Kia Finance has been a nightmare. "customer service" hangs up after you've waited hours on hold, days in a row. When they finally answer and don't initially hang-up, they transfer your calls to 5 different departments then hang up again, but not before you answer the same questions you answered with the last 4 representatives and not before you give a run down of what you're calling about just like you did with the last 4 reps, only to be told they can't answer the question you didn'task.
They DO NOT listen to your needs, even after you repeat them 5 different ways. They refuse to actually hear what you're saying.
Their site won't allow me to make payments on my 2 Kias after I've been leasing & making payments online for 8-yrs. Instead of attempting to correct the issue they charge me $7 × 2 to make phone payments. Now I have to do it again this month bc their online payment feature is not working for me still. There is no person you can talk to that doesn't have a super thick accent that is very difficult to understand when the connection is always fuzzy due to what I assume is because they transferr their calls to another country. Fuzzy connection or thick accent, pick one, not both because both make accomplishing anything nearly impossible.
At one point they falsley claimed I didn't make my final payments on my first leased Kia's but the cars were traded in one month early so no there were no payments due on those cars. The false claim prevented me from buying a house that year, literally. No preapproval until the mark was removed from my credit. It took me a year to get it off credit with VERY little help from Kia Finance. A year of fighting. All that time and energy towards something that never was. No apology no compensation. Nothing but headaches.
Another time they charged me a dollar more per payment than agreed upon with the dealership but they did it at a time that was last minute and I couldn't do anything about it unless I wanted to be without a leased car until it got solved.
The last two payments I made over the phone I had extra fees listed...I had to pay $24 extra, per car, but no one could tell why but they could tell me that if I didn't make payment in full, mystery fees included, my accounts would be considered past due & reported.

I pay my car payment weekly you cannot set auto pay up for doing so which would be very convenient.it does give a week to week breakdown of payment of intrest and principal and only takes 2 days for draw from bank.

“Trash company and trash customer service”

Artur K.
9/18/24

I would like to share my extremely disappointing experience with Kia Finance, a company that, in my opinion, provides the worst customer service imaginable. The employees are uncooperative and refuse to engage in meaningful communication. They pick and choose which questions to answer, often ignoring the most critical ones. Additionally, I encountered multiple instances where they attempted to provide false or misleading information, which made me feel deceived. Even during the contract signing process, they were already engaging in dishonest practices, misleading creditors and hiding important details. It's shocking how little they care about transparency or treating their customers fairly. Instead of offering help or clarity, they seem more interested in manipulating the situation to their advantage. I would not recommend Kia Finance to anyone seeking an honest and reliable financial partner.

I moved from MA to ME in August 2017. In January 2018 I got a bill from KMF for $224 for excise tax in MA. I faxed a letter and all the right documentation to prove that I now lived (and so did my car) in ME and not in MA. A year later, I get the same notice. I call, they claim they never received my property tax abatement request or documents. This time I mail all the documents to them registered mail through USPS. I few days later I get a confirmation from USPS that my package has been delivered. A year later in January 2020, I get the same notice. I call and customer service tells me to fax or mail the stuff again because they never received it. And when I ask for a number to reach KMF's property tax department they tell me (basically) there is no such number. This is ridiculous. I want a new Soul, but I cannot go through this again.

I leased a car in 2017, purchased in oct 2020. My mom co-signed and I was listed as primary (owner) thru out my lease, 5 months before I purchased they changed the bills into my mom s name making her the primary (mom has passed away), after I paid the car off I sent in odometer reading and waited for title, the first one they sent to wrong address, when I finally received the duplicate title it is in my mom s name ONLY, they kicked me off as being the owner. All the paperwork I have they have half my mom as primary half me. I have been dealing with this since oct, 25 HOURS calling them and they refuse to correct, they admit that it is their fault but will do nothing to correct. I think the dealership scammed me, but what do they care they got their Commission. Something is wrong with this company

I received a letter from Kia yesterday stating I have a late fee balance on my account starting 7/2018 of $447. I called to understand what is going on only to be told that the website amount due does not include all fees due. So me paying the amount due online I was not paying the full amount for a year and a half. WHAT KIND OF FRAUD IS THIS? Customer service was very rude, and unable to offer anything. They couldn't even see the letter that was sent to me. I am beyond pissed off, and feel this is fraudulent activity. Someone please start a class action lawsuit against Kia Finace please.

