I had this device literally since Saturday, Nov. 28,2020 until Dec. 1,2020! I have called many many times to complain. Haven't driven my car since Saturday when I put the device in. Wanna know why?! Cause my battery is drained! Finally recharged it this morning, only to be stranded at a store. The battery died again. Now I have to get my car towed. Please stay away from this company. I'm a voluntary account. They have discouraged me greatly from doing the right thing. I have already spent over $200 in Uber rides and a battery charger! For the rep. To tell my end bill is $109 and I only had this device less than 72 hours is beyond me!

I'd give Intoxalock zero stars if I could have that option. When I started with this company I had a very nice lady and then went to hell.
Their customer service people are hard to understand.
The device will fail you after blowing all zeros. But somehow when you fail and reblow immediately your BAC is lower or back to zeros.
It has costed me a extra $100.00 THREE times now plus the time and gas to get to the service center.
I was told I could dispute charges, then was told it'll cost $70.00 an hour for the service center to inspect it if faulty, the service center has NEVER done an inspection as there isn't anything to inspect. They just pull the data and it sends to the company.
It's $25.00 to get my data report emailed to me. Thats for each one so ANOTHER $75.00 each time in order to dispute charges.
This company will rob you left & right and they have you right where they want you! $150.00 for early removal, $90.00 to uninstall, and another $90.00 to reinstall new device. I want out of this company! $200.00 in 4 days time is ridiculous but I have to prove it's a faulty device... Hello look at the numbers and time and tell me it's not faulty! Lawyer is working on this as I give up on what to do as I have to go to work but it's costing me more to go to work!

Having worked in the customer service industry as a Sr. Manager for 20+ years and for a very large international brand for the last 10... I can tell you that the culture and customer service at INTOXALOCK is, well,

TOXIC.

I have never experienced such blatantly disrespectful, and condescending service in my 40+ years on this planet. For a service representative to feel so comfortable, and emboldened to treat it's customers with this kind of behavior, it leaves me no doubt that it's coming from the highest levels of its leadership.

I'm not at all the type to complain, ask to speak to manager, and especially write a review... This might actually be my first! After having been a customer with In-TOXIC-lock for 4+ years I feel it is my responsibility, now to share how deeply disappointing my experiences have been. I feel embarrassed it has taken me until now to write and express how I have been treated by this 'company'. After reviewing YELP I can see I am far from alone!

Shame on me for continuing to give in-TOXIC-lock my business, but anyone who has been through the experience of installing equipment and balancing the government requirements, knows that it's not easy to manage, especially the costs. Changing from one company to another would be a tremendous hassle. In my honest estimation, I think that in-TOXIC-lock takes advantage of its customers because they know this. I certainly have felt abused and taken advantage of. Have you? Because most of their customers and mandated by law to have an interlock device, they feel like they get a pass on quality service. They don't! There are many other interlock providers out there that will take far better care of you.

Before I go on and on, which I easily could... ( I haven't even gone into the details of specific experiences yet!) I'll just say this:

Please trust me!

Do not work with with this 'company'!

Save yourself from the inevitable frustrations that working with this 'company' will give you.

Find ANY 'company' other than IN-TOXIC-LOCK!

Spent $2K for a new car battery because of this device. Car was towed two places because no one would work on it with this product. The second service center said they would work on it if I removed the device. They couldn't test the car because the device needed a charge - from the battery that needed to be replaced! Intoxalock told me the only alternative is to remove the device. To do that I needed to pay a huge fee. Had to also tow the car to the the place that put in the device. Once removed, drove the car back to the mechanic (because it was my son's car and he can't drive it without blowing into the device). Battery was installed and car fired right up-there was nothing else wrong with the car. Then drove the car from the mechanic to the other place to have the device reinstalled for another fee. Intoxalock instructed the company who installed and removed the device, they were to send it back to Intoxalock and we had to start all over. Mind you, there were a bunch of Uber rides in there since I can't drive two cars. Other devices have "override" features for car repairs, this company doesn't on purpose to charge you. Another thing you need to know, they farm out all their calls to a call center in another country. If you want to pay huge money and be on the phone with some dope for hours, this is your product.

Horrible device. Extremely expensive. Lockouts cost 80$ even in cold weather device freezes. Do not use intoxilock. I will be changing.

