Overall, JCP is the best shopping site anyone can visit. They have quality items and a great value. I have been shopping at their brick and mortor stores for a long time, now my online experience is wonderful. Nothing makes me more happy than to browse their website (my go to place for fashion, beauty, home and gifts). Everything I need is just a click away. There is no question, if I order something from JCP it will be a quality item. I have never been disappointed. My favorite brands women's clothing LIz Claiborn and A.N.A. I have only had to return someting once, it was simple as it could be. Customer service talk to people in a respectful manner and are willing to help explain returns etc. JCP is a no stress place to shop. Thank you JCP and keep up the great job!
I will start by saying that I have made many JCPenney purchases. Within the past 3-4 months, my experiences have been spiraling to a fast decline. I online ordered a pair of shoes. I received a box with the correct size, but the shoes inside were of a different size. In order to process a return - I would have to pay $8 to return them by mail, or drive 1.5 hours to return it back to the store. Why should I have to pay for their fault? Most recently, JCPenney had a promotion called the Gold Coupon Giveaway that went on August 1st-4th, 2024. I revealed 50% off coupon code. I ordered 11 items. 10 days after ordering, I check on the status online. 2 of the items says "Cancelled." The other 9 items say "Backordered." I called customer service - as they apparently do not have a chat feature - to inquire why I didn't receive an email/notification of the cancelled items, why I haven't received a refund, how I somehow picked out 11 items that are all basically not available for purchase, and when they anticipate the backordered items would be back in supply. I got put on hold for the CSR to inquire about the refund, he told me, "It looks like they forgot to push the refund through." I asked why I hadn't been notified of the items status update, he told me, "We don't do that." How is it possible that I picked 11 items that are all not available? He said, "We are overwhelmed by the orders that we received during that promotion, and our suppliers is out of 80% of the items ordered." Should I expect to eventually get the 9 items that are on backorder? He said, "Likely they will be cancelled." Great! For those that utilized a coupon, and their entire order gets cancelled - do they get an extension/exception to utilize the coupon? He said, "Nope. We are cancelling orders that had the 50% coupon used." It has been 3 weeks since I ordered - all items have been cancelled now - no refund still to date, no email communication. Be wary. Their marketing and customer service practices are less than couthful. I am picturing law firms putting out an abundancy of commercials for compensation, in the near future - for mal-retail services rendered by JCPenney.
I received a pair of shoes from JC Penny that I did not order. I called customer service. Told them I had been billed and wished to have my account credited. I returned the shoes promptly, but still received a bill. I did not pay it because I assumed it had been taken care of. Now I'm being charged a past due amount of $28.95 AND a $2 "fee". I sent them a check just to get this nonsense stopped. I will NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH JCPENNY AGAIN! Lee A. Davis

I ordered a few items online, and exceeded the minimum to get free delivery. At the time of ordering there was no delivery charge. However, one of my items was canceled AFTER the charge, $35 running shoes (+tax).
This shows that their system is not great. If the item was not available, I shouldn't been charged for that.
However, I was charged. That put the total below the amount for minimum, which incurred a delivery charge.
I was refunded the amount for the canceled shoes, MINUS $20. Refund was $18. How they will explain that?
Delivery charge is $8.95.
If they will refund me my money, I will amend my posting.
The store in Evansville Indiana is a mess! Clothes on the floors, making it a safety hazard and racks of dresses not separated by size that are too full! The dressing rooms have clothes on the floor and the rooms are too tiny especially since they put a big chair in each one. The prices are way too high too. I picked up a pair of ordinary cotton capris and they were $48! It was a joke. Plus the clothing selection is very outdated and in a lot of cases just plain ugly. I finally went to Walmart and was able to purchase a pair of capris and a pair of shorts in the same quality of the Penny's merchandise for less than I would have paid for one item at Penny's. I don't plan in going back.
We ordered a mattress on July 25. Were told it might take time and to check back if we hadn't heard anything by August 11.
We called on August 13 and were not given any information. We were told to try again if we hadn't gotten a call to schedule the delivery in a couple more days.
We called August 18 and were told the salesperson answering did not have any information about our order and to call back the next day when the salesperson we worked with should be there.
We called back August 19, and were told they would contact shipping and call us back with information. We did not receive a return phone call.
At this point we are talking about canceling the order so that we can finally get the mattress from somewhere else, but have still not been able to communicate with the store to talk about this.
