I paid in full for the rental of an apartment for 6 in Florence through Homeaway. One week before we left, and with no call, explanation or apology, I received an email saying my money was being refunded. At first I thought it was a mistake, but after some time, the owner eventually deigned to email that he had double booked and there was nothing to be done. I do not believe this, because the property was then showing as available on the Homeaway site although at double the price. Homeaway basically have said 'tough, you should have taken out insurance'. Nobody has apologised, nobody gives a damn, my holiday, booked 3 months ago, ruined. The owners name is Hamid Soltani. Never book this property, He will cancel if he thinks he is getting a better offer.
