“Welcoming”

Ian M.

As it happened, I managed to solve the problem on my own, ie correct my stupid mistake, but I liked it when gethuman followed up and asked whether it was solved and how, so I could tell the world not to make the same mistake as me.

“Misleading and poor service”

I was led to believe I was paying £5 for an initial chat. Did not get a call back as scheduled and cancelled because I did not need them. Still no call back anyway 2 hours later just a text answering a question I did not even ask. Saw that then took £44 from my account. Now I see today another £50 because they signed me up for a membership without my knowledge or consent. No emails etc. Total rip off and judging by all the similar complaints is probably a scam as no respectable solicitor would work for this outfit. Trying to get refund but no response and difficult to sort out.

The costs clearly defined and info to say you are signing up for more than led to believe. Ie membership

I contacted them to assist with an issue I had with my cooker and they requested a credit card to charge me £1
However beware once you have given it you will be charged £30 per month as you have become a member. Please be sure you cancel your membership within 3 days even though you are not made aware that you have become a member. It's a pure ripoff

Advertise as Samsung Technical Help, which it is not.
Offer to resolve a simple query for £1.00. Do not highlight that there is also a monthly fee which appears on your card a couple of weeks later.
Plus they did not answer my question at all!

My fight for refund of funds, cleverly disguised with random dates, taken for months from current account after 'successfully turning off membership features' continues. Please don't rush at a crisis with these fraudsters they prey on the vulnerable. Much better you engage a real lawyer for honest advice before realising everything JustAnswer advise is actually a waste of time, money and mental health. They will charge you £5 but after few days they will take £50 for nothing (they have your bank details). My bank blocked their transaction as they suspected a fraud. Stay away very Fraudulent company not to be trusted. Also advise they gave me was to random to be from a professional lawyer.

It's not just me when I look into the reviews, many people have been ripped off by their membership fee. They say the fee is £5 for a question, but they don't make it clear that there will be a direct debit for the membership of £50/month after a week. Even if you don't login into the account, they will take money from your account. Stay well away

I had used Just answer for a problem. I was requested to pay £5 for this. When I paid it I discovered £28 was also taken for membership fee which is due monthly. When I raised it, the membership was cancelled from next time meaning I will not be getting it back. This is illegal certainly. Anyone gone through this and any action taken please

Tried to get advice a complicated German coffee maker. Paid £1 and some chap emailed me some help. It didn't work. Then had to pay £30. Asked the chap to phone me £15 but never heard from them again. Didn't realise I was now a 'member' and got £30 deducted from my card every month. It's a total scam...

Tip for consumers:
Don,t use it.

They tell you that you are signing up to a 3 day trial Membership, but if you do not cancel in time they automatically charge you £50 as they already have your card info, you cannot ask a question to a professional unless you give them your bank details. I have been charged £50 since February and it is now June and I have only just noticed as I have neglected checking my account as have had other stressful things going on. They are telling me I am not entitled to a full refund and very kindly given me £50 back, what a nerve they have the owner must be laughing himself all the way to his bank! I will never make this mistake again but I have paid heavily to learn this lesson

I would give you no stars. Your practices are disgusting as far as I'm concerned. You may not be illegal but you sail very close to the wind. Sham on you.You sent a pop up during a call to ee which I believed was part of ee and proceeded to take a total of 52.84 pounds from my account even though I gave you NO details of my account and didn't answer the question.

I posted a question and had to sign up for a 3 day trial for £5. My question was answered and was wrong in law. They took £50 from my account. I promptly closed the account but they have taken a further £50. I can find no details of them in UK otherwise I'd see them in court.

You pay £1 for an answer (in my case an incorrect one), but then get charged £30 each month until you notice the payments leaving your account. The email confirming the £1 payment does not mention the ongoing payments or need to cancel

They answered 1 question for a price of £5.00 and sent a link for payment by Paypal, no mention anywhere of a monthly fee of £50.00. It was only when I looked at the email from Paypal it said a monthly payment had been set up for £50.00 with no authorisation or discussion, luckily I cancelled it before the payment due date. Complete scammers. Do not touch this company.

The valuation is fine. What is not fine is that after you pay for the valuation they debit you with a membership fee. You need to read the small print. They would not give me a refund.

Will not use them again.

You pay an initial amount plus a 3 day free trial, you cancel but they still charge you on a monthly basis even if cancelled. Ensure you get a confirmation cancellation email otherwise they will keep taking the money. Not impressed as there is no notfication that there is a monthly fee

I paid £5 for an answer (which I think was automated) regarding my parking ticket. Even I would be able to come with the answer for that. I then noticed £50 pending charge on my credit card. Luckily I was able to cancel when I signed into the website and checked my membership which said 7 days free trial and after that £50 monthly membership! I cancelled the membership online which was easy to do, but that did not cancel the £50 already pending on my credit card. Apparently I have signed for 3 days free trial and the £50 monthly fee membership. I do not remember agreeing to anything like that and have not received any email confirmation of such subscription. Luckily I was able to cancel this as I argued that website says 7 days free membership ( it was 6 days), but the contact on the phone mentioned 3 days free membership only. I had a refund email immediately after that.
I cannot stop thinking that the company is trying to extract more money from unsuspected customers which are asking for help- obviously already in distress and unsuspecting the preying website.

Don't go near this mob.
A blatant rip off of your money.
I signed up for a $5.00 answer (which was pathetic) 12 months later I realised they were still taking $66.00 out of my bank account every month. Over this time I hadn't asked for any service (didn't even know I was a member) and they hadn't provided any service.
Most businesses give you a month free service and then if you like the company and what it provides you commit and join.
Just Answer charge a small fee of $5.00 for your initial consult, but once they have got your bank details they consider you a member and deduct $66.00 per month membership fee until you physically cancel your membership with them.
No correspondence within that period to advise you are considered a member and still paying.
When I questioned them they virtually laughed at me and said "You didn't read the fine print" and that their business and tactics were legal.
I tried to contact them again but they blocked me from their email.
I have sent several letters of my situation into the "Just answer" questions site and will keep pestering them on going.
My bank had to cancel my credit card and issue a new one.
I am a pensioner now and $800.00 is a lot of money to me.
My Recommendation to You. NO NO NO No!
They must be writing these positive responses in themselves because anyone with an ounce of brain would not.

You log on to ask a question, however unbeknown to you once you provide your direct debit card details, you've signed up to a membership fee! An initial £5 registration fee and £28 to ask your question PLUS thereafter £28pcm debited from your bank account ( silently), using your debit card details. No direct debit form. No signatures. By the time you realise and try and cancel your 'membership' you realise that the process using the just answer website is near on impossible!
