We had a guest check out of our condo and not be able to use the lockbox as it was down and key Cafe did not know that it was down. I called as I had another guest checking in same day. They were unable to fix it right away so I had to get my cleaner to meet the guest, which cost me another $100. For her to go back downtown to meet the guest to give them the keys, thank you Key Cafe for crediting my account for $30 however it's still a minor amount considering the inconvenience to myself my guest and my Cleaner but thank you for getting it resolved. The customer service reps were excellent as it was not their fault at all but worked very hard at getting things back up and running and their communication with me was excellent
The first person I spoke with did not understand anything about the situation and handed it off into some waiting list for incorrect action just to get it off their plate asap. That was very disappointing and I had to follow up many times to find out nothing was being done for weeks. The last agents I finally got hold of was amazing, smart, polite, understood the issue thoroughly, and had everything wrapped up within a day. I hope this review does not reflect negatively on that agent.

Keycafe was started in 2013 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Co-founder Clayton Brown, an active Airbnb host at the time, came up with the idea after having several issues getting keys to his guests. After realizing there was no companies offering solutions he decided it was time to create one for himself. We started out with a manual solution, having location staff handle keys and put them in a lockbox under the counter. We evolved to create a fully automated smartbox solution to simplify the process and have a better solution. Keycafe now operates in over 50 cities worldwide with over 1000 public key exchange locations. Keycafe has handled over 3 million key exchanges making lives easier one access at a time.
