Overall, JCP is the best shopping site anyone can visit. They have quality items and a great value. I have been shopping at their brick and mortor stores for a long time, now my online experience is wonderful. Nothing makes me more happy than to browse their website (my go to place for fashion, beauty, home and gifts). Everything I need is just a click away. There is no question, if I order something from JCP it will be a quality item. I have never been disappointed. My favorite brands women's clothing LIz Claiborn and A.N.A. I have only had to return someting once, it was simple as it could be. Customer service talk to people in a respectful manner and are willing to help explain returns etc. JCP is a no stress place to shop. Thank you JCP and keep up the great job!
I will start by saying that I have made many JCPenney purchases. Within the past 3-4 months, my experiences have been spiraling to a fast decline. I online ordered a pair of shoes. I received a box with the correct size, but the shoes inside were of a different size. In order to process a return - I would have to pay $8 to return them by mail, or drive 1.5 hours to return it back to the store. Why should I have to pay for their fault? Most recently, JCPenney had a promotion called the Gold Coupon Giveaway that went on August 1st-4th, 2024. I revealed 50% off coupon code. I ordered 11 items. 10 days after ordering, I check on the status online. 2 of the items says "Cancelled." The other 9 items say "Backordered." I called customer service - as they apparently do not have a chat feature - to inquire why I didn't receive an email/notification of the cancelled items, why I haven't received a refund, how I somehow picked out 11 items that are all basically not available for purchase, and when they anticipate the backordered items would be back in supply. I got put on hold for the CSR to inquire about the refund, he told me, "It looks like they forgot to push the refund through." I asked why I hadn't been notified of the items status update, he told me, "We don't do that." How is it possible that I picked 11 items that are all not available? He said, "We are overwhelmed by the orders that we received during that promotion, and our suppliers is out of 80% of the items ordered." Should I expect to eventually get the 9 items that are on backorder? He said, "Likely they will be cancelled." Great! For those that utilized a coupon, and their entire order gets cancelled - do they get an extension/exception to utilize the coupon? He said, "Nope. We are cancelling orders that had the 50% coupon used." It has been 3 weeks since I ordered - all items have been cancelled now - no refund still to date, no email communication. Be wary. Their marketing and customer service practices are less than couthful. I am picturing law firms putting out an abundancy of commercials for compensation, in the near future - for mal-retail services rendered by JCPenney.
I placed a order today and as I clicked "place order" I realized I made a mistake. I called the Minnesota call center *******189 Like it states on the website) and asked to speak to a manager to cancel my order. She told me if I take more than 4 seconds between placing a order and trying to cancel it there's no way to cancel it. How is that humanly possible? I asked to speak to another manager and they left me on hold for 15 minutes. Finally when that manager came on she said the same thing. I then used the chat service and told the rep what the manager said and all she said was she was wrong that if its not done in 5 minutes or less they cant cancel it. Yet it shows its still in processing on a Sunday. I doubt the information stated by either rep was correct. I am paying off my credit card and will NEVER use Jcpenny for anything EVER again.
I went to Dover Mall. JCPenney and I was returning an item for my mother and had little information to return it But. Keshawn waited on me and he was so very helpful and he knew right how to help me. So with there were more people like him. Thanks Keshawn
I bought two sweaters, on line, I usually wear XL and according to the on line " what is my size" XL would fit me. I received items, they were enormous! I made a return and made a separate order and ordered Large. They took out $16.95, saying because they didn't make the mistake. I understand taking $8.00 for me to drop off at UPS, but not a reason to take $8.95? What a ripoff., and they couldn't give me a better answer.
Tip for consumers:
That you better order the correct size, because if you return items, they will keep $16.95, not just the $8.00 for UPS. Deception!!!!

I wish I could give a -5 star rating. I purchased a pair of Ashely bar stool from JCP. I realized later that the chairs were lacking wooden support on the seat. They are super uncomfortable and make my thigh hurt. They sent me defective items. I called to JCP customer service and they denied to adjust or return of the order simply because it's past 90 days. The customer service manger was rude and simply denied to make any correction on the mistake they committed. Can a seller like JCP sell any garbage to customers and rob customers' hard-earned money? Can a seller like JCP back off from their responsibility of consumer satisfaction? I am not surprised JCP is doing super poorly and vanishing from the market. I am super disappointed and will never return to JCP in my life again, will tell to do so to my family and friends. Adios JCP!
