I was trying to pay my premium was getting no where with Ambetter my insurance through marketplace, I ask for a supervisor which was Janae Taylor, she went step by step, was very understanding and compassionate about my problem. My husband has cardiac issues and we're in the middle of procedures so I was in a Panic to get this straightened out. She was AWESOME! Kudos to Janae!' For outstanding job well done!
My first year on MHS Ambetter and trying to do my 2023 taxes, I found out that I need to have a 1095a form, which I never received via mail or email. I can't even get on the Ambetter MHS website to print the form, because it sends me to the healthcare.gov website. When I do there, it only allows my to renew my 2024 application, can't look at my current application without an ID code, which I have no clue what that is. Can't even go to a "menu" to look for my 2023 forms. Now I'm on the phone with healthcare.gov, waiting to speak with someone. Go figure that the US government has to be this flipping difficult. I unfortunately retired early and needed to obtain insurance. What a huge JOKE! I hate this marketplace, Obamacare crap!
I would like to inform the US government and everyone on particular that the supervisor of the marketplace.gov her name is KiKi Feven was so rude and yelling at me for asking questions. She sent me away to do it by myself or find somebody else. She is so unprofessional, and she needs to be trained properly to deal with customers not to tell at them. She is not qualify to be a supervisor. She has bad temper.
Perhaps training personnel or actually having a website that is not broken 90% of the time? Trying to make a simple application change so that we can pay the premium, but the site doesn't work, directs us to call... 60 minutes later, we are STILL trying to get this done. NO EXCUSE for this kind of systemic failure.
We tried this for 11 months and because I had 96 thousand on my application and made only 47 thousand for the year, I have to pay 6500 in taxes because of the insurance. I made less and have to pay more in taxes! It's CRAZY! And, this did not cover my wife prescriptions and we could not even use the insurance.
Went on the site just to get a quote. As soon as I submitted my info I got a call from a agent who connected me to another agent. He was extremely pushy about when I could start coverage and how much could I afford monthly. He didn't even explain any plans he just wanted to get right down to the money. He hung up on me when I said I would want my coverage to start the 1st of the year. Shortly after the lady that called first called me back and claimed that was her first time calling me! OMG it was a total game. I asked her to remove me from the call list ASAP. I do not recommend.
I s spoke with the representative by the name of Kayla. She was very quick to inform me that even if the marketplace gave me the wrong information while purchasing a plan, it's not their responsibility to ensure what they have up on their screen from the insurance company is the correct information. They all she does is read a script and I could pretty much take it or leave it. I asked her so again, you're telling me that the marketplace gave me the wrong information and that there's nothing I can do about it and again she stated I read to you what was on my screen. Absolutely positively the worst customer service experience that I've ever received.
I would like to warn anyone not to use this place, I cancelled my policy in 2019 and they keep renewing and taking money from me. I am not trying to fight my last years auto renew and it's a major pain! Be aware
The reps are incompetent, and I'm not sure how they have jobs. I was told for four months I did not have insurance when in fact I did. This delayed me receiving my taxes. When I finally was able to speak to a competent supervisor it took five minutes and a call to my insurance provider to get everything updated correctly. They are not worth the headache! Not to mention they have auto enrolled me even though I have insurance through my employer. I was not aware I had to cancel because usually you have to enroll every year. Now the IRS are requesting additional information. I love Obama but not for this!
Marketplace gave me a decent amount in the beginning of my health insurance. All of a sudden it cost $300 monthly for it out of nowhere. They claim I did not provide enough info on time, but that's not correct. I get a notice of a if I don't pay by a certain time I'll be terminated. It says you have 90 days. They counted from when the insurance started in the 90 days and Then ended my health insurance wanting me to pay $1100 in 1 month. RIDICULOUS! Long story short they terminated my health insurance during a pandemic! What if I get Covid? I can't even afford to go to the doctors now. I'm disappointed and hope I can get some help since being unemployed and now with no health insurance. They do not care about your well being. Tread lightly if you want good health insurance.
If i could give 0 stars I would. Not sure what the issue is for them but it's either the training, management or the lack of finding competent people to do a SIMPLE job. I work for an insurance company that unfortunately works with them and all I can say is wow what a $#*! show
Tip for consumers:
If you really want to use healthcare.gov get an agent that is self employed to sign you up.
I called at 10:35 pm CST and a very bored black lady answered. She sighed, was obstructive and clearly had no desire to help me. I asked what her problem was since previously I had good service. She said she did not have to tolerate me and hung up.
I don't know how they train there agents but they don't seem to know what the hell they're doing. And I've spoken to multiple people. I wonder how many people like me have given up just because of that. So frustrating.
