I wish i could talk face to face with these rude $#*! inconsiderate $#*! people. The United States in general is trash as $#*!..
IRS has by far the most disrespectful people working for them. Now someone used my SS # and filed for me. I had to end up mailing my return back. Long story short... I called gave them info waited another 2 months NOTHING! Now today I got time Im home and decided o call them The 1st rep picked up and goes "my name is not necessary, but my ID # is so and so" she said so fast I didn't even get to write it down. She then says "is this for payment or for a return" I said return, she just clicked the phone back to the automatic system and put me on hold again, mind you I was already on hold for 1 hr 23 minutes... now another 1 answered the phone, but this time the phone on her end was going in and out so I made her aware and automatically she gets an attitude. I say "Ms please understand I've now been holding for 2 hours so I'm frustrated and now your phone is going in and out" I'm not 100% sure what she was saying but all you hear is attitude she then puts me on hold and about 2 minutes she hangs up. Again had I owed the IRS money y'all would of been on my back and in my account deducting. YOU GUYS OWE ME SO WHY ALL THE ATTITUDE AND WHATS THE DAMN DELAY. I have not received no letters in the mail or NOTHING stating the delay. Get some respectful people with proper communication and less attitude to work. I'm a taxpayer I need to know what's going on. I can promise you if I was a white person or had it been a white person on the other end of the line he/she would of gotten the ultimate top tier respect. This is just so sad and if I didn't have to call trust me I WOULD NOT
UPDATE: IM LITERALLY STILL ON HOLD
I have tried talking to a real person for almost 2 months. Can't even check the status of my refund through the *******1954 automated system because it won't let me put in my social security. The IRS as a whole just gotta do better cause this is sad as hell.
Tried to make an appointment to go in person but the line was always "too busy to take my call" so I went in person anyway and was told I would need an appointment. Two years have passed after covid 19 and they still apologize for this,
Justifying his inattention and poor work. Shame!
The IRS reps are mean, nasty, disrespectful, and inconsiderate when handling customers! They are always trying to make you seem like you are stupid, can't comprehend anything, or are less than human. They are trained to talk down to you! No matter how many times I tried to speak, this guy kept talking over me and not listening to anything. Finally, when I called him out on his TERRIBLE customer service, after being on hold for damn near 2 hours to talk to someone, he had the audacity to hang up on me! After I've spent 2 hours just waiting to speak to a rude $#*!, how dare you hang up a call on a person because you don't like what they said. Business is business and my business wasn't conducted and this jerk decided it was because he wanted to feel like he was in control. I don't know what it is about government employees but they ALL feel like they are ENTITLED to be controlling and disrespectful. The USPS employees are the same! If I could give the IRS a negative rating, I would give them a negative 1000!
After waiting for two hours an employee named "Daunce" with and employee number: *******455 was extremely rude. She refused to repeat what she was asking for and will not allow me to help my dad clarify her questions. I understand that these employees go through a lot, but if they are not willing to deal with the work load, please find a different profession and stop ruining other people's lives and work in your professionalism.
Using the IRS - ID.me system to access my account has proven to be a mission impossible for me. My smartphone could not take pictures of specified quality, or send them quick enough, or fit within the range of the bytes required by the system. All lines of IRS are busy asking me to call another day. The good old days when I called the IRS and got an answer in 10 minutes are long gone. The ID.me system tramples on any and all ideas of convenience of a taxpayer. I have spent hours trying to access my account in vain.
What misery! Is our country too poor to afford a sufficient number of clerks to answer inquiries so that it must steal hours of time from whoever tries to access its tax agency online? I would try to handle it all by mail.
Who are the tax masters that send out letters stating there were corrections made and x form/forms are not filled out correctly. When calling to get assistance on how to fill out or correct the form, all of a sudden no one from the IRS is capable of helping or my luck was that the people who answered my phone are just bodies to help with phone calls and are just trained to say make an appointment with you local IRS here's the phone number but I'm not sure or familiar with the prompts. When I worked as a representative of a company I was required to know what I was doing and know the systems so that my answer was never I DONT KNOW. The embarrassing part is that these people are government employees and that is who they represent. If they're so quick to say I DONT KNOW then transfer me why are the wait times so long?
What other service organization in this country can get away with treating customers so badly?
I have been trying to find the status of my Amended Return that was received almost 11 months ago (IRS Web tool tells me to call *******582) and after going through 3 minutes of entering information, telling me when they receive my amended return, they say "Thank you for calling IRS" and hang up.
The only other number to call is *******040 which eventually takes you to the same menu of information adding and again hangs up.
I have written my Congressman and hope something can be done about this. The lack of IRS accountablity is unexceptable.
None of the phone numbers is able to talk to a real person. After entering all of the information needed in the effort to talk, what I got is "we are experiencing extremely high call volumes, please call us back another day."
I am 48 years old so I have dealt with the IRS's negligence, laziness, and unprofessionalism for many years. You can never speak with a representative. The automated service is lengthy then it directs you to another automated service. It seems that there is an arrogance about this organization, where they feel that they do not need to offer even the most basic of services and professionalism. I receive better service at McDonald's! There is plenty of stress involved with taxes and dues that are owed yet no help from them whatsoever. The good thing is that whatever actions you give out are coming right back. This organization is truly An embarrassment. DO YOUR JOB!
