I was trying to pay my premium was getting no where with Ambetter my insurance through marketplace, I ask for a supervisor which was Janae Taylor, she went step by step, was very understanding and compassionate about my problem. My husband has cardiac issues and we're in the middle of procedures so I was in a Panic to get this straightened out. She was AWESOME! Kudos to Janae!' For outstanding job well done!
My first year on MHS Ambetter and trying to do my 2023 taxes, I found out that I need to have a 1095a form, which I never received via mail or email. I can't even get on the Ambetter MHS website to print the form, because it sends me to the healthcare.gov website. When I do there, it only allows my to renew my 2024 application, can't look at my current application without an ID code, which I have no clue what that is. Can't even go to a "menu" to look for my 2023 forms. Now I'm on the phone with healthcare.gov, waiting to speak with someone. Go figure that the US government has to be this flipping difficult. I unfortunately retired early and needed to obtain insurance. What a huge JOKE! I hate this marketplace, Obamacare crap!
As an Agent I called this HealthCare.Gov. They immediately gather your information then offer bad or incorrect information. Once I identified who I was they pretended to lose my call by hanging up mid conversation. OR their auditor was listening in. They do take your info and sell it THIRD PARTY so in my eyes, DO NOT USE. Look up your local market place and call them directly directly or look to a local agent. Good Luck
Tip for consumers:
Look for your local website or office
Firstly I would prefer not to be on MEDICAID but it beats paying 800 dollars a month to subsidise others. I am half European and lived in socialised medicine, this did not correct the US healthcare issues, it is just a ridiculous system. I am a business owner and I am on Medicaid because I do not draw an income from my business (being the first year) and so my employees have to pay through the nose and I get free healthcare. It is a scam and the weird thing is that it helps nobody because anyone with a minute job gets at best a break that equates to what they would have paid before this. The site leads me, despite wanting to buy private insurance, direct to medicaid because I am not drawing a salary.
I received an email from this website, advising me to update my information. So, I clicked on the link, but couldn't remember the user name or password. So I clicked on links to have them resend both to my email address. No auto response emails were ever received. Not worried, and I can find other ways to waste time, so the website was permanently blocked; and I didn't look back.
This website has general information for those who have their own insurance. But it gets an "incomplete" for those who have employer insurance or Medicare supplement insurnace, as retirees. For example, retiree-only health insurance is explicitly exempted by the Affordable Care Act and this fact is very, very hard to find. Also, CMS has given waivers to many health insurance plans that are employee-sponsored. One example from heathcare.gov at http://www.healthcare.gov/law/features/rights/sbc/index.html: "All health plans must provide an SBC to shoppers and enrollees at important points in the enrollment process, such as upon application and at renewal." This simply is not true.
I am still wondering how they let people with no courtesy become agents. The man I spoke to started off with a snarky attitude. When I tried to say I was not interested he kept talking. I told him I was not interested, thank you, good bye. He called back and started off using the F word and was so disrespectful, hurtful and derogatory. I saved the voice mail. If I can I will ask he be removed from his job. I will not attempt to use the marketplace to get insurance!
Our son was born last year, the marketplace entered his his date of birth incorrectly, which resulted in some of the doctors charges being denied by Blue Cross. When we tried to correct this through the marketplace they kept giving us the run around. Blue Cross said there was nothing they could do. We spent over 10 hours on numerous different occasions talking to the marketplace which resulted in nothing. We are almost being sent to collections because of this outstanding $1500 bill & we have been fighting this for 7 wks. We pay for the best BCBS PPO plan which doesn't matter when theres an issue as the customer service is horrible. The service makes no sense, it's as if its intentionally bad.
Obviously, my life does NOT matter because I can NOT afford health insurance. I have done my best to work hard and make enough money to have health insurance and be a good and contributing member of society, but at these prices I can not afford the insurance. I imagine the average person can not afford these extreme prices. Hopefully, I will stay healthy because if not and it is something that needs medical attention I guess I will just die.
Unfriendly, hard to reach. Feels like the patient is lost in a sea of BS. Wanted to "unenroll" but of course since the government is sending this companies big money each month... it's not in their interest to terminate my coverage. This show is completely unmonitored.
