After likely deleting my notice regarding items I won, I became worried that something had gone wrong. Upon calling and speaking with a very nice agent, I was quickly assured that my auction win had indeed been shipped slightly late. Sure enough it showed up in my mail the next day!
In current bids it says the name of the auction NOT the Auction House. No location to down load a resale tax form ahead of time. A bidder can't change their credit card it's just one choice. The return policy needs addressed because a number of these auction houses don't verify what they are selling. AKA selling gold filled as gold! Other options of payment would be good Zell, PayPal etc.
Overall my experience was great. I didn't spend much time searching but eliminating categories would have helped me. The fact that the bidding premium is different auction to auction, it would have been nice to know earlier. I spent very little time on searching for either of the above items as was having a little trouble going back and forth searching on my I phone
Have bid in the past
I have been using Hibid for 5 yrs. The handling fee starts at $1 and I have seen it at $5 on some auction...so you pay a buyer premium at 15-18% then 13% tax and then your so called handling fee. This handling fee was introduced when covid started and now it is just a money grab. Stop screwing people

I am a new buyer online auction. It took a little getting use to multiple things being auctioned at one time, so I missed a couple of items that I was interested in where someone outbid me on an item. I will be ready next time.

It is always great when you can view the whole auction on one page. The only downfall is, when you want to view an item, it opens a seperate page.
Always find great deals.
No surprises (other than some price spikes) no screen freezes, HiBid, the platform is more stable than it was 6 months ago when auctions would crash - mid-auction.
Pages were fast and nimble making the focus on lots easier
I asked how to get a tax exemption via email - they responded within 2 hours and within three they had the documentation and my tax ID in the system - very professional

Most experiences have been positive but some sellers do not have online payment systems which i think would be mandatory for an online auction. Some of the sellers shipping is confusing and not seamless with the experience

See my email content to Pot of Gold and their shipper. I bought a single long gun of which their shipper tried to charge me over $175 to ship from AZ to VT. I ship firearms all the time and ship coast to coast for about $45 or less. Pot of Gold told me they were getting someone else to handle their shipping but only got their shipper WestSide Mail Center to drop that $60 to $115.79.
That was three weeks after I had paid for the auction. Now a week and a half later their shipper hasn't even brought it to FedEx. As a business owner I realize my reputation is based on how I do things and on how well I choose those who do things for me. I would give both companies an F at this point. If I could leave this review with no stars I would..
I never got notified I had the winning bid. The photo still shows I MAY have won and no price. I get a call from carter liquidation that they need my credit card info. In order to even bid at an auction, they take all that info BEFORE I'm able to bid. So they had the info and no need to call, unless they are pulling a scam. So between the bid not showing I won or the amount, and a weird call and text on Xmas Eve, I decided to cancel $4 bid. Not worth the hassle. Then he starts to threaten me that he'll block me from all auctions.
Avoid this auctioneer as he wreaks of scam.

Hi bid gives me all the excitement of a live auction from the comfort of my home. The format is amazingly easy. It guides me every step of the way. I've never had any problems with fairness or accuracy. I specifically choose auctions that use Hibid for these reasons.
I chose Hibid because it seemed to be the most liked option of all my favorite auctions. I’ve never had a problem.
As a person that used to go to in-house auctions, I found the on-line bidding much better. I bought many items that I wanted. I was able to bid from the comfort of my home. I will be using the site in the future.

I suggest you don't bid on anything that doesn't have an actual picture. If only stock photos are being used, the auction house is hiding that there are issues with the units. I will be contacting customer service. This is a statement meant to be directed at the auction houses themselves and not the platform.

This is an excellent way to find those things you need and have been searching for, also other things that you don't and want. Some sites are very good in pictures, size and description, others need some work as one picture does not cut it. Appreciate the work involved and you can go and look at it, sometimes it's just not possible. Overall it is a great experience and the site staff are all very helpful.
Actually HiBid chose me. There was a local action house that I frequented that joined HiBid, and I’m glad as it opened so many more doors. There are many people that I have recommended to HiBid that are as addicted now too.

Hibid should be ashamed of ruining something that could of been platform for the good auctioneers that do legitimate business on there site, by allowing illegitimate and immoral ones deceive through customer as long as they get there cut! How pathetic. The good auctioneer should get together and start a respectable company that people would be happy to support for sure! Why is so hard to be successful and do the right thing? Many people do accomplish this unfortunately not hibid. What a shame!

They allow sellers to repeatedly scammed there customers with out any problem doing! That suck for the good one on there! But I guess they don't care!

The whole process was excellent. Loved how I could save my favorites and bid on them as they came up. Logging back on/off was simple as the auction went on. Only wish there was a way to show estimated shipping charges, I'm hesitant to bid on other Hi- bid auctions in other states. Been burned before on huge packing and crating fees on top of shipping.
Close to home, could pick up in person and not pay credit card fees on top of sales tax and buyers premiums.

I don't even know where to start first both of the vehicles I had pre-bids on opened for bid then immediately closed and a red sign came up said pass for no other reason just stopped abruptly. Any request for information from the Auctioneer had no avail. One of the two that they told me I won on pre-bid still did not show that I want it. Then they double charged my bank account for the deposit. And to top it off they said I Won a bid on a car I knew nothing about nothing. Hybrid is a joke!

Can,t figure out the closing which can be enough to piss me off. I spend enough that a friend can get a early close by MISTAKE>? That is not the first time I got screwed might be the last time. In the last year I,ve bought over 20 grand of some good some bad but maybe I can now give up. It was fun while it lasted. To old to get screwed in my younger day $#*! would happen just because.

The company that did the estate sale put stickers on the items to show the lot numbers. The problem is the stickers don't come off. I purchased framed pictures with glass. It is going to take a lot of work to get the stickers off. I guess they did not care about the people's items. The action was great until I got home and attempted to remove the stickers. Bad ending to what could have been an awesome experience.

I was bidding on one item in an auction in Oklahoma. The bidding was easy and fair. The next morning, the auction house sent me my invoice, and my items are being shipped soon. Easy process from start to finish.

Searching individual items and local auctions are very easy. The bidding process is easy and the notification of being out bid are quick. The countdown at the end of the auction is convenient for tracking. I think this is a great platform for reaching online auctions an there are so many unique items available that interest a wide variety of people.
I found an auction that advertised in the local weekly flier and this is the platform for that auction. I now check in regularly to see what local auctions are on the site.

Mostly had good experience with winning auctions and receiving products as expected. I was scammed, robbed, by one auctioneer and when I contacted HiBid twice to explain the situation they never responded. It seems like they don't have a problem allowing scammers to sell on their site and never deliver any merchandise.
I need to add new information about my review. After messaging with the seller and HiBid at least 30 -40 times over a 6 -7-month ordeal I did finally get my merchandise.