I enrolled the plan at the end of Jun for cover starting Aug 1. The first week of July, I received a billing asking for the payment from April to end of July that I never signed up for. I called them up to have the record fixed, I called them almost every day, spent three to four hours each time on the phone for 2 months now. They turned me around and around, told me to escalate and appeal. Marketplace appeal center said that this is not under their authority. I never got a answer or get the problem solved. I don't know what to do, I guess I just wait to have it solve in court. I want to give a negative number in rating but it is not available.
Every year they make it harder and harder to afford this help. I had BCBS and Cigna over the last 4 years. And eventually they raised premiums sky high. And this Health Marketplace gives no help. I blame this on the current administration. Because of all the funds being diverted to help their migrant invasion. And promising to help those millions and millions of migrants. That came up here illegally.
Website is not user friendly. The interface is fine, but it is not intuitive on some key functions. They should set it up to inform you, clearly, when the system is about to drop you. Customer service reps need to be much more trained and knowledgeable.
I applied for a special enrollment period, and it took them over a month to tell me I do not qualify since my current job offers insurance. The reason I didn't take my job's insurance is because it's $400/month which I cannot afford. Since it took them so long to tell me I don't qualify, I missed the open enrollment period for my job. So now I have no choice but to NOT have coverage for the entire year. Not only that, but it is very confusing to try and send all the additional paperwork that they needed!
Looking at health care coverage costs via this web site is virtually impossible. You cannot do it online and you get so many calls from so many different numbers from people's whose first question is, "Can you pay right now." These agents who represent many different companies who can get your information for what you have entered, call and call and call and call from many different numbers. Some are nice, some are rude, and all do not care about your health - only about the money they can get from you. Don't use this. If you want an Obama Care plan or any other plan, use an insurance agent.
Only solution to Americas depressing billion dollar soul-stealing insurance scam is to move out. Half your money goes to insurance, the other half to the military, leaving nothing for you. I Have experience with healthcare.gov, kaiser, cigna.
I'm a supporter of a single payer system. I have supported the ACA. The healthcare.gov website is cumbersome to use, and has informational errors in it. Seventy percent of the time I have called them, it has been an mind-numbingly awful experience. I'm looking at other insurance because of it.
Commercial says hey I got covered me and my family 60$ a month. I'm single can't make ends meet and my cheapest plan according to website is 400$+ a month. And it doesn't even cover my medications. Will go without taking my medications I guess.
Unfortunately, my number was utilized to sign up for this program. I received a total of 47 calls. I answered and asked who this was and what this was about. Once the information was given I asked to have my number removed. I repeatedly received phone calls back to back in a short period of time. I kept asking for a manager and my number to be removed. I called back to ensure my number was removed and was called stupid, to not call there and a $#*!. Customer service representatives gave aliases and repeatedly hung up on me and would not allow for a manger to get on the line. My number was eventually blocked.
Obamacare doesn't seem so bad. I found a cheaper version of my existing heathcare plan here. The website isn't very well designed. It's hard to figure out what to do next sometimes and some of the pages are broken, but I still am going to save $500 per year on my health insurance by using this.
I have always had helpful reps when talking to the healthcare.gov people. The website is pretty straightforward and transparent. Now, dealing with the health insurance companies, that's a whole other situation.
I read some of the reviews, mostly extremely negative. But I can't help but think that they have been paid by a third party. The comments are very negative but vague in details, so I won't be trusting those reviews, specially because of my own experience.
I live in New Jersey, married and a freelancer artist, couldn't survive without the healthcare exchange. In all fairness, New Jersey had a healthcare exchange before Obamacare, so maybe that's why it works smoothly over here.
Healthcare.gov has made it possible to set up my own successful business because I don't have to depend on being employed by someone else. How is that a bad thing? This is where freedom begins, doesn't matter what party you follow.
I've had danced around this marketplace trying to find a plan that is affordable, universally accepted and covered what my family had in the previous years. Apparently this is an impossibility. Just to save you some time, I paid $980 for a 14K deductible, I'm 30 years old with a wife and 2 kids, $90 copay, no dental or vision, new Drs won't take it, and it hardly covers anything. After doing my calculation I was better to save the money and pay cash for everything we had done this year including the birth of our new son.
Do what it takes to stay away from any of these plans.
Horrible, Horrible!
I signed up for healthcare in August. Then in September they signed me up on another plan without my knowledge, know I have 2 plans. Didn't know until I made my payment and it was more then double the amount. There cancelled out for good!
I filled out my application through this website and I haven't heard anything back. So I called customer service and asked what was going on with my application and the man that I talked to didn't help me at all! He told me that none of my information was in the system yet he never even asked my name or account number! He just assumed it wasn't there. He was very rude and impatient and after I asked him several more questions about my plan he hung the phone up on me. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I refuse to call this company with ignorant people as customer service representatives.
The official website for the U.S. Government's federal health insurance marketplace, as described in the Affordable Care Act of 2010.
