Kia Finance has been a nightmare. "customer service" hangs up after you've waited hours on hold, days in a row. When they finally answer and don't initially hang-up, they transfer your calls to 5 different departments then hang up again, but not before you answer the same questions you answered with the last 4 representatives and not before you give a run down of what you're calling about just like you did with the last 4 reps, only to be told they can't answer the question you didn'task.
They DO NOT listen to your needs, even after you repeat them 5 different ways. They refuse to actually hear what you're saying.
Their site won't allow me to make payments on my 2 Kias after I've been leasing & making payments online for 8-yrs. Instead of attempting to correct the issue they charge me $7 × 2 to make phone payments. Now I have to do it again this month bc their online payment feature is not working for me still. There is no person you can talk to that doesn't have a super thick accent that is very difficult to understand when the connection is always fuzzy due to what I assume is because they transferr their calls to another country. Fuzzy connection or thick accent, pick one, not both because both make accomplishing anything nearly impossible.
At one point they falsley claimed I didn't make my final payments on my first leased Kia's but the cars were traded in one month early so no there were no payments due on those cars. The false claim prevented me from buying a house that year, literally. No preapproval until the mark was removed from my credit. It took me a year to get it off credit with VERY little help from Kia Finance. A year of fighting. All that time and energy towards something that never was. No apology no compensation. Nothing but headaches.
Another time they charged me a dollar more per payment than agreed upon with the dealership but they did it at a time that was last minute and I couldn't do anything about it unless I wanted to be without a leased car until it got solved.
The last two payments I made over the phone I had extra fees listed...I had to pay $24 extra, per car, but no one could tell why but they could tell me that if I didn't make payment in full, mystery fees included, my accounts would be considered past due & reported.

I bought out my 2018 lease from Kia Finance in March 2021. I just received the title to the car yesterday. 4 months later, not to mention the 45+ hours I've spent with their ineffective Customer Service & Lease End departments - who don't talk to each other, do not have access to each other's customer files... and the Titles Department, who is inaccessible to customers or the other two departments. Wasted time, lots of stress, lack of communication. Don't use them! If you have problems, write a letter to Sukjoon Won, President of Hyundai Capital America (Kia Finance) in Fountain Valley, CA to complain. He needs to know how bad his department is. I finally got some advocacy from my local in-state (not California, Texas or Georgia) Kia representative, and it took him 2 of those 4 months to get responses from his own people at Kia Finance! HORRIBLE!
I tried to pay my car payment twice before my due date and they had problems with linking to my account. So I ended up having to pay an extra 7.95 for a fee because I tried twice to pay. So far I hate Kia financing there horrible I wouldn't recommend them for anything
Do not, I repeat DO NOT finance a vehicle through KIA Finance. Their customer service is the worst. It is impossible to get to the person who knows something, assuming there is such a person. You will be transferred from one area to the next and after an extended waiting period the call will be ended. My first mistake was cosigning for my grandson. My second mistake was financing with KIA finance. When he is late with a payment (often), the payment is taken from my account without permission even though I have never authorized auto pay. Their internal communication is apparently non-existent.
I use to rave about Kia to my friends and family, I even talked my mom into buying one. Well that all changed the past couple weeks. I had called Kia to ask how to pay out my lease, I was told to just go to my portal and pay the buy out total. I did and months went by i never got my title paperwork and I didn't think much of it because I wasn't planning on selling any time soon. Then my car got stolen over a month ago and my insurance wants to pay it out but won't till the car title is in my name. When i called Kia to find out why the title wasn't in my name, they said I needed Odometer paperwork from when the car was paid out. Now remind you this is like 10 months later. I explained my situation that car is gone and he put me on hold, then came back said I don't need it and I am set. I would get paperwork in 7-10 days. I waited and nothing showed up. I called back again and they said you need to turn in your odometer paperwork and explained to them what the guy told me from week earlier said I didn't need the form. So I filled out the form faxed it (because I just wasted a week). I said I would call back 20 min to confirm it was received, to which they responded with, oh you have to wait 3 days for them to see it in their system. I am like why can't you physically look at it to tell me. Oh that is in another department. I say can I have their nunber/email. Oh no we don't have that information. I am like how does a big company like this not have a phone number? It's starting to feel like a scam. It's been over a week and they still can't confirm my fax has been received. I don't care how busy they are, that should be an easy thing to do. I am wasting so much time just getting this process started. I recommend do not buy a Kia through their finance department or just avoid Kia/ Hyundai all together.
