Overall, JCP is the best shopping site anyone can visit. They have quality items and a great value. I have been shopping at their brick and mortor stores for a long time, now my online experience is wonderful. Nothing makes me more happy than to browse their website (my go to place for fashion, beauty, home and gifts). Everything I need is just a click away. There is no question, if I order something from JCP it will be a quality item. I have never been disappointed. My favorite brands women's clothing LIz Claiborn and A.N.A. I have only had to return someting once, it was simple as it could be. Customer service talk to people in a respectful manner and are willing to help explain returns etc. JCP is a no stress place to shop. Thank you JCP and keep up the great job!

I will start by saying that I have made many JCPenney purchases. Within the past 3-4 months, my experiences have been spiraling to a fast decline. I online ordered a pair of shoes. I received a box with the correct size, but the shoes inside were of a different size. In order to process a return - I would have to pay $8 to return them by mail, or drive 1.5 hours to return it back to the store. Why should I have to pay for their fault? Most recently, JCPenney had a promotion called the Gold Coupon Giveaway that went on August 1st-4th, 2024. I revealed 50% off coupon code. I ordered 11 items. 10 days after ordering, I check on the status online. 2 of the items says "Cancelled." The other 9 items say "Backordered." I called customer service - as they apparently do not have a chat feature - to inquire why I didn't receive an email/notification of the cancelled items, why I haven't received a refund, how I somehow picked out 11 items that are all basically not available for purchase, and when they anticipate the backordered items would be back in supply. I got put on hold for the CSR to inquire about the refund, he told me, "It looks like they forgot to push the refund through." I asked why I hadn't been notified of the items status update, he told me, "We don't do that." How is it possible that I picked 11 items that are all not available? He said, "We are overwhelmed by the orders that we received during that promotion, and our suppliers is out of 80% of the items ordered." Should I expect to eventually get the 9 items that are on backorder? He said, "Likely they will be cancelled." Great! For those that utilized a coupon, and their entire order gets cancelled - do they get an extension/exception to utilize the coupon? He said, "Nope. We are cancelling orders that had the 50% coupon used." It has been 3 weeks since I ordered - all items have been cancelled now - no refund still to date, no email communication. Be wary. Their marketing and customer service practices are less than couthful. I am picturing law firms putting out an abundancy of commercials for compensation, in the near future - for mal-retail services rendered by JCPenney.

I like the company for the most part; have found some nice clothes for not much money, but I was disappointed to learn that if you buy clothes online, you won't be refunded your shipping costs. How is that good business? Anyone who buys clothes will likely need to make a return since we have to try them on to know whether or not they'll fit! The shipping was almost as much as the pants (which were on sale.) Thanks fer nothin'.

They give you a delivery day, that basically never happens! Called about order, got an employee, that didn't want to be bothered, so she explained that even if product arrives, it can still take up to 45 days to get notice for pick up! What a joke! Needless to say, I'm gonna let them keep the product! Horrible

I had to call to make an order. A small order of less than 100 dollars. Told them to deliver it to my UPS Box. NOT A P.O. BOX. They refused. Then I told them to deliver to my current physical address. I live in a hotel. Again they refused. I would have to have them deliver to a JCP store (of they would do that) 20 MILES from here to pick it up. Not worth it!

Products used:
None. They refused to send my order to my box at the UPS Store. Claimed that UPS was a freight forwarder and they do not deliver to freight forwarder.

Customer service is the last priority for JCPenney's. Horrible experience in there portrait studio that bears their name. They tried to pass the buck saying the rent out the space. Corporate is unless can't even handle an angry customers. They don't care if they lose business after 14 years!

So I ordered a pair of jeans from the website, because the nearest JC Penney is more than 30 miles from me. When I received the jeans, the marked size was correct, but the jeans seemed at least 3 sizes too small. I called customer service to return the jeans, and learned it will now cost $8.00 to return them. For this reason, I will not be shopping at JC Penney in the future. If a place wants to keep your business, they don't sell products that are not any where near true to size, and they don't charge you to return an item you cannot use. Amazon never charges for returns.