My husband & I were covered through the MP for 2017. In Nov. Of 2017 I went out to find out how much the new premiums were going to be for 2018. When I saw the amount that it jumped to, I knew we could not afford the insurance. My husband went to work for an employer leaving me to tend the business by myself so we could have health insurance. We never made a payment so I assumed we never signed up for coverage. We got a 1095-A stating that we did and now owe the government $1600 for coverage WE NEVER HAD! Instead of getting the money from Geisinger that should have informed them that we never made a payment and therefore did not have coverage, they would rather just get it from the poor people who couldn't afford it in the first place. Ridiculous and despicable!
This agency needs to be shut down! They take your life and screw it up for laughs. Once they ask for data ascertain your eligibility they do nothing with it. I don't think any of the info is actually put to use I believe it's just a way for government lackies to steal your identity. The employees get free healthcare through this scam place and they get it paid for even when they lie to us to get info from our employers and still cancel our policy. I hate the $#*!ing President for bullying us into paying for other people's healthcare. You are being scammed and screwed if you deal with this agency I want them out of buainess!
The idea of afforadable health care was appealing, so I signed up for a plan on healthcare.gov. But I have no idea who my provider is through, only received a letter that I had to choose a doctor or one would be choosen for me and "for more information please contact your insurance provider". WHO the hell is my insurance through? I haven't recieved any other information in the mail. When I log into my account on healthcare.gov account, there isn't any information either, it only allows me to view my orginal application. If a business did this, they would be charged with fraud or acting with unethical business practices. This has been one of the most stressful experiences I had in a long time.
Tip for consumers:
Save yourself time and money by avoiding healthcare.gov at all costs! You'll be avoiding a world of stress and headaches. You're health will thank you!
While I'm trying to look through the different health insurances. Why are these people being such damn pests, by bombarding my phone and voicemail with ******* calls? Common arse sense people! STFU and allow the person to view the plans, so that they can make an informed decision. Then they can call you! That's what the number given on the page is for.
If they don't make a decision, maybe then, A COUPLE of you can call them THE NEXT DAY! Have some damn proffesionalism and decorum. Most of all, if you're an insurance agent with a damned attitude, then go find a job digging graves somewhere. Because you damn sure don't qualify to work with live people.
I recently loss my job with NO CURRENT income. Not sure when unemployment will kick in. They said I didn't qualify for the free or reduced coverage but I did qualify for the marketplace? How can I enroll in the marketplace when I have NO INCOME? Even if I did get it, I wouldn't be able to afford it. Not fair at all.
Last year when I tried to enroll, I missed the enrollment. I couldn't afford healthcare with my job because the premiums were so expensive. They even suggested local health services but you know something...I was talking to someone who told me they just came here two months before and they got all this help. How is this possible? So, when I think about that plus my experience with this...you tell me how this is fair? I've wanted to go to the doctor for months but can't because I couldn't afford to now I still can't go.
The intention of healthcare.gov is good but you seriously need to evaluate what isn't fair or working.
I aged out of my parents policy in March so as of April 1, I have had no insurance. I understand having to prove aging out but it's been 2 weeks since I have uploaded my supporting documents and I just not get a call saying they need more proof and that i need to write a letter. So your going to believe me over my official BCBS letter? I am 26 years old and will be paying out of my own pocket for health insurance. The LEAST the government could do is have decent staff who at least half way cares about the ones who are paying their own way.
My wife and I tried to add our new baby to our marketplace insurance plan but the marketplace representative was not sure how to do that. We talked to another marketplace representative who mistakenly canceled our plan and made a new plan. Now we have no insurance until the new plan takes effect. Total mess and very stressful at a time when we need stability the most.
I did not reapply. I pulled my application! They went ahead and reapplied for me and used my old insurance Moda. Moda pulled money out of my account. I think I get it straighte6out but no. Moda is charging me 4 days worth of insurance I never had. Marketplace put in Jan 4th that I removed my application. Not true! I pulled it in December, I screen shot for proof etc. Never will I recommend or go back. Be careful!
