The employee,Craig, kept us up to date from the night before as to when he would arrive, saving myself and my wife from being stuck in the house any longer than necessary. When he arrived he was very polite and carried out his task without fuss.
Asked us to sign a blank screen with no explanation. Turned out it was us 'agreeing' that we had caused intentional damage. This is a crooked company who collude with suppliers to prevent refunds being given. They should be closed down. Avoid at all costs

Do not use this company. I am still waiting after nearly 6 months now for a repair on my sofa. 4 times they were supposed to have come out. First time was a no show, second was a breakdown excuse, third time couldn't fit us in as didn't have time and yet again Saturday another excuse and couldn't come. Really fed up now. Just want my sofa repaired
We purchased new furniture earlier this year. However after only a few months the leather on one of the arms of the chair was losing colour.
We contacted the manufacturer and they arranged for Homeserve to repair the armchair.
Homeserve visited our home. Removed all the leather from the chair and reupholstered it leaving it as good as new. I was very impressed

Bought two Buoyant Fairfield Sofas. Started pulling as soon as arrived. Sent out Homeserve who said it wasn't a manufacturing fault. It was sitting on the sofa that caused the issue. Yes thats true. I shouldn't be sitting on them. Clayton's Carpets now refuse to engage with me over this report which was about one line that he wanted me to sign. It's now five months on and I am getting an indepent report as these guys are useless. Yes don't buy a sofa to sit on. It causes bad pilling issues. My couch looks old and I wish I'd kept my old one which I could sit on and the one before that I sat upon etc. These guys are cowboys don't let them into your home. Zoom in and see what I'm having to watch growing all over day by day and because of Homeserve I can't get a conversation going with Clayton's
When I called to ask about a mattress review, I clearly asked for details about what would happen during the review and what is being checked, so that my time and money aren't wasted. If I had been told that the mattress has a manufacturer tolerance of 2 to 4cm, I wouldn't have bothered to waste £60 as I can check that myself. Instead, the advisor implied that the inspector would check for a dip in the bed and would make a judgment. Also, the inspector said someone would call me because I am not happy with the outcome, and nobody called... I suspect he was just fobbing me off so he can leave. The report he wrote didn't have details of the dip in the mattress or the manufacturer's tolerance level.
Tip for consumers:
Don't bother using them.
3 visits for a corner section of my new sofa. First visit, inspection only. Second visit, straps were added for support. Third visit, cushion interior was replaced, which clearly didn't fix the problem.
Each report turned out not to be truthful in terms of what they said to you and agreed with during their visit, with the last report saying that 'no issues remain'. The technicians ask you to sign a blank screen, so you don't know what they've written until you enquire about the next step with your furniture retailer and you're told 'case closed based on Homeserve report'.
My sofa's corner section is lower than the adjacent sections. It's visually obvious (see photos) and makes sitting on it uncomfortable and sunken. There may not be a structural fault as such, but if you buy a pair of shoes, left and right marked as same size, both made correctly, but one is an inch shorter and doesn't fit, what would you say?
Furniture Village have now agreed to a replacement, but only after yet another report from HomeServe. How does one fix this perpetual merry-go-round? This repair company clearly is in collusion with the suppliers/manufacturers, because I asked for a different company to make the next assessment and I was told that the supplier only accepts Homeserve.
Engineer came to repair/assess Riser Recliner chair. We were told he would come between 11.00am and 3.00pm. Called their office and was told engineer would call me to give update. He didn't and turned up at 2.35pm He was not able to identify the problem without my help. In fact If I wasn't their with my father in law he would not have been able to identify the problem. I had to help him turn the chair over. I had to supply him with a torch so he could see the workings underneath. His hands were shaking so he couldn't take photographs in focus. He asked me to help him! Problem was a faulty handset. Got a message from the office to supply and fit a handset £220.00 plus VAT and delivery can take several weeks. Outrageous quote. Not fit for purpose, avoid at all costs. Call out charge non-refundable. Called the office. Not interested in my complaint
Had 2 visits from this company at the request of Oakfurnitureland after buying a leather 3 piece suite from them for £2500 which was faulty after 2 weeks with the leather on 1 of the chair arms becoming loose and saggy which was obviously caused by insufficient padding under the leather. On both occasions I was told that they didn't consider it to be a fault and that it was due to fair wear and tear and the complaint was invalid.(After two weeks what a joke!) and they refused to repair or replace it.
I then contacted a well known totally independent firm of furniture experts who immediately said that the chair was faulty and of poor quality. Homeserve furniture repairs obviously do not know what they are talking about or are just fobbing people off to protect the interests of Oakfurnitureland who pay their wages. When they submitted their final report they lied and said they had been at my house for 1 hour when in fact it was about 15 minutes and they said they had removed the excess leather by smoothing it with their hand which is a complete lie and the photos he took where in such a way that the arm in question was in the shade so that the ripples could not be seen. These people are a complete disgrace and should be avoided at all cost.
