The a****** I talked To at the I, R, s, why is it? They all have to be such a freakin c********* The? The bottom line is, does everybody that works for the irs all just d********. It would be nice if you could just have a conversation with those people and discuss your issue without them analyzing you or thinking you're some kind of crook. Best regards if Trump is in office. He does away with the internal revenue will be the best day of our life. And I hope it's the worst day of yours. Cause now you're NOW unemployed.

I would agree with most of the reviews previously written about this CSR department. They have made an "art form," of making you wait on hold, if they don't hang up on you when it is your turn, they transfer you to the wrong department who returns you to being on hold, they tell you the system is down if you get through, or if you really get through they "double talk" a ridiculous answer which doesn't even address the problem. Truly, I was in tears after 4 hours with no results-then they were closed for the day. Do not use their "preferred" online payment system. I created an installment agreement for 2020 taxes which cost me $149 (nice way to treat American citizens... huh), paid the 1st installment before due date on the Jan 3d, had an opportunity to make a little extra money and paid the entire balance on the 5th (two days later). 2 days ago received a request for unpaid installments. The online payment system applied it to 2016 taxes. I only had one installment contract and it wasn't for 2016, just 2020. Was told by one CSR, I didn't file 2016 taxes (which I did), but what that has to do with re-directing a payment for a specific installment contract... I don't know. When asked where that payment is, I was told I don't know. So essentially The IRS payment plan just arbitrarily took a payment I made and applied it to an unknown slush fund... who knows. Do yourself a favor and pay by check or your own online bill pay... it appears I have been ripped off to the tune of $548.84... and there is nothing that I can do about it. Consider yourself warned. By the way, you cannot even email or upload a problem... only option is the horrifying call into the CSR department... which I am only using that term loosely... There is no service involved here.

Tip for consumers:
Do not use the online payment center.

How many employees do you have? Because when it benefits the IRS it's impossible to avoid them. But when the situation is in favor of the tax payer, it's as though trying to locate someone in the witness protection program. The phone systems tell you up front that they don't want to do anything to help people so they are not taking any calls. Or in their words "We are experiencing high call volume, please try your call later. " and then it hangs up on you. They can set all the rules for how things have to be done. Yet they don't have to follow any rules at all. Even though in FY 2022, the IRS used 79,070 full-time equivalent (FTE) positions. With those numbers you would think you could get someone on the phone. And why does it take SOOOOO long to get a refund? If you owe money and don't make an arrangement for payments, it's brimstone and fire. They owe you and it's, "Check back in 21 days" or "Its been sent so you will have to wait for the mail system.". Funny because it doesn't take any other mail 30 days to go from Pennsylvania to any place in the United States. So a new lie to tell people should be used from now on. And I feel like that with the amount of money exchanged back and forth, we should be on more of a personal basis. I have to go into one of your locations for hours of my life to be lost only to prove who I am. Makes me wonder why the hell don't you have to prove who you are to me? I'm supposed to just trust the process? Or is that only when you are owed money from me that trust is expected? But when you owe tax payers money one step away from a DNA test is needed. Seems hypocritical to me.

The IRS have completely ruined my life.
For sum unknown reason they decided to have me verify my identity and not notify me and I'm almost on month two of waiting for my 2021 tax returns. (Its funny they didnt need me to verify my identity when they were taking the money out of my paycheck and never even slightly hesitated to take it. But now they are doing everything they can blow me off and not give me my returns).
I've verified my identity and was supposed to receive a email to have a video call to verify my documents I sent in. They said it would be 2-3 buisness days and that was 2 weeks ago and I've heard nothing. Ive called and they just tell me to call this number and that number tells me to call the original number and they say I need to do this snd that. I do it call again and they just send me in a loop and I filed Jan 26th and it was accepted on Jan 26th its now Feb. 22. Ive gotten no help no reply no notices. And that maybe becuz since the IRS has played us Americans and took us for fools just like a certain party in power. Ive now been evicted and my family of 4 and I live n my lil ford ranger. As well as I lost my job due to the pandemic. But every time ive told a IRS agent this tragedy they just respond with the same robotic cold responses like I didn't hear or understand them the first 10x whatever they said from the script they are reading off of.
An investigation really needs to be done at THE IRS and which ever corrupt lying terrorist is in charge of the irs needs to be held up for review and charged

