I recently had a procedure and I was originally so afraid. The nurses held my hand and assured me that everything would be fine. Before i knew it, it was over. So much after care support. I am very happy at Kaiser
I have had a detached retina and subsequent cataract rendering me legally blind in my eye. Surgery was needed. Kaiser put me in line and made me wait 3.5 months for "elective" eye surgery. One week before surgery, Kaiser cancelled my surgery and said I had to wait three additional months. When I asked why I don't go to the front of the line since I've already waited three months, the brainwashed doctor(s) said that is not how Kaiser works. That will make six months of no work and income for my family. Why doesn't the State see Kaiser has signed up too many people, taking their 15k a year, and will not provide services. Since Kaiser is self-policed by having internal investigations for wrongdoing, they circle the wagons and keep on victimizing patients. California, step up and stop these atrocities from occurring. Stop them from signing up any more companies or patients until they can perform in a humane way.
Kaiser sucks! They deserve a -10 star rating for their Covid response. I am vaccinated & boosted, none through Kaiser. Ridiculous wait times (weeks). I'm now sick & can't buy a Covid test. I called & was told I can only schedule it online. I just tried online & there is an eleven (yes, 11 days!) day wait for a test plus 2-3 days to get a result. This is what we pay BIG $$ to Kaiser for, what a joke! Kaiser would have to improve 10,000% to deserve a 1 star rating!
Kaiser decided seniors needed the crap Medline at home offers.Kaiser decided what otc products seniors use.Kaiser pretends the absurd prices for medline at home are real.$10 for 16 ounces of hydrogen peroxide?Kaiser must want more waste.Every order is shipped.Every item had it's own plastic bag.Kaiser decided all seniors want an extra soft toothbrush.I do not ever take cold medicines, use adult diapers or drink liquid meal replacements. The only way to make Kaiser change this crappy benefit is for everyone who hates it to write to Kaiser. You can write though the website, not the app.The ingredients and upc codes are not listed in description. Neither is it clearly listed where the product is made.Someone is making a lot of money on this.I wonder who. Also the free Dental benifit can only be used through Delta Dental. My dentist does not take Delta and I am not willing to change. Please look up reviews of Delta Dental by consumers and Dentists.
Better than no insurance I guess, and one extra star for Dr. Mandoza, who was really the only good thing about them. This is cattle call insurance, they do the minimum and their individual plans are pretty expensive. Wouldn't recommend.
Made an appointment with a gastro doctor for a second opinion months ago. They canceled the week before saying the only time available was the next day at 11:00am. No respect for your time. They don't care about the patient at all. I don't know how this institution is still up and running. I would give them ZERO star.
If you have the chance to find another insurance do it.
Northern CA, Santa Clara Kaiser is the most amazing place I've ever dealt with. I've had Cadillac care from them for the past year. They have spared no test, scan, surgery. But too bad obamocare is coming in to place. The wonderful benefit I've had for past year is going down hill, no fault to kaiser. Even they seem baffled and embarrassed by these upcoming changes and I will have to say 'goodbye' to my wonderful healthcare because my premiums are going up by 37%. Thanks Obamo. But seriously, Kaiser has been a wonderful, comprehensive plan with staff that is caring, visits to any doctor for whatever reason, short waits. Reasonable pharmacy. Too much good under one roof to say.
I have been to other emergency rooms with other health facilities and I know almost all (excluding Alexandria Hospital) have some kind of a wait issue, but absolutely nothing compared to what I am experiencing right now at the new Kaiser Caton Hill facility at Woodbridge. I was called to my son's school with a leg injury. We came to this facility at almost 10am, did x-rays and have been waiting since with my son in pain. It is almost 2pm and when you approach staff, they tell you we don't have a rooms. All those who came after us have been cared for and left. Customer service is non-existence. If I have a choice I will never ever be here wasting a whole day for an injured foot at the urgent care. I think it will serve Kaiser well to go learn from Alexandria Hospital how they take less than an hour on average to take in and out emergency patients. This is a huge disappointment and waste of time! As I am writing, we have not been called, still waiting!
Drs are not available for weeks(6weeks) I arm in pain after lab tech poked my vein. I experienced arm later fingers. Dr wu plays it off to coincidence. Didn't offer any relief. Only appt 30 days later to see specialist. Meanwhile I continue suffering with sometimes excruciating pain.
Tip for consumers:
Do not select Kaiser if you have a choice
Kaiser Permanente woodland Hills Ca, Bully Brian. Blames his poor quality work on his patients and makes them feel lucky and privileged for even seeing them. Arrogant, ignorant and disgusting. This low class man belittles Kaiser perennate patients and talk down at them. Dude all you have is a certificate. He's lucky I didn't file an a grievance against him. Thrive

I have the skin problems, itchy and joint pain on my wrists and knees. During five months, other regular paycheck workers or doctors only made referrals. But within one week, Dr. Niufar with his thorough treatment and duty of care of the excellent doctor who cleared all of the problems with kenalog injection and Prednisone medication. I hope that Kaiser keeps hiring miracle doctors like him who cam provide the healthy living to the patient who trusted the health system like Kaiser. Thanks for the treatment.
Doctors are useless. They'll just say you're imagining things, making up your systems, that all you need to do is talk to a therapist, or give you a prescription that makes you sick and then tell you they can't help you. Google can interpret your bloodwork results better. Apparently no one there can interpret MRI or Xray scans. The doctors are completely incompetent. Member Services is useless. The pharmacy is efficient, but what else would you expect from a pill-popping culture. This place is basically one step above a walk-in clinic.
