Successfully created a new account a few months ago. A few weeks ago I attempted to log in to site and none of my credentials worked soooo I had to start all over again which took forEVER. I have no suggestions except to pack your patience and leave lots of time since this is now being required by IRS

So why when you owe the IRS they're quick to come for ya but when you try and call in for questions no one answer you're on hold for long periods of time until the phone disconnect, or even after waiting you still get transferred to the wrong department and that's another long wait or the recording says due to high volume... Chile please y'all suck on customer service period. I've been trying to get through since 8:30 this morning still can't get through 05/02/24 but y'all quick to penalized well answer your phone's PLEASE!
My daughter did our taxes this year like always, after h&R block took our money the IRS rejected it. Saying there was a possible identity theft red flag or something. We had to send in documents. Which at this point we've done multiple times. Always telling us that they get back with us in 2 to 3 days, but it's always 2 to 3 weeks. We have sent documents numerous times supposedly all we need is a video chat. Which has proved to be difficult if not impossible. My original rating somehow got deleted and I had to start over, so I'm not thrilled and I'm sure I'm leaving things out. I could not be any more disappointed with how difficult a process this has been to prove that he is who he says he is. A video chat would take 2 to 5 minutes. And this has been weeks of stress. I have frequently spoke to people for hours at a time who direct me to someone else. All to no avail. This has been a trying year anyway with me fighting cancer and almost losing my life. This money is badly needed. H&R block said they could help for 3 to $400 when we have gave them I think $79 online already. I'm beginning to think there's no resolution to this and no help to be found
They force us to pay taxes but sit on the phone for hours trying to get help? Get better customer service. Signed up for a call back after being transferred again & again & they call back then leave me on hold for 40 minutes over over hour of waiting. Awful talking to robots getting hung up on for not having enough people to 'answer my call.'
For the first time I was audited for my taxes in which I already paid my fair share of taxes. They sent me a large bill and said that If I don't pay it in full now, that I will be responsible for more interest to be owed on it.
The tax representative with the IRS said that I could pay it now and dispute it immediately after payment to get my money reimburse back to me.
As a trusting American, I paid the proposed bill and sent in a dispute request 4 times over the last 6 months. They never responded now that they have my money.

My story is like everyone else, disregarded, waited 3 hours after being transferred to be hung up on. I get it we're all pretty much screwed. They set an a pile of money that people need and don't care one bit. But they've made a huge mistake it has not hit my account yet. I've called and let them know their mistake and was pretty much blown off. I'm supposed to Receive 5000-ish. This is what they have. First they had $45,630 the next week they added 10,000 more. Get your crap together and this better not hit my bank account.
The IRS is GHETTO. They've stopped taking calls and give you limited little to no help. I'm frustrated! They've taking 4,900 out of my business account and still harassing me to pay. So interest is accruing as we speak. I'm over it and I rather have my money back.

If you ever manage to get through to a live representative on the phone, you'll more than likely have waited an hour just for them to not take a look at your refund status and tell you it takes 3 weeks to process. Their website is issuing no updates and the mobile app is no better. I guess we all just have to blindly wait for our refunds with no idea on when to expect them. I've attached a step by step on talking to a live representative for the rest of you who may want to try. My advice is not to waste your time until it's been 3 weeks since your return has been accepted.
1 day late charged me $600 penalty charges. They steal, they kill and destroy just as their father Satan. Go to hell, all of you. Would love for you to show up at my doorstep and announce yourselves. Treason against their own people.
I was on hold for an hour and 10 minutes and they hung up on me. I submitted a form over 60 days ago and am supposed to have received the application status already in mail. The only way to find out the status is of course by calling and calling them is the worst experience ever. I called and was on hold for 48 minutes for someone to answer and tell me they had to transfer my call to another department, I asked is there a direct number to call the department for next time and she said no we always have to transfer you and I waited another 40 minutes for them to hang up on my call. Very unpleasant experience and I am upset like why do we pay taxes for it to be so difficult to send our forms by mail, have no fast way to check the status, very very non efficient. IRS should use the money we put towards paying taxes and fix their online website so there can be a live chat or services to see status of forms or receive much faster help, IRS is very out dated and un professional