This is a horrible product. I had one installed in my vehicle for over a year before switching to another brand. I won't mention the brand I switched to, because I don't want to sound like a shill. I've had the misfortune of having used different breathalyzers from sheriff's deputies, state troopers, jails, work release, pre-trial services, probation and home detention, and this "brick of spit" is by far the most shoddy, cumbersome and impossible to please POS I've had to deal with. And it killed my battery, which they took no responsibility for. This sentiment was shared by the dozens and dozens of people in my classes, "counseling" sessions and institutions of incarceration that I've dealt with over the last 22 months. I had so many problems with it telling me to "blow harder" and "invalid sample" that I came close to blacking out trying to appease this thing. I was locked out three continuous days while traveling even after another (third or fourth) new unit was installed. After constantly calling them I was finally put through to a "supervisor" after getting no help from "customer service" and explained that the unit was causing me to have near-accidents and posed a liability to my safe driving when he said "When can we schedule to have it removed?" I made an appointment to do so with Intoxalock's authorization at which time the service company that installed, calibrated and removed it told me they were dropping their affiliation with Intoxalock because of too many complaints and problems. One week later I received a letter from the DMV telling me that my driving privileges were suspended and Intoxalock did not have the authority to order its removal prior to the court sentenced period. Did Intoxalock not know this? How could they not? Horrible product. Horrible "customer service" and unethical business practices. I highly recommend you don't waste money, time, driving frustration and danger with this inferior POS. I wish I hadn't.

I have had so many issues with this company and the customer service is horrible. First, I haven't had a drop of alcohol in 7 years nor a license and I got my DUI in 2014! The state required me to have one of these because of the money grab they get. I have had the device glitch several times where it then put me in Lock Out where I was stranded and I had to not only pay $75 several times for this but pay for the towing of my vehicle to get a new device. After telling them several times the device was making odd noises and causing lock outs for improper starts they ignored me and didnt initiate an inspection or replacement ( because guilty until proven innocent) I am now locked out of my truck for 5 days until they can do a mobil re-installation that I have to pay for before they will reimburse me. They will not cover a rental even though it has been their faulty equipment. Another thing, this device requires you to blow every 5 to 45 minutes while driving which is a huge distraction especially when you are in busy traffic. There have already been reports of people passing out because this device requires a lot of air and then these people have driven into oncoming traffic and died. It was responsible for a minor accident in my case. There is no logical reason to have people distracted giving samples while driving... I can undertand when you start and exit the vehicle. It takes pictures of you every time! What is the purpose!? This company has cost me thousands and they are highly unprofessional and their customer service is out of India and they do not even have a way to contact anyone for complaints. Stay away. This company needs to be out of business period.

I am horrified at this DISHONEST company

They are HORRIBLE just AWFUL to deal with

Intoxalock they don't tell you about all the HIDDEN fees ONTOP of leasing the device that you blow into that costs $27.50 EVERY 2 weeks

PLUS ANOTHER FEE FOR ROADSIDE assistance and sleeve lease fee( all ADD ONS) PLUS
And every month ANOTHER $20 to calibrate
And PROCESSING data fee each month another $3.21
They rip you off
Customer service has been APPALLING to say the least
I have to watch my account every day
Because they do AUTO PAYMENTS ONLY
They charge for everything and then if you catch them and ask for refund it takes WEEKS
I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD TO DEAL WITH SHADY people like this

I had my device removed today after 3 months. Despite the installer providing instructions and a manual, trust me you will have issues in the beginning with the operation. You will be stressed out and looking for help. The customer service is terrible for a number of reasons. It generally takes about 20 minutes for someone to answer the phone. On various issues I received either conflicting information or inaccurate information. They refuse to transfer you to a supervisor or the compliance dept. The device itself will drain your battery. I had to replace the battery on a 2020 MDX due to the device which thankfully was under warranty. Starting the car after driving was a continual problem and I got no help fixing the problem. I eventually bought a solar charger that seemed to help. The biggest problem is with removal. NOTE: Based on my experience it is virtually impossible to have the device removed on your court appointed date. Because of that they charge you for an extra month and do not prorate the lease extension. They charge a $70 fee to end your lease? There was also a $112 removal fee from the installer. NO MATTER WHAT COMPANY YOU CHOSE UNDERSTAND THE REMOVAL PROCESS COMPLETELY PRIOR TO YOUR END DATE. I DOUBT ANY COMPANY COULD BE WORSE.