I had surgery 5/2/2022 at the Manteca Medical Center and was provided excellent surgical care by Dr. Zhang, and S. Li. M. D. Anesthesiologist. I would also like to thank the entire team % Star Team in admitting, including Mary Jane, N., & in Recover Michelle R. Along with the many others that make up their teams and the surgical ops teams. Really FIVE STAR performances. Excellent work! Thank you!
Tip for consumers:
Prepare for excellent care!

Kaiser Permanente customer service is a train wreck like know other. There health services are the best however there customer service sucks. If you want good health service they are very good outside of that look else where.
20 yrs as Kaiser Pt due to its affordability. The care is lousy. The providers clock in and out. They don't try to figure anything out. If you have symptoms but nothing shows up in bloodwork or is clear on paper they give up. They have huge bias against anyone with mental health issues. They don't believe pain levels in these people are real. They don't assist with disability paper work. They violate HIPPA and under document symptoms. If you can afford to go elsewhere please do.
Great healthcare if you work the system - Basically, you have to always insist on seeing a real doctor and not a nurse or PA... and if you always say you have chest pain or abdominal pain, they usually give you a same day appointment, otherwise plan on waiting several weeks to be seen.
My nurse, yes I feel like she is my personal nurse Raj always takes time to complement me. She keeps me general tips about diet plans to lower my blood pressure. I always feel better after my check up because of her caring support
I saw the Dr 4/7/2022 for preliminary testing for cataract surgery; I was told that someone would call to schedule an appointment for the next step. No one has called. I have called the appointment desk 5/20; 6/22; 6/24; and 6/29. No one has contacted me yet. I even wrote a letter to the Dr. 5/29 because I did not know what else to do. I need new glasses, I cannot drive, I cannot get a new prescription because I need cataract surgery on both eyes before anyone will even attempt to prescribe new lens but I cannot get anything done because no one will schedule the next step needed to continue on to actual cataract surgery. As a last resort I will need to seek another medical provider who will provide me with the necessary medical services.
Kaiser insuranse is not worth it at all. Visiting Dr. Is the hardest part. You should wait to see any Dr. At least for 1.5 to 2 months. Also it does not cover all Dr. Even when their doctor order to visit the other doctor, kaiser insurance says we are not cover that. Their services is 0. Unfortunately because my company only offer kaiser i do not have option to go with other insurance. If you want to waste your time and money, you can go with kaiser.
I used to have Kaiser back in 2015-2019.
And they were ok and reasonable but when i went back with them in 2022, they changed 180 degrees. Everything is a nightmare from making appointments, their availability, the doctors, labs, imagings, etc.
I switched back to a regular insurance.
The amount of care you get is based on their bonuses. Every time I ask for Taz every time it appears I need to test my cardiologist says doesn't sound like cardiac-related any simply back to my primary care doctor. Had a stent over a year ago won't give me a stress test now to see what's going on. I'm having pains in my upper chest says not heart-related go see your doctor first come and see me in 40 days that's the first available appointment. I'm not happy I changed cardiologist today hopefully the next guy will be better told I cannot change from Kaiser to Sharp Healthcare until October 15th. Again I'm not happy at all not happy at all not happy at all. Beware Kaiser will give you the minimum care if somebody wants you to sign up with Kaiser run.
I have had numbness and tingling going down my arm since May, 2018. I have been to my doctor several times with no relief. I have also been to the ER, a chiropractor, massage therapist, acupuncturist, with no relief. Kaiser will not approve an MRI in order to find out what the problem is. I have had an MRI scheduled 2 times to have them canceled the day before I am scheduled to go. I pay for this insurance, I should not have to be in constant pain because someone in an office who has never met me decides I don't need a procedure done. Sometimes the pain is so debilitating I have thought about cutting off my fingers! I will definitely change insurance companies during open enrollment!
Good doctors... terrible Administration
I can not belive how much red tape they put into getting something done. It is shocking.
Plus they are not customer service friendly at all. They seem to forget they are a service provider,
Wish I could give 0 stars but that's not an option. After signing up for Kaiser a little over a year ago my experience has been absolutely miserable. Trying to actually use Kaiser services is more traumatizing than the sickness or ailment itself - you have to jump through hoops for EVERYTHING and end up facing a staff full of attitude because they're overworked amongst all the chaos and disorganization. If you're ever faced with signing up for Kaiser, RUN! January can't come soon enough to switch plans. Shame on you, Kaiser.
Southern California Kaiser physicians treat the elder patients like they do not matter. It appears the the physicians that they hire are from the bottom of the barrel. They must be the ones that just squeak by at graduation.
I had Kaiser years ago and was treated badly by a physician's assistant who kept cutting me off mid sentence. He was the most arrogant and patronizing person I'd ever encountered, and I was brought to tears by how angry I was! I chose to switch to a PPO but had to go back to save money. But I just had a run in with a phone appointment operator who talked down to me and gave me a guilt trip for taking too long to return their call so they had to "close out" the request and make a new one and she really seemed put out by that, even after I explained that I'm an overwhelmed teacher at the end of my school year. I really regret going back to them and plan to find other insurance as soon as I can. Their customer service SUCKS!
I get emails regularly about how to eat right, however the hospital feeds people all the things they should not eat. They get lots of chemicals and fake food. They should practice in the hospital what they send out in emails.
