you have a life changing event you cannot make any changes until the next open enrollment in the fall". But wait, YOU cancelled my insurance. I talked to 3 people (2 supervisors) and kept getting the same answer. Finally the last supervisor told me I was as far up the chain as I could go. Her bosses were not accessible to the public. I would just have go without dental insurance for the year because of their screw up. What a organization... you can screw up everyone's insurance and then not have to correct any of your mistakes.
My son called HealthCare Marketplace back today because when he applied on 11/8 for December 2019 coverage with a girl named Tia, he told her he wanted the $600 deductible plan that covered prescription drugs BEFORE the deductible was met. I found out while trying to fill a prescription today for him that she put him down for the plan where you had to pay the deductible first resulting in his prescription costing $415, which he can not afford! When he called there today, a "supervisor", a woman who sounded Mexican or something, told him he could appeal but it would take 30 days blah blah blah. When he went off on her asking her how he was going to get the drugs he needs now and about how he picked the right plan and THEY were the ones who put down the wrong one, ms. Professional supervisor hung up on him. That was her answer to his problem which THEY caused! These people need to be cleaned out and replaced with actual professionals! No wonder why they have NEVER gotten one good review! Typical clueless government workers and the so-called supervisors are totally unprofessional and suck!
The healthcare marketplace is a JOKE. They enrolled me in a healthcare plan that I DID NOT CHOOSE and now they will not fix their mistake. Also, I am six months pregnant dealing with this nonsense. I will never go through this website ever again and I hope that they go down for the fraud they have caused me and so many other customers.
I logged in to report a life change since my husband was becoming eligible for Medicare the following month. When you report a life change, it will kick you into your application. I inadvertently canceled my husband's insurance because I wanted to plan ahead. I only realized this the next day when I called the Marketplace about some documents they wanted and I was informed that my husband's insurance was cancelled even though we had paid the monthly premium in full. There was no way to just "notify of a life change" -- you have to go through the entire application and once you reapply without a household member you are out of luck until the next open enrollment. BEWARE: NEVER TELL THEM IN ADVANCE OF ANY LIFE CHANGE.
I've never applied but got charged 700.00 last tax season called them to tell them I never wanted it & I'm still getting mail from them asking for income proof that I dont send cuz I don't want it & thats what they did last year it says you will get disqualified if you don't reply but dont be fooled they still enroll you then hit you with a fine for insurance you didn't know you had nor used STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE
Tip for consumers:
That they scam people rather than help them especially when we didn't even sign up with them in the first place
DO NOT WORK WITH MARKETPLACE! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE I KNOW TO USE MARKETPLACE. NO ONE IS EVER HELPFUL. THEY ARE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE THAT CANNOT DO THE BASIC ESSENTIALS THEIR JOB. I NEEDED HEALTH INSURANCE FOR 1 MONTH BETWEEN JOBS... 1 MONTH... SHAME ON ME FOR THINKING A GOVERNMENT PROGRAM WOULD HAVE ANYTHING LESS THAN HALF WITS. I PLACED A CALL A MONTH INTO THE PROGRAM REMINDING THEM THAT IT NEEDED TO BE CANCELED AT MONTH END BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE IT THROUGH MY JOB. I CONFIRMED 7 DAYS AFTER MONTH THAT IT WAS CANCELLED AND THEY STATED IT HAD NOT BEEN, THAT IS WAS NEVER CANCELLED. So 15 DAYS FROM THERE IS WHERE MY COVERAGE WOULD STOP! NEEDLESS TO SAY I NOW HAVE A 580 BILL FOR INSURANCE I NEVER WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE! THEY OPEN AN ESCALATION ON THE BACK DATING AND I GET AN ANSWER OF "NO" IT CAN'T BE COMPLETED. THY WOULD NOT PROVIDE REASONING, JUST THAT THEY COULD NOT HELP. THANKS MARKETPLACE. I HOPE THEY GET SHUT DOWN.
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT!! IF IT SEEMS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE....
I have called several times trying to enroll in healthcare and each time I have spent about 40 minutes on the phone before hanging up in frustration, I finally tried enrolling on the website but did not get to finish my application. After enrolling I did not complete my application. Today I tried signing back on to the website and I could not answer the recovery question correctly in order to retrieve my password. I called the customer service line hoping to get fast help since I already have an application file. Clearly I was mistaken, I spent over an hour on the phone for the lady to tell me that she does not see my application on file. But how is that possible if the website was able to send the link to my email in order to reset the password! After switching lines between her supervisor and I she continued feeding me the same story and giving me the excuse that her computer is acting really slow. This is by far the worst customer service that I have experienced in a very long time. The phone call ended with her hanging up on me. I am disappointed that eBay had better customer service than the healthcare.gov website, this website is a representation of the government, more work is definitely needed. I also could not find a number for customer complaints or an email.
Tip for consumers:
Go through your own insurance if possible.
Plans are good but customer care reps are rude. Spoke to a guy called Alex, he disconnected the call since he did not know the answer to my question. Similar experience with 2 other reps.
I found some of the information I needed but my state doesn't have their act together. I don't think their health care exchange is working properly yet.
The first nightmare: I sent in my documents proving my change of life situation in May, sent certified mail. They uploaded them to the wrong application and said I would have to re-submit which means another trip to a copier and to the post office and $7.34 postage, then, to add insult to injury, they said I missed that month's enrollment date which means nightmare #2: The IRS is going to be on my as* when trying to filing for 2018 taxes, plus a fine! THANKS UNCLE OBAMA!
After 8 months with affordable, decent health coverage through the program, I tried to re-enroll. The website directed me to apply for my state's Medicaid program, which I did. I was accepted, and so figured that, as explained in the Healthcare.gov notices I'd received, I would no longer have insurance through them after Dec. 31. No problem, since I now had Medicaid. However, they sent me re-enrollment emails anyway, and I went through the process to see what was going on. Would they still want to offer me the same coverage with subsidies that made my bill only $148 per month? Well, I found out that there would be no subsidies for me going forward, so I would be paying over $900 per month for insurance I didn't even need. I let it go. Then, yesterday, I got a notice that $185 was taken from my account to pay for another insurance premium. I called my insurance company and they said that I was automatically re-enrolled, based upon info from the Marketplace. I called the customer service line at healthcare.gov, and they said that the onus had been on ME to let them know that I wasn't continuing. This AFTER they had told me in no uncertain terms that re-enrollment and coverage ended Dec. 31. Moral of the story: Make sure to alert them if you do not intend to re-enroll after the end of the year. They are not accountable in any way, and will bleed you dry without reason. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is that the coverage was, for that one year, both affordable and useful.