I have called this company several times regarding problems with my account including some false lockouts and roadside assistance that I never used. When driving home from KC after Christmas the device ruined my car to the point it randomly shut off twice. When i called to set up my removal i was informed i would be charged 70.00 and when I asked why and i should not be charged for it, I was cussed out and screamed at. I called on January 3rd to ask for an email that my probation officer could get the documents sent to her on the tests that were taken while the device was on my car. I was told completely different information than I was told when I called December 26th. I was told I called and refused to pay them to have the device removed and cancelled the appointment on December 31st. I never called them that day. I was told on December 26th that the 70.00 charge for the device would not be charged and all I would have to pay was the automotive company to remove it. They had to call the company that is removing it to set the appointment up again on January 3rd. I would highly recommend NEVER using this company if you don't have to. Their customer service representatives are rude, liars and have poor customer service skills and this includes the managers. I had to fight to just get the information I needed to give to my probation office for 20 minutes once the device was removed. They will refuse to give you the court required information you need to get from them when you are eligible to have it removed.

I was very unsure of the process of interlock. I received a looked like pretty legit PA licensed paper with numbers on how to regain license. Clayton answered looked at my case said great you can go get it installed. Sent all forms into penndot that Clayton said I needed to send in. He failed to mention or ask me if a restoration letter was sent to me from penndot giving me eligibility, so I assumed I was eligible! Got it installed and penndot just sent a letter I can't get limited license for 5 months! I asked him what is the FIRST step? And he claims I was eligible but obviously not! This thing is puting me through hell more than the dui itself. The thing also drained my battery so I got locked out this is such BS! I have since been trying to get a hold of someone and NO ONE ANSWERS OR TRANSFERS CORRECTLY! I HATE THIS COMPANY! Trust me do not use this company. I have spent a $#*! ton getting damn thing installed just have it taken out TAKING MY MONEY worst experience I've had with ANY company! They do not follow up they take your money then you Never hear from them again. Anyone know a number I could call to speak to a higher up? Please!

HORRRRRRRRIBLE company. I called to set up intoxalock on my car that my 21 year old is driving. We were concerned about safety but our action was not due to legal problems. I called and ordered the service, I provided a credit card and all of my personal information and I set up the service to install the device over the phone. I was told I would receive an e-mail with instructions and a rebate. NOTHING arrived-then when I called to get information-I was told "you are not authorized on the account" so my car, I am paying for it and I am not authorized to get information because when my daughter went to set up the account (the person with the disease of alcoholism went for the install-she ended up on the account-not her car-not her credit card? And she did not set up the account-so AFTER 6 Hours-and many written attempts-I still have no resolution-my daughter is still primary on the account--worst customer service I have received in many years-my daughter will cooperate in any way but good luck if you want to get this company to provided you an intelligent being on the phone to resolve a problem.

THIS COMPANY WILL DRAIN YOU OF EVERY PENNY THEY CAN! The Costumer Service Department will have you on hold for 20-30 minutes and then say they can't help you but charge you $75 to reset the device.

I just got a letter from the registry saying that I missed five roll in Rita's on the same day and two from back in March each time I reported maintenance on the app and when I spoke to them on the phone about it, they said there was no problem because I reported it now I'm being threatened they going to take my license away indefinitely And I didn't do anything wrong. I have less than six months to go and I was gonna get this taken out and I would've been done and over with now. I don't think it's going to go that way. I reported every maintenance I have done to my truck each time Intoxalot guaranteed me that there would be no problem, as long as I reported it, the mechanic can work on my car freely but I guess that's not the issue I have had my device replaced twice to the malfunctions when I first got it put in now they're accusing me of not doing the rolling retest what should I do every time, but I thought the mechanics could work on my car freely as long as I reported maintenance on the app which I did why would they give me test for if my car is being worked on in the garage and it's on the lift

