They are thieves!

I broke my arm and can't drive.
We needed groceries so I decided to try using them at Publix.
I ordered quite a few groceries on 5/22 so as not to have to do it for awhile. I checked and saw the amt was pending on my acct.
Today I checked my acct and saw it was it was still pending, however, it wasn't alone.
Instacart had added an additional $544 to my account.
That was a total of nearly $1100 for groceries, and it didn't even include lobster.
I called Instacart and was rudely told that it is their policy to add the same amount as the original plus an additional 15%.
They refused to remove it for another 7 days; $544 is a lot of money to me.
I called my bank and they told me to wait until tomorrow, both amts should be out of pending.
If the second amt still shows up they will dispute it for me and put the money back in my acct.
What a rip-off.
Unless you are rich, think twice before using instacart for anything. I've learned my lesson!

My order came to $522.36. I used my bank card.

Unprofessional service

Driver delivered to wrong address. When I contacted him and he finally retrieved my order and delivered it, HE had an attitude complaining he was new to the area and it wasn't his fault that he left my order somewhere else. All the other drivers found me without incident. His name was Michael and he reeked of smoke. He had tied up all the bags and crushed my bread. Good luck jumping thru the hoops to contact Instacart! I am done with this sorry company and give them a F overall. It's the lowest I can give them.

Fraud

Awful business practice, unprofessional. I know for a fact that I opted to be reminded before my instacart membership renewed. A day or two ago instacart charged my membership to a credit card that it did not have the authority to. Naturally, I checked my account settings and found that my notifications for my subscription renewal was turned off. Instacart is a complete scam.

There's always "missing items", but in fact one time I cancelled my order and went down to the store i ordered from, and lo and behold the items were in the store.

The wait time is extremely inaccurate, you pay for an express fee but it still takes the time of a regular order, and countless times ive placed an order that is advertised as "delivery in 2 hours" only for instacart to switch it to tomorrow morning a few minutes after and then saying "oh you have to wait 5 business days to get your refund" huh? I paid 10 minutes ago, exactly how are they unable to immediately give it back?

Unreliable company that I will never trust again, and I will actively tell people I know about my experience and advise against purchasing anything from. I wouldn't associate with this company again even if I had two broken arms.

On August 11,2022, Instacart deducted $105.93 from my credit card account. A notice was sent via email, and I called Instacart immediately and told their agent I did not click on the line requesting a 14-day trial period that leads to a yearly membership. First, they sent an email reply to my phone call that said they were refunding $99 and retaining $6.93 in taxes. I demanded they return the entire amount which they agreed to in later phone conversations, but all other emails still maintained $99. I contacted The Federal Trade Commission. I also contacted GA Legal and my credit card company to dispute the charge. I will contact any other agency to let the public know of what I consider Instacart's unsound business practices. Why I am very angry also is their agent said because of my age I probably did request a yearly membership.

Deceptive Billing

I've used InstaCart because I am handicapped and sometimes I've needed things before my homemaker came to my place. At the end of your order they place a "hold" of such and such amount of money to insure they are paid and you are "supposed " to get a refund within 7-10 business days of the true amount of your bill and that "hold"... several times, now, they have added charges, after the original bill is posted, making my bill increase, therefore not giving me any money back from the "hold" and sometimes even charging me an ADDITIONAL amount! Beware, if the shopper texts you after the bill has concluded and needs/wants to make a change, that change will not be charged to your EBT card, but to your debit or credit card, PLUS, they will give you an ADDITIONAL charge for putting them out! Sneaky charges added. Also. The shopper came to my place with another person, which is against company policy (they run background checks on these people to make sure they are safe to come to your home... I have no idea if that extra person had been cleared). I will not be using this service any longer. I will take a cab, and, as hard as it is for me to walk, I will do my own shopping hereafter... scamming practices...