IRS is a FKING SCAM! How people don't even notice this is beyond me! They force you to pay hundreds of thousands, if not MILLIONS in taxes, NEVER contribute back and just STEAL STEAL STEAL all your own hard-earned money! WHY this agency never had its facilities burnt down by protesters is BEYOND ME. This agency STEALS YOUR MONEY and uses it to pay for "social services" overseas in ISRAEL. WTF does that country have ANYTHING to do with American taxpayers? NOTHING! This is how America is getting bankrupt and millions are growing into homelessness each and every day. The average person works 3 fking jobs overtime and can't even afford to pay rent because of the amount of taxes taken away from them! My father just got denied Social Security benefits after contributing over $400,000 in taxes alone from his 35+ years working here. He is a disabled man who worked all his life. HOW TF is Social Security going to deny him his entitled benefits after the IRS STOLE ALL HIS MONEY? THIS FACILITY IRS IS A FKING S. C. A.M. IRS NEEDS TO BE BURNED TO THE FKING GROUND. PROTESTERS BETTER FCK THIS AGENCY UP!

First off, I completely understand that these people must deal with the backside of humanity constantly. I've worked in customer service all my life and I know firsthand what people are like, especially when their money is involved. I don't need to be treated like a long-lost buddy, particularly not by the IRS. All I want is to get things accomplished with a modicum of professionalism. Having said all that, I do ask to be treated like a human being with a brain. The agent I spoke to, whose name I will not mention, needs to have somebody shove a dirty sock in her mouth and hold it shut. She was arrogant, rude, hateful, and treated me like I had just gotten out of kindergarten. She interrupted me multiple times, talked over me, would not let me finish a sentence or ask any questions, and repeatedly asked me the same thing without ever giving me a chance to answer. Then when I finally confronted her about 20 minutes in she hung up on me. All I basically said was that I wasn't stupid. Rarely have I met anybody as objectionable as her, and trust me I've met quite a lot. The next agent I spoke to was somewhat better. Still interrupted, still talked over me, and was extremely defensive. I told her that I understood her job was difficult but I had a mind and was capable of understanding the situation. Her response was "You should've done this, we're short-staffed, we're busy, covid covid covid blah blah blah." Well guess what, everyone everywhere is short-staffed and busy. We're all in the same boat. That does NOT mean you get to treat people like the dirt on the bottom of your shoes. If it had been just this one incident I would have probably written it off, but everyone I've talked to from the IRS has been similar, just with varying degrees of rancor. Again, I understand that their job is very difficult and they do deal with people who are the exact same way they are, but I would suggest to them that they remember, we, the taxpayers, are the ones that pay their salary. They work for us, not the other way around. I sincerely hope they don't act this way in their personal life.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid the IRS like the plague.

I am trying to get my deceased fathers 2019 income tax refund and getting a run around! The last rep I talked to Mr.Spanos, was the ruddest person I have ever dealt with. He started yelling at me as soon as I started to talk! He sounded more like a sanitation worker than a trained representative. He wouldn't even let me talk to explain my situation! If you can't deal with people get another job!

I have just got off the phone with the IRS trying to make an appointment for our local IRS office. The agent that I spoke with ultimately hung up on me after he looked into my file and told me ma'am it would be another four to six weeks before you get your return for 2019. Since May of last year when I filed I was told I would get my refund by June the 13th I get a letter in the mail stating I need to verify my identity and was unsuccessful at getting a appointment at the local IRS office where you could do it. I did get a credit card in my name so I could verify my identity so my refund process could continue on I did this at the beginning of October I still hadn't heard anything by the third week in December I talked to an agent who told me that she had put in a letter stating that my tax file review would be would be completed by the first week of February we are going into April 1st. There has been nothing to any eveil, well I spoke with the agent this morning he said it would be another four to six weeks as I tried to explain when I called in December I heard the same thing the agent hung up on me. My question is does it seem quite Fair to keep being put off for whatever reason on my refund and have an attitude with customer service? SMH

The IRS of Fresno, CA sent a notice to my address during December of 2019 (dated 12/2/2019) stating a refund due to me in the amount of $963.42, which was an adjustment to my earned income credit for my 2018 Form 1040. I was according to the notice to receive this refund within 2-3 weeks, but I have received nothing.

