I was trying to pay my premium was getting no where with Ambetter my insurance through marketplace, I ask for a supervisor which was Janae Taylor, she went step by step, was very understanding and compassionate about my problem. My husband has cardiac issues and we're in the middle of procedures so I was in a Panic to get this straightened out. She was AWESOME! Kudos to Janae!' For outstanding job well done!
My first year on MHS Ambetter and trying to do my 2023 taxes, I found out that I need to have a 1095a form, which I never received via mail or email. I can't even get on the Ambetter MHS website to print the form, because it sends me to the healthcare.gov website. When I do there, it only allows my to renew my 2024 application, can't look at my current application without an ID code, which I have no clue what that is. Can't even go to a "menu" to look for my 2023 forms. Now I'm on the phone with healthcare.gov, waiting to speak with someone. Go figure that the US government has to be this flipping difficult. I unfortunately retired early and needed to obtain insurance. What a huge JOKE! I hate this marketplace, Obamacare crap!
Once again the site is unavailable before the deadline has been reached. Only the government can sweep this under the rug! The picture below is what I got when trying to log in. Needless to say, the telephone lines were inoperative also.
Its a scam to sell your information to insurance companies. I never got a quote. I just received 10 calls a day from people selling me insurance. 3 months later and I am still blocking numbers. If you choose to sign up, Don't give your real number. They will call none stop. Its sad our government runs a scam to sell our information. This should be against the law
Tip for consumers:
Skip this scam to sell your phone number
I called to cancel since I got a job and they can't cancel until the middle of next month. I don't need another 14 days of insurance. The government is quite literally making me burn $300 of my hard earned money. Thanks for "help"? What a joke.
I did not have coverage in 2023 and my taxes was rejected because of an error made by them. Now I have to wait up to 45 days for them to fix it. Complete BS.