Instacart Think twice

I have had terrible service. The first 2 years were great. Now in August I was charged over 100 dollars for a subscription. What he f***. Now I have to wait 5 to 10 days, It is there fault i am negative -111. I was told it would be posted immediately. You are a crappy company and I will tell all of my friends to never join your company for delivery. What right do you have to take that kind of fees for subscription

Money every month I pay $10 to be able to order groceries within two hours at 7 PM two days in a row I go online and it tells me after spending all my time picking my items and I finish at 7 PM it tells me sorry no service tonight so why am I paying for and then you call to complain and they hang up on you it doesn't let you speak to someone leave a message nothing Customer Service is horrific horrific

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE! They REGULARLY overcharge me, the order is ALWAYS wrong. Or missing sev items they charged me for, or delivered with items I didn't choose. Their customer service is TERRIBLE and they act like you, the customer is unreasonable for being upset that they regularly OVERCHARGE you, like you should just accept it. I'll never use Instacart again. A bunch of low life con artists is what I experienced.

I've used Instacart a few times now and today was the worse time ever. First of all it's the shoppers responsibility to pay attention to the customers order including the replacements they have chosen in case any of the items they ordered are out of stock. They aren't suppose to pick replacements themselves it's not for them and they are supposed to communicate with the customer each time an ordered item is out of stock and ask the customer what they want instead of they didn't pick replacements in the beginning before the shopping started. Today I was anticipating an order from Kroger and one from Meijer at different times. I received my order from Kroger this morning just to find out it wasn't even my order it was the wrong order. I was so very upset and mad about it I texted the shopper to let her know that she delivered the wrong order but got no response. If these shoppers are shopping for two different people they really need to pay close attention to the orders. My order from Meijer was correct and communication was better. My order from Kroger was recorded and set up to be delivered today at a different time. Only problem this time is the replacement I received for the granola that I ordered was out of stock but selected a different granola. Instead of paying attention to that part I received a four pack of oatmeal which wasn't at all what I selected as a replacement so now I'm super furious with Instacart mainly because some of the shoppers just don't pay attention and this is why customers get angry. They say the customer is always right well I definitely should be right I'm dealing with some personal stuff at home right now and for reasons I can't do my own shopping. But to have these mistakes happen more often than they should I'm going to get my groceries another way. I'm absolutely disappointed in this service I will never ever recommend Instacart to anyone. I do want to thank all the shoppers who have been paying attention and getting the orders right especially the one I had deliver my Meijer order today she knows what she's doing well done.

Terrible for Shoppers

I've been a Instacart shopper for 8 months and it started off pretty well. I make small mistakes now and then, but I've never stolen an order or try and violate a customers trust in any way.

However, people using Instacart should know that shoppers are getting scammed too. I used to average $25/hr before gas and wear and tear on my truck. I now average closer to $17/hr for the same amount of work and with gas significantly more expensive, which comes out of our pocket.

I've also noticed that customers are starting to fraudulently file false claims against us shoppers to rip off Instacart without realizing this damages our ratings and our ability to have access to orders. This week alone, 2 customers file fraudulent claims that I stole 2 items (which I would never eat anyway as they're disgusting) and left me - 3 and 4 star review. Anything under a 5 star review is a bad review for us shoppers. If we get under 4.7 star rating, we essentially get blacklisted. I was a 5 star shopper for over 375 orders and now my ratings are dropping due to scammers. The same people that change their tips to ZERO after I've spent my time and money to get their orders.

What's also happening is that Instacart has overhired shoppers and now my area is overflowing with drivers from 2-3 towns over as I live in an upper middle class area. As a result, these ghetto trash are destroying our reputation as they steal orders and are just straight trash. I run into many at stores and you can easily tell by their behavior that they don't belong.

Seriously, treat your good shoppers with good tips and a 5 star review.

However, after repeatedly being screwed by Instacart, I think my days as a shopper are numbered, which means one less shopper with integrity to service you.

Shopper abuse

Instacart treats their shoppers like we are nothing. We take pictures via the app if deliveries and receipts to be told "too bad" when a customers claims no delivery was made or an item missing. I've lost $100s of dollars due to their inability to take the proof before them. Food has been taken from my children after a customer fraudulently claims something because Instacart does nothing!

On July 14m instacart OVERCHARGED me $62. They ignored ALL my emails. Finally. Kroger said I would get a total refund in a few days, PLUS a $20 credit immediately. Well, NEITHER happened. I will NEVER buy from Kroger again, after shopping there for 35 + years...