Apparently health care marketplace had my birthdate wrong. How did I know? Well, tried to go to my checkup and was told I couldn't be seen due to my birthdate being wrong. After being on the phone with Ambetter twice, and healthcare marketplace twice, since they couldn't find my application, they said they were going to "escalate" the process so I could start using my health insurance. Yesterday I called to cancel my insurance due to getting insurance through my employer, and guess what... birthdate was still wrong! So 7 month of paying a $300 premium for health insurance I couldn't even use, even after trying to have it corrected! I asked the lady if there was anything I could do, as I believe I should get my money back since my insurance was useless all year, and all she said was "I'm sorry." Never again will i be using the healthcare.gov marketplace!
I wish I could give this place a zero, not one person there is even remotely capable of using their heads. I have called in many times to have my information updated. Never once does it happen. I have paid by credit card online through market place, I even get a confirmation code, not once has it gone through and no-one can help you. So I pay by check now. Tonight I get online to update my info because I moved, and of course it doesn't work, so I call in, the person on the other line I could hardly hear, he has no record of me whatsoever, EVEN THOUGH I'M ONLINE, so I have to give him an old application number so he can find me. HOW PATHETIC! And after an hour on the phone... I still have the incorrect address. I would sooner pull teeth than call this place. IT'S A JOKE!
The Marketplace is the worse. They send false records to the IRS which then they make you jump through hoops to get it fixed and want to blame everyone else for their mistake. They hung up on me then told me they did not send it to the correct place then told me they did send it to a caseworker so I ask to speak to them and of coarse they tell me I cannot speak to anyone.
Tried to terminate my account and they wouldn't let me because they lost my application. We were on the phone for over 40 minutes and finally asked to speak to a supervisor. Once we got the supervisor on the phone we were hung up on.
I just spent 3 hours wandering around a site that navigates like a car with no wheels in a maze!
Links don't work, error messages when trying to save completed work, suggestions to log out and back in that don't work, loss of data entered that wouldn't save, and the list goes on and on.
If I ran my business like the government runs the "Healthcare.gov" website, I wouldn't have a business!
This site is completely useless because it never solves my ACTUAL PROBLEM. I have to spend hours of time digging through this site, Googling, and waiting for 45 minutes to talk to a customer service rep who may or may not be able to help me. It's such a waste of my time and constantly loops me to blanket answers that I am not looking for. This is the exact reason why I have sought healthcare outside of the government. It's a mess, terrible user experience, customer care, and a waste of resources.
The marketplace gave my mental son coverage for a month although he's on Medicaid never paid a premium and the coverage company said it never was in force sinc he didn't pay. They caused me not to claim him because he will not get a 1095 of any kind. They cost me 2000$. Maybe they should wait and see if it ever went in force before telling irs someone did and they never had coverage to go to irs. Then again what do people expect from a government agency. Just saying PAY ATTENTION WE HAVE TOO
Called and spoke with:
Ms. Brooke weston (she is ok)
Ms. Jaeklyn morris (she is ok)
And their supervisor Lea Mitchell. Ms. Lea Mitchell kept cutting off, spoke to people beside her but rejected to answer customer, and rejected to transfer phone to other managers even if she rejected to resolve the issue. Late Ms. Lea Mitchell hung up the phone.
Just an update - My escalation was submitted on Feb. 14th and I called every few days between then and this past Saturday April 7th. Each call before this past weekend I was told my escalation was still processing. Finally, on the 7th I speak with a Ms. Jenkins who looks into the escalation and realizes that this whole time the escalation category was totally non-applicable to my situation. The escalation up to this point was basically moot. She had to resubmit it in a different category and said it may take up to 30 days. Woof. I'm just happy someone, somewhere in that place has a brain..
They auto enrolled me the following year after I cancelled and now I'm looking at 2 months of unpaid coverage for early 2017 and have been in "appeal" hell trying to get answers ever since. I received a call from the market place during my appeal and the guy left a voicemail saying to call him back, every time I've tried to get through they have no records of who called even when I give his name - no records so no transfer. I ask to speak to the dept. handling my escalation and they say their "internal support team" will not allow them to transfer the call... wtf... I told the most recent girl I would be leaving a poor customer service review at the end of the call -- she transfers me to the spanish speaking line so the review for my "most recent interaction" wouldn't be linked with her - it would be on the spanish rep she connected me to. Despicable, unethical crooks.
