I operate a very low volume website on wordpress and with a near $20/m plan it wasn't even capable of using the wordpress control panel. Overloaded shared servers or terrible allocation. I've foolishly used them for nearly 4 years and am extremely glad to have switched. Cheaper and infinitely faster. Never use Hostwinds.
Normally when I buy a reseller account I get WHM reseller access to create multiple cpanel account, every domain can have its own cpanel account but this isn't the case with your service. I only have one cpanel account so I can't provide my clients cpanel access.

I have used Hostwinds for years to manage a few small services and test platforms. The service has always been top notch and the few times I had issues, they were resolved quickly.
Of the various hosting providers I checked out several years ago, Hostwinds had the best prices for what I needed. Namely an unmanaged VPS that I could spin up with whatever flavor of linux or Windows I required with the ability to wipe them and load a new OS essentially at will. I don't know how their prices and service compare to other providers today because I have felt no desire to switch providers. The prices seem to be fair and on point and everything just works.

It has not been the easiest or even a enjoyable experience i must say. Not beginner friendly at all, staff dont even look at you or make eye contact to even smile at each other let alone us patients.

STAY AWAY FROM HOSTWINDS! I have called Hostwinds 4 times in the last 48 hours and they refuse to let me speak to a supervisor about my service problems. They say they do not "transfer to supervisors". I have requested four times to speak with the COO, Michael Brower and he will not call me back. I have also passed on my request to Jamie Lewis (in billing) and Kyle Diablo (in technical support). They will not call me or transfer me to a supervisor. They are a terrible company to work with. STAY AWAY FROM HOSTWINDS!

Easy to build a new service when needed. I was able to delete the old one as well when I wanted to pause it for a while. They have concise post rated billing.

I canceled a service but was never issued a refund automatically. Their policy states you must request a refund. You also must request a refund within 30 days of canceling the service. No one should have to request a refund. It can also take 5-7 business days before a refund will show up in your bank account which takes up already 7 days of your time. By the time you figure out that you have to request a refund, your 30 days are finished and they can keep your refund.

I already had a bad experience with hostwinds, they blocked port25 after I paid for IPs that I didnt even use, there was no complaint on my account, nothing, they just did it, so i decided to give it an other chance, I hope I wont regret it. If my experience went well this time I will come back and give better rating

Well, I often struggle with getting purchasing hosting plans that have a decent balance in cost and performance. For me, Hostwinds does a pretty good job.

Hostwinds got back to me and told me that they would usually send out their next month’s invoice early and it would only be due next month. I think the overall experience was great!!
Staff have always been patient in answering my queries. Everything you need to manage your VPS is there, in the clients area. Before I switched to Hostwinds, I was with another service provider on 2 occasions. My experience with that company with bad…And I’ve decided to switch to Hostwinds this time round based on the conversation I had with Hostwinds’ staff online a few years back. They were super knowledgeable in their products and they will go the distance to make you feel at ease, using their products.
I want to thank you for this hosting, you seem support specific locations with cPanel management because I am facing slow transferring data while I am going to use WordPress dashboard, or you may have high bandwidth in shared host plan, I think because you support limited geographic points at the world as a content manager not a visitors, but it is not an issue if customers realized other hostwinds positives by using full authority with professional services you are providing.
I don't advice beginners to subscribe your host even if were minimum limit.

I bought their managed VPS Plans and asked them to set up WordPress with LEMP but they haven't installed NGINX due to which website was almost down for 24 hours then I decided to downgrade from Managed VPS to Unmanaged VPS lack of
Support expertise. I checked available upgrade options on their panel which generated an invoice which I haven't paid as I never wanted to make any other payment to them but they pulled the $109.33 without my permissions and when I asked the refund they said Refund is not possible.
Services are good enough you get a quick response from Level 1 Support but rest of other things are totally mess.
