After likely deleting my notice regarding items I won, I became worried that something had gone wrong. Upon calling and speaking with a very nice agent, I was quickly assured that my auction win had indeed been shipped slightly late. Sure enough it showed up in my mail the next day!
In current bids it says the name of the auction NOT the Auction House. No location to down load a resale tax form ahead of time. A bidder can't change their credit card it's just one choice. The return policy needs addressed because a number of these auction houses don't verify what they are selling. AKA selling gold filled as gold! Other options of payment would be good Zell, PayPal etc.
As items I bid on started closing, the site locked an I had to restart. I was then able to update bids but a few items I was trying to increase my bid gave me an error, "oops it looks like the bidding may have closed", even though when I went back to the item page the clock was still active.
It is the platform used by sellers I buy from.
The large 18% commission should lower the items prices by 18% + 3% cc charge. Not sure if going to any more auctions for precious metals is a good idea.
I appreciated getting an email update when I had been outbid. While I missed out on some items I successfully won others and look forward to getting more things I need at reasonable prices.
It was recommended by my friend.
Easy to follow the listings, with good descriptions, photo's and ease of placing bids. Most all of the listing are either very useful for personal use and or great for gifts or even reselling.
Have a lot of local auctions as well of very reasonable shipping costs if shipping is necassary.
So I won the auction the times were so close somebody would have bid I probably would have lost something it should have been like more like 5 minutes apart and then at the end I looked everywhere and there's no links to pay for the stuff I mean overall it was a good process but I still haven't figured out where I'm paying if I should just show up to buy it tomorrow with cash or credit card
Because they don't do competitive bidding anymore where you can actually stand out there and see what you're buying and bit against real people
Went well had fun and won a couple of bids. I prefer the lower premium auctions. I have avoided registering in high premium sales as cost does not justify quality of offered lots.
Trusted friend recommended HiBid.
Every thing went fine, had to drive from Brampton to St Catherine though, but not bad, presented my invoice and paid at the reception, with 2 minutes my item was handed over to me in the parking lot.
Good stuff to explore on very good prices
The floating HiBid band that floats on the screen is a huge imposition when attempting to view and bid on an item.
Overall, I like the format- especially as it gives your bid totals,
This is what the auction house chose.
I have found the hibid auction site to be user friendly, auctions give clearly written instructions and the live auction 1-minute refreshes were great.
Good reputation
I've been using hibid for years, it definitely streamlines how I find auctions. The ability to bid from anywhere without leaving the farm is a huge positive.
Ease of use and the ability to track my bids
Forces you to bid live rather than continue to bid from watch list. This throws you into a chaotic mess thats confusing. Locked up on me twice causing me to miss two items
I tried using the app several times but it would crash about once a minute if I scrolled too fast or asked if to do multiple tasks in a row like clicking on a lot, viewing photos and trying to bid.
It seems to have the largest assortment of collectibles. I was very reluctant because I've heard of the one sided buyer rating system where auction houses can destroy a buyer's ability to use the platform on a whim for retribution with zero ability for a buyer to contest the claims (there is a lot of that feedback around the web), but figured I'd give it a shot.
I used HiBid to bid on a public auction two states over from me. I was able to bid on all the items in real time, received regular updates, and the closing process was incredibly quick and efficient with no unwanted surprises. I plan to use again in the near future.
HiBid had access to the equipment I was seeking to bid on.
With the ease of bidding and the variety being offered, I have become addicted to HiBid. I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad that I didn't discover online auctions earlier…
Curiosity to an email
I found hibid and my addiction to auctions was started. Easy to use and seems secure. Everyone on the platform is friendly and helpful when something goes wrong.
Problem with logins. When I use a link from email I get logged in automatically but going to the app it always fails with same password. Odd. But work around via email was fine.
Stuff I wanted at estate sale was being sold on hibid.
No complaints, no problems, everything went very well as usual…I have found that everyone I have dealt with so far, has been very friendly, and a pleasure to deal with
Someone had told me about it, and I have found a lot of great items…sometimes more than my wife thinks
During the closing bidding, the platform freezes. You have to exit high bid completely.Sign back in to correct the problem.Missing bids and missing auction items
I came to locate a very local and specific item. I had no idea the depth of possibilities and have enjoyed the exploration and experience thus far. What a fantastic website.
It happened by accident.
I bought a "SpotOn" dog collar from a HiBid auction. These dog collars retail for over $1,000. When I tried to link it to their phone app I received notice it couldn't be connected.
I contacted the company and was told the collar had been stolen so they deactivated it and couldn't / wouldn't reactivate it.
This stollen collar was returned to Amazon, then purchased by Hibid to sell on auction.
HiBid sold me a stolen item and would not return payment for the stollen item they sold me.
I have successfully purchased many items from HiBid at a discounted MSRP.
Some items I've purchased are missing a part or are damaged, but on whole, I'm satisfied with most purchases I've made with HiBid.
The fact that I now know HiBid is being used to sell stollen items is very disconcerting.
I am in one state but my billing address is out of another. I live in both places. Due to that out of state address, I was blocked from my third-ever auction from bidding. I called and explaining that I was local. Talked to a great guy and I was unblocked — Only that did not work on all lots. I could still bid on some and could not bid on others. I called back and was told that all was fine on the auction side. Only I was still blocked from most bids. Another call and an email. Talked to someone who sent me on to someone who does tech support. It could not be resolved. I was told to register a second account. For whatever reason, that was not loading. I had bids that I REALLY wanted to place in this particular auction. I attempted to message via particular lots — thinking that they could unblock that particular bid. Apparently, either the calls or trying to set up a second account triggered something or really pissed someone off. Today in an auction I was denied bids. When I called and asked if it was due to the billing address, I was told that it was due to my having been reported as a problem.
I discovered auctions last week. I bid, I pay, I show up and get my stuff on time. I assume my attempts to get someone to fix the software glitch just pissed someone off.
To be reported as a problem seems really inappropriate and wrong.
See above comment.
Found it online while searching for a particular item..
It has been very exciting to keep track of the auction and how the bidding process works. I like getting text messages when I have been outbid so I can decide if I wish to keep going.
They were the choice for the local auction in Pana Illinois that I signed up for.
Initial viewing of the Catalog was simple enough but the overall was smooth and effortless. Thank you for the user friendly platform. It makes the experience wonderful
It has several auctions near home base.
Seller needs to send paid receipts for items purchased and the shipping/insurance costs associated thereto as soon as auction ends and on the next business day.
Founds items I was interested in
I won a few items that were not delivered. I contacted the shipping company and they told me to contact the auction company which should have made a claim. I contacted the auction company and they stated that everything was was loaded onto the delivery truck. No response since. Same auction company I bought 2 paintings from and ups was going to charge 500 dollars to ship 2 infrared paintings in state. I told ups to keep them 65 dollars for paintings and 500 dollars to ship. Someone is getting a kickback