Ordered thru Instacart for my Mom. Started receiving phone calls about the name being wrong. I told them I was ordering groceries to be delivered to my Mom at her address as I had done one time before with no problems. They just couldn't figure it out - - my acct - -her address. Not rocket science. So I'm out $94. And had to drive 45 min to buy mom groceries. Cust service said refund on the way. Well that never happened and it's been 2 weeks and many very long phone calls. I have since hired a local girl to do what they can't for less money and much much better service.

I don't know how Instacart stays in business! We are in a house out of town no - placed an order at 5pm told it would be delivered by 7pm at 7pm got a confirmation that it was delivered! It was not - they lied! And charged my card!
Now I can not get one person that speaks English to help me - now my $200 is tied up for 10 days and we have zero money to replace

I tried them only once! By downloading their app!+ It was A terrible Mistake! I made my order just to see if it's Real! And guess what! Shortly afterwards I got a message from them telling me it was Cancelled! Just like that! For No good reason at all! But some dumb lame excuse like the deliverer Couldn't find my Address! Pathetic! That's so Unprofessional!-So that was it! And I demanded a refund to be put back on my Debit card!- ASAP! So they are Fake! A Fraud! Don't believe Their Ads! It's All Lies! They will never Deliver your orders Fast or the Same Day- Either! In fact they won't deliver it At all! So Never again will I order from them! And I'm glad I uninstalled it too!- for good! All they want is to take your money! But they don't want to deliver it! Beware! Shop elsewhere! I don't recommend this One! Don't download their app! Or shop on their site! Instacart is Garbage!- Goodbye!

I ordered an item which turned out to be not at all as described. The order was promptly delivered but the problems began with attempts to refund the item. The process is difficult and time consuming. After contacting the store and Instacart multiple time, I ended up returning the item at the in store price which is significantly less. I will never recommend or use this site again for two reasons. First, now that I realize the mark up between store prices and the price charged buy Instacart I feel the Instacart price is a rip off. Second, even with a huge amount of time and resources, I found it impossible to return the item through Instacart. Since the item was useless, I was fortunate to at least get the store price.

Every single time I order something from here, there is an issue. But this time takes the cake. My entire order was delivered to someone else. And then when they went to reshop my order, they charged me for things I didn't get and then refunded me the wrong amount of money. I have never seen such incompetence in a company! Someone needs to start a personal shopper business that isn't such a clusterfork of insanity! I really hate this. I only used it because I had covid and could not leave the house.

I am an Instacart shopper, I go out my way to make all my customers happy, even the customers that are nasty to me. I only get work if my ratings are high, low rating means no work or you get leftovers that nobody wants or would take. The app crashes 80% of the time, they fix stuff that don't need fixing and mess things up that was working well. Their rating system is horrible to shoppers, especially the shoppers that works hard, people do not take the time to rate us shoppers, they forget or just don't care to do so, which is extremely bad for shoppers like me. Why the rating system? It does not work! We get punished basically because we don't get rating or good rating. Some like me who gets great reviews should be rewarded for my hard work, but I don't... I have reached out to Instacart but all I get is customer service and not the people in charge. I say do away with the rating system because most people don't go through the hassle to rate anything these days..

Extra charges

I tried to open an account with them, but because I live in a very rural area there was only one store they would deliver from. Also they were claiming the price of all the products were more than the advertised and shelf prices. I texted them about that they claim that is what the store is charging. The store claims that is what Instacart charges to make extra money without charging big delivery fees. So, I cancelled the account. Now a year later I got four charges on my credit card in one day totaling $167.24. I tried to get help on their website but they would not help with out signing in. Of Course, when I tried to sign in it stated my account was locked.

I have been using Instacart since 2019 my advice is to STAY AWAY. They refuse to refund for missing items, expired items, cold/dairy items that arrive warm because shoppers do not use coolers (as promised in the app). We paid for the delivery membership and now they tack on a very high@$13 every order 'service fee' and they mark up the food items significantly! This company is ripping people off, its terrible. No customer service and if you go to the BBB and Consumer Affairs they have an F rating and thousands of complaints. They earned thier rating by ripping all of us off. I cancelled my 'membership' and will never ever order from them again.