Well intoxalock has cost me. A lot of cash out of my pocketquestion additional couple hundred in fees that they said they would pay. With a PO number to comp out the $30 recalibration. I had to first get it calibrated within 2 weeks after having it not 2 months. Said I missed a ball. Which I did not. Took me an hour to get ahold of somebody. Then drive quarter mile down the road. And then stop to go to the gift cigarettes at a store. Here in Sonora California. They keep saying that the comp it out and then they get there and they say they don't do that when they have done it they keep choosing from one straw to the next first I going to do it and they're not they don't do it and sometimes they do if they cannot make up their mind what the freaking with straw in their head they want to pick they can't keep their story straight the customer service people are the worst ever they totally suck don't ever do this company they will piss you off go to a different company and Mabel cost you money and time take care. I have had TWELVE "Violation 11 unauthorized start" lockouts in ten months. Twelve! It's a scam. I'm doing nothing wrong to cause the lockout and they agree. They will not refund your actual money, only "credit your Intoxalock account" forcing you to stay on with them if you wish to recoup your money they STOLE in fraudulent lockout and reset fees. They threw a $350+ credit on my account only a few months ago after numerous "inspections" at my service center (which they do not allow you to record or view any records of... only tell you it "looks fine") AND entirely replacing the whole ignition interlock system. The same manufactured lockouts continue and they blew through that credit and now continue to steal money directly from my bank account and then offer to "credit back to my Intoxalock account" once again. This is the ultimate scam. They KNOW customers do not have 4-8 hours per month to try to track down an actual human being on their customer service phone line, so customers end up signing into the mobile app to reset the lockout at $80/pop (as is the automated recording they play on repeat for the entirety of the 30-45 min average wait times to actually speak to someone on the phone). I'm currently in the process of working with my state to have Intoxalock removed from the list of certified vendors. They won't listen or change until you directly impact their profits. Additionally I'm filing against them with the attorneys general office in my state. I have 10+ months of video documentation proving these are fraudulent lockouts and allllllll the abhorrent fees I've paid because of them. I imagine it will end up being a class action suit and my ultimate goal is to shut them down on a national level.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE ARE IN BUSINESS! THEIR LIARS AND THIEVES! AFTER YOU SIGN UP, YOUR NUMBER IS PUT IN THEIR SYSTEM AND YOU CANNOT REACH THEM ANYMORE! YOU'LL HAVE TO USE ANOTHER PHONE TO CALL, THEN ALL EXCUSES, CHARGE YOU FOR A BUNCH OF BULL$#*! YOU DIDN'T AGREE ON! THEY WILL LAUGH AT YOU AND SAY, NOTHING CAN BE DONE. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE ANCIENT HANDHELD WOULD NOT ACCEPT ME BLOWING AND THE HORN STARTED GOING NONE STOP, I HAD PEOPLE MAD AND TRYING TO CUT ME OFF THE ROAD, THINKING I'M HONKING AT THEM. VERY DANGEROUS! THEN I HAD TO PULL OVER TURN IT OFF, I RESTARTED AND MADE IT HOME. NEXT MORNING THEY SEND AN EMAIL SAID I HAVE A LOCKOUT AND CHARGED ME $80.00 ON TOP OF EITHER $57.00 OR 55.00 JUST WHATEVER THEY FEEL LIKE CHARGING! HAVE TO WAIT TILL MY HUSBAND COMES HOME TO USE HIS PHONE TO CALL THE BASTARDS AND THEY TELL ME IT WASN'T EVEN THE DAY STATED. LAUGHED AND HUNGUP. I'VE CALLED MY LAWYER AND GETTING READY TO PLASTER THEM ON THE NEWS. PLEASE DTAY AWAY FROM THESE HORRIBLE CROOKS AND LIARS, THEY DON'T DESERVE ANY TYPE OF STAR

As of today I was finally able to remove this horrible company's device from my car. Because of them I have been through 7 batteries and over 15 lock outs. They have cost me easily 5thousand dollars more in fees from lock outs and batteries then I was already paying. Everytime this happens your license gets suspended so also have fun on paying for that as well. Last time it killed my battery I could not afford the 290 dollar new battery again so while it was off they t i d to charge my account over 3300 dollars and considered their device stolen. And yes when I say killed my battery I mean O'Reilly's and myself couldn't get it to hold a charge again. This would kill my battery in less than 8 hours of not driving and I would have to constantly jump my vehicle in the mornings. I had 3 different mechanics tell me it was their device and not an electrical issue. Also Everytime you report vehicle maintenance it doesn't matter. They will still lock you out every time you take it to a shop and they have to unhook your battery. On top of all of this they use a call center from India with not a single effer that speaks English and they have no idea what they are doing or how to help you in anyway. They also never log your calls or info and they will transfer you more then 5 or 6 times over the course of hours to get you to give up. I finally pulled the device out of my vehicle after they wanted another 600 dollars after charging me thousands and let my bank know. The bank reported it as fraud and I was able to get my money back after talking to the judge at my court, reporting them to Washington State patrol, as well as the DOL, and my attorney. I have contacted the wa state attorney general as well as a lawyer from Chicago that already had a lawsuit with them and I will stop at NOTHING to get those company shut down after receiving a huge settlement from an injury. It is my only mission in life now. If I can get the call center shut down that would be a huge plus as well. But I want actual criminal prosecution. These owners all deserve jail time.