I have purchased insurance through the site and needed to prove income. I went back to school for another degree after leaving my job so my income feel by more than 50% as I just do ride share and go to school full time now. I explained to them on the phone the situation and was just told to send my W2 and add that in the notes. I did all that but also included every pay stub up to the time of the first call. For the third time now I'm being threatened with cancellation because I haven't proved income. The 2018 W2 and every pay stub to from January 1 to August 30 is still not sufficient to show prove how much income I have in 2019.
The service stinks! Stinks so bad it's unbelievable.
The commercial shows all these people with rates of $22, $55, or even $200 for a family of four. The rate was over $250 for myself and close to $500 for family of two. When compared to insurance websites directly - healthcare.gov was GROSSLY overpriced. We were very disappointed in the rates, available info, website errors and misleading advertisements.
How does a supervisor by the name of Mike Young still have a job with a government agency after so many complaints have been issued on him? He is the rudest, most unhelpful and unprofessional person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with at any sort of organization. He needs to be fired and so does every other person that cannot fulfill any requests or take any responsibility for what is going wrong with that organization.
I have been trying to get this website to tell me something... ANYTHING... for a week now. After 5 days I was finally able to create a username and authenticate it. It took me another 2 days to go through the verification and I've just completed the interview and received my eligibility... only it doesn't tell me anything. I can't find out about any available insurance policies or find out how I am supposed to proceed. My wife and I are currently uninsured and I don't want to pay the fine. But I don't know yet if I can even afford this. I would think the federal government would have their act together a little better than this.
I am just so impressed with the site and the people who answer their phones. Honestly, I've called on two separate occasions and they have gone above and beyond to help me and get me lined up with my first time health care. I'm so grateful!
If you have this insurance with a low income job, you can rock it out all year long and get the subsidy if SINGLE. When you marry even for the last month the insurance is held you have to pay back the total premium paid for you of 5 or 6 thousand dollars when taxes are filed. If you file by yourself you don't qualify unless joint. Well joint puts you well over there brackett of money either way your out 5 grand at the end the yr. Even if your subsidy is zero that you pay to them all yr long or you don't need and use any of there insured money for the year.
They are not in it to help people find health Insurance. The White House and everyone involved with this type of insurance our it for there self and their own pocket someone got paid that's why this got approved because it's so bad it such not even be able to exist! Remember Government people are all in to their self worth and how much can I can from the lobbyist! What goes around will COME around bet your boots on this!
I started my application for my special enrollment period in mid February, knowing that I would be kicked off of my parents' plan by April 1st. It took a month and a half before my documents proving that I turned 26 were accepted. I've beeb without health insurance for almost an entire month. Now it says I need to pay my premium by May 1st to avoid cancellation, but I can't do that without my member id number. They say I should receive that in the mail within 10 business days. I don't have that much time and I can't view my member id number online because you have to have your member id number to login. It doesn't really make a whole lot of sense and I will definitely be steering people away from using this awful site to buy health insurance. Very unprofessional and very slow. I gave them plenty of time in advance to approve my documents and they just didn't care one bit. So now I'm the one that's screwed all because of their laziness.
When renewing my medical and dental insurance through healthcare.gov, I had to call in and spoke to a representative that was like a slick salesman, who ended up getting me to reduce my dental insurance because of a $30 difference in supposed out-of-pocket maximum. I saved $39/month on premiums, but now have only $750 of yearly coverage instead of a $1000. Then today, I was checking out at the dentist and was told that I owe over $500. Whoa! What? I thought that I had a $375 out-of-pocket maximum. I was so confused. Come home and check it out. The pictures below show what is on healthcare.gov dental selection. Healthcare.gov has only listed the $375 out-of-pocket maximum which is for age 18 and under. Very deceitful since the out-of-pocket maximum for over age 18 is $750 and no one under 18 is going to be on that website looking for insurance!
This magic agent turned my mom health insurance situation to the absolute success after fiasco with market place at headquarters! We cannot thank her enough! She is a local agent and knows exactly what to do!
Respectfully, The Ringel's family
We have just few options, My opinion is marketplace acts a monopoly, it is sad, high quality of hospitals and specialists but it is prohibited for a regular employee. Looks like all health insurance and marketplace are connected in this manipulation, health insurance doesn't want to give estimates, so they send you to marketplace who "kindly" offers a federal credit, this is a trap.
Got an email when it was time to renew. Didn't think anything of it so I filled out my application and thought things would be fine. How long does it take to send m information to my state agency? I tried calling their number and it was this weird rapid beeping/static.
They neglected to end my service when I requested. In the end, I am forced to pay for an extra 3 months that I didn't need nor know I was covered for. Instead of cancelling it today, they have it set for 2 weeks from now, adding additional costs to the unnecessary hundreds they are already taking.
This was affordable coverage, but ended up taking more from my pocket than I have to give.
Marketplace is nothing but trash. I'm offended that this is acceptable for the people of america to have to deal with. Every single time I call in they do not have any idea of whats going on with my coverage or the fact that I even have coverage for that matter. Usually end up 3 way calling between my actual health insurance to get anywhere with them taking up lots of time.
Savings are very beneficial but the process of obtaining healthcare with them is excruciating! Every single time I call in, I get completely differing information and have had to spend HOURS following up on their issues. Not only that, they provide a customer service # within the portal that appears to be their # but is actually HealthSherpa (a for profit private sector company) without disclosing it. This whole process has been infuriating!
You get what you pay for which amounts to next to nothing. One dr trip makes it all obsolete after you pat for what they don't cover, which is a bloody fortune.
All I have to say is do not sign up for no health care plans through this government agency! They will not fill out your application correctly putting the wrong information on it. And will tell you that you don't have to re enroll each year! They will make changes of different amounts of money that you are not making each year. They will not even send you no letters stating those specific changes that they made behind your back. These people are complete liars and trickery and I wish I would have never signed up with Healthcare Marketplace. The supervisor told me I would have to do an appeal because I told her this mess was not on me but your representatives did what they wanted to do when it came to my first application. Therefore, they were wrong for applying all wrong information on it and I will fight to the end to get satisfaction. And this the whole truth on how I been treated by this company. Word from the wise beware!

I see a lot of negative reviews on here that are unfounded.
1. The site is easy to use. Once the application is done (which takes about 10 minutes), all our choices are laid out in a straightforward way.
2. This website has no control over prices or subsidies, so to give it one star for something it doesn't control is ridiculous.
3. Every time I've called their customer service, I've had very helpful converseations with people who were patient and kind.
Very... Very... rude supervisor when calling the number *******596, Jenny Brown. We are both senior citizens and dont like being rude or having being cut off on our conversations... Maybe the owners of this site or telephone number ought to pay a little more and get competent telephone customer friendly personal.
Very... Very... POOR customer service
Either it doesn't cover any doctors or the deductible is $18,000 our government is ridiculous every governor senator congress should all be fired what a waste of taxpayers money unless your a immigrate

No help from government
They are a rip off. The gov should not be running our health care they cannot do it right. Have a free market. I cannot afford any of the plans on there. I had to go with a medi share company to get something for our safety. Please fix the health care in this country asap.
