I had this device literally since Saturday, Nov. 28,2020 until Dec. 1,2020! I have called many many times to complain. Haven't driven my car since Saturday when I put the device in. Wanna know why?! Cause my battery is drained! Finally recharged it this morning, only to be stranded at a store. The battery died again. Now I have to get my car towed. Please stay away from this company. I'm a voluntary account. They have discouraged me greatly from doing the right thing. I have already spent over $200 in Uber rides and a battery charger! For the rep. To tell my end bill is $109 and I only had this device less than 72 hours is beyond me!
I could write a book with all the issue I've had with this company. No idea if the others are better, but no way they can ne worse. Not broke anymore talking to a lawyer tomorrow about the BS violations
My dad voluntarily went on to the toxilock. He became very ill and was on palletive care and was not able to speak or drive I tried to get them out to remove so that I could move his vehicle for ambulance when needed they would not because they needed to speak to him which he could not I get it even though frustrating. Now my dad has passed we sent death certificate but can not schedule a appointment due to they need paperwork from SOS this was voluntarily done no need for paperwork but they should know this. I also have tried their chat to find out how to return equipment so we do not have to pay the 1500. 00 they are seeking but once chat is initiated I get a response of hold on then after 15 min I get I am sorry no agents are available. We are trying to do the right thing here and very little assistance during this difficult time for us... shame on you!
This co. Is a total and absolute scam! It keeps draining my car battery which they charge me every time it goes in to lock out even though it is THEIR fault! They are scammers Kimberly is a moron and the co. Should be terminated by the BBB screw you intoxalock you owe me now 2 $140 batteries for my truck!

This company is playing with my life right now as I write. I've had this device over 3 months ago, over what the court ordered. I gave them all the paperwork they wanted from the NJMVC and they said they never received it all the time.
They keep charging me $53 every biweekly.
I'll be losing my job at the end of this month because of this company.
My landlord already kicked me out because of my DUI.
There is nothing else to do but to leave this world.
I don't know what to do.
I tried hospice, but you need to be terminally ill.
When I die, let it be known that this company and the state of NJ are the one's who helped.
I'm done

Intoxalock device
When I first got my device installed, I was told that installation would be $150, and that I would be given a credit of $50, making the total $100. When I arrived at the place that installed it, they told me $200.00, and the person that I spoke to on the phone had no authorization to credit me anything. Now that it's time for me to remove it, I keep getting different answers of who I need to speak to to get it removed. In the mean time, I still need to make my payments if I want to keep driving my car. Crooks!
This company is all about taking your money. My device was faulty, kept giving a failed reading and they never offered to pay back the money I had to pay to get it out of lock-out. All they do is charge, charge, charge, fees, fees, fees. This company needs to go out of business.
Don't believe a damn thing they tell you. The final day of my 6 mo term they claimed I had failed a test after not having 1 fail for the hole 6 mo and they tell me it was a moving violation fail when my vehicle wasn't even running and after sending me an email 4 days prior stating I was free to get it removed but waiting for dol to receive data and sign certificate. My vehicle wasn't running at all at the time of the. 041 fail. I'm fact it hadn't all day and violation was at 938 pm. Isn't the point of having this to test ur sobriety before driving. Now they claiming I need it for another 5 months. Crooks. And with covid season going on of course they love being able to hang up on you and hide behind a phone.
Horrible, Horrible and more Horrible. Calling them and waiting 30 - 45 minutes for someone to answer your call is Unacceptable. Live Chat is worse. They work from home (I say no more) and tonight I waited 37 minutes for a CSR to start our chat. No one did and I excited the session.
Would not recommend. Intoxalock is a misleading company. On multiple occasions, I called to have help with my vehicle's device and was given varying information about resetting my vehicle and the included fees. I had to have my car towed 3 times because of this device draining my vehicle. During this COVID-19 pandemic a nationwide, multi-million dollar company continued with the fees showing no remorse for a loyal customer. Terrible.
