I operate a very low volume website on wordpress and with a near $20/m plan it wasn't even capable of using the wordpress control panel. Overloaded shared servers or terrible allocation. I've foolishly used them for nearly 4 years and am extremely glad to have switched. Cheaper and infinitely faster. Never use Hostwinds.

WARNING: There will be a plethora of unexplained additional charges outside of the contract. When I inquired about the charges outside of the annual contract I received no response.
Tip for consumers:
Speed is not stable. There is no way to contact anyone at Hostwinds outside of a the ticket process.

It was easy to reach Hostwinds Tech Support and the requested actions was timely.
Everything went smooth. I didn't know that I couldn't "file-share" via FTP, though. No big deal, there are other ways.
