Went to J&S Wolverhampton where we have been many times and spent a lot over the years. We have built up great rapport with the staff there, who have always gone above and beyond.
Unfortunately after a recent visit, I doubt we will go again. We had 2 helmets price matched but they needed to be ordered in. They arrived just before we went away and were told they would hold them for us until we returned.
When we went to collect the order, the price had changed, the Manager refused to honour the price match and was extremely sarcastic and rude. The deputy manager who had been serving me apologised for the Managers attitude.
It takes time to build relationships with customers and the Manager managed to ruin it and lose over £800 of business for the sake of a few pounds difference!
Tip for consumers:
Just be careful who you deal with if you do go!
Products used:
None. As I was appalled by the managers rude attitude.
Don't expect any deals from J&S full retail prices and no returns refund except gift voucher offered in this day and age you feel you are being ripped off by them they obviously don't care about customers returning to spend money with them even after parting with hundreds of pounds seems to be a case of take the money and run and sod the loyal customer
Will take my hard earned cash elsewhere you would be advised to do the same
Tip for consumers:
buy elsewhere

I drove there on Tuesday last week and found the assistance really unhelpful. Wanted some Knox gloves and AA rated jeans.
Had already found my size of gloves I wanted, by the time the assistant came over, and I needed help with getting the right size jeans. Out of all the racks of jeans, he asked my size and selected one pair of Frank Thomas which were too long in the leg and the armour was below the knees. He then said they're all the same so we don't have any.
I got the message he just couldn't be bothered, so walked out without anything.
I remember about 3 years ago needing bike leathers and going to sportsbikeshop. The first pair of leathers I tried on were similar, but the assistant got several different makes to try on and I did find some that fitted great, despite all allegedly being ' the same size'.
I don't recommend J&S Birmingham to anyone.

None - I walked out in disgust.
Won't be going back!
I bought a Drift XL which was great but the battery had problems charging, I emailed Drift and they suggested taking it back to J&S, although they were busy, Chris took time to listen and without any issues he has ordered a new camera to replace the faulty one. Can't praise him enough, lovely guy, very knowledgeable and happy to share it.
I went in to the shop today at bristol J&S and try on just 2 jackets and jeans which I couldn't find the right size for. I saw the price on both the jackets before I try them on. One was £108 and The other was £189. I'm very clear both jackets i try on were below £200. They were both on offers at the front. I like the alpinestars which is £189. However its not busy when I came out and pay for the jacket I want. The guy said its £229.99. And I know both jackets were on offers and I'm very sure both is below £200. I suspect that guy kept the offer tag while I was changing as it is very quiet. 'Not many people' i mean both jackets were like £108.99 some penny behind it but clearly not more than £200. Atlast I still happily paid for it anyways. It is not nice to treat new bikers by taking advantage of them. What is 30/40pound gonna do for you? $#*!.
Where do I start! Bought a second hand Ducati with 5600 miles on the clock. It broke down 3 times in 3 months! They fixed the bike through warranty which was good and the lady I delt with was very pleasant and professional to deal with. The first breakdown the bike needed a new clutch which failed on the way home from collecting the bike, the second time I picked up the bike and rode home only to find the rear indicators had failed by the time I got home, the 3rd failure was the rear eccentric hub, shocking with the bike having covered less than 450 miles in my possession, after the 3rd failure in 3 months I asked to speak to the sales manager! I told the sales manager I wasn't happy with the bike and he rudely replied you won't get my money back, once the bike had been repaired under warranty I asked to speak to the sales manager again, I said my trust in the bike had gone and I was willing to part exchange the bike back with j & s but there was nothing I really wanted? So I asked him what sort of money will I get back on it with a part exchange? He rudely replied check on Auto trader! I'm absolutely disgusted with the way I've been spoken too! Will never shop at J & S again the sales manager is extremely rude and arrogant!
I purchased a pair of Oxford waterproof trousers with a. 2 years guarantee from J & S at the motorcycle show for £56 didn't use them a great deal but when i did I found they weren't waterproof, thought it might be just a one off down pour, so give them another chance but they still weren't waterproof.
The nearest shop to me was about 1 1/4 round trip so I didn't return immediately so I returned them about 5 months after purchase by the it eight round to it.
The shop wouldn't give me a refund since they hadn't been returned within a 30 day period, and they were very unhelpful saying that they would send them back to Oxford and then contact me. However they also said they would only be able to replace them since they only had this type for the motorcycle show and didn't sell them and they only had them for the show. They also tried to say that I should take them back to the motorcycle show when it was on next (not well received). Their was also a suggestion that j & s in Bristol were not the same company as j & s at the motorcycle show.
I expressed my disappointment with their services and then spoke to the manager, who gave me the same line and when he said he would go and speak to the general manager on the phone I eventually got my money back
I wasn't impressed with their attempts to put me off, or the company ethics in general.

Tip for consumers:
My tip, be persistent.
I bought HJC helmet for 160, Alpinestar jacket for 160 and Alpinestar gloves for 60 and IXS shoes for 160. Jacket, gloves, helmet and shoes have been replaced 6 months ago and now the same thing happens again with the shoes and the gloves, unfortunatelly I didn't have the receipts and the guy tried to find me in the system but he couldn't, I told him "ok mate whatever I'll glue it myself" staff memmber became aggresive and said that it's not his duty to serve me and he's doing me a favour, after I showed him the shoes and the gloves he said it's a normal usage after not even a yea
Good quality for the price and excellent service. All arrived on time. Friendly people. Wasn't over charged.