Tip for consumers:
That JC Penney charges $8.00 to return an item. It's bad enough the size is misrepresented and not a true size, but to charge a person to return merchandise is ridiculous.

I made an online purchase and had to return - 4 weeks later no refund - called their customer service, the rep says this happens a lot. They don't provide tracking info with their return label. Turns out JC Penney has a Better Business Bureau rating of F! Nearly 100 negative reviews and 3 positive. I had no idea they were so shady and I won't do business with them again.

I saw a notice about you possibly going out of business, and this really saddens me. Jc penny's has always been my go to store. This is just my opinion, but I am an older lady 50, and the store as far as clothing now is geared more towards younger shoppers, and Penny's is just not a store where the younger crowd shops. Why someone has not figured this out and gotten nicer newer things for middle aged and older crowds, I don't get it. There is no longer any type of customer service, Years ago we could come in your store and get women to help us put and ensemble together for an event, if we needed help. Now we have no customer service, we stand in long lines with untrained rude people at the register. I would really love to see you all turn this around. I'm ok with shopping online from time to time but I still love coming in the store to shop. I wish you all luck! Saddened in Tacoma, WA.

I ordered several shirts the order took a week to ship and then I got an email stating it had arrived. However, they shipped it to my old address. I called the 800 number and after waiting for almost an hour for someone to answer I was ultimately told that there was nothing they could do except to reorder and charge me again. I have now been charged for an order that I've never received I am most certainly not going to order again and pay a second time and hope it arrives to the right address. Allen in Texas

I placed an order on cyber Monday, according to the add, one of the best deals, a set of King mattresses. It has been a month and I have not received my order, calling customer service is practically spend hours on the phone to get an automatic system telling me that my mattress order is coming via UPS. No delivery updates, no customer service answer, other that the same recorded information. But the best part, they already charge my card and I am close to make the first payment. This is a joke, very disrespectful and a fraud. Be careful when you see those fake adds and savings.

Horrible experience!
I just received this today. It was wobbly so I opened and to my surprise found a piece of tape "holding" a completely broken piece together. Then to make matters worse the gentleman I spoke with Abraham and he literally said my bad. Now I have to ship it back, wait for them to receive the item back, wait 7-10 more days for a refund and another 7+ days to get a new item. All I get for that is "my bad". The costumer service as horrible and they offered me no helpful solution to exchanging this item. The outside of the suitcase is fine, although it doesn't roll, stand up, etc due to be broken. I can't believe this product was even sent out.

Don’t buy anything you might have to return.

When your hair salon is empty, your store has few employees to help you and even fewer cash registers, you know that they are in trouble and won't be around long. Quality of products has also declined over the past few years.

I places an order online for almost $300.20 minutes later I called back because I realized I needed the items before they were to arrive. The rep told me that she only has a 10 minute window to change an order, I just placed it 20 min ago! So here I am, paying almost $300 and offering to pay extra for expedited shipping and they say no, you are 10 min too late!? It takes 10 minutes just to find the customer service number, call them, and talk to a live person! Poor poor service if you ask me...

I have ordered items from jcp for years now, but recently they decided to use laser ship (These people are the most incompetent delivery company going) Personal they should be shut down. I hope tomorrow my package will actually show up being this is the second time ordering it. What happened to ups (The best by the way).I know my packages will show up. So to you jcp 86 laser ship and stick to what works because I will not continue to order from you. This goes for all the retail stores who choose to use these incompetent asses!

Due to their outdated technology they sent our order (over $300) to the wrong address and failed to remedy the matter and continued to charge us for the items that we never received. We haven't ordered from them in over 10 years because of the poor quality. Yet my wife tried to take advantage of a sale for our travels. And they computer sent it to an old address that we haven't live at since college so even though she put in our new address. Customer service was terrible. We spoke to multiple people and even called ups. No one did anything.

Went to the store, tried on a $70 watch, read the instruction book and went home. Decided to order online for curbside pickup, added the $18 extended warranty...now nearly up to $100. Went to pick it up...no receipt, no warranty pamphlet and there had been 2 watches at the store. Got home, NO INSTRUCTION BOOK for this multifunction watch. It's 102° outside so mot going back today. Will return tomorrow and speak to the manager who probably doesn't care and go get a $10 watch at Walmart. Pathetic jcp.

