After likely deleting my notice regarding items I won, I became worried that something had gone wrong. Upon calling and speaking with a very nice agent, I was quickly assured that my auction win had indeed been shipped slightly late. Sure enough it showed up in my mail the next day!
In current bids it says the name of the auction NOT the Auction House. No location to down load a resale tax form ahead of time. A bidder can't change their credit card it's just one choice. The return policy needs addressed because a number of these auction houses don't verify what they are selling. AKA selling gold filled as gold! Other options of payment would be good Zell, PayPal etc.
As soon as I won a bid the live auction page scrolled to the bottom and greyed out because your survey form was trying to pop up.
This is not a good design. No one wants to miss out on a bid because you've highjacked the page for your own marketing purposes.
I am an avid online auction bidder. I win some and I lose some but when I win it is usually a very good deal. Occasionally I am disappointed when I pick up but not very often. My husband says I am addicted to bidding. Fortunately, I am a furniture flipper so I always make enough money to bid on the next online auction.
The local auction houses that i do business with are on HiBid.
As a new bidder to this site-
LIKES: 1) I like the platform in that you can use search engine in several different ways. A) I like that I can search for a specific area where auctions are taking place b) I like that I can search for and bid on a particular item. 2) I like that each auction is split and I can have several auctions going at the same time. 3) I like the watchlist potion…whether I am bidding or not…I like to watch bid items and other items for future pricing.
DISLIKES: 1) I do not like that fact that when I select the watchlist…the money I am bidding is shown as one lump sum. None of my bids are split so I cannot tell (unless I try to calculate) which auction has which amount? I would like to see the bid total for each auction in the title of each auction house. This way I can gauge how much I am spending for each auction. In other words…split the money to each auction. This lump sum thing is confusing. Keeping a total at top is fine but I need more specifics about each auction.
2) I understand that some auctions are different than others. But the invoice should be automatic for every auction. I should receive one immediately after the close of every auction. I have paid for several auctions (has hit my bank account) but I still have yet to receive an invoice on a few. This should be automatic so I can see what I won and how much money will be taken from my account.
Because it has so many different ways to auction. I love having all this stuff at my fingertips. Thank you HiBid!
Someone on your side was texting me updates and I want to say thank you for the updates, this was my first online auction and because of you I will be bidding on more auctions
The HiBid system: slow to process bids, especially live auctions //no feedback mechanism for buyers to leave sellers feedback//inconsistent auction rules with some sellers being downright deceptive//inability to filter out international auctions//most recently I cannot login//I've lost auctions and money due to the disfunction of the app and system.
My experience with River City Auction was horrible.
Realized after getting home they didn't give an item that I bid on.
One of the items was missing almost all the parts.
The refrigerator with a "small dent" was completely gashed in on a corner.
While trying to find one of my items. They said it was "sold out" and offered to let me use my 7 dollar bid to pay for something 7 dollars retail from the warehouse. That's ridiculous. The item I bid on, had a much higher MSRP.
Many of the items were junk bulk items that they made seem like individual products.
I don't know of any other auction services. I don't think this is HiBids fault other than letting dishonest auctioneers like River City Auction on their platform.
I enjoyed the experience. It was my first time, so I'm not sure if they will contact me with a list of the items that I won and when they will be available for pick up
I called the toll free number and asked the question about Will I be receiving an invoice for my winning items and they walked me through have to contact the local location. I called them with no answer so I will try them again tomorrow.
My son and daughter-n-law invited me to start watching your auction.
I usually love Hibid. However my most recent transaction has left me weary. I was never notified if I had won or not. It said you may have won. And pick up was the day after the auction. I reached out after not hearing from anyone then only had 2 hrs to pick up my item and by that time we were literally in the middle of a tornado.
I find great auctions on Hibid
Being older,i cannot get out much & i used to love going to auctions with my husband. Now we can enjoy without driving in dark or strange places
Good reputation
I make sure my high bid is placed well before the start of the auction, as there have been 'disconnects' at critical points.
Local auctions use this platform.
Asked question about an item and got a good response. Use on other auctions went very well. Ease of payment and pickup
Answer came quickly and item selections were great. Have used High Bid a couple times and was very happy with my purchases and the ease of the app.
Great variety on sale
I bid on a few items on an auction held by Treasuries LLC. The auction, according to the information was to be on 7/21 at 11am est. However, on 7/21 around noon, the date of the auction was suddenly changed to 7/28 at 11am est. When I woke up on 7/22 I found that I had been outbid on everything overnight, many of them doubling in price. Every other auction I have bid on has been great. Its sad to see this happen. The HiBid site has been great overall.
Found the site randomly, but saw some interesting items up for auction at reasonable prices. Decided to give it a try and have had a great time using this site overall. Only one issue so far, and it wasnt the websites issue.
No real problems or issues. Just made my bids and monitored them with my watch list until final hour of bidding.
Always have good auctions I can trust.
Fun to bid and win, just be cautious about the buyers fee of 15 percent and then taxes. I don't understand paying tax on fees
They have a variety if goods to bid on.
Bought 15k worth of items in the last 7 days. The buyer fees are pretty high. Be nice of those would be 12-15%
Other than that, its a great platform with great inventory.
Google did!
Worked great no problems.moved fast and accurate.very nice to start with watch list and keep track of everything your watching.
Good platform. Easy to bid and keep track of auction.
Waited a long time because five items could not be located, now I have to wait for a refund, annoying
The website functions as it should most of the time, the app however is incredibly frustrating and crashes constantly which resets all search parameters ect
Sister reccomended it,found some great deals
The platform is great and gathers auctioneers, all, at the same place. Convenient. However, there are a couple of changes that happened in the last year or so that affected the location feature and email notifications (on my end perhaps). In the past, I was able to default the Hibid homepage to Ontario. Now, I had to save a link to ontario.hibid.com in order to acces it faster but soon as I leave the page, it defaults to the origibal Hibid.com. I tried different browsers but cannot get that back. Another issue is that I lost immediate email notifications soon as I am outbid on a lot.
Another room for improvement is to guide auctioneers to post more photos of the "actual" product that are more descriptive of the item(s) and indicative of the condition of the item being sold. Some just post a single photo with little to no detailed description which makes it hard to bid on. Surprises happen on pickup which are not always fun. They should make some effort for us bidders.
Other than tht, great platform. Keep it going.
For the Variety of auctions
Great email communication about all of my bids, and the instructions have been very straightforward and easy to understand

I have had a good experience with online only auctions with soft close.
I have had a bad experience with webcast auctions. I won an item and drove 2 hr 15 mins to pick it up and found out they sold it to someone else even though it showed I won the lot.
There are a lot of auctions available.
2 different bids came down to last minute and froze so I could not increase my bid, so I lost both items. A carved wooden picture frame and stife hedgehog
Gives me best variety of auctions at one time near me
Site was easy to navigate. The bidding process was smooth. Commercial liquidators were great to work with. Overall great experience and received items for a substantial savings.
Auctioneer uses service. Commercial liquidators.
Once registered it's so easy to scroll through the lots and either mark for an item you want watched or to just bid on the lot.
Didn't have very many glitches in refresh. Went smoothly on the last two auctions that I participated in.
This platform is what several of the auction houses use. Hibid is easier than Proxibid. So enjoy bidding.
