I was trying to pay my premium was getting no where with Ambetter my insurance through marketplace, I ask for a supervisor which was Janae Taylor, she went step by step, was very understanding and compassionate about my problem. My husband has cardiac issues and we're in the middle of procedures so I was in a Panic to get this straightened out. She was AWESOME! Kudos to Janae!' For outstanding job well done!
My first year on MHS Ambetter and trying to do my 2023 taxes, I found out that I need to have a 1095a form, which I never received via mail or email. I can't even get on the Ambetter MHS website to print the form, because it sends me to the healthcare.gov website. When I do there, it only allows my to renew my 2024 application, can't look at my current application without an ID code, which I have no clue what that is. Can't even go to a "menu" to look for my 2023 forms. Now I'm on the phone with healthcare.gov, waiting to speak with someone. Go figure that the US government has to be this flipping difficult. I unfortunately retired early and needed to obtain insurance. What a huge JOKE! I hate this marketplace, Obamacare crap!
I've never had any problems the past 4 years. Always easy to enroll and representatives friendly and knowledgeable. Always got affordable plan and eligible for decent tax credit. However, this year was terrible. Was put in wrong plan, then when they admitted it was their mistake, they allowed me to switch to correct plan, but expected me to pay the payments for past 4 months I was in wrong plan. I was told there was nothing they could do and told to file an appeal which I did, only to be told they couldn't approve my appeal request. Then, another representative was very nice and went above and beyond to fix it beings was their mistake, so either they are very helpful, or completely useless, depending who you talk to and if you're persistent.
They call me non stop, & I'm loosing important phone calls now. At first, I answered their calls bce interested to get an insurance, but they hung up on me when they insisted to subscribe right away, even I mentioned not ready. Just wanted an idea about the cost of health insurance in USA.
Recently I'm having a huge pleasure to contact a customer reps for cancellation of my policy. When I started the application no one told that cancellation can take over 2 months and still cannot be completed. I talked with so many reps for last 2 months, I guess 10 from Obama care and another 5 from insurance company. I never believed it can be so big trouble to cancel this staff. Customer reps dropping calls, arguing and one even transfered me to Spanish speaker! Representative. Each time I have to explain everything over. Omg I'll just contact my bank and explain them my problem and describe it as unauthorized charges. I can't find another solution.
I have never encountered such rude liars in all of my life. Are we really paying for this?. I called the IRS and she was shocked that this is going on. They fixed the problem as soon as I told them, that they would not send me a 1095 A health. If I hear one more clipped accent trying to be superior I will go to Washington to appeal.
Sick sick people are working there.
Hi agree. One representative explained that my $5200 deductible meant that the company immediately paid 80% of all medical expenses and the client paid only 20% until they reach $5200 out-of-pocket. Then the coverage is at 100%. As it turns out, the client pays the first $5200 for any surgical procedures as an inpatient or outpatient. Never trust the poorly trained individual that represents the company. Check your policy. Review a written online version of your benefits before you join.
First of all, it took me about an hour to log into the website after running into a slew of problems resetting my account. However foolishly, I thought that was the worst part but I was wrong. Now I'm waiting for my identify to be verified after putting in my information and it won't let me continue. Everytime I try again, I essentially have to start the whole thing over. This website and its security protections are a completely mess! I've now spent over half a day and still don't know when I'll finish.
Whoever designed this website was a complete idiot. I wonder if anyone tested this POS. Try to print out your options and it takes 40 pages and the information is so garbled and disorganized, there is no way to do an adequate comparison. The basic information the pops up is worthless. It shows family deductible not individual. I could go on and on. They've had years to work on this... and I'm sure they've been well compensated for a complete piece of crap! The telephone assist people barely speak English... Hillary can kiss it!
Tip for consumers:
Go shoot yourself first!
I have been attempting to log on for MONTHS. I have requested my user name mo many times it is ridiculous and I have gotten not one single email from this group. The help desk person I spoke with, while friendly, was completely useless and new less about the website that I did. Even after reporting what is a pretty major issue, 4 months later the problem is ongoing. And i've seen more than one review that mentions this rather glaring inability to send an email to a link.
Customer service at Marketplace is very rude including Spanish speaking representatives. My parents were trying to renew for next year & the rep from Marketplace disconnected the call. I called the following day & right away the rep replied very rude she sounded irritated as I asked her questions about coverage start date. I hope a supervisor or someone above would take time to listen to the calls & realize how customers are being talked to.

Customer service very rude
If you're wanting health insurance, go straight to provider. My husband and I have put up with so much bs from the people who work there. I called 3-4 months ago to get my date of birth changed because my husband told them the wrong year and they hassled me about it for awhile and then told me it was done. I called about a month ago and they said my date of birth had been submitted. Well I talked to someone today and they said there has not been anything submitted. I now have bills going to collections between January and July because they won't let me change my date of birth without it being a hassle. My husband is self employed and they asked him for pay stubs in order to submit our application/enrollment. He's SELF EMPLOYED. You don't get pay stubs. Aside from all of that, it's even more frustrating when the person you're talking to can't even speak English correctly. Long story short... don't use the health marketplace!
