If you ever decide to lose weight and earn money, don't enter their team challenge. Despite meeting all of your goals to qualify for the top 3 prize, they can conjure up a bunch of secret hidden rules on the spot that will put you out of the top 3. If you have previously entered any challenges, win or lose, do not enter any other challenges as they will use that against you if you do meet your goals for future challenges. Best motivation to lose weight is for your benefit, not through this financial incentive they offer. The amount of stress I have acquired through losing their challenge through a bunch of made-up baloney has countered any of the health benefits I have set for myself through their challenges. My team ended up not winning the prize we were supposed to have won due to miscalculations on their part. I have even provided evidence that they have made a miscalculation, but it doesn't really matter what you have to say to them. Since they have only 1 stubborn person doing the calculations, you're at a loss since it's their rule that they have the final word. Basically, they can commit fraud and get away with it. I am shocked that they are featured on some of those popular channels.
Lost the weight and healthy wage paid as promised. Thank you for providing the motivation to keep going.
Cheers to hitting your goal and winning your HealthyWager!
My partner had started a healthy wage challenge and sent me a link worth an extra prize amount totaling $140 if I signed up for a new challenge as well. So I signed up. I never would have signed up if not for the bonus "boost" money because the prize amount was initially to low to be worth it in my opinion. Then once I paid my challenge fees I noticed they did not apply either of our prize boosts. We both emailed Healthywage and complained but they claimed we were ineligible because we have done a challenge before. No where on the details page of the bonus link did it mention that... and now they refuse to refund and cancel my transaction. SCAM!
Update 02/18/21
After reading my review here on Sitejabber the Healthywage team finally decided to acknowledge my request for a refund. They refused to even respond to my refund inquiries the first two times I asked but apparently if you publicly call them out on this website they become more receptive and a lot less hostile. I settled for a partial boost.
In response to the comment made by Healthywage: your terms are extremely unclear, a person has to dig through the site and the fine print to find it. Have better customer service and business ethics and post that information on the main page of the boost where it will actually be seen by people. And stop sending people emails for boosts that they are not eligible for. I received an email for this same boost a day after posting on this site about you not giving me the boost. Shady as F.
HealthyWage is not a scam and has been successfully paying winners every year since 2009, with over $13.6M in 2020 alone. We offer an amazing referral program where both the referrer and referee get compensated; however, as stated in our Referral FAQs, we do not compensate for referring existing HealthyWage customers: "Referral boosts accepted by fake or duplicate accounts, repeat participants, or accounts that have been cancelled or gone into delinquency will be removed from both the sender’s and recipient’s accounts." You were not eligible for the referral boost because your partner had already successfully referred you in 2019 when you participated in your first HealthyWager challenge. The rule against referring existing customers is neither unclear nor uncommon; most businesses have this rule, as far as we are aware. For more information on our referral program, please visit our Referral FAQs at www.healthywage.com/healthywager/referral-faqs. While we did agree to cancel and refund your challenge, you decided to continue with a $40 boost (same as the referral amount) that you were eligible for. We would appreciate it if you would update this review! Thank you.
I am so glad I invested in myself over the last 9 months with HealthyWage! I had seen information about the company before, but I was hesitant to put money on the line, mostly because of a lack of confidence in myself to lose the weight. I have battled being overweight/obese my entire adult life but have lost the weight successfully 2 other times: my freshman year of high school and for my wedding in 2013.
I realized that to meet my weight loss goals, I needed the push of a specific goal and a deadline like I had with my wedding, and HealthyWage provided that for me! After playing with the calculator, I knew I had 9 months to lose 60 pounds. I put in $100/month and if I succeeded, I would get $2474 paid back. I also joined as many mini-challenges along the way that I could and beat all of those! In addition to providing me a goal and deadline, HealthyWage offered a financial incentive and made losing the weight a competition for me... A competition that I didn't want to lose. I pushed to win every mini-challenge, and ultimately, my HealthyWage! I am healthier, happier, and grateful for this company!
Thank you, Kristen, for sharing about your weight loss journey and experience with HealthyWage. And, CONGRATS on your incredible success not just with your individual HealthyWager but ALL your mini challenges! It's great to hear how HealthyWage was a motivating tool in your weight loss journey and we wish you the best in your maintenance journey!
This company is just one step above being a scam in my opinion. They fill people with false hope that money can motivate them to lose weight. In few cases, it can. They advertise paying out $10 million to people who have won their bets. Thats great, but at the end of the day WAYYY more are losing. This company is making a KILLING betting on peoples failure and 90 percent of the time, they win. Don't take those odds. Don't pay these people for no reason. Also, YOU CAN NOT CANCEL. Let me say it again, YOU CAN NOT CANCEL REGARDLESS OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR INJURY. If you get injured they will only pause your account and it may not even get approved to be paused. There is NO cancelling. Healthy wage "the company that cares so much about people" will threaten to send your account to collections if you remove your card from the service. Do yourself a favor. Lose weight on your own terms on your own time and don't throw away your money! I have lost more weight than ever and am way happier than when I tossed away hundreds to these crooks.
HealthyWage is 100% legit and has paid out OVER $55 Million to winners since 2009 and more than $2.3 Million and counting in just 2023 alone. Generally, we do not allow cancellations, which we are extremely transparent about in our FAQs and T&Cs as it's important part of the service we provide is helping you avoid quitting, which would be undermined if you could simply cancel. Our finance team does have a few exceptions to pause, such as if you’re pregnant, or have a medical condition/injury. Our amazing support team works endlessly to help accommodate each participant in need. If you would like to discuss more about your challenge status and options, we encourage you to reach out to our participant support directly at info@healthywage.com for assistance.
