Overall, JCP is the best shopping site anyone can visit. They have quality items and a great value. I have been shopping at their brick and mortor stores for a long time, now my online experience is wonderful. Nothing makes me more happy than to browse their website (my go to place for fashion, beauty, home and gifts). Everything I need is just a click away. There is no question, if I order something from JCP it will be a quality item. I have never been disappointed. My favorite brands women's clothing LIz Claiborn and A.N.A. I have only had to return someting once, it was simple as it could be. Customer service talk to people in a respectful manner and are willing to help explain returns etc. JCP is a no stress place to shop. Thank you JCP and keep up the great job!
I will start by saying that I have made many JCPenney purchases. Within the past 3-4 months, my experiences have been spiraling to a fast decline. I online ordered a pair of shoes. I received a box with the correct size, but the shoes inside were of a different size. In order to process a return - I would have to pay $8 to return them by mail, or drive 1.5 hours to return it back to the store. Why should I have to pay for their fault? Most recently, JCPenney had a promotion called the Gold Coupon Giveaway that went on August 1st-4th, 2024. I revealed 50% off coupon code. I ordered 11 items. 10 days after ordering, I check on the status online. 2 of the items says "Cancelled." The other 9 items say "Backordered." I called customer service - as they apparently do not have a chat feature - to inquire why I didn't receive an email/notification of the cancelled items, why I haven't received a refund, how I somehow picked out 11 items that are all basically not available for purchase, and when they anticipate the backordered items would be back in supply. I got put on hold for the CSR to inquire about the refund, he told me, "It looks like they forgot to push the refund through." I asked why I hadn't been notified of the items status update, he told me, "We don't do that." How is it possible that I picked 11 items that are all not available? He said, "We are overwhelmed by the orders that we received during that promotion, and our suppliers is out of 80% of the items ordered." Should I expect to eventually get the 9 items that are on backorder? He said, "Likely they will be cancelled." Great! For those that utilized a coupon, and their entire order gets cancelled - do they get an extension/exception to utilize the coupon? He said, "Nope. We are cancelling orders that had the 50% coupon used." It has been 3 weeks since I ordered - all items have been cancelled now - no refund still to date, no email communication. Be wary. Their marketing and customer service practices are less than couthful. I am picturing law firms putting out an abundancy of commercials for compensation, in the near future - for mal-retail services rendered by JCPenney.
I can get no customer service, the website says my order would cancel on March 1st it is the 14 th I can't get my refund. They expect me to drive over a hour to cancel it in person. Do not shop JCPenney especially the Prattville al location

Purchased a refrigerator from JC Penny with some hesitancy knowing I would have paid $100 dollars more at Best Buy or Home Depot. Very much regret it! They delivered with a major dent in the side which the delivery guys sure knew about but never mentioned it when they installed. I have been trying to get it replaced over the past two months. After 4 reschedules and miscellaneous excuses about why they could not deliver each time, they showed up on the fifth try. Of course the refrigerator they were going to replace was damaged even more than the original one. Why even show up?! So, now going on my sixth ridiculous try... Just buy from Best Buy or Home Depot and seriously do not waist your time. Good luck new CEO!
Got a credit card from jcp [penneys] everything was find until this year try using card online and nothing try resetting password nothing called customer service total waste of time and you wonder y there closing stores. Go figure by the way they cant say i don't pay on time because i have a 100% on time record. Paying my bills will take business elsewhere. Have since closed account.

Placed an order on 12/18 for home delivery. Order receipt stated delivery between 12/21 and 12/24. Follow up today (12/23) and UPS doesn't even have the order yet! Called customer service. He stated that since my order was placed on a Friday it wasn't processed until Monday. I asked if they worked processing orders the last weekend prior to Christmas and he said no. What retailer online or brick and mortar doesn't add staff and hours for the Christmas rush... He said they only work Monday through Friday - and my order will likely be delivered 12/28 - Swell - Thanks for nothing JC Penny. I will never shop online or in your store again. It's no wonder your business is floundering...
I had ordered a pair of vans online. I had no trouble ordering them until I received an email saying that they had to check the inventory. It did not say if they were out of stock, just "checking inventory" I received this email a total of 3 times. I decided that I would go to a separate store and just cancel my order. I called the customer service number and the woman was incredibly rude, she told me they were going to ship past the day they were to have been arrived at my house. They finally came days later and the box was torn to pieces, with a whole side missing, please for the love of god, save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere, really anywhere else.
I will never buy anything from this store.
And I invite you not to do it either they lie to their customers about their prices
I recently bought a makeup palette that they have for sale in their app and on the website for a price of $ 32 but when you make the payment they charge you $ 62. I call customer service so they can solve the problem. I was wasting my time. For an hour until they fixed. They made a new order with the established Sale price and then 2 days later they canceled my order because they said they had a pricing error in their system.
It is not fair for them to lie on price and cancel customer orders just because they have a bug in their system.
Ordered $140.00 worth of HomeGoods. Noticed the address was wrong. Called Customer Service and was told it was too soon to change it and that Tiffany would flag my order and fix it. She didn't so my stuff went to the wrong address. Now I'm told it's too late to do anything. Guess I'm out of $140.00 worth of stuff!

