After likely deleting my notice regarding items I won, I became worried that something had gone wrong. Upon calling and speaking with a very nice agent, I was quickly assured that my auction win had indeed been shipped slightly late. Sure enough it showed up in my mail the next day!

In current bids it says the name of the auction NOT the Auction House. No location to down load a resale tax form ahead of time. A bidder can't change their credit card it's just one choice. The return policy needs addressed because a number of these auction houses don't verify what they are selling. AKA selling gold filled as gold! Other options of payment would be good Zell, PayPal etc.

I won an auction for $727.00. I have the receipt that I paid for the item. I never received the item and cannot get a response from HiBid or the seller about getting the item or a refund. DO NOT BID ON THIS AUCTION SITE!

I very much enjoyed bidding on your HiBid auction sites whenever I can. The real reason that I do not bid on HiBid very much is because majority of the auctions are all in the USA and I live in Canada. It is the dollar exchange differents that I do not like and the cost of shipping cost a lot more to have the items shipped to me. I do make bids across Canada in BC, Alta, and Sask, for I know what the shipping cost would be about and I do not have to worry about the Canadian USA Dollar exchange rate,

It looks mighty suspicious. I bid on 2 high-dollar identical items, each separately listed & priced. The difference between my bids was $25. I placed a fairly high reserve bid because I hoped to win both auctions even though I was occupied elsewhere at the time the auction closed. Curiously, I won both items at the highest possible bid price on each identical item (both different prices). My winning bids on both items was the exact amounts of my reserve bid. The odds of that happening is extraordinarily small, unless someone had access to the bidding amounts. It has the appearance that somebody (could it be the seller [HiBid]?) had access to my reserve bid, knew what it was, and bid sufficiently high that my bids were the winning ones, thereby forcing me to pay the highest possible price. Hmmm?

This is an allegation. The owner assured me this is not true, and that nobody has access to bid amounts. He told me it is completely aboveboard. Despite his assertions, I am suspicious and don't trust this business. I have scant confidence bids are not manipulated to extract the highest price.

This place is sending spam texts without permission. There is no way to opt out of them, I was forced to block them. They have alot of nerve taking advantage of having a registered user's phone number! They did the same thing with emails!

Their site is convoluted, very difficult to sort to find items of interest at nearby auctions. Auctions are like the wild west, as they give deceitful descriptions, hide item condition within photos and fail to reply to emails. I've received items that were broken, filthy and had to be tossed in the trash! I'd have never bid on them had the photos shown these issue or description stated them. The auction houses apparently have no required guidelines in regards to honesty or showing what one is bidding on! Many of the shipping handling charges and buyer fees are extremely high, adding upwards of 35% to your bid. Be very careful. I will think twice before bidding on any auctions on hibid. They apparently don't jury their auction houses!

I'd say highly unethical sums up this site as well as many of the auction houses on it. I give it 2 stars versus 1, only because I know there are some good auction houses, but with the site being so oversaturated it's hard to find them!

Awful company that hosts auction houses that inflate bidding through their computers, set catastrophic shipping costs and then make you pay for it even though it's not the right shipping cost. Spread lies and slander you even though it was their fault and the issue is there an their unprofessionalism altogether. Once I've purchased an item and they charged me $60 for shipping without even asking my permission to charge the card. That item then arrived not in the same condition as described the dolls I've purchased were not new but they were all open. Then another experience I had again they charged my card without permission and then lied about shipping the order out, I waited for a week for my order that never arrived and when I contacted them they told me they dispatched it but then checked and said they never have. After I'd ask them to do their job they slandered my name saying that I disrespect them mistreat their workers canceled my entire order and banned me from an auction. I mean these people are disgusting I honestly do not know of a different word to use. And they're going to get what's coming to them that is for sure because karma always pays off in full. You are this nasty this malicious to the people, do not expect anything good to come to you. You will be struggling for the rest of your life until you find your grave. This entire website is overall shady. Do not spend your money there.