Their app said to unplug on cold nights and bring the device inside. It was -20, so I did. The next morning I had a lockout in 3 days. Called customer service they said they would take off the 75 lockout charge after. Ther are notes on your account, spoke with a mangaer. So, I paid. Then called back. No notes, was told to call back in 24 hrs... not to mention the 75 I paid the service center when I was told a recalibration would be $20...
Don't use this company!
All my issues are that their $#*!ty equipment drains batteries like a vampire. Never blew a violation. My battery died. I put in the service notification, replaced my battery. No violation, but these people still reported me as a violation because my battery died. State decided to cancel my license... because their equipment killed my battery. Contacted Intoxalock " customer service ". They agreed I had no violation. They would take care of it next business day. No response back 3 days later. Called a Judy today. She read me an email from the dmv. I asked for a copy of that email. Old Judy told by her higher ups not to forward that important information to me. Just for fun, when I asked why they hadn't contacted me with new information, it was because they figured I'd cal them back
Not only is this device a major distraction and driving hazard going off all the time while driving, this morning my car won't start even after passing due to a recall. This has caused me to be late for work due to the Intoxalock customer service rep saying there was nothing she could do for me until my service center opened. My license is active as of today, I had previously tried calling to get this device uninstalled and was told to call back once my license was active. For how expensive this device is I shouldn't have to deal with recall messages and being told the device would need to be replaced in my car. This is supposed to be a device to get people back on the right foot not set them back. I'll make sure to continue to share my story to anyone that asks my opinion of this. Super upsetting!
Choose a different company than intoxalock. They entered the wrong vehicle info causing problems with the vehicle and then had to pay another $100 for their mistake. Now, they say I owe them for other devices and keep trying to charge me for past due account. You CANNOT get any customer service for help. So when they refuse to answer emails and texts and put you on hold for hours until you hang up, they charge you more. Reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. #uck you intoxalock. I hope you get sued and shut down. I cannot believe the lack of customer service and the scandalous way you charge for nothing. You won't get any money from me. Eat a bag of ducks.
Had Intoxalock device installed and within a months time my battery was drained and would not start my car. I replaced my battery, but the problem persists. Called Intoxalock customer service number, which is an overseas call center where they read off of a script and are not helpful at all. I took my car to the garage where it was installed to have the problem investigated. They did find a small current draw but could offer no solutions to fix my problem. I've resorted to buying an emergency jump start kit and the kindness on neighbors to jump start my battery on a daily basis because of this interlock device. Why won't Intoxalock put forth the effort to investigate why this problem keep reoccurring! Bad customer service! Beware when choosing an interlock company
Do not use this business if you need an interlock system in your car, EVER. It's impossible to reach anyone who can actually help you. I've gotten at least FIFTEEN lock outs in 9 months because the device randomly loses connection to gps. All of my lock outs were not my fault and I've had to get it serviced time and time again. It's a hassle and expensive. I requested a new device three times and they won't send it, they say they are going to but don't. I also got into a car accident (someone rear ended me) and I can't get my car fixed until it's out because they won't work with me. They're a bunch of low life people trying to scam you for money. They don't actually care about you or your car or your time or anything of the sort. DO NOT USE INTOXALOCK
Company is will set appointment and take your $27.50 and then never deliver the part to the mechanic. Then the have the audacity to charge for a no show. Customer service is horribly rude, especially Kayla, and will make you jump through hoops for a refund. They literally have no care that they don't keep appointment times for their customers.

They never arrived
3 months after having the device removed from my vehicle, the the company still charges me monthly for their roadside service. Instead of just canceling it when the device is removed, they they make you send an email separately to have this canceled. This is ridiculous. I did not have to send an email to sign up, I should not have to send an email to unsubscribe from a service I never needed in the first place.

What a horrible greedy company nickeling and diming every step of the way. I was given a lockout when no where near my car, and one recently because I used mouthwash before using device and charged 80 dollars both times. There's a camera installed in my vehicle but they certainly won't use it to your advantage. This company could care less about you and will charge you unreasonable fees for every little thing. Awful company, DO NOT use their services or you'll regret it. Go with any other company. I can't wait to have this god awful money sucking device removed from my car. Go $#*! yourselves intoxilock.
