Indeed has a rating of 1.5 stars from 933 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Indeed most frequently mention customer service, small business and employer account. Indeed ranks 132nd among Recruiting sites.
I have to put up with Indeed.com searching for prospective employees every day. It is an exercise in futility. They literally recirculate the SAME resumes everyday! I keep looking at resumes I have been forced to look at daily, usually poor resumes. They refuse to allow employers to remove crummy resumes, thus they keep coming up. If the candidate updates the resume, then Indeed allows them to post it like it is new in most cases. Indeed's system is so shoddy I waste dozens of hours each month. Poor site, don't use it.
We have spent tens of thousands of dollars with this company they have no loyalty to their customers it took us years to get our ad correct and they just let people copy and paste our ads to their own sites without asking permission. We submitted a complaint they don't respond back all they have is their marketing people respond back trying to get us to spend more and more money but when issues arise they ignore you for almost a month there is no fairness at this company and never respond back. Companies like this will not last long with no Principles
Hi Rahim, we have responded to your review via private message. Thank you.
Employers reviewing job applicants now lot more time consuming because as of August, 2023, Indeed no longer shows employer pre-screen question answers on applicant's 1st page. Now required to click a link to see applicant's answers.
Hi Michael, we can confirm the account holder is already in contact with one of our client success specialists via email. If they have any additional questions or concerns, they can respond back to the email that was sent on the account. Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback!
This has been several weeks that we asked for a deletion of our company account from the website indeed.com and it is not done despite several reminders.
Our company is sensea nordic spa.
The information on this website is impacting our business activities and lower our chances our recruitment because of the false and bashing information it carries. We have started to estimate the financial impact for us for every day they delay the deletion of our account.
UPDATE
Indeed tried to reach us, but never replied to our emails. They just mention this in the review to give the impression that they take care of the problem but they actually dont.
If you are an employer, stay away - I mean very far away - from Indeed, you have tons of alternatives to publish your ads (social media, kijiji, linked in...) and they worked very well for us and are respective of trademark and consumer rights, unlike Indeed.
Hi Christophe. We have reached out via private message, please reply back when you can so that we can look into this further. Thank you!
So I have a computer company in South Africa and was looking for a receptionist or admin worker. I posted thr job and a few hours later got banned. I literally took a proper job description template and adjusted it to suit my business. I am extremely confused. I didnt even ask for a specific gender or anything which I understand would be a problem in South Africa as a lot of women can be easily taken advantage of.
Edit: So it turns out it is part of their process for new users to verify their account. Was assisted surprisingly fast. Thanks
Hello Akshay, thank you for reaching out. A member of our team has responded to your review by private message. If there's anything else we can do to assist, please let us know.
Our company is AK Cargo. We posted sales, recruiting and driver positions on Indeed. We used their job templates, advice and even spoke to our Indeed Account Manager several times. All in all we spent over 4,000 dollars! We never got a chance to even contact our applicants because they deactivated our account and took our money. We filed an appeal and we received a form email back, like I can see 100's other on here also got. We are a small company and this is a great deal of money for us.
Hello Anton, thank you for reaching out. A member of our team has responded to your review by private message.
Indeed disabled my company's indeed account. They asked me to provide some documents and I provided even more than they asked for and yet there is no response from them. I have hired a lot of people from Indeed and I am really shocked that they will ghost me even after I provided them with everything they asked for.

I am a small business owner looking to expand my staff. Posting has been up for over a month and is a simple spa position. At 11pm today, I received an email that my account has been disabled with no explanations as to why. I have phone and face to face interviews this week and next, and now I have no access to those email correspondences or resumes.
Hi Kristian, it is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. If enough information is not provided when the account is being created or we find a violation of our guidelines, then the account will go into the appeal status that you experienced. We can confirm that an appeal was submitted on the account and our Moderation Team has already emailed you letting you know that your account is fully active at this time. Thank you for your patience during this process!
I am surprised that we didn't get more qualified candidates. I also think that you should be able to post a job for 10,15 or 30 days, and get a notification from Indeed that your post is about to expire. Then you can make a decision to continue the job posting or not. This would help to not go over your budget.
Indeed has demonstrated themselves untrustworthy. They knowingly allow employers who spend a lot of money to run employment openings consistently to post misrepresented job posts. They also allow companies to post fake five star reviews on the platform. The company I worked for after obtaining employment through Indeed did both of these things. I complained to Indeed about it but they did nothing. In the six years I was duped but this job posting I have consistently seen these fake reviews on the platform. They don't care what gets posted as long as they make money from he company engaged in wrongdoing. They are not accountable for anything. I ended up in a lawsuit against my employer when, after working full time for a month, they failed to pay me and unlawfully fired me for asking for my pay. My employer called into question the authenticity of the job post so I contacted Indeed to obtain verification of the jist on the platform and when and by whom it was posted. Their customer service agent located it in their archives in five minutes. She told me to send the subpoena to *******@indeed.com. But Indeed objected to the subpoena and refused to authenticate the post. They said it is was improperly served because it i wasn't delivered person. I'm in Florida and their legal department is in Texas. They also said it was a violation of Texas Penal Code, and a violation of the Stored Communications Act- both of which are false. They also said it was "overly burdensome" to authenticate one job post on their site. And they said they don't have to comply with a subpoena unless it's from a case originating in a court within 100 miles of their corporate office in Texas. None of these are valid objections. They were just helping this shady employer from whom they make tons of money from rather than helping me recover my wages by verifying that one job post was on the site and posted my my employer. Indeed is just as shady as the employers who use the platform to scam job seekers. Beware of Indeed!

Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
