I was trying to pay my premium was getting no where with Ambetter my insurance through marketplace, I ask for a supervisor which was Janae Taylor, she went step by step, was very understanding and compassionate about my problem. My husband has cardiac issues and we're in the middle of procedures so I was in a Panic to get this straightened out. She was AWESOME! Kudos to Janae!' For outstanding job well done!

“Form 1095a”

Deb R.
3/8/24

My first year on MHS Ambetter and trying to do my 2023 taxes, I found out that I need to have a 1095a form, which I never received via mail or email. I can't even get on the Ambetter MHS website to print the form, because it sends me to the healthcare.gov website. When I do there, it only allows my to renew my 2024 application, can't look at my current application without an ID code, which I have no clue what that is. Can't even go to a "menu" to look for my 2023 forms. Now I'm on the phone with healthcare.gov, waiting to speak with someone. Go figure that the US government has to be this flipping difficult. I unfortunately retired early and needed to obtain insurance. What a huge JOKE! I hate this marketplace, Obamacare crap!

Would absolutely recommend no one EVER signs up with healthcare.gov. Absolute SCAM! Make sure you know the fine print when signing up - they have the right to auto enroll you for the next 5 years without ANY consent or knowledge! The coverage is horrible, never have any health care providers with availability in network. Its just all garbage. And again, they enrolled me another year WITHOUT TELLING ME! So now I owe them for insurance I didn't know I had and NEVER signed up for..

I purchased a policy and was very happy with it. 2017 rolled around and for no reason whatsoever i lost my subsidy. No big deal i'll just cancel. Well i was told i could not cancel intul the middle of the next month. So the next month rolled around and i was billed for another premium but this time with the subsidy. Which is it? Do i get it or not. Well i still want the policy cancelled but now i can't cancel it because i had insurance. Wtf. I had insurance that i didn; t want nor did i pay for?!?! Seriously thats what theyre telling me. I don't make enough money to get the subsidy but i make too much for medicaid. Every single time i call the 1800# i am told something different by a rep and no one can ever get on the same page. I can't wait to see the healthcare marketplace fail. I thought the purpose of the ACA was universal coverage 45% of americans are still without coverage. Nice work

Don't use this website. It doesn't work the way people think it does and when
You call to get something fixed because the site didn't work right they
Tell you that you are wrong and the site works fine. I tried to cancel
My policy and it didn't give me the
Option to select when to cancel the policy. I wanted it cancelled
Immediately but it made my cancellation date a month later. I called
About it and very rudely was told that I should have called to cancel my
Policy and they can't do anything because I chose when my policy was to
Be cancelled. I wasn't given the option to choose but apparently they
Were there and saw my screen as I was cancelling my policy. Now I get to
Pay for useless health insurance while I am paying for the health
Insurance I got through my employer

Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site.

Absolutely the worst customer service even when you ask for a manager or supervisor they are rude, uneducated about the process and brush you off easily to figure it out or help yourself. WHY ARE THESE MY OPTIONS FOR HEALTH INSURANCE? I'm paying them with my tax dollars and on the phone for over an hour and still can't get it right!?

I called to cancel my plan. That is all i wanted to do. I am 22 years old. I asked the agent if I could simply cancel my plan. She went on and on abut how I am a millennial, and how millennials think they know everything. I simply asked to cancel my plan. My age should have nothing to do with me wanting to cancel my plan. She then went on to tell me that her daughter is my age, and us "young folk" don't listen. I asked if I could possibly speak to someone else, as all I wanted to do was cancel my plan. She said no and continued to tell me that "she couldn't live without health insurance" and "how will I live without health Insurance." Honestly this is ridiculous. I don't need someone judging and questioning me simply because of my age.

We all know the marketplace insurance is no insurance at all. Here is what needs to be done and WE have to do it. First, DO NOT VOTE for anyone in office right now, we need real people not politicians that force crap at us. The healthcare is junk they know it and instead of using it they have other. Next, I want to have posted that Nobama is probably the worst president in US History. Well, maybe a tie with Jimmy Carter but that is not good company----for Carter to keep, LOL. Yes, obama was and is a joke, he is weak, a coward and a lover of terror. I usually respect our Presidents but I cannot have any respect for a terd like him. He would not have beat Trump in the last election and I want him to know it. Obama you have run your course take your fat butt wife and go to Africa.

December 2022-January of 2023 healthcare got changed 6 or 7 times due to the constant harassment of calls from the Market Place. I was not aware of all these changes and what was going on until later. I found out from a BCBS representative that the Market Place is a call center with a commission base. It was better to get a BCBS or Healthcare company broker as a representative. Then December 2023. I was sold a United Healthcare plan with a higher amount of deductible and out-of-pocket. I was on the BCBS Gold Plan. Then I am put on another BCBS Plan with a higher everything for January 2024. I changed my United Healthcare Plan to no deductible, no out of pocket, and no premium but higher co-pays/specialty pay for February 2024. Meanwhile, I am constantly being harassed by the Market Place 30+ calls daily.