We pay them all our money & in return we receive horrible customer service! I filed a amended return in late February. They did not mark received for processing until March. Okay, almost 20 weeks later and the only update they can provide is that it will take 4 more weeks to process. Lies & bulls***!
I've been waiting 9 months for my 2019 income tax return and there telling me it could be another 4 months! This is Bs! They are thieves and do everything possible to not pay you your money! Somebody needs to Sue the IRS!
Transferred multiple times (each time waiting 30 minutes to 1 hour) then given different phone numbers to call... (Only to be transferred again). It's like a big circle jerk. Nobody seems to have an ability to resolve anything. Cannot verify tax returns, pending $ owed, or other before going through (so far) 8 different people... It's likely a good thing for them that they do not have to deal with competitors. If this were the case I think they would have gone out of business long ago.
I submitted an amended 2020 return in October 2021, and still today (3/2022) there has been 'no action' taken to process the return. They've had it since 10/21, but no action taken. It's just sitting.
I had one chance to speak with a rep on an extension # after waiting almost 45 min. The rep confirmed 'no action' due to their backlog.
I've already waited 16 weeks, and the rep said another 12-16 weeks 'will be added'! Additionally. She said, "Don't call back until May 2022"! That's what she said, don't call back. Smh. What have we come to?!
What's worse is, that the 2021 returns many preceded or compete with the further processing of 2020 submissions. Smh. Grossly mismanaged!

I have tried talking to a real person for almost 2 months. Can't even check the status of my refund through the *******1954 automated system because it won't let me put in my social security. The IRS as a whole just gotta do better cause this is sad as hell.
I was on hold for literally an hour and 59 minutes only for the guy to say something when I was taken off hold and when I said 'hello', he hung up. I'm so mad, it's hilarious. It won't let me set up a payment plan on the website which is encouraged so I have to call in to deal with this nonsense. And yes, I added a screenshot of the number and time for proof.You can call that number and see that it is a legit IRS number.I wish I didn't have to give a star..
They removed the option to sign in with an IRS username, then have the audacity to make legal threats for not making payments. ID.me will not verify me. They say "contact the IRS for 'alternative options' for verifying my identity". No such options exist. Only options to request tax transcripts by mail. I sent in my 2020 tax returns TWICE by mail. Neither were received by the IRS. How about opening the doors, for decent people to actually pay their taxes, instead of making this horrible, soul-crushing process even more burdensome? We literally just want to get your absurd, monotonous paperwork over with and enjoy our lives too, worthless pieces of trash.

This site is the most ridiculous and inaccessible sure I've ever visited everyone doesn't have debt for you to check identity I. E. (Credit card, auto loan, mortgage loan, student loans, etc). Extremely displeased. Then when I call IRS they say due to call volume and what you are calling about you can't be helped at this time and hung up in my ear. I bet if I don't pay they will be quick to send me a letter in the $#*!ing mail though. This is ridiculous
I have been waiting months for my refund. The website is absolutely useless, they won't take your calls so how are you supposed to even find out why you haven't received your refund. They don't hesitate to take your money but take their time returning it... they should have to pay it back WITH INTEREST! Talk about a communist organization! If I could give no stars, I would as they don't even deserve one star. I bet they never stopped getting a paycheck even though they are not doing their job. They probably get pleasure out of causing stress on Americans. It's probably not even Americans working for them.

If you have to make payments it's so confusing. They will take money out of your bank but the balance you own never goes down you wondering where did they money goes who are you paying. When calling you ll be hold for hours and hours even you pick the option for them to call you back they ll called and still put you on. Get ready to have a irritating day when calling. I wonder if those people for irs are even human beings and how does tax work for them. Do they get a pass since they are working for irs? Been calling since 8.30 after a long wait phone got disconnected here I am ak now it's 12 pm