I had issues trying to figure out how to get my New Jcpenny card to work online and take advantage of the friends n family sales. It also stated additional savings up to $55 when i use my Jcpenny card. I called very next day to see if they could assist me in placing the order.first she said. Price changes daily and could not honor yesterday prices although i was frustrated in trying to order and secondly she say. There are no additional savings when you open a Jcpenny card. I told her i took hit on my credit report for Nothing you telling me? I also said the are advertising $20 off today when you use Jcpenny card or $15 off when you use any other card for payment. I have shopped at JCP for 50+ years. I went today looking for a simple black dress. All the dresses were priced at $89. I was floored. Better dresses used to be $69. Even with a 25% discount it was still expensive. I guess my JCP shopping days are over.
Ok, so been tracking my comforter set that I was emailed, waited at home the day it was to come, no luck. Didnt get it called ups they say we don't have it called penny's they say well we don't know where it is somewhere between California and Ohio if you don't get it in the next week we'll refund your debit card. I told the girl it's a gift so I'm upset about this got total silence no I'm sorry just rudeness, so I was going to order some more stuff but not now.
I can always get what I ordered to be exactly what is pictured and the right fit. Usually pretty good sales. Shipping time is super fast. Customer service is super friendly. Whenever I have had a problem, (once) It was rectified immediately and courteously.

I've become somewhat addicted to shopping at jcpenney.com. They stock a large number of tall and plus sizes which aren't always carried in stores, and most of their clothes are well-made. I especially love the St. John's Bay t-shirts! It's easy to bring returns to the stores (at least, with a receipt - haven't tried without). And finally, if you wait for sales, you get great deals, especially if you are getting their $10 rewards for shopping there. I just found out how wide their online selection is, and I've started shopping for my husband and daughter there, too.
I love JC Penneys online shopping. They have unique curtains for your home and some jazzy clothing. Always lots of coupons and discounts on the website plus they are fast with orders & returns are very easy. Love them.
Yes, I ordered 5 playtex bra's for myself once I received them I tried them on and the fit was very uncomfortable. I called ah requests o am return label, it was received in my email. I then package the five bra's up took them to the UPS store to send back to Penney's. On January 7,2022 in my email I was sent notification that one bra was received. I have been calling Penney's since the beginning of this month about the other four bra's and I'm constantly being told to wait four to six weeks. 2: problem is for me to return a pair of Christmas slippers that is too big I'm being charged $8.00 for the return label, the shoes were on clearance for $4.99. Please someone HELP!
Worst Customer service of whole world. Wasted my money is one thing, said wasted more than 15 hours on customer service for one order, which should have gone through without a singel minute call. They just don't care.
If you've read some of my prior reviews, I'm in my early 60's; so what I might like would be dreadful for younger women. I know, because I was young once. JCP is my Go-To store for my clothes. Their prices are very reasonable, and JCP has a wide selection of clothes for different age groups and sizes. I'm on a fixed income now, so getting inexpensive clothes, at a moderate price is essential for me now. I don't buy shoes there, because I can't find the kind of shoes at the quality level I like-shoes should last a long time, so I'll buy elsewhere. JCP has a decent return policy, too. I buy dresses, jeans, T-shirts, casual and dressy shirts/tops, underwear, and sleepwear there. What more can I say-I've gone overboard already! Thank you!

I bought a suit from Jc Penny's and it came in and it did not fit so I returned it and they received my return on November 28 2023 and I am writing this on January 20 2024 and still have not been refunded, and everytime I call I get a different story. Erin at the coustmer care advocate Team has been handing my case since the beginning and has done absolutely nothing about it she is incredibly incompetent and really bad at her job she should be fired
This review is only about the ship to store option, I have done curbside pickup before, as well as ship to my house and there has been no problem at all. Multiple weeks ago, I placed an order online, and it gave me to option to ship to my house, or ship to the store for free (no shipping charges). I chose to ship to the store, since I have a location nearby, and let's just say, I have no clue what's going on with my package or when it will arrive. There is no way to track it, it just says "in transit," yet it was originally. Said to arrive at the store by a certain date, which has passed. After they took the money out of my account, I haven't heard anything else. Be cautious when choosing this option, because if I had known it would be this complicated just to figure out where my items are, or when I will be receiving them, I would have just gone to the store myself or paid for shipping.

I have been wearing JC Penney underwear my entire life. Until lately, I have always loved it—briefs, t-shirts and Gold Toe socks. Other than dramatic increase in cost over the years, the quality has been generally consistent.
However, I recently bought 4 packs of white Gold Toe crew socks and for the first time was extremely disappointed. Since these are the socks I wear for everything day in and day out, I have to do this every few years. This time, even after several washings they feel rough and almost like cardboard going on, especially in the toe area. The material feels much thinner throughout than in the past. The shape of the sock is nearly that of a tube sock; there is very little heel.
I can't recommend these socks any longer, unfortunately. And know that JCP does not allow negative reviews to be posted to their site, either. I am reminded that this is the 2nd time I tried to post a negative review on a product and it was rejected.

You can get amazing deals from jcpennhs online when you combine sales and jcp credit coupons. Only downside is they sometimes will cancel your order. I have had several orders cancelled because I was able to get $300 cookware for $100 with sales and coupons
Ordered two boxes of expensive dishes, one of the dinner plates was broken, wanting to give me pennies for a credit or have me return the box to the store. First of all I ordered online to avoid the store and now you want me to fix your problem, closing this account, it should not be this hard!