2023 I started a new monthly small pension and continued full-time employment. I provided this information of my hourly wage, hours worked, and net pension (my pension-$10.00 taken out for Federal). 2024 taxes show I now owe $1,500.00 for the Market Place. My rent went up $375.00 now almost 1/2 my income. So I opted to pay a 20% penalty a year by making payments to the IRS. My credit card interest is now 29% monthly more than 20% for penalties from the IRS yearly.

I canceled all my insurance and opted for free community health clinics. I am 64 and Medicare is around the corner. I will be forced to take Medicare or pay penalties for life. Medicare is not affordable either $175.00 a month. Social Security age is now 67. WTF. I am already living in low housing and cannot afford this! I have been on the Section-8 waiting list now for 3 years. Healthcare is for the poor and well-to-do NOT the in-between income. I have never made a $50,000 annual income. Teachers make more money than I do. I just help the elderly in healthcare. I cannot even donate money and I continue to go to food pantries. Our country needs an overhaul.

My only two choices for coverage are ambetter and BCBS. I have LITTLE choices for such a large decision. The only reason I'm searching is because we had UnitedHealthcare through the Marketplace last year and they dropped out. Last year the two times I needed my insurance my provider was NOT in network! A huge pain and I feel awful having to pick between ambetter (horrible reviews online) and BCBS (expensive/ high premium plans/ small network). I'm considering paying the penalty and paying out of pocket for anything we need. REALLY makes it hard for self employed/ small business owners when premiums are so high and you get bad coverage for such a huge monthly investment. A huge burden...

I used this site to find insurance. I found and started s policy. I then received 83 calls before 9am on Sunday morning. As of 1pm Monday I've had 42 calls. All my messages and responses letting them know I have insurance has not stopped the calls. They offer no recourse to have calls stopped. To avoid dealing with this, DO NOT USE THIS SITE!

My premium jumped from 17.11$ to $432 like wtf?! I get $9 per hour, I send them all the damn proofs! I called them they said I lost my tax credit because my informations didn't match while nobody can find my application. I felt so bad... I was so pissed off. I just cancelled it and they it's going to be cancelled in two weeks so I'm responsible for the $432. I don't have that amount. NOBODY CAN FIND MY APPLICATION but they said my information didn't match wow! NEVER AGAIN!

I am so sick of the run around with canceling a policy. I was told to call the marketplace then I was told to call the insurance I was with and nobody had a damn clue what was going on! Im sick of feeling like a dog chasing my own tail and getting absolutely nowhere! I shouldnt have to call in and find out what in the world is going on and then reescate an issue! Smh worst experience with health care policies! Customer service reps are mostly kind and willing to help but I feel there needs to be a better protocol put into place for these representatives so they dont feel as stressed and lost as the customer.

Have been trying for over a week to change my existing coverage. BCBS which has tripled since June 2014, started around $220... $270 in 2016... NOW the bloodsuckers want $599! Just me. What a joke. The website is the topic though. Another joke. Couldn't log as a current user. Account locked after repeated tries. Couldn't get through to a live person. Left number for call back EVENING and lo and behold was called during the day at work. Finally got through after being hung up on and system down. 18 hours later... still down... sooooo disgusted. Have more important things to do besides logging (attempting to) in to view their unsavory coverage options!

Have had to contact hc.gov at least 10 times to make a change in my coverage. EVERY SINGLE PERSON (MANAGERS INCLUDED) ARE TOTALLY INEPT. Everything takes "2 weeks" finally got so frustrated I requested my entire policy be terminated which they said would take... 2 weeks. I will not be paying for any "coverage" from this point on since they can't verify that I have coverage for the next 2 weeks. I've never seen anything like it.

Enrolling is a PAIN, then when you actually DO get a job with REAL health benefits, they cancel on their schedule, not yours - meaning that they show you had coverage thru them when you may have had coverage through an employer - yep, double coverage.

Enrolling in this plan may seem great, but it is NOT, and it is NOT required. You will be penalized for not having coverage, but the penalty overall would probably be way less than the premiums, which are actually deducted from any tax return you MIGHT have had otherwise.

Customer service reps are RUDE and practically scream at you on the phone.

My advice - STAY AWAY - pay the penalty and visit a cash clinic should you need to see a doctor.

I am as liberal as it comes, but I am very disappointed with Healthcare.gov.

My dad lost his employment and hence his insurance. My mom is a homemaker. They are both 65, however, he has only worked in the US for 7 years only, so medicare and medicaid refused to cover them.

So, we tried to sign him up at Healthcare.gov MarketPlace.

First 80% is like TurboTax wizard, very clear and easy. The end part, which is basically selecting and starting the coverage is extremely confusing. It's like lawyers and/or software engineers wrote to make it extremely confusing to use. So, we ended up signing for wrong dental coverage.

You cannot cancel just the dental coverage, even though the coverage begins next month. You cannot cancel on the web; you have to call. The wait time is 30 mins (of course like DMV). The customer support are probably ex-Comcast support people- the worst human being- rude and does not answer any questions, questions as simple as when does the cancellation take into effect. Reads out of scripts. Instead of answering questions, just ask me yes/no questions which are totally irrelevant. No empathy.

I am starting to feel that the government cannot make efficient programs, even in this day and age :/

Tip for consumers:
Good luck!
