Last year I stayed at the Jewel Punta Cana which is under remodelation now; last week we booked a 5 days, 4 nights stay at the Palm Beach and, even when they had pretty bad reviews we took the chance. The hotel is small and clean; te sands are white but the beach was full of seaweeds, not a Hotel fault.
We booked their Club room and for a couple bucks extra we enjoyed of extra perks as 2 beach clubs, one for all the family and the other one for adults, in which you could drink very good brands like José Cuervo, vodka absolut and so on and enjoy ceviche and other type of fine foods, they also have dedicated check-in and check-out,.
The rooms are upgraded with free room service but one thing I didn't notice is just they said the minibar was upgraded but it was not and they had the air conditioner fix at 25 degrees and sometimes with the Caribbean heat it was not enough.
The food at the restaurants are superior compared with the buffet which is just okay and the servic varies depending on the people's mood but overall is okay. I loved the service of Fatima, which is the bartender at the family club place, she's amazing and even made a natural juice for my son as he didn't drink soda and Mirian in the kids club was also a star taking care of my son.
Overall I recommend the hotel as you'll pay maybe half of what other resorts in the area charge with similar comfort.