I had their device installed for over a year, but that time didn't count because they assured me I had permission to remove the device when that was not true. I thought I had completed all that was required of me only to find out years later that my license had been suspended due to their incompetence. I will now have to start the process over again to reinstate my license. They simply do not care that their representatives lied to me repeatedly. Once I was eventually able to talk to someone in their escalation department I was told that they don't even communicate with my state MVD and it is my fault for believing the lower-level representatives when they told me they do.
My time was up a month ago and they still haven't set up a date for removal. First they said that I needed paperwork from DMV to schedule the removal. I went to DMV and they said they don't issue removal paperwork even though my term had been successfully. Called CS again and they said don't worry about the ppw, the temp drivers license with the Interlock stamp on it should have a removal date. I looked at the license and confirmed what I already knew and it does not have a removal date. So Customer Service came up with their third shot into the dark. I needed a new license. But you cannot walk into DMV in NJ and get a new license anymore. You have to order a duplicate online which takes a minimum of 20 days to get to you in the mail. So I paid Leroy down the straight a six pack of bud and he had the device out in 10 minutes. Enough is enough.
Yes I got a dui. Complexity my fault. 40 years of safe driving and just didnt have enough to eat one night. But this thing is beyond dangerous. It goes off non stop, the tube to blow into falls of constantly. Your left scambing in traffic and reaching for the device in dicey situations. There has to be a safer option. I mean put a camera in the car. Something to keep people from drinking while they I drive. That is the only reason I can assume it goes off every 10 minutes.
I got the service for a month, got it removed. Lady I spoke to for way to long (and multiple calls) set it up. Everything was good but my auto payments kept getting charged for the roadside assistance. So I called multiple times to get it stopped, (on their website, if you put in a payment you can't remove it, wtf?!) so I told them I will go to my bank and have it stopped for fraud and refunded. Had it stopped & refunded, now I'm getting letters in the mail saying I was arrested and need their service again, getting calls saying I'll go to collections when my balance is $0. So they charged me $30-40 for each roadside assistance they charged me and labeled it as "chargeback fee". This company, service is a scam, fraud and should be and will be sued. DO NOT USE THEM.
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT USE THEM. They will not help, it will take multiple times. And they got butt hurt because I blocked my cc that they were falsely charging me. I think they’re running out of business and it’s resulting in scam behaviors.
Customer service is bad changed service from smart start bad idea, not spose to have gps, they installed it any way takes me 15 mins to start my truck in the mornings ive had it 3 weeks ive had to pull over to the side of the road till i finally got it to retest, never signed a lease now they want to charge me 250$ for early removal, go smart start nvr had a prob in 3 yrs
I have to have this device on my car for 5 years. After the first year of use and thousands of dollars charged to our families bank accounts, the car Is not starting anymore. I pass the test on the device, I have a button starter so I push the brake petal down and push the button to start the car and it will not ever start. If you don't use it for around 2 hours it might start again. I have had to have my car towed 3 times and have been stuck in my car for hours in random areas where I go and it doesn't start. They did the entire intoxalock wiring in the car eventually and it worked for about 2 weeks without problem then now it doesn't work again so I'm just not going to use my car and then I have no transportation all because of this device. I don't know what to do because I can't even afford a used car to buy and drive without the device and risk getting in further trouble with the law.
After 6 months of blowing in the device every 15 min. I can say it is very driver distracting. How I made it 6 months without an accident, only God knows. Then you not only have to blow in, but you have to inhale your own carbon monoxide waste, and all the bacterial waste. I contracted bacterial pnuemonia, and feel it was from the intoxalock device. You dont have time to brush your teeth between blow/inhale, and mouthwash causes it to fail. I am presently trying to find others who have gotten sick to join in a class action suit. Not quite over the sickness, but hoping this helps others to beware.
I was told Intoxalock's service would cost $74.99 per month and would be billed twice a month – on the first and third Friday of each month – at $37.49 each payment. What they did not mention is there is a monthly data processing fee and they mislead me with the initial statement of twice per month. The fact is it is not 24 payments (twice a month for 12 months), but instead 26 payments (every other week for a year). So both the monthly amount quoted and the number of payments was misrepresented.