Bianca was our salesperson on our purchase of two Sterns & Foster mattress sets.

She had the product knowledge and very helpful in insuring we were get the best product for our needs. She was not in any hurry to make a sale but had our best interest at heart.

I have been to all the so called mattress stores here in Naples, Fl. But they could not compare with Bianca service and pricing.

If you want service and selection on bedding go to JCP in Naples, Fl and see Bianca.

Received a couple gifts for Christmas that I did not want to keep, tried to make a return without a receipt, and was informed that they no longer do this at all, even for store credit with a drivers license to track stealing. It was not a big fan of the store anyways, but certainly will never shop there again now.

I moved 4 months ago, before placing an online order, I verified my address was correct in the JC Penney system. They sent to wrong address and when I called they said that they could not help in any way. I have never received such poor customer service.

My husband and I have had a JCPenney card for many years now. We had a credit line of almost $2,000. We spend a lot of money at JCPenney just this year of 2017 we've already spent over $3,000. Come to find out they lowered are credit limit for no reason. They tried to say that our credit score was too low and that we had some delinquents which is exactly what we had when we applied for this credit card 3 + years ago. And got approved then. They wanted me to resubmit another application to have a credit increase which I think is absolutely ridiculous. Especially because my credit is the same as when I got approved. Especially because I spend thousands of dollars at this store. That's okay we will save money now because I cancelled our card due to the rude management and customer service I received. When somebody's paying their bills and spending thousands of dollars you don't just lower there credit line.

I order my bedding from Penney's. They have nice quality for a reasonable price. They have wonderful customer service and will accept returns without question, as long as you have your receipt and the products are in new condition. Penney's is a dependable store that has survived all the ups and downs of the U.S. economy. That's saying a lot.

I recently moved and updated my information with JC Penney online. However, an order I recently placed was being sent to my old address. Even though the order had not shipped yet, they refused to update the shipping address and told me that I still will have to pay for the merchandise, which is shipping to the state I use to live in. I spoke with several different agents, emailed and received no help, whatsoever. There are still items on the order that haven't shipped and they will not update the shipping information. Impossible to believe. The last gal I spoke to said, I see you updated your profile, but you did it after placing items in your cart, so it didn't carry over. How is that my fault. Don't buy anything from them.

I have never had such a bad online shopping experience. I ordered 4 pairs of sandals on sale and 5 days later they told me that two pairs were not available anymore and that my order was in transit and not moving at all and I would probably never get my order. So they had to reorder the ones that were actually available still even though they were on the website and gave me "express shipping", which actually was like 5 days later. Never again will I order from this company! They have really let their standards go.

Long story short, ordered an item on 12/04/17, JCP website stated it shipped and out for delivery by 12/13. Called on 12/14, the rude, inexperienced customer service dept (after hold times in excess of an hour) then informed me that the item hasn't even left for delivery. So it's now the 21st, item still just sitting in warehouse. I am unable to cancel this order and they are unable to give me any shipment information. Customer service stated "I am not sure what else you want me to do". Needless to say, I will not get this item by Christmas, which is what it was intended for, a Xmas gift. Also, needless to say, I will NEVER shop online or in store at JCP again.

Had a wonderful experience at your Alabaster Al. Store with Kellie your employee. My wife and I, 74 and 80, appreciated her hard work to arrive at the best discount price, despite my expecting an incorrect price, so I bought the sports coat at the price she worked out for us. We like old time service.

My elderly mom purchased my son a pair of Levi's for Christmas but chose the wrong size. I went to the store in Chino Hills, California to simply exchange the jeans for the correct size and was told that without a receipt an even exchange could not be made! The best they could do would be to give me a store credit for the lowest price which was $8.93. These jeans had the original tags and everything. What kind of store will not simply exchange the exact same jeans, just a slightly different size? The management should be criminally prosecuted because this equates to stealing. Happy holidays from the folks at JC Penney.