I had a great experience with HealthyWage! I was on a HealthyWager challenge for over a year and had zero issues with their website or their app. I signed up to lose 60 pounds in 12 months. My payment was $75 a month. My prize was $2905 if I won. I took advantage of their "buy extra time" option. Which meant I would pay $75 a month for 6 more months. My prize would still remain $2905 if, in the end, I lost 60 pounds. It is explained in several places that when you extend your time this money is NOT being added to your prize money so I'm sad to see some of the poor ratings given to HealthyWage because a couple of people didn't carefully read the guidelines. My 2 verified video weigh-ins went off without a hitch. The confirmation that I met my goal and was a winner went off without a hitch. My prize money arrived in less than 2 weeks after I was declared a winner. All in all, I paid HealthyWage $1350. I made a profit of $1555. And I lost 60 pounds! I have nothing but praise for HealthyWage! I highly recommend their HealthyWager program and will continue to share my personal and positive experience with them to others!
We participated in a Healthwage challenge and despite being in the top 3 teams every week, 4 teams showed up the LAST week and took all the prize money. THIS IS A SCAM DO NOT USE! If I could file a legal complaint I would, but their rules are air tight. We did all the right things and they didn't care. We even used a paid trainer, tracked our weights every week and was the highest team to lose weight and we still didn't win. SCAM SCAM SCAM!
HealthyWage is NOT a scam. Erin, you participated in a $10,000 team challenge. For that challenge format, the top three teams each win a major cash prize, and your team was not in the top three.
The teams that ranked higher than your team worked really hard too -- they just didn't weigh-in as often as your team, so you didn't realize how close the competition really was. As a rough analogy, if this was a football game, it seems like you would be saying that you were in the lead the whole game, but at the end, the other team made a big comeback and won. Is that upsetting? For sure! But is it unfair? Absolutely not! It's that nature of competition.
Your statement that HealthyWage doesn't care is way off base. Of course we care -- very much! We are sorry you didn't enjoy the experience. You might want to try our personal HealthyWager, where you are not competing against other people. Every individual that achieves his/her chosen goal in his/her chosen timeframe is guaranteed to receive his/her prize. You don't have to worry about how well the other people do. If you are still on your weight loss journey, you might want to check out that option.
I just received my $1377. 00 check. The process was exactly what they said it would be. I was going to lose the weight anyway. Why not get paid for it?
Way to go Cheryl and congratulations on your weight loss success!
Answer: Hi, Dana! With our individual HealthyWager challenge, your cash prize is your total investment PLUS a profit up to 300% (you will ALWAYS get a profit and not just your money back). Your profit is based on a number of factors such as your challenge details (weight loss goal, challenge length, monthly bet) along with your current height and weight. Check it out and play with the free prize calculator at www.healthywage.com/healthywager
Answer: Hi Eric, That timing is absolutely correct, assuming the Winner Confirmation form has been completed. I see that our support team told you on January 11th that you had not yet filled out that form in order for our review to be finalized. The timeline noted above applies as soon as you complete that. Thanks, Kate@ HealthyWage
Answer: Hi, Michele. Yes, you can participate in another HealthyWager (our individual weight loss challenge completely customized to you with a huge cash prize up to $10,00!), after you complete your first! In fact, many participants like to break up their weight loss goal into a few HealthyWager challenges and have found it effective and motivating for both weight loss and maintaining it. Do know that if you win a HealthyWager and start a new one, your starting weight will be your winning weight from your last HealthyWager win. For more information, visit our "Yo-Yo Rules" at https://www.healthywage.com/faq/yo-yo-rule-faqs or contact our participant support at info@healthywage.com.
Answer: Hi, Dee and that's a great question! While we give you the flexibility to choose how you want to lose the weight, we do provide support through our Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/healthywageofficial), email and our participant dashboard that gives challengers access to our HealthyWage Coach. Our email support includes healthy tips and guidance for nutrition and exercise while our participant dashboard allows you to chat with fellow challengers and share tips, support, and encouragement!
Answer: Hi, Maria. The earliest you can weigh-out for the challenge is 2 weeks prior to your end date, even if you have met your goal early. If you meet your goal early, you'll just need to maintain or continue losing (as appropriate) until that weigh-out window opens. We want to encourage weight loss and weight management over time. Our goal is to help you get the weight off and keep it off, develop new habits, and a new lifestyle over the course of your challenge.

Answer: HealthyWage is not a scam. We've been around since 2009, have provided corporate weight loss challenges for some of the world's biggest companies (Johnson & Johnson, CVS, GE, etc.), and have paid out over $13M to winners (who lost over 785,000 pounds!) in 2019 alone. In addition, the BBB gives HealthyWage an A rating. HealthyWage has a rating of 4.1 stars from 135 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with HealthyWage most frequently mention weight loss, extra motivation and time frame. HealthyWage ranks 7th among Weight Loss sites.
Sounds like you were in a team challenge. Those can be quite competitive and the referee sometimes has to make a call that benefits one team and hurts another. Just like in sports, sometimes the losing team feels bad and yells at the refs. We don’t like it, but we get it. We’ve all been there. Please try another challenge. Maybe consider an individual HealthyWager, which doesn’t involve the possibility of losing to another team — it’s all about achieving your own personal goal.