Due to Covid19 virus I was 2-3 times (beginning of the Covid)late with the payment until the financial situation normalized. They should make exceptions and be happy that I can still pay for the car, not то charge more fees. Many other companies make a discount due to the current situation. They should be thankful that still have customers who can pay, not make them angry. Nobody knew that such a situation would occur and therefore it was not included in the contract. Regular courtecy is- 1 time late fee wave, but due to the situation, they should do at least 3 times, as many others, but KIA - no! I am very disappointed. They lose 2 clients in my face and my husband! Advice to angry customers: Write to BBB!

I don't even like giving this company one star! I own a business that purchased three cars the same day and used Kia finance. Three years later the loan is paid off but I only received titles for two of the cars. When I called to inquiry, I was told they mailed the third title to an address I never heard of. An address that wasn't even on the sales agreement. No one at Kia would take responsibility for the incorrect address that was obviously put into their computer incorrectly on their part. I was told to call back in 30 days to see if the title was returned.

So, I call back in 30 days and talked to three levels of management, all progressively worse in their customer service attitudes! I was on the phone over 40 minutes and all I was told is I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE DUPLICATE TITLE! I am just amazed at this. It is obviously their fault but no acceptance of their error. I filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General yesterday and hope they can assist.

Stay away!

Most unprofessional and irresponsible customer service ever in my 20+ years experience. We cant communicate to Title department. Customer care team cant talk to Title Team. No team to escalate on Title department within Kia(Hyundai) even after they take 4 months to process a duplicate title. No one in the service department feel any shame that a customer had to follow up for everything. They need baby sitting and even after several follow ups (baby sitting) they cant finish any job. Most culture less and useless team ever. This unresponsive, irresponsible behavior from support team shows the attitude/vision of higher management especially related to customer focus on how they treat they clients and their time. Never ever go with Kia. If you want to still go with Kia, Hyundai cars then pay in cash or take loan from others and MAKE SURE you get your paper work for the amount you paid. They take your FULL money and don't have basic infrastructure to provide a title. What a shame to company and their upper management and CEO.

I just keep getting transferred to person to person

I enrolled into Auto Pay and canceled it due to a change of pay with my job. I tried to re-enroll and they suspended my account for 90 $#*!ing days.
SOOOOO the company THINKS it is smart for not letting people pay their online account. They rather have you pay via phone and CHARGE you an extra 10.00 for paying over the phone. This is a joke of a company, let alone a scam.

This is my 3rd kia 2nd kia soul. I have good credit and for some reason kia finance put my in at a 4.5 interest rate may seem low to some but when you work hard to maintain your good credit no loan should be over 3. Percent. Not only that they put me in at 75 months to make more money off my loan the dealer Bev Smith Kia of Ft. Pierce charged my 24,396 for a piece of crap 2020 kia soul... kia should have left the 2016 model alone. I had my 2016 refinanced 3 days after i purchased it which was 4.5 when i had it refinanced it dropped to 3.0 and gave me free gap kia charged me 800.00 in 3 days i cancelled the gap and they took 150.00 out of the 800.00. I can only hope to wreck this piece of crap car and get out of this piece of crap 2020 kia soul. I can see why kia finance has a 1 rating and Bev Smith kia of ft. Pierce has a 2 rating on yelp. Don't bother with either. Get a NISSAN

I will NEVER buy a Kia again! All because of kiafinance.com! It never works, Terrible! I try to pay on line and every month the site dosent work. When I call I get different answers, then charged a fee if I am late! I ended up useing a 3rd party payment site that has monthly costs. That seems to work! - NEVER KIA!

I read some of the reviews here after my current issue, and this story isn't typical of that...

I am not late for payments, nor am I in a financial bind. I have paid around 2k in excess of what I need to date and am looking into refinancing.

Then, when going through my payment history, I discovered that Kia Finance has helped itself to around $200 in excess to what they are owed towards interest payments from the payments I made (currently they are owed about 14% or 5 months of the loan term interest - they helped themselves to 39%!). I was told at the dealership (their finance manage is now taking my case in hand personally) that any payments in excess of what is owed is automatically put towards the principal (like any other loan). When I called the direct phone line to Kia Finance, and laid the math on them, the woman actually had the gall to hang up on me. This is really outrageous. Is Kia insane to allow these mobsters to put their official name on such a shady loan shark company?

Just purchased a brand new vehicle and financed through Kia to take advantage of the 0% interest rate. If I had known how awful they are, I would have financed elsewhere and gotten the discounts instead.

