After likely deleting my notice regarding items I won, I became worried that something had gone wrong. Upon calling and speaking with a very nice agent, I was quickly assured that my auction win had indeed been shipped slightly late. Sure enough it showed up in my mail the next day!
In current bids it says the name of the auction NOT the Auction House. No location to down load a resale tax form ahead of time. A bidder can't change their credit card it's just one choice. The return policy needs addressed because a number of these auction houses don't verify what they are selling. AKA selling gold filled as gold! Other options of payment would be good Zell, PayPal etc.
The SAK people had no idea my bidding froze at the final moments of my bids on three motorcycles and were concerned about this happening. I also was not notified of my winning bids by e-mail or any other method. I am not sure but I believe something between my computer and your software or server. Might be something was overloaded handling 2 bid up dates (manually entered) between three items closing at the same moments. Fortunately my bids got through and I was high bidder of all three bikes as desired. It was an unpleasant evening and morning until it was finally verified that I won, but there were a couple of other important bids that could not be completed as your website froze me out of further bidding. Oddly the winner of one of these bids drove from Wisconsin to Central Il. To pick up the items (maybe $20?) an asked the auctioneer why I didn't bid on these items (which were for one of the motorcycles) little did he know I was blocked from bidding and watched it sell while frantically trying to "refresh" my machine to enter a bid.
No one there when my service stopped working (after 8 pm central) while the auction carried on. Otherwise pretty decent folks to talk to ---during business hours.
I like the auctions wide variety in Indiana and Illinois. I was initially upset with SAK Auctions but believe it was unfounded after speaking with them. I would gladly deal with them again. I think H-Bid soft ware should consider altering the closing times on higher priced items or when multiple items are expiring at the same time. Also a lot of bidders probably don't have the bandwidth for some of the situations that happen during bidding. Thanks! Eric S.
HiBid auction keeps you well informed on articles for auction. Their platform is easy to use online.
I was interested.
Great flexibility to put in a bid and also a max bid. Receive email alerts if outbid. Always very friendly and helpful when I go to pick up my items.
My daughter referred me
Most recently I participated in 2 online auctions closing within a day of each other. The first, Key Online auctions forwarded unpaid invoice almost immediately asking to check for accuracy and advising that customers who required shipping to call an employee the next day. I did so and corrected invoice and completed payment within 10 minutes. The second auction, Affordable Creations, said to email as they were so busy and this more efficient. I spent hours compiling email saying wanted shipment insured and asking for gift boxes and that I wished to charge purchases to a US $ Visa or complete a US $ etransfer. Instead they charged my purchases on my Cdn dollars Visa so I've been charged with high conversion rate plus credit card fee. I've never had this happen where an auction house charges before verifying with customer amount charged is correct or I would have switched payment info when I registered to bid. Disappointed with customer service and frustrated with process used by Affordable Creations. I doubt I'll ever purchase from Affordable Creations again.
No choice as in order to bid on an online auction must register with Hibid. I have been attending auctions for decades and now post Covid the vast majority are online now. All are represented by Hibid or their competitor Proxibid. Hibid needs to ensure the auctions under their umbrella act consistently in how payment collected. Never before have I been charged before I confirm the accuracy of the charge. If I had been advised prior to registration for the Affordable Creations Auction that invoice would be charged prior to my approval I would have spent the time to correct payment info to USD credit card. Hibid must ensure that the auctions they represent follow this consumer protection law. I feel duped.
Would like a notification about the auction starting. If I'm outbid, it takes too much time to access the live auction.
The app on my phone kept opening and then closing down. I had to use my laptop for the actual auction.
For the variety of items and because it can be shipped or I can choose to go and pick up my items.
I typed in name brands I'd be interested in buying, found goodies to bid on and won at a very reasonable price!
I was connected through Estate Sales.
I am an avid auctioner and I love Hibid. Most of the auctions have great pictures however, some do not.
Easy and convenient
I usually watch auctions weekly and bid on things often. Some I win, some I don't but it is good to be able to do this from my home.
I just ran across it one day a couple of years ago online and started participating in auctions that are close to my home.
I really like the format of the website, you can save items you are watching, email notification settings are customizable. Most auctioneers do a great job of sending you the invoice and notifying you of when your items ship.
Easy format to bid online.
I put a bid in on a fryer and range, at time sq hotel auction. My hi bid was $80 and the nobody bid against me so the hi bid was a dollar and I won they didn't honor my winning bid or accept my hi bid of $80 after seeing that I won I paid $ 500 for shipping and had to cancel that and lost the $500 for reserving the truck and help
can't recoup a dime
I haven't had any problems with using HiBid!
Plenty of time to check out the auctions and easy to sign up to bid.
Easy to use!
It keep refreshing like every 30 seconds instead of the 60 seconds so I had to give up on trying to bid to win
Close loct& has the things I need to do projects around my house
I bid on 3 boxes of factory ammunition, according to the description, and won all three.
I drove 2 1/2 hours to pick them up but there was NO ammunition, just empty brass.
The auctioneer (Spear Auctioneer, Russellville AR) just said "Oh we're sorry, we e thought it was loaded ammunition".
Forty dollars in gas and five hours of driving.
Total incompetency.
Easy to find auctions, although the auctioneers may be inept and not vetted.
Overall great experience. Going to pick up items is always easy. They are quick to help and always pleasant.
Close to home
Used platform to bid on auction. Received wrong item. Called to advise and they have done nothing to help.
Only option
Tried for over an hour to get logged on so I could bid, never was successful, not sure what the problem was Oh Well...
Always a good experience. Auction both online and also the pickup afterward. Organized and always willing to help.
Because I follow local auctions. Sitting on my couch I can check out all the photos and decide what I want to bid on.
The platform makes bidding easy, and item search is helpful. Wish it had a save item search so I wouldn't have to repeat filling in search metrics.
Was used by local auctions and made it easy to view all in one place.
I buy and sell for a hobby and it is great to be able to do this from home and not stand around at a sale all day waiting for something to sell
Estate Depot in Ozark started doing his sales that way during the pandemic and that way we could keep doing our hobby
"I got it at an auction" is my favorite thing to tell to my friend when they complement my great purchases.
I found Hibid few years ago when a furniture consignment store near me shared a notice for their weekly Estates auction. Later I learn I could bid in auctions out of my State and even on Canada. I was hooked.
I like that many of my favorite auctioneers are on Hi-bid so it's easy to keep eyes on several listings at the same time.
Easy to use and all my favorites come up on one page. The searches are easy and very complete.
Lots of different lots closing at same time. Was kinda hard to keep up. Bidders needs to put in a hi bid prior to auction closing to assure bid.
Good knowledgeable people
Popular and good platform
Items as described, easy pay and pickup. Auction Rocket do a great job and very organized and Professional at pickup.