Ordered towels for a mother's day present, was shorted, called in and was promised they would be over nighted to me so i would have them before mother's day. Get a notice will be here on Monday, day after mother's day. Called and spoke to 4 different supervisors and did not get this resolved and was finally given a pitiful $5 credit. What a joke! Apparently you cannot trust this company to do what they say they will do, customer service is non existent with JC Penny. They should have refunded the whole amount of the 2 towels they shorted me and said keep them for your trouble. This would not be a big issue, most people would have just went to the store and got them there, but i am disabled as i told them and cannot get to the store. So this was and is a BIG stressor for me. What happened to keeping your customers happy and doing the right thing?
Ordered a dishwasher; they use 3rd party to deliver, and then their delivery company uses 3rd party to deliver. Everything was messed up! Just trying to cancel the order took over an hour of my time because of all the 3rd parties involved.
Purchased sofa and within one year lost resilience. Initiated claim through Uniters (their warranty service provider) and denied under "Normal use." Fabric started pilling, initiated another claim, and denied again -this time without inspection.
I ordered several items from JC Penney's on 12/15/22. All items were to arrive before Christmas. I received notifications that my order was shipped. I looked at my emails again and again they were suppose to have been shipped. I called JC Penney.com and asked what was going on with my order because it states that it has been shipped. The lady looked it up and told me that my order had been lost. I was like how and what exactly happened. She couldn't tell me. I told her to cancel the entire order. Now I have no gifts for a few people and I'm very disappointed with Penny's!
Great business but not always! They need to stop store cards. It is at least a threat and unfair! I get harrassed by employees there about using the cards. It will help the store and customers to stop! Almost all things i buy there are not worth keeping for long enough. Some are. Been around a long time but maybe not always in my area. I do hope they solve their financial problems when they come up and they need to be honest when they do! I try not to use their website. Not worth it for me! There often was and is talk about how the business was and is owned by a member (maybe family) of the LDS church. The business maybe wasn't always owned by them. I feel they did not live up to LDS standards but maybe that wasn't always true
Before the Corona Virus I ordered a few dresses for my girls. The one dress we needed was missing from the package. I called right away (Friday) and they said that I needed to call after 24 hours from delivery of package, That they would put in a claim. Then I called on Monday and they said a check was being mailed since I paid with Pay Pal. I called 2 weeks later March 17 saying I never received a check and then they opened a claim. They said someone would contact me... the store is closed and I have no answers. I have never dealt with such a mismanaged unprofessional store. The deals look good but I will never order from them again! BTW the dress was 43.00 and I have another dress to return. WATCH OUT! NOT WORTH ANY SAVINGS!
I ordered items they said on the way with email conformation then a few days later cancelled my order. Their prices flucuate every other day so watch or call price adjustment they honor that.it takes a long while for customer service to resolve issues. I am cancelling my card telling my friend not to shop there and I am going to shop with their competitor Kirkland to finish decorating my whole house. Such a disappointment online they show limited items 2 left so order why tthis happened it should have restitution or given an extra discount for inconviences.
The past two orders from jcpenny never arrived despite saying delivered. We have cameras outside of our house so we know no one took them. Their customer service is so horrible! They say call back in two days and the say call back on another day! No other retailer gives me this much of a headache when ordering online! They use the excuse saying ups marked it as delieverd but did not deliver it. Why is it onlt jcpenny ups does that to?!? Paying off my credit card and ditching this unprofessional company!
They cant even replace a pin in a watch that was purchased from their store and you would think that a purchase would be in their computer. Dont buy jewlery from this store everything ive bought from them has been crap. Hurry up and close your doors cause your store sucks!
Asheville NC has the worst salon I have ever been to. All the stylist are second rate. The store is a shamble and the Sephora inside the store may as well not exist. The "Sephora" girls of JC Penny's in Asheville complian about waiting on customers. Not to mention they are suppose to assist with helping you learn makeup but they look like clowns with the way they have there faces made up. Each one was rude to me and I am greatly offended by the customer service. I contacted the store manager but he just kind of laughed about it. Without a doubt the worst store I have ever been in.
