I recently signed up with Hostwinds and I must say, the experience has been nothing short of fantastic. From the get-go, setting up my website was incredibly straightforward, thanks to their user-friendly interface.
Web ui is very slow. In client area chat pops up even after I've closed it several times and there's no option to turn it off completely, plus it uses sound, which I've turned off, but this setting is not persisted.
I need to have controls over all port on the server, and that's good that you give it.

I've tried many hosting resellers, most of which are quite pricey. Hostwinds didn't look all that professional but after going through the process and the support team assisting me so quickly I'm impressed - keep up the good work!

I am really happy customer of Hostwinds. They have guaranteed client satisfaction and they have totally fulfilled their promises. Only once I had an issue with email delivery, but after contacting support it was quickly resolved. Till now nothing bad happened, website is up, hardware is functioning well and network has zero packet loss.
Before coming to Hostwinds I have tried lot of other companies. Their tech support team has been my saviour more than a few times! They are always giving prompt replies that are always comprehensive. Highly recommend!

Hostwinds has been my internet web hosting provider for several years...i especially appreciate their prompt and helpful service assistance if i get into a little technical difficulty...the cost price is competitive i think...they have a wide range of self-help website add-ons and helper programs in addition to the usual wordpress options...i am using 3 of the 4 domains that i have available at my level of service and it costs around $11 per month
they have top notch prompt polite customer service for technical issues......they won't build your website for you but they will solve every other tech issue related to the usual technical bumps and bruises that novice users have when adapting to a web host paid service.
I chose hostwinds initially several years ago because at that time they were offering a full 3 years of webhosting for a one time introductory price of something like $40 for one domain...i was a novice and this was a good way to start...prices went up to over $10 a month later which was a big jump for an elderly retired person but i stayed with hostwinds...if i change webhosts in the future it will be because hostwinds raises prices to where they aren't competitive for my needs...i'm a retiree who does a website for pleasure and i conduct no business on the sites, just low level impromptu blogging occasionally, mostly pictures of my dogs...so i make minimal demands on the system and i hope to pay minimally for same.
So far, I've never encountered any problems with this except for that one single time where there was a downtime which was immediately resolved in a matter of 27 minutes. I believe hostwinds will be my last web host.
They have manage to keep my site running smoothly even when it has grown 5 times bigger than it was with the previous hosts and I must say: always with excellent service and response times.
I will continue using hostwinds if they behave in such a good way providing me with quality hosting services.
Value amazing. As everyone probably knows already, hostwinds.com has the cheapest for everything most of the time. I signed up my Economy web hosting through an affiliate link and it only costed me $5/mo. For the first year!

Long story short. We've been in development for 4 years. We were with Bluehost for 4 years. They started out good. Customer support was decent. However, just as we are about to go live, recently we were hit with Malware six times in six weeks. Bluehost suggested we use Site Lock and I said we were. They said we weren't and thus I was unaware that Site Lock was inactive. No one informed me.
Then, we placed Site Lock on our server and we still had issues. I called Site Lock and they told us Bluehost was supposed to provision the Firewall. I called Bluehost and they refused, telling us this was not their job. Customer service has sunk to an all time low.
I did research and Hostwind came up at the top of our list. So, here we are!

Hostwinds is the perfect hosting company for a person with basic linux knowledge but not enough to manage a server.
I signed up for a shared hosting account about a week ago, but did not get around to using it until yesterday. While exploring the various features, I noticed that the SSL was not working properly. I used the chat feature to inquire about it, the attendant got if fixed in a couple minutes. The interface is simple and has all the tools that I need and then some.

I am extremely pleased with Hostwinds. I am only semi-literate on most tech issues, but their instantly available live support have helped me immensely. Any hosting company can brag about their uptime and reliability, but these people really deliver the goods. Their pricing is a great value.
My two sites have been on one of Hostwinds provider's servers for over a year now. Taking advantage of the opportunity can say that I'm happy using their SSD hosting services. They have the online support option which is great but sending them a mail is often better and they will reply within one hour if not a half hour and they'll fix your problem fast!
I'll start with price - it their weakest point, too high in such highly competitive market.
However their service is reliable and decent, you will get all needed features, useful soft and high uptime with your account. Support is also available for all the time and you are free to ask them any question anytime. Overall they deserve 4/5 but I see they have potential to improve their ranks.

Company requires too much information for verification. To verify a US Citizen is too easy. Why not take the person's name or ID and enter the information on any background check app and get the details instead of requesting that many documents be sent.
I contacted them after they thought of their email for the verification process.
They wanted a copy of my ID card and my credit card. I really do not know why. But that does not seem right to me. There has to be a better way of verification without asking very personal documents like that.
I only chose them because of the price. This is my first time using them. I will see if they are any good when I used them for one year.