I have already contacted the IRS about this issue and I was told there would be an investigation and a letter was sent to my address about it. I have received some notices during January 2020 erroneously addressing another issue regarding my tax refund for 2018, which has been already resolved as of November 22,2019. An interest of 24.48 is included in the first half of my 2018 tax refund of 987.90.

The IRS in Fresno, CA was originally handling my tax refund, but then decided to send it to the IRS in Kansas City, MO, which finally issued the first part of my refund after I had obtained an IRS Tax Advocate in Portland, Oregon to assist me. His name is Robert Wicklund and can reached at *******580 and his ID is #*******833, which will be stated on his answering service.

I last contacted the IRS on the phone on January 29,2020 to address the issue of my notice stating my additional refund of $963.42. After waiting 30 minutes I was finally able to get someone on the phone and I then explained my situation to this IRS representative, but I was told by him outright that I was already paid my refund and that I was not going to get another one. I angrily responded by stating that I am going to get the rest of my refund and then I quickly disconnected my call.

Since that time, not only have I not received the rest of my 2019 refund, but I have not even received my 2020 refund of $1033. 00, which is still on record at www.efile.com, but I cannot get it released to me because I do not have the PIN that the IRS claims they sent me previously.

Waited on hold for 90 minutes. I verified who I was and the client I represented. Then I was transferred to another IRS agent who "couldn't hear me" so she disconnected the call. Ninety minutes of waiting for two minutes of verification and then getting hung up on! What the world IRS! And at the same time, we are receiving tax notices and have two weeks to respond. How are these processes even acceptable by the American people? Come on now IRS! I will not milk my client for all of this inefficient waste of time! If they had it like that, they wouldn't be in need of an installment agreement in the first place! This whole day has consisted of trying to schedule an installment agreement for my client. I tried online first via the POA option and after everything is verified and I have the new amount to be paid and the due date, the website has "technical difficulties" and I am unable to complete the installment agreement. So, we then chat with an IRS agent who says that since we are logged in as tax professionals, they are unable to pull up the client account and assist with completing the changes for his installment agreement Why would I impersonate my client? Why is all of this even necessary? How antiquated is our government really? When is enough enough? Then, when things aren't completed by the deadline, the taxpayer is faced with additional penalties and interest... what a fluke! Upgrade your processes! Have a little more decency about yourself! Increase your care about servicing the American people! If this is too much for you to handle - outsource it to people who actually care and aim to lessen the burden of American citizens! Yes I am flustered and disappointed in what is considered acceptable. Hence this review. Hmph!

I filed my dead mother's taxes for 2019 and made the mistake of leaving her address as the mailing address. Her house had been sold so her tax return was sent back to the IRS as undeliverable. When I realized my mistake, I checked the status of the refund through the IRS website. It gave me specific instructions on how to get the mailing address changed. Call a number, give the representative the reference number displayed on the screen, and have the taxpayer's SSN ready and all the tax return information.
I waited for 45 minutes and finally got someone on the phone. They did absolutely nothing to help. When I mentioned the status screen from irs.gov and that it gave me a reference number, he acted like he had never heard of such a thing and never even asked me to repeat it to him. I had previously entered my mother's information into to the phone before I got through to an agent and of course, I had to give all that to him again.
He asked for my name. I told him my name and that I was her son and the one who filed her taxes and I simply needed to change where her refund is mailed. I explained she was deceased, which it will clearly show on her return. All he told me was that I wasn't authorized on the account. I asked who needed to call and he said he couldn't tell me because I wasn't authorized on the account. That is all he offered.
So, I guess the IRS is running a scam where if you file taxes for a dead relative and the check is mailed back for whatever reason, they will keep the tax return.
- It is obvious, by the fact the return was mailed back, the return needs to go to a different address.
- The check will be made out to my mother, so all we can do is deposit it into her estate account.
- So to just keep the check and refuse to send it to the correct address is ridiculous and criminal.
- The status screen at irs.gov said absolutely nothing about an "account" or having to be authorized on it.
Only options are to write a letter and hope they respond or sit on the phone for another 45 minutes and demand a supervisor. This is not what paying taxes should be like. It's a childish nightmare every year having to deal with this worthless organization.