She was so helpful and pleasant I will be back because of her! Made my visit fantastic and easy! Gave me great service and went out of her way to help in anywat she could. I will make sure I find her to hlep me next time I get shoes at Jcpenney in yorktown mall in lombard illinois. Thank you again Laurie

Laurie in women's shoes is the best!!!
Ordered a lot of items from J C Penney online. Not only did I not get my items, they kept charging me over and over. Wasn't a good experience, and I will not shop their online store for any other sales
Poor customer service Ms. Hill in customer service and heavy set manager on duty have unprofessional customer service, they are uncaring to customers needs, I called before I arrived about a sit up pillow and when I arrived it wasn't there
I ordered from the first time recently, a couple of pillows and a new set of sheets. They were on sale, I had a coupon and it was free shipping. My order arrived fast and I couldn't be happier! I will be sure to order from them again.
Recently we got my daughters portriats done at jcpenny. They were great. I ordered portraits there at the store then decided I needed a few more so was able to use the codes they provided to get more ordered at the same price online. I saved money by adding 2 additional pages then if I would have bought the 4 I wanted as extra.
The customer service was exceptional during our shoot. The photographer took the time to ensure we were happy with the different poses. She added extra props to make the event more special. The quality was great. I couldn't be happier.
So I went to the store and the price of Iron was $49.99 on sale. Unfortunately there was none available so placed an order online. When I checked my receipt saw that they charged me $59.99. When I talked to the manager she told me the price in store and online is different. First store I found which told me like that. I told them I want to cancel the order. They said they can't do it I have to do it online. So I come back home and talked to customer service. So they said they can't help me as the order has to be canceled within 30 minutes. I have been with them for more than 15 years and that's how I got treated. Very unhappy about this whole experience.
JC Penny's Fairview Heights, IL is committing fraud by charging people for all products then leaving products they paid for out of their bag! Then when you call them about it they give you the run around and keep saying they reviewed the video and can see the item was left out on the counter and not put in the bag and will refund your debit card but then don't do so! They are doing this in store and online then using the money they are stealing as an interest free loan from the public to pay their expenses! Most are not getting their money back at all! I have talked to three employees two of which lied their heads off including their claimed titles as managers, which they are not! They are putting the phones on remote forward, so you never get a person to pickup! I filed a complaint with their corporate office and they are no different so I also contacted and filed complaints with the FTC and IL AG! All need to report them for their criminal activity! They need to be shut down and thrown in jail! They charged my debit card for all including the Paul Mitchel shampoo and conditioner gift set that was normally $22, but on sale for $12.99, which they then never gave me! They are making millions doing this as most won't fight for their money as I do! It is THEFT and FRAUD!

Ordered my husband 6 shirts for Xmas they got there money immediately I had to wait 3 weeks for my order to arrive. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong size shirt and instead of doing a straight swap I loose £26 off my original order and the shirts in the interim have increased in price their attatude is absolutely awful and they have no costumer service I would advise anyone to think twice before ordering anything from them!
I ordered a dress from JCPenney in the store on May 22 because they didn't have it in my size. I was told it would be delivered June 2 at the very latest, which was one week ago. I called on the 2nd after not hearing anything since I ordered it and it wasn't here yet and they had no idea when it would be. I still haven't heard anything from them, and I needed the dress last weekend, and they won't let me cancel the order.
I ordered some clothes for a bachelorette party and instead got a suit which was something I didn't order. So I sent the suit back and they told me I would get a full refund. For now them to tell me that I need to file a police report on a package that i did get but it was the wrong item that THEY had sent.

I purchased a pair of shoes from JC Penney online. I checked the return policy before doing so. They don't refund the shipping fee (about $8.00) and if you want to return the item they charge another $8.00. Ok so that's a bit steep but they make that known and so I have gone into an online purchase knowing what to expect.
The first pair of AirWalk blue shoes size 8.5 didn't fit so I returned them. That went smoothly. I ordered a second pair in a size 8. The item I recieved in the mail was no where close to what I ordered. So of course I had to return them since they were high top sneakers in a leopard print that would fit a child. Here's the problem though, it cost me a little over $16.00 because of THEIR mistake. I'm willing to pay those two shipping fees because I ordered the wrong size, but I shouldn't have to pay $16.00 FOR THEIR MISTAKE. So now I'm out $24.00 and I still don't have shoes.
I'll never order from JC Penney again. No wonder why they are in bankruptcy.