I am absolutely disgusted! For almost 2 years I have been trying to transfer my leased vehicle from NY to MA where I currently live. They NEVER sent me the freaken title so I can make the transfer! Every time I call it's the same BS! How this company is still in existence is beyond my comprehension!
After a miserable greeting by Jack at the start of the conversation with customer services, things got worse as he forced us to find the info we needed urgently on the website. I couldn't afford to lose him again and struggle to get through due to the urgency of the situation so I asked him to stay on the line in case we ran into problems with the website. This did not make him happy as he just wanted to end the call. We ran into so many problems trying to get the info we needed online and he was making it clear all the time that it was taking up his valuable time. In the end he decided to insult us down the phone and hung up on us! It's not often you come across retrograde customer service these days but its there at Kia Finance and its name is Jack. His remarks left 1 dealer, 1 very tech-savvy bod and one frustrated, very stressed customer, absolutely stunned.
I moved to New York from Arizona in mid May. I have tried for over two weeks and over 15 calls and many emails in a vain attempt to get KIA Finance to provide the necessary information and documents to the DMV in my new home New York. Despite NY DMV faxing state to state transfer forms to KIA finance (which KIA finance requested), no action was taken by KIA finance. Every time I call KIA finance, I get different instructions on what to do and/or Emails requesting information that I have previously provided (4 times now). When a ask the Kia representative to speak with a supervisor, the phone is disconnected. If I could give them a zero I would.
We return our car lease on time, meanwhile after a while they didn't send me any statement about the return, but suddenly they just send bill without any description for what. And they send it super late, and suddenly effect my credit score as late payment.
Meanwhile we finally send the check to them and they deduct right away from our bank but still they report that we have late payment on this month.
We call the customer service, someone name Chanda is also the horrible one. She actually laugh at us while explaining the things which is we still don't understand.
Our suggestion for you, don't lease or buy any car from this brand.
My account regarding this problem is under dispute right now and yet they still put the late payment report, if this won't settled I will seek a lawsuit.
I totally think they are taking advantage of my 20 year old son! When COVID started he lost his job and was paying what he could when he could for the first month or so, talking to them the entire time and letting them know what was going on. They repo 'd the car and we got all the money and got the car back. Jumped through every hoop they asked for, paid everything they asked for. A year later and they are still adding money on! They sent a letter stating he owed x amount from last years repo ( told it was pd in full) and on the phone when I asked the exact $$ amount she said well I see another $300! Asked for itemized bill and receipt of what we just paid, nothing was ever sent. Fully taking advantage of people and scamming. Our lawyer is now working on it. I will make sure I tell everyone how awful they are!
Bought a Kia Forte. I liked it. Paid it off in five years. Payments either early or on time. Never late. Made my last payment in the beginning of January 2021. Six months later am still begging for my lien release so I can sell my car. Made 8 calls. Each time I am told it was just sent out and I should have it in 7-10 days. That's been for three months. I would give them no stars but that's not an option.
My husband passed April 1 2021 and we paid Kia every month. I became crippled and can't drive. Trying to get a payoff form them for probate Superior Court. A bankruptcy was discharged March 2020 but they were paid. Now without if income and I need that info on their letterhead. Pro
Isdc info many times and faxed info in and lied to every time. Then to it would take 2 billing cycles. I need it within 90 days of death. Liars and thief. I'm done and they can pick it up if I can't get Superior Probate Court to demand the info. Being nice to your face and lie like hell.
I have been a cosigner for 3-year leased Kia car for my niece. It was paid on time and at the end of the lease, they want us to do the buyout. She couldn't do it because she moved from out of state. After 3 months they send us a bill of their revision to pay.
We arranged an automatic payment to finish it. They send us the first bill I pay it then they stop sending a bill due to the corona.
After 7 months received a call from them to pay the rest. I paid it in full right away but they went report the late payment to the credit bureau for my niece and for me too.
They were acting like they have this power on people.
I leased a car in 2017, purchased in oct 2020. My mom co-signed and I was listed as primary (owner) thru out my lease, 5 months before I purchased they changed the bills into my mom s name making her the primary (mom has passed away), after I paid the car off I sent in odometer reading and waited for title, the first one they sent to wrong address, when I finally received the duplicate title it is in my mom s name ONLY, they kicked me off as being the owner. All the paperwork I have they have half my mom as primary half me. I have been dealing with this since oct, 25 HOURS calling them and they refuse to correct, they admit that it is their fault but will do nothing to correct. I think the dealership scammed me, but what do they care they got their Commission. Something is wrong with this company
I never see this kind company. I paid off my kia sorento Feb. 17.2021. I do not have my title. I call every week but still l didn't get it.