Beware re-sellers of this auction house. Most houses I bid with on HiBid are just fine. Pictures are not always great, and will use a stock photo'(s), but throw in true pictures. It's when they use ALL stock photo's and no actual item pictures that violates HiBid rules. I am quick to let them know that this is a violation of their terms. It does help. This auction house however was different. They tried to pass off items I had not bid on; trading out items that I HAD bid and won. Six of my items came up missing. One I found buried under a pile of clothes.The "young lady" that was checking in buyers told me "she did not know it was there", and then immediately was texting when I told her it was my item (I did give back the wrong item, and took mine). I also text Ms. Styles to let her know "I still would like my items that I had won". No response. This is where HiBid could help. However they will not. I currently bid with 4 local houses in Houston. Most are decent. ATX and 4CS, as well as Martindale are pretty fair and honest. Stay clear of Lamont Estate Auctions by Emily Styles. They are not honest. I hope this helps another re-seller. I respect the auction houses, and want a good working relationships with them. HiBed could Vet their Auction houses better. However the Auction houses should be responsible, and shoulder, repercussions for being shady or dishonest. Beware my fellow re-sellers. For me; this house is dishonest.

I am bidding and buying in online listed auctions across the country for my specialized hobby of collecting glassware. HiBid has a lot of auctions! Thats the good part. For me the hard to use part of the software is that its so clunky and slow! Today I sloughed through 64 pages of query results to see what items are up for auction. But the worst part is that it takes 6 seconds to page forward every time... and if I query an item, it goes way back to the start of page again after waiting and waiting again. And all this wouldnt be so bad if i could narrow my search query by using Boolean commands like NOT, AND, OR and such. Having said all that, I still use HiBid every day. Each auction and auctioneer is different and there are hundreds and hundreds of them, many just small town, part-time businesses. For the most part, I'm amazed at the wonderful, cooperative folks Ive dealt with. Blame HiBid for not upgrading their servers and programming, but they dont control the auctions and auctioneers! My suggestion is dont be afraid to ask questions of the auctioneers during the auction. Questions about shipping, packaging, item condition, additional photos and such. You will generally be quite happily surprised. Still, buying on the internet is like going through the drivein at McDonalds or buying a lottery ticket... you never quite know what you will get. And thats part of the fun!

HiBid misrepresented a Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal vacuum I that won at auction. The vacuum I purchased was missing the Motorbar Cleaner Head, even though the photograph showed it included. Instead, it came with a "hair screw tool," a photo of which was included but I couldn't tell it was not the Motorbar Cleaner Head. NONE of the accessories that typically come with a Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal vacuum were included. The charger and docking station were missing. HiBid falsely showed the wrong photograph. Moreover, they did not disclose in the description the accessories were missing. I did not inspect the item in advance because I relied both on what typically comes with a Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal vacuum, and that HiBie would accurately represent the item and photograph the actual item.

Tip for consumers:
Do not buy auctioned items from HiBid unless you actually go look at the item and you know what you are getting. Do NOT rely on HiBid.

Hibid would be a five star if they never use Hidden Creek Estate Services here in Texas. Worst run online auction I have ever used. Nothing was labeled by lot or item. The woman who ran the auction, Kristy Bundy, was the rudest woman I have ever met. She told us to be there between 3:30 and 4:00. We arrived at 3:50. She was on a conference call with her other job, and told me I would have to wait until 4:30 to help us. She had only one man helping her who she treated even worse. He was kind, but with nothing labeled, he had a very difficult time finding anything. Long story short, I had no way of knowing that the lots were complete. I told her things were missing, but she just became even more rude. It took an hour and 45 minutes to finally get our things. When we got home, I pulled up the photos that she refused to do for us at the location, and she hadn't given us a lot with 19 items in it, and another lot was missing 5 items. We also had to return 4 items that weren't ours, so she messed up other peoples lots as well. We had to return the next day and pick up our things and leave the items. She never said thank you and was still a horrible person. Moral of the story... Never use Hidden Creek Estate Services!

I feel Hibid should remove Hidden Creek Estate Services from the Hibid company.