I got a notice from my bank that a payment for JC Penney of $144.99, was returned and credited to my account. Then I got a notice from JC Penney (Synchrony Bank) that my payment of $60 was late. Synchrony Bank screwed up and it better not be a mark against my stellar credit rating. I bothered to capture the information from my bank statement however this very website will not allow me to add the photo (JPG, PDF, or Word) as it is saying the image is too big. Synchrony and JC Penney rectify your error and your reporting to the credit bureaus and email me that you have *******@yahoo.com

I called JCP furniture only to be on hold for 35 mins and then to only be told that M XD delivery had not informed JCP that they had picked up our bedroom set this past Monday. Shawn, the manager finally gave me a processing of refund reference number. He said it can take ANOTHER 48-72 hours for our refund, our money to show back on our JCP Card. Yet another delay. Our money has in fact been hijacked and we are no longer willing to be lied to and put off by JCP. $4800 dollars may not seem like alot to JCP but it very much is to your customer. I purchased a table and chair set that was marked $599.00 down from $1,500. The salesman told us that since there was no price on the chairs that they were included. We paid for the set but when we came back to pick it up 2 hours later we were told that we were misinformed and there is a charge for the chairs. They charged us an additional $311 for the chairs rather than honoring the saleman's error. In the meantime if you look up a similar set on Ashley furniture, a similar set, brand new, not a floor model goes for $1,100. Don't purchase from JC Penney in Crossgates Mall in Albany, NY.
My order history disappeared on my account! I called 3 different times, CSS are stupid, transferred me, then kept saying her was sorry, and reading from a script, I said can you please take my credit card number and find my orders? CSS guy (hard to understand accent) kept reading stuff about his supervisor would be notified yet he NEVER offered to help me so I hung up.
I bought insurance through JCPenney in 2014, premiums were $90.37 per month which were all paid up until December 2020. However JCPenney did not forward some the money I paid them through my JCPenney Credit card which caused my policy to lapse and I lost approximately $7,500 in premium payments. I've tried to sort out the problem through JCPenney customer Services with no result. I also tried to get redress through JCPenney/Synchrony Bank but all efforts have been futile. JCPenney scammed me by misappropriating some of the funds I paid them for insurance premiums. They're dishonest and cannot be trusted. Stay away from JCPenney. My next resort will be to report them to the Federal Trade Commission
Its Aug and I'm still waiting on a Christmas present I ordered last December. When I finally got someone on the phone, they had no idea where it was; said if it was on a truck somewhere, they couldn't track it until it was unloaded. Then they told me I could even cancel the order until I received it.
I have a bad experience with the jcpenny appliances. We bought a stove and they told us that they had professionals to connect the stove to the gas and we paid $100 for the installation, when they came to install it they left gas leaking and my family, 2 dogs and I for 4 days inhaling gas. We called MN energy but they couldn't do anything because they said that it wasn't their job since that day, Friday 25 to this day we haven't been able to use the new stove because jcpenny wasn't responsible of the gas leak. We have gone 3 times to the Jcpenney appliance center and they only give us phone numbers to call and don't help us whatsoever. They are a company of liars. If I could give this no stars I would. The managers of appliance center are clueless, it's unbelievable!
You advertise the you ship 7-10 days. You say nothing about not processing the order for 10 days AFTER it's been ordered before it is even placed for mailing. That is 20 days! My item was ordered in plenty of time to get here but you say it wasn't verified and retired my payment to the bank without even contacting me! There was NOTHING WRONG with my order OR with the bank that processed the return you sent back to My account. I ordered something online but found a better deal somewhere else so I tried to cancel the irder that I just placed. I ordered as a guest but definitely wasn't treated like one. I talked to customer service and they informed me that I could not cancel the order. Then I realized that the store the item is being shipped to was 4 hours away from where I live so I asked if they could change the store it was shipped to but again they said no. They were very rude and unapologetic so much that I just burst into tears because I was so frustrated. Never doing business with JCPennys again.
This was hands down the WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had! DO NOT ORDER *******@jcpenney! I purchased a beautiful king bedframe, they came and set it up and it was broken in a few places and they refuse to correct the mistake unless I pay a restocking fee! Not only that the delivery was 3 hours late with no one to contact me to say if they were coming or not, so I sat home all day and night waiting... I have spoken with several "escalation reps" and nothing has been done, they are condescending and rude! One woman stated it was going to be taken care of, I waited 5 days and heard nothing. I call back and it was never taken care of, she lied! I cannot express enough NOT to purchase furniture from this company!
