I had this device literally since Saturday, Nov. 28,2020 until Dec. 1,2020! I have called many many times to complain. Haven't driven my car since Saturday when I put the device in. Wanna know why?! Cause my battery is drained! Finally recharged it this morning, only to be stranded at a store. The battery died again. Now I have to get my car towed. Please stay away from this company. I'm a voluntary account. They have discouraged me greatly from doing the right thing. I have already spent over $200 in Uber rides and a battery charger! For the rep. To tell my end bill is $109 and I only had this device less than 72 hours is beyond me!
I could write a book with all the issue I've had with this company. No idea if the others are better, but no way they can ne worse. Not broke anymore talking to a lawyer tomorrow about the BS violations

Terrible service all around, from the device to the company. Intoxalock will frequently send reminders to "unplug your device and bring it inside during cold evenings" to avoid damaging the device. However if you do unplug it, the sticker on the back or an observing employee will remind you that unplugging the device is considered "tampering," which is a felony. If you don't want a felony, or if you don't consider a 70 degree evening cold, the device will run your battery to the point that it only takes a few hours to fry a brand new battery beyond repair. In order to avoid the $80 lockout fee that comes with jumping the car/replacing the battery, they require you to call before and after maintenance. If you do exactly that, they'll charge the extra $80 anyways and say "well we don't have a record of you ever calling" when you call back a 3rd time to question the bill. Customer service can't drop the lockout charge so they'll submit a request to their higher up who's supposed to get back to you in the next 72 hours. 96 hours later you still won't have a call back and, shockingly, customer service has no record of you ever calling.
People aside, the device is ridiculous. SmartStart and several other devices will allow you to drive your car with nothing more than a warning if you blow 0.06 or below. Intoxalock fails you if you blow 0.01. I failed due to a closed container of Lysol wipes on the passenger side backseat. I failed because my passenger very briefly opened a travel size hand sanitizer. So forget shopping for any cleaning supplies. Even if you blow 0.0
Several times, then blow a 0.12 while driving because of a perfume bottle in your purse, then pass with 0.0 all within 5 minutes, you're still definitely getting the $80 lockout fee and a strike against your compliance.
Even the app is useless. Half the time I went to pay my bill I would click on the line to type in my credit card and the app would crash, or it wouldn't pull up s keyboard to let me type the numbers in.
Intoxalock takes the cake for being the only company that absolutely guarantees something will get messed up or you will get screwed over every time you interact.

Have had Intoxalock almost a year, had NUMEROUS problems with the unit and their customer service is HORRIBLE. When I first contacted them to inquire about pricing and installation I was told the installation would be free and the service would run around $90 per month. Scheduled installation at Car Toys in Hurst, lost a days work waiting for unit to be installed then when I pick my truck up I'm hit with a bill for $165 plus another $130 for shipping. Had to have my truck for work so I coughed up the money then after several phone calls and bad customer reviews they finally refunded my money. Today I try to start my truck and the unit keeps displaying "Waiting for RB to reset" then does a 5 minute countdown, then repeats the process again. Supposed to work today and am out over $1100 for not being able to make it to job. Called Intoxalock for tech support and they say the unit needs to be replaced, that I have to have my truck towed AT MY EXPENSE to Car Toys to have the unit replaced. Car Toys has units in stock "for new customers" but Intoxalock won't allow them to assign them to an existing customer that is has a faulty unit and is unable to go to work because of their faulty unit. They tell me I have to wait at least another two days for them to ship a new unit out and schedule replacement. Bottom line is I'm going to be out at least three days work along with tow charges because of their faulty equipment and their horrible customer service. They have equipment on hand for new customers foolish enough to sign on with them, but they won't allow it to be used to make things right with existing customers
Until this evening I had been without my truck for a day and a half. Initially I was comforted by a customer service rep Nate. Then he did what everyone there has done. Told me he'd call me back in 20-25 minutes and did now. I frantically tried calling him back as I sat in the service center parking lot. I had replaced the battery in my truck by myself the night before because there service center had the truck for 6 hours and did nothing. After speaking with them at 9 am when they opened I was told they would "try to get to it today." At 2.13pm i called the service center to check on the status and was told "they'd call me back in 30 mins and the vehicle was in the garage being finished up." The problem was that I was sitting in the parking lot looking at my truck when they said this to me. The truck had not moved. I also had left the keys in the cab of the truck the night before. I walked in to the service center and asked how it was going? They said the truck is fine and the engine cranks right up but they couldn't start it because the spare key I had hidden in a magnet box outside the truck for them to access the cab doesn't have a chip. I replied, " that's correct, and I told you where the chipped key was at 9am." I went out to the truck and the let's we're exactly where I left them. I almost drive off. They did not perform the diagnostic they told me they did, they did not pull the truck in the garage like they said they did, they did not communicate with me the way they said they would. I paid $106 and lost almost 2 days of work for them to tell me there was nothing wrong and the new battery I put in solved the problem. I've contacted my bank and reported fraud after paying because I didn't want it to end in a fistfight. Intoxalock has been unreachable during this whole ordeal and could care less that their service centers operate this way. Do yourselves a favor and go literally ANYWHERE else.
HORRIBLE CUST SERVICE! Very condescending towards their customers. I have never had to deal with a company that deals with their customers so poorly.