The software is designed to protect auctioneer. If your card is declined other auctioneers see this. This is a great feature Except when reported information is wrong about the bidder. Proven wrong through NH Attorney Generals office. Corrupt auctioneer charges your card over and over then report you to hibid when they got caught. Seems there should be away to enhance they're software to remove proven false information. After complaining they suggested i reach out to crooked auctioneer i repeat crooked. Hibid also old me after a year i wouldnt have to explain to auctioneers what had happened. This after they declined my bids because of this false information. After talking to other auctioneers in not the only one to have this issue. Its a form of illegal blacklisting which i wish the U.S. attorney general would investigate. How degrading is it to pay your bills and a software says your a dead beat? There are other platforms... answer could be take a deposit when bidding or does this confuse the system writers?

HIbid is an awful platform. My primary complaint is that there is no way to follow up with the item you won. They show the price you won it for and that is it. No totals ( premium & taxes) and most importantly no follow up from the auction house to show if it has been paid, shipping cost and the tracking number. It really is a poorly organized site and difficult to navigate. If you do go back to find the auction house, that may not be the one that is doing the selling. I won an auction from one place, with another dba name, and then when I got the email it was from a 3rd name. WTH.

The actual auction houses are a big mix. Some mom and pops that have no clue what they are doing and probably only started because of COVID and other reputable auction houses. Random denials of ability to bid is another weird thing. Never have I been denied the opportunity to bid until I started to bid on HIBID. I would expect a bit of decency to be given a reason for the denial, but no explanation was given.

Do your research. If the house does not have a website or at the very least accept paypal, move on. It is not worth the hassle and possible exposure to fraud.

To those houses that I have purchased from, I am sorry and thank you for a great item, but I will no longer use HIBID. Luckily, many of you are also on live auctioneers.

I have had a love hate relationship with Hibid. Initially, during covid, I had a horrible time figuring out who the auctioneers were that were selling. The auctions are listed for example " john smiths house in Baltimore MD." Then you win something and the invoice comes from some random place, for example "bills Auction house in Bethesda, MD". It was horrible to sort things out. Then there are some small old timer auctions that, 1. Do not ship, 2. Can't accept any online payments and even one that didn't do email!. Why put something on the internet if you can't ship something. What's the point? I am not talking about furniture, I am speaking about jewelry and books and things.
Anyhow, Its a bit better now. Many sellers use shipping companies that are efficient and good. Still having problems with an auction house that doesn't accept CCards or anything online. Unfortunately, I won something and am still having trouble contacting them because of the time difference between west coast and east coast.
Like I said it is a love hate. The good, is there are some good deals to be had here and the actual bidding part is easy. It is the followup that is a glitch and inconsistent. Thanks

Just had my first experience with HiBid Ripoff auction. Auctioneer must have friends that are on the floor.
Not my connection that failed. The auctioneer didn't want more for the item.
KEEP IT IN MIND IF YOUR NOT THERE THEY WILL SELL TO A FRIEND OR SOMEONE THEY WANT TO GET THE ITEM.

The bidding functionality of the site works well.
The focus works very well when going back to the condensed view of an auction's lots. It is a nice feature to be able to get back to the part of the page that you left.
1.) What is lacking is the ease of use on the site with regard to navigating through auction lots.
I believe at one time (a long time ago), that when the user clicks into an auction lot, you provided the functionality of being able to proceed to the next item in the auction. The time and clicks it takes for a User to toggle back and forth from a detailed view, to get forced back to the condensed view, is (pardon me) insane. Why not give the user the functionality to go into the next detailed view of the next auction item?
The breadcrumb thread at the top is sorted in such a way to be able to see items within a category. Sorry, but if a user is looking through a particular auction, keep the breadcrumb within that auction. Allow users to create a search for a category or item to cover that functionality.
Secondly, the ability for a user to manage their own searches is not available to any user. Why would HiBid, not only want to maintain all of this data, but store it as well? A suggestion is to provide an enhancement for users to be able to delete, or edit their own searches. Most sites leave that to the user. (such as Zillow, Redfin, AuctionZip) I would expect that there are a lot of useless records in your database.

The auctioneers will always raise the bid price themselves on purpose (ILLEGAL!) until it reaches almost original value and the the taxes and buyer premium make up for that difference. NO SAVINGSSS AND DAMAGED ITEMS! And theres no return most of the time. Overpay for used (claimed to be new) and damaged items! Stay AWAY!
