After likely deleting my notice regarding items I won, I became worried that something had gone wrong. Upon calling and speaking with a very nice agent, I was quickly assured that my auction win had indeed been shipped slightly late. Sure enough it showed up in my mail the next day!
In current bids it says the name of the auction NOT the Auction House. No location to down load a resale tax form ahead of time. A bidder can't change their credit card it's just one choice. The return policy needs addressed because a number of these auction houses don't verify what they are selling. AKA selling gold filled as gold! Other options of payment would be good Zell, PayPal etc.
Most auctions are ran well, too many buyers do not inspect the items they are buying, almost everything is used so condition is in the eye of the beholder. I have had very good luck buying and selling with Barnyard auctions in Ottawa, Kansas. But all the local auctioneers have been good, as long as you ask questions and inspect when needed. If an auctioneer refuses to return your call or don't have a inspection time I would be leery.

Once set up, the bidding process is easy. Had to jump through some hoops at first, but glad they have security.
But, the selling experience can be very drawn out, as the credit card processing company sometimes does not do a good job of paying the Auction Houses on time.
Because my favorite Auction Houses use HiBid.
I called Superior Auctions a couple times about pickup location and address and did not get an answer but left a message. They did call me back.
It’s the only place I go to bid on-line. I have used it a few times with good success.
I'm new to this and HiBid makes it easy - the directions are clear and easy to follow with terms defined.

Login was less than comfortable. Typo's and misstatements left me feeling uncomfortable, like it was a scam site.
Once inside everything went beautifully. Bidding was effortless. Loved the choice of categories and the ability to view just my own items.

Auction cancelled 3 of my winning bids, because they did not feel an item went for enough? Very disappointed. And their exact reply to me, when I asked if they even felt bad about it, "Absolutely not. We do it every week." WOW. I know it's only one seller, but you have to watch out for the bad ones.
The auctions offer unique and interesting items, and bidding is a fun thing to do.

I have bid on this site and when I win my items are received. AIKEN VINTAGE AUCTIONS are not honest, nor do they like to respond. Paid 106 on a won item 12/13/2023, and I'm yet to receive my item. No one seems to be able to help me with this. I will say GARNET GAZELLE is a very good Auction. They are honest and items are shipped out quickly and no false advertising or anything… If AIKEN VINTAGE was as honest I would have nothing but good things to say.

I feel like I was taken for my money. I paid for an item I never received and today makes 2 months. This is terrible and my money was taking from me.

Some got no reply and some don’t make any. Sort of excuses or favour to make your request to be easier to make the delivery or pick up. scheduled pick-up or the delivery of item regarding customs duties and charges of handling/shipping cost is kind make it really hard to handle if the location of auction is out of reached
It’s selection of product and mixed content and wide range of goods from toys to antiques and many more to selection of hardwares machines and stuff for all ages
The HiBid site worked exactly as I expected. I made my max offer, received updates if I was outbid and refreshed every minutes.

Easy site to navigate but you don't actually know if you're the high bid winner all it says is you may have won. I haven't received any email or text saying you won what you were bidding on. You can do better with a bit of communication please.
I used two screens. One showing just the items that I was bidding on, and another screen showing the bidding action on all of the items as they were closing. This seemed to work well for me. The very first item I bid on I lost largely because I didn't know that 90 seconds were added if a new bid was entered during the final minute.

The auctions have so much to offer,antique, vintage and new items. I have won so many items for very little money There's always new auctions starting,so it's endless hours of bidding from home. All legitimate and everyone is so pleasant and helpful. I'm hooked on these auctions,and can't wait to see what I win this week.

If you read each auctions details regarding the bidding, everything makes sense. I do wish that it would state floor bid instead of pulled on items. Otherwise, I believe it is very clear and enjoyable.

I recently participated in an online auction with an auctioneer out of Lawrence Kansas using Hibid. I won two items, but they sent a dear john email claiming there was a reserve, and they did not understand the software. Apparently by their own admission many people are affected. There are no terms that states an auctioneer can refuse sale in this situation. Therefore they are not fulfilling the contract and are in fact breaking it. Hibid stated on a phone call they don't have to sell and have not protection for the buyer, the auction company will not be punished. When I mentioned I would submit a fraud complaint to our counties fraud protection the reply was they are only web site an not liable.

I liked the idea you could follow all the auctions happening on that particular day. So lulled into the easy access other than jumping from one website to another, I ended up winning an item well outside my area to pick up. Not worth having it mailed so have forfeited item.

With how Auctioneers can trash you but you don't have a leg to stand on? I may have had problems with three Auctioneers two trying to pull the wool over my eye, the last one I just did not like his pushy attitude? Then the others follow suite and see a bad review and Decline which puts a bad review in and they never used you? Then the ones that trash you and put in "anonymous" in as person writing it. I have had nothing but positive experiences lately, but I am getting "pending" on all I try to bid or it will not let me in at all? HiBid is designed for crooked customers but who protects us from crooked Auctioneers?

Be sure of who you are dealing with, there are enough bad Auctioneers that will take advantage of you and you don't have a leg to stand on?

I've been using the site for some time now, and the new site looks good. But one thing I miss about the old site is the province/state you can browse or search in. Now when you search, it'll search the entire site unless you choose your region first. I don't want to be seeing things from the US if I'm in Canada and vice versa.