I set up auto-payments to pay 4 days before the due date each month. Got confirmation emails and it showed online. Great. The date to pay comes and I get and email they received my payment. Great. It clears my bank account. All seems well. The day after it's due I get an email I'm late. What!? Call and spend over an hour getting the run around, one person says it's late, another it's not and no one will give us anything in writing showing the account is current. Sat on hold for a supervisor and got hung up on. Called back and got someone else who claims they are fixing it but no one has the ability to give anything in writing. I can log into my account and verify it was corrected in a week and print that out. That is not the same thing and I don't trust anything they are saying now. Supposedly it was a glitch that impacted thousands of customers so you'd think they could communicate with those customers. Horrible, horrible, horrible!

This is honestly the worst company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with and I will never again purchase or lease a Kia. I was coming to the end of my lease term and I applied to get a new car through a different manufacturer, only to have my credit application declined! Eventually after much frustration and phone calls to the credit bureaus, I discovered that Kia Motors Finance had reported me as DEAD to the credit bureaus and there was an investigation pending! I cant even make this stuff up. You would think that before reporting something like this, you would try and call your customer to make sure of your facts or perhaps question who has been paying the monthly payments from the grave!

This took days to rectify and I had to prove my identity in order to have this removed. Customer service at Kia Finance admitted to their mistake and withdrew the inquiry after much effort and emails to customer service (which were also ignored). Even getting the credit bureaus to speak to me was difficult because according to them I was not who I said I was. I had to speak to three different people before someone told me that Kia Finance did this.
I asked Kia to credit my last lease payment on the vehicle as compensation for the effort I had to go through to correct their incompetence and of course no one ever got back to me. Despite emails following up.

If I could rate them as zero stars I would.

We paid off our car, and title sent to wrong address after we specifically told them to send to new address. Then we called to check on status, because we had not received title, we were told of the 'garaged address' needed to be changed. We informed them we were not aware of said nuance. We were then told that the tile would be retuned to them and they would mail to correct address. FALSE! Now, we are PAYING for duplicate title and our daughter is driving around on expired tags. Customer service, is RUDE, they LIE and will not budge to help. Poor customer service and we will NEVER be repeat customers.

Kia took my March payment and never applied to my balance it's now end of July still not resolved I have spoken to over 20 supervisors and reps no help at all they say the policy is an inbound call center and they don't call customers back to follow up or make sure issue resolved I was told system update in March that affected Kia customers accounts where the correct balance is not showing but no one is trying to resolved the issue this is the worst company I have ever done business with I will NEVER purchase a Kia or go through Kia finance or recommend Kia because the customer service is the worst I have also sent a letter to corporate my next step is to contact the news and a lawyer. Kia is taking customers money and not applying to balance because my balance on their website is not correct everything was fine until they had a system update in March that messed up all Kia customers accounts they need to take responsibility for this issue and get it resolved ASAP. I rate Kia a ZERO

I've been dealing with CONSTANT harassment with this company. I'm a 100% disabled veteran with PTSD. I love my dependable Kia Soul but, this harassment must stop. The uploaded pic is proof I pay my note on time. I'm not responsible for any delays with the US mail. I pay all my bills the same way each month. Kia Finance is the only company that does this to me. I pray they see this and please STOP HARASSING ME.

The customer service rep Daniel (id#*******) was so rude & disrespectful as I was trying to resolve my billing matter. He spoke to me as though I was a piece of sh*t for being behind on my payments even though I was calling him to schedule a payment to bring my account current. What HONEST, CUSTOMER APPRECIATING company does that?! This will be the last time I EVER deal with this company & I will NEVER refer them to anyone for anything. They are a joke for a finance company! Ive never had any issues with my Kia in fact I own 2, but after my experience today I'm a good mind to let them just repo the one that rep Daniel wanted to be so disrespectful to take my money on & just trade my other one in. Goes to show how one person can change a lot!

My experience with Kia Finance has been a total nightmare from the beginning. I was clearly taken advantage of when it came to purchasing my vehicle 5 years ago, but I take responsibility and trust me I've learned a priceless lesson. My interest rate was awesome, but my payments are ridiculous. I should be in a true top of the line luxury vehicle for what they have me paying. Because I desperately needed reliable transportation and my credit was less than perfect I was offered financing through Kia Finance and I've regretted it from my 1st payment. There customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They're cold extremely impersonal and matter of fact. When you have a problem they offer little to no support. They're totally Uncompromising. I'm disgusted, disappointed and frustrated. Thankfully my car is almost paid for! I can assure you I would never purchase another Kia from Hawkison Kia nor will I ever use Kia Financing. Please if at all possible go through your credit union, bank but steer clear. They don't know how to treat their customers nor do they value them.