Applied for coverage back in January 2017 and guess what? Still don't have coverage! They don't communicate with other health care insurance companies get nasty give you the run around! Unbelievable! Then the rep I was talking too had the balls to say to me 'oh my god'! Seriously? Good customer service! Not... And now they are trying to say that I have to retro pay $900 when I haven't gone to doctors bc of the lack of insurance! I still have no health insurance even though I qualify for it. This company is disgusting.
My daughter had two insurance policies because the person who I spoke to did not process the cancellation properly. Stay away from this website, get private major medical insurance through the major companies if you can. Please do not use this site. It is truly government run.
I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person--I have a Master's in Business--but I cannot get to the point where I can actually view plans for which I am eligible. I completed an application over the phone--that was easy--but when I then logged in to look at plans I keep getting some Experian screen to verify my identity. Called the number, gave them my code--they can't verify my identity. Spoke to 4 agents, including a supervisor who advised me to fill out another application online. I did so, only to get the same Experian screen at the end of my application. Called again; same result. Clicking on "complete my application" online (it shows I have an application there; it's just incomplete) takes me back to the beginning of the application process every time. Have been dealing with this since November 1 and feel like I won't get to enroll by December 15. No wonder so many millions of people are without insurance. How can anyone enroll when you can't complete the application?
Stay away, turn around and never come back. I wish i could go back in time and never even think about healthcare.gov ever again. You will leave this place with less of yourself than when you first signed up. The accountability of customer service is the worse than anything I have ever experienced, I still think I'm going to wake up from this nightmare any minute, unfortunately I'm not. If I can save one person from this dreadful experience, the world will be a better place.
I was sold 2 different health insurance policies this year and could not see any of my doctors. These people are clueless and just out to make a sale without actually helping people! These people should not have licenses to even drive! ACA Marketplace sucks!
The worse customer service I've ever experienced. The representative handling my call was Annabel Harper. The market place should put their employees through training to provide adequate customer care and satisfaction and problem solving versed getting argumentative.
Dealing with these people has been a horrible experience, they all say something different every time I had to call for something. Thanks to their incompetence now I owe the insurance company AND the doctors office thousands of dollars, and they still can't give me a straight answer of fix the situation. I just can't understand how this can happen and there be no repercussions for them at all.
I feel like this doesn't help anyone. They guesstimate what you will make for the year give you a great "deal" on the health insurance then take $2000 dollars from you when you do your taxes. Also finding doctors and medication is a lot more difficult. If there is any other option for you I would take it!
I would like to thank and let everyone know that the employee Lorenzo #******* was super helpful, polite, kind and super patient in the process of our application. Health care is crazy confusing and he helped through the entire process. Thank you so very much. So glad he received my call this afternoon.
Terrible terrible terrible. God awful service you will have everything set to go, made sure I had all the information needed only to find out that I was lied to about certain documents needed and will not have coverage until the next month. Then they added my whole family to the insurance, most of which don't even live with me anymore including my estranged husband and now all of sudden I don't qualify when I've had this insurance for more than a year. I'm seriously done with healthcare.gov I'll just go through the blue cross blue shield direct website because this was very uncalled for. I have no insurance now, because they don't communicate nor have any idea what they are doing.
Tip for consumers:
Get ready to deal with disorganized chaos is all I have to say.
It took me 45 minutes to fill out my info, including having to input mine and my husbands SS#, only to find out that we are only eligible for insurance off the "Marketplace". I was never successful in finding the plans to review. Today, I had almost 30 calls from insurance companies soliciting me... I never gave my info to any of these companies so they are getting your information from the healthcare.gov site. Our income is above the poverty level so this site was useless. They go off your gross income and don't take into account any of the daily expenses we all have that makes most of these plans not affordable to the average working family. This was a giant waste of time not to mention I'm being harassed daily now by the idiot insurance companies.
When I called to update my 2018 application the lady updated my 2017 application and typed in that our wrong financial information (half a million dollars wrong!) Which kicked out our current eligibility. So, I received a bill for the month of December for over $600 due to an error on Healthcare.gov! Now, they say I need to file an Appeal! Thats absurd!
I was shopping for a child only plan (adding one person to my employer's plan is so expensive). The process seemed to be easy, the person on the phone very helpful. She pulled up several insurance companies that my child's doctor's office accepted. I picked one, signed up, paid and thought I was good to go. Turns out my child's doctor doesn't accept the insurance that I was told by healthcare.gov they did... I have to switch from the only Dr. my child has ever seen to some random person with no other options. Oh and when I was talking to my child's doctor's office, they told me they've had a bunch of patents who also went through healthcare.gov and was given wrong information and are now in the same boat as I am.
After calling heathcare.gov was quoted at 180 dollars monthly plus 100 dollar sign on fee. They were begging me for my credit card info. After a while I hung up realizing it's a scam and began to get a barage of spam phone calls. Do not trust this site. It is obviously ran by scammers.

Please let me know if you figure that out. How do you spell S-C-A-M again? Seriously folks, do yourselves a favor and check the same insurance plan at the providers site, you will be pleasantly surprised