I've purchased curtains/rods, towels, socks, blue jeans... a balaclava... a hiking hat. Loved everything! It's easy to just walk in or shop online and pick it up in the store. Really love JCPenney's!
Got my order on time. Good quality materials. Good sale prices. Only once did I get something where the sizing was a bit off. Other than that, good service.
I ordered from web site because always had great experience, but NOT this time. Thank you for a disappointing Christmas 2015. Your website gave me the option of store or home I chose store because of the value. After receiving tracking number I then found out it doesn't deliver to store so my package was returned to original sender --- now product OUT of STOCK.(thanks) the bad part was customer service NOT trying to satisfy me with any kind of option. JCP needs to understand GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE is the product you need to sell. I will seek the product from other retail and spend more but I WILL receive GREAT customer service.
I was buying King comforter in Dec 2022 in my card and Jc penny continue sly sending Pay that amount and increasing with interest. I am try to explain I just use my JC Penny card some 5% discount never pay by this. I am a person never owe any money from any place and this is first time and I went store and Call but no body understand and show me my transition details.
I am not recommanded use big clearance sale in JCpenny looks like the store disorganize and doing rush period wrong transaction.
Kids' clothes are affordable good quality and last a long time. I often shop for the old navy as it's easy safe, and has good customer service overall.
Do not expect to talk to anyone once your appliances are delivered. I've spent 3 days calling all day and waiting 30 minutes each call and still haven't reached anyone at customer service.
I wish I could give it zero stars. I ordered 3 items to be picked up at my area store. Two of the items came in, i was charged for the 3 items, but the store won't release the items unti l all 3 are in. But the 3rd item is out of stock! I've made calls to customer service and the store with extremely frustrating results. Penney's will be out of business soon is my predection as they cannot keep up with the big boys
I doubt they will be in business much longer. I tried ordering online and picking up at the local mall. The mall employees I dealt with were good helpful in customer service BUT NOT THOSE you reach on their Customer service number? I was missing 2 items from my order and they called in about it and that woman was absolutely clueless? They told her to mail the 2 missing items to my house but a month later nothing arrives and I got no update in my emails or contact info? I called up after the hoopla of end of school/graduation time today to find out that their story is the 2 items are out of stock, they were returned (although I explained over and over again that clerk didn't want me to get charged twice, it was an override saying that I didn't receive the 2 items) and since I was on hold so long, I did see the credits on my account. Obviously, there was some mistake but nobody wants to hear about it, admit to any error and the best part, don't expect any "sorry about that"? Wow, well they certainly deserve to lose business to the likes of amazon who excel at customer service and when they close down, oh well. I spoke to the customer service rep and a supposed manager but neither had any decency to really help nor say sorry about the whole situation? I tried to help fix their problem so it doesn't happen to anyone else but none of the employees at the customer service/management really care. Stay away & be aware!
Don't buy anymore promotional items with payments, is tricky after expiration! I will never shop anymore at JC Penney & will never recommend to the other customers about this company! I'm done!
Customer neglect is the operating standard at JCPenney based on my Feb 2022 experience. The retailer refused to issue me a full refund for a dress that I ordered online and returned promptly to the store. It was in perfect condition, in original packaging, tags were attached, and I presented it with my jcpenney.com receipt. Instead, a $10.20 "adjustment" was deducted with no explanation. When I called an associate at jcpenney.com to report this she said it was a mistake and I would have to go back to the store to correct it. I had no intention of driving to JCPenney again, so I called the Avenues Mall store a dozen different times and never got an answer. Then I wrote a complaint letter to the store manager (listed on LinkedIn as Carla Finney) and sent it via UPS so there would be proof of delivery. I stated that if I did not receive the $10.20 credit by March 4th I would go public with my experience. The store manager never acknowledged my letter, which a UPS tracking document shows was received on Feb 24,2022. Not only did JCPenney fail to process a basic return-and-refund transaction correctly it couldn't be bothered to even communicate with a customer.
Original order was lost in shipment to store. Replacement shipment was delivered somewhere else. Now I cannot find anyone to cancel the charges for the third replacement. Total incompetence.
