The company has garnered a predominantly negative reputation, with customers frequently citing severe issues with customer service, including long hold times, unresponsive support, and rude representatives. Many reviews highlight repeated device failures leading to additional costs and significant inconvenience, such as vehicle lockouts and battery drain. While a few customers noted initial friendliness during the setup process, this sentiment quickly dissipated post-installation, with complaints about hidden fees and lack of resolution for ongoing problems. Overall, the feedback indicates a pressing need for improvements in customer support and device reliability to enhance customer satisfaction.

Horrible customer service i always get told something different when call and unfortunately I find myself calling once a month. I ve had to pay 2 times for a lockout in the month because according to them I didn't blow when I supposed to when I told them it doesn't always accept it when I do it she said talk to car toys about it. Which they weren't much help either! Not to mention when I first signed up I was told something tatol different when I saw my bill and called to ask about i got a rude lady.
Drains your car battery and then they want to charge you $75 plus the extra you pay caliberate it. Has happened to my son 3 times in two weeks and the customer service is horrible. Days off of work to straighten out the lock outs. A nightmare and still not sure what to do now.
The customer service well there isn't one. I've sent out 6 emails. Over the winter I had to buy a battery and then a jump box because it kept killing my battery. I tried calling and asking what I should do and no one emailed me back and when you try to call it's impossible to talk to anyone. I still haven't gotten a email back. If you wanna talk to someone call from a different number it works everytime.
I live in Washington State for the most part intoxalock is awesome, except when you get a lock out that you have no control over, one of those reasons is a failed breath temperature, it costs 75$ when this happens, and I called to ask how I could avoid this the first time it happened and they had no answers and eventually hung up on me. Then this happened again I called again and still no answers, I asked to speak with a manager to dispute the charges and ask for further help on stopping this, they put me on hold for over a hour untill I just couldn't hold any longer, I love the device, easy to use, but when it comes to customer service, I dread ever having any issues.
Intoxalock does not help the dealership or us. Dealership calls and spends much time trying to resolve lock out as they do with other companies with like devises... no luck. I as the customer contact company and after lengthy discussion with agent reading state statutes to me can charge me $40 for a two hour window to take truck to be calibrated and then maybe we can get repairs done. I was reminded that repairs are required to be scheduled well in advance and by the way I need to sign a new contract which has to be mailed back before any work can begin. So I guess a month from now with all their fees and paperwork completed I might get my vehicle out of the shop(they may charge me rent). Seriously does anyone believe that is in any way fair or anyway to run a company. ( the rating should be minus 2 stars)
This is by far the most terrible customer service i have ever experienced. They require you to service the devices every 30 days or so but all the service centers in my area have been closed for the past 5 days due to inclement weather. I called yesterday and was on the line for over and hour and the rep told me they had extended my service due date. I went out to the car later that day and saw that it had not been extended. I called again, was on the phone for well over an hour again and was told be a supervisor that it would be extended. I woke up this morning and went out to the car and it was still not extended. I have now been on the phone with customer service for over an hour. They are telling me that my only option is to have the vehicle towed to a service center because they are unable to connect with the device. Well... i cant have it towed to a service center because they are not open and will not be open anytime soon due to the weather. So i am now without a vehicle. The customer rep that i spoke with said that it was "my decision" to wait until the last minute and miss the due date, but i the service centers have been closed for 5 days so not sure how that is my problem. I would NEVER recommend using this company. It has been an absolute NIGHTMARE.
I was very unsure of the process of interlock. I received a looked like pretty legit PA licensed paper with numbers on how to regain license. Clayton answered looked at my case said great you can go get it installed. Sent all forms into penndot that Clayton said I needed to send in. He failed to mention or ask me if a restoration letter was sent to me from penndot giving me eligibility, so I assumed I was eligible! Got it installed and penndot just sent a letter I can't get limited license for 5 months! I asked him what is the FIRST step? And he claims I was eligible but obviously not! This thing is puting me through hell more than the dui itself. The thing also drained my battery so I got locked out this is such BS! I have since been trying to get a hold of someone and NO ONE ANSWERS OR TRANSFERS CORRECTLY! I HATE THIS COMPANY! Trust me do not use this company. I have spent a $#*! ton getting damn thing installed just have it taken out TAKING MY MONEY worst experience I've had with ANY company! They do not follow up they take your money then you Never hear from them again. Anyone know a number I could call to speak to a higher up? Please!
Drains battery, had to get a new one
Not properly installed
98% of customer service sucks/rude
Be ready to wait 30min plus to get through to a live person
Faulty device
Wish I read the reviews before I picked this company
Company will send out information on usage of device. It will then result in you having a problem which they will charge $80 to fix. No customer service they don't even answer phone. When they do you will be transferred to another department which never picks up phone. This company should not be allowed to stay in business. If you go with them they will keep charging you until there is nothing left.