I have been trying to get in touch with someone to see the status of our ERC. 10 tries and no answer! All on different days. Call volume too high over and over. This is what we pay for? No help at all. A private company would be out of business. Where can you call to talk with someone. ERC can not be done online. I would give them a minus 10 stars if I could.
They removed the option to sign in with an IRS username, then have the audacity to make legal threats for not making payments. ID.me will not verify me. They say "contact the IRS for 'alternative options' for verifying my identity". No such options exist. Only options to request tax transcripts by mail. I sent in my 2020 tax returns TWICE by mail. Neither were received by the IRS. How about opening the doors, for decent people to actually pay their taxes, instead of making this horrible, soul-crushing process even more burdensome? We literally just want to get your absurd, monotonous paperwork over with and enjoy our lives too, worthless pieces of trash.
My story is like everyone else, disregarded, waited 3 hours after being transferred to be hung up on. I get it we're all pretty much screwed. They set an a pile of money that people need and don't care one bit. But they've made a huge mistake it has not hit my account yet. I've called and let them know their mistake and was pretty much blown off. I'm supposed to Receive 5000-ish. This is what they have. First they had $45,630 the next week they added 10,000 more. Get your crap together and this better not hit my bank account.
First off, I completely understand that these people must deal with the backside of humanity constantly. I've worked in customer service all my life and I know firsthand what people are like, especially when their money is involved. I don't need to be treated like a long-lost buddy, particularly not by the IRS. All I want is to get things accomplished with a modicum of professionalism. Having said all that, I do ask to be treated like a human being with a brain. The agent I spoke to, whose name I will not mention, needs to have somebody shove a dirty sock in her mouth and hold it shut. She was arrogant, rude, hateful, and treated me like I had just gotten out of kindergarten. She interrupted me multiple times, talked over me, would not let me finish a sentence or ask any questions, and repeatedly asked me the same thing without ever giving me a chance to answer. Then when I finally confronted her about 20 minutes in she hung up on me. All I basically said was that I wasn't stupid. Rarely have I met anybody as objectionable as her, and trust me I've met quite a lot. The next agent I spoke to was somewhat better. Still interrupted, still talked over me, and was extremely defensive. I told her that I understood her job was difficult but I had a mind and was capable of understanding the situation. Her response was "You should've done this, we're short-staffed, we're busy, covid covid covid blah blah blah." Well guess what, everyone everywhere is short-staffed and busy. We're all in the same boat. That does NOT mean you get to treat people like the dirt on the bottom of your shoes. If it had been just this one incident I would have probably written it off, but everyone I've talked to from the IRS has been similar, just with varying degrees of rancor. Again, I understand that their job is very difficult and they do deal with people who are the exact same way they are, but I would suggest to them that they remember, we, the taxpayers, are the ones that pay their salary. They work for us, not the other way around. I sincerely hope they don't act this way in their personal life.
I have been calling the IRS identity verification line for 7 months I have not being able to talk to anyone yet I still call every day it says the same thing over and over. I need my money they suck I have no other number to call
The IRS of Fresno, CA sent a notice to my address during December of 2019 (dated 12/2/2019) stating a refund due to me in the amount of $963.42, which was an adjustment to my earned income credit for my 2018 Form 1040. I was according to the notice to receive this refund within 2-3 weeks, but I have received nothing.
I have already contacted the IRS about this issue and I was told there would be an investigation and a letter was sent to my address about it. I have received some notices during January 2020 erroneously addressing another issue regarding my tax refund for 2018, which has been already resolved as of November 22,2019. An interest of 24.48 is included in the first half of my 2018 tax refund of 987.90.
The IRS in Fresno, CA was originally handling my tax refund, but then decided to send it to the IRS in Kansas City, MO, which finally issued the first part of my refund after I had obtained an IRS Tax Advocate in Portland, Oregon to assist me. His name is Robert Wicklund and can reached at *******580 and his ID is #*******833, which will be stated on his answering service.
I last contacted the IRS on the phone on January 29,2020 to address the issue of my notice stating my additional refund of $963.42. After waiting 30 minutes I was finally able to get someone on the phone and I then explained my situation to this IRS representative, but I was told by him outright that I was already paid my refund and that I was not going to get another one. I angrily responded by stating that I am going to get the rest of my refund and then I quickly disconnected my call.
Since that time, not only have I not received the rest of my 2019 refund, but I have not even received my 2020 refund of $1033. 00, which is still on record at www.efile.com, but I cannot get it released to me because I do not have the PIN that the IRS claims they sent me previously.
Hello,
I have been trying to pay my tax returns and it has been nothing but a run-around. Representatives answer no calls whatsoever and if you try to make a payment it redirects you. Not only do they take our money but our time as well. Horrible
Every year they try mailing my refund and it gets lost every time! Like are you serious?! It's my money and I need it now! And then you can't even get ahold of them because "they're too busy" are you joking me? Should I just not do my job too because "I'm too busy"?
Answer: You can't. They make it a point that if your owed a refund that you can't contact them. But if you owe them money it's not hard at all. CORRUPT
Answer: I used Walmart's Green Dot money card for mine, and I received it right away.
Answer: Thought it wpuld be faster than any other site. Boy, was I ever wrong.