Do not finance through them. Had a car the car was totaled. They were to send account summary over to my gap insurance to pay off balance. Everytime i called i was told 3 to five business days for gap to get summary. They told me that summary is being sent from total loss department but you cannot speak to them directly. And all they can do is send that department a email requesting that summary to be sent to my gap insurance. It has been 6 weeks and gap has still not recieved the summary so there is still a balance on my account because of them not doing what they are suppose to do. Very bad business on their part. Do not finance through them.
If I could give them minus 5 stars I would! They have HORRIBLE customer. They have been charging me $30 NSF fees since November. I have not paid my account via check since last year I always pay with a debit card. In addition to creating erroneous fees, they are posting inaccurate information on my credit report. When you pay your account whether its 3 days past due or 30 days past due, the payment does not accurately reflect on your account. I've had to dispute this on my credit file 3 times. They told me they would fix it and to date they have not. The thing that pisses me off more than anything is when I walked into the dealership to by my 2nd Kia vehicle, I had my own financing! The salesman convinced me to finance with them. NEVER FINANCE WITH THEM. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS! THEY HAVE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. PERIOD!
I just purchased my leased car deciding to keep my car at least until the warranty expired. Well there was a glitch on the payout. The payout stated I owed a certain amount with a specific expiration date. In the meantime the payout price increased. I called the lease department and they basically dismissed me saying there was no problem and the information was accurate. They told me I could speak with customer service and transferred me while I was asking another question. Very rude! The CS rep who was language impaired was unable to understand the problem. I reframed the problem 3x unsuccessfully. I asked to speak with someone else. I got at last an intelligent Customer service person who actually not only understood the problem rather quickly but took the reins in emailing the lease department with the discrepancy. I now find out that with all his wonderful efforts in fact the lease department has done nothing. If this were my1st problem in dealing with Kia I could understand... things happen. Kia has a real problem in dealing with customers. They have a *move the traffic along* mentality not one of keep the customer happy mentality. Every dealing from the onset has been a challenge. After my warranty has expired I will be shopping for other than a Kia. It is now June 5th 2021 and I still don't have my Title. I have submitted the odometer statement 9x via fax numbers they gave and 3 screen shots. Finally that went thru. I have now received the Bill of Sale form that I have filled out and sent 5x via different fax numbers given, done screen shots and sent certified mail. I don't know what else to do. Do these problems ever get solved? Do people ever stop being hassled by Kia? Do pp ever get their paid in full Title? Please…can anyone offer some advice.
UPDATE: It is July 5th and I still haven't received the Title to my car. Kia is the worst company I have ever dealt with in over 55 years. You have been warned. Don't buy Kia.
I bought a 2021 Kia Soul last November. I also purchased a Gap Policy through Kia when I bought my vehicle. The Soul was totaled in January. I had the vehicle less then 2 months when it was totaled. I have already purchased a new 2021 Kia Sportage. I greatly regret purchasing again through Kia Motor Finance. My Gap claim has still not been processed due to Kia Motor Finance not sending them the needed documents. I have called over eight times and still the paperwork has not been submitted. A representative from the Gap company even called today and Kia is still not addressing the problem. In the meantime I am still obligated to pay my payments in full on a totaled vehicle. Their customer service team is rude and not at all helpful. When I asked to speak with a supervisor they told me their was no supervisor for me to talk to and no one to help me! I have never had such poor customer service from a finance company. I defiantly do not recommend Kia to anyone. This is terrible because the Kia dealership we went to was amazing and my family has purchased 5 vehicles from them now in the last 3 years. Not anymore. We would have been lifetime customers.
Paid off auto loan in early Dec, 2020. This is mid-march and we are still awaiting the refund of a sizeable overpayment, despite numerous phone calls and promises. Keep being told it is "pending" - with no further explanation. Love the car and the dealer, but the finance company customer service is TERRIBLE, and we will never buy another KIA because of this.
I will never do business with kia again. Their customer service is by far the worst to deal with. They lie to you and will not work with you despite claiming that they would. Trust me, I don't do a lot of reviews but for those considering doing business with kia, beware! They won't care for you as a valued customer.