This company should be put out of business, once you are paid and a customer, they don't return your email, try to call from phone number thats on file and goes directly to recording and can never reach anyone. Its been a week since I had it installed and have been trying to reach anyone, by email, chat on site that only says someone will contact me shortly., but been over a week and numerous emails... with no response at all.
Go with a different company, my mistake is I didn't look at reviews before using this company.
I was stranded multiple times with a small child. I had to replace faulty device 3 times. They scheduled removal on a Sunday instead of Monday. The agents are rude and have no idea what they are doing. The hold times are around 30 to over an hour. A total nightmare.
Intoxalock machine in my car malfunctioned on it's own and locked out and intoxalock made me pay $80 for their machine malfunctioning on it's own. That's some bs
This company is nothing more than an extortion racket. They know you don't have a choice and they hit you with all kinds of fees. When the device does what you're already paying them for it to do (not let you start the car if you are over a certain BAC), then they charge you $75 to reset the device. Again, for doing what it's supposed to do. They refuse to refund these fees even when it is their mistake, like the device getting a false failed rolling re-test IMMEDIATELY followed by a passing test? $75 lockout reset fee. The mistake of the vendor (like failing to hook the intoxalock back up correctly after service?) $75 lockout reset fee. Do not use this company unless you want to be charged way more than you expect. Fortunately, this is the only time I've ever needed a service like this and I get the device taken out tomorrow. This company is a complete scam. Use some other company if you need an interlock device. They can't possibly be worse than Intoxalock.
I was told Intoxalock's service would cost $74.99 per month and would be billed twice a month – on the first and third Friday of each month – at $37.49 each payment. What they did not mention is there is a monthly data processing fee and they mislead me with the initial statement of twice per month. The fact is it is not 24 payments (twice a month for 12 months), but instead 26 payments (every other week for a year). So both the monthly amount quoted and the number of payments was misrepresented.
I was told that I will be paying the interlocks installation for $125 and $45.27 biweekly. So far in one month I paid $168. I have been trying to get in touch with them but nobody will answer guys do not go with this company... because it's a big scam it's not right what they're doing to people... there are other companies much cheaper. Like Drager free installation and $80 a month... but if each one of us agree. We can put a lawsuit against them... I spoke to a lawyer and he told me its possible. Just reply because The more people we are better chances for a law suit. I want to make sure that there is enough people to go forward with a lawsuit...
25° weather this morning I went turn the car on came back inside to put the jackets on the kids so they can jump in in a warm car and the device was beeping crazy saying that the vice locked volume three this is my first incident ever I had to pay $20 to get it calibrated then they make you agree to pay $75 plus taxes for the device being locked I have this advice for several months never had any issues until now there's a crisis going on there's no money coming in due to covid-19 I barely work and the hours that I make I have to save up to pay the rent the car insurance the interlock device on top of that now $75 they waive some of the fee instead of waving the whole fee due to that I never gave any negative results! This is crazy how they treat us
Device drained my battery to the point that the device wouldn't even let me blow into.
FYI, I drive a manual car and could easily push start it. But not with this stupid thing.
Every call I've tried to make the people have no idea what they are talking about. They're all $10/hr call center employees that are not even familiar with the device, or automobiles as a whole.
I wish I would have read the reviews, steer clear of this company at all costs.
I have had the Intoxalock for 4.5 months and it killed my battery about 2 weeks ago. Be prepared to buy another battery because it totally sucked the life out of mine and I regularly used the "powersave" mode. It also takes 2-3 minutes to "warm" up in the Winter. I recommend using another IID as this one is horrible.
I got charged a lock out fee twice and I was not in the inside the car! I turn off the car and went around the car grab my lunch bag and gear out side of the car went inside my job clocked in at 10:58pm and Intoxalock said I missed two retest after 11:01pm. I had to pay an extra $79 cause I missed a retest. Customer service was no help all the man wanted to know if I was with what credit card was going to pay. Unbelievable! How is this even legal?
Got this device put on my vehicle in November and having it removed today. They told me that I needed a paper from MVD to have it removed and when I called DMV they did not have record of me even having the device on my car, so $400 for nothing. Drains my battery daily, throws false positives, and random retests every time I stop at a stop sign or traffic light. Customer service is horrific unless you're paying them. Explained situation to MVD and they are working with me to find a legitimate company that will work with me, not against me. Intoxalock is by far the WORST scam I have ever been involved with!
Answer: Legit company but they have shady business practices. Very dishonest
Answer: Sale man was very pushy and I was very panicked about loosing my license. He kept calling me after I told him I would give him a call back. No one in this company wants to help you, avoid them.
Answer: As far and I am concerned any of the other 4 State approved interlock companies would have been a step up.
Answer: No. They suck. They're parasites. They're not even very good at that. They're really more battery police than making sure people don't drive drunk. They also forgot that the people with their device are the paying customers. If you are bad to those that pay your bills, they're going to stop paying you.
Answer: Must get a court release once you have the new one in place
