The send me emails before a case ships with an invitation to click through and preview the wines they are sending. But when I click, they cannot find my account. Spoke to their customer service and traded emails with them several times but they cannot fix the problem. Finally they tell me that I'm in a special mystery club that doesn't allow previews. Then why are you sending me emails inviting me to preview the wines?!?!?!? Horror show.
I made one purchase on their website, I took a gift package. What I received was not as advertised and when they offered to give me free delivery (8 pounds) if I subscribed to an unlimited membership and saved my card details on their website, they said I could cancel at any time. That's obviously not true, it's literally impossible to cancel the subscription from your profile, I've sent an email and if they give me any more headaches for the 8 pounds that I "saved", I will report their business to authorities. Good thing I used a card that will expire soon before they steal from me.
I ordered a good value start off dozen but was unaware that the fine print meant I was going to be debited direct from my account 8 weeks later for another case (over $200) without confirmation. Have had major difficulties getting a refund.
I received a shipment of wines without getting a email,which was requested, refused the shipment at the door as instructed and haven't received the credit back on my card! They say 3-5 business days, its been more and their customer service is horrendous. It's offshore and they won't transfer to the states! Those agents ask for all types of information but can't resolve squat! Called three or four times with a bevy of incompetence. Cancelled my sub and waiting for my credit. THANK YOU DENNIS
I've been dealing with this crowd for a couple of years, and they were ok at the beginning, but I have finally had enough. I made a one-off order of a case of wine from them before Christmas for office party giving them my cc details etc and all went well product delivered and so on. On 11 January I noticed a strange transaction on my cc account Laithwaites debited 200plus dollars for wine I never ordered nor didn't want. They had done this previously also and I complained to them then but they don't care. So be warned!

This is a very ugly organization to deal with. They have a complexity of layers and obfuscation to hide and divert reasonable accountability. They have No credibility.
And I really could not suffer the wine; some of which was at the 7-11 gas station wine quality level.

I've been a member of the Laithwaites wine club for a long time and generally enjoy the wines and wine selections. I recently had a problem receiving 2 wine glasses which were part of a special offer. I contacted customer service and they totally let me down. Firstly, I couldn't understand the 1st person I talked to, so I had to call back. Then they wanted me go to a website on which I had already been told to call customer service. They finally said I would be contacted within 24 hours; and that was 5 days ago. I'm very disappointed!
Laithwaites refused to cancel order a year later I see a deduction for a case of wine i didn't order deducted from my card I tried to ring day 1 hour they hung up day 2 hour and half finally got through told the little $#*! my problem. He finally said he would cancel case and send me a re fund an email would follow. No email went on line to chat to busy server was down last week. Today the case arrived I talked to the driver he said that was 2 today that hadn't ordered the case it was a common complaint from this mob. I am a pensioner doing it tough this mob really don't give a $#*! about us beware
Beware of Mastercard Fraud on this site. I am French, I live in France and I have never heard of this site, until I discovered that this morning that this site took 500€ from my professional mastercard? A complaint has been filed with my bank for fraudulent transactions. I wonder how this is possible?

2nd. Quarterly case ordered 11/29/2023...has not arrived.
Its time to CANCEL!
This is the second time I have had my ASB visa card listed as pending for a wine delivery I did not order and don't want.As a company they are hopeless to deal with in order to get a satisfactory resolution to my problem.
I strongly advise people to never deal with Laithwaites wine as they are just hopelessly inefficient and in competent.

Like so many other reviews Laithwaites scammed me last year by sending me a case of wine I didn't order. So I cancelled my account.
BUT they illegally retained my credit card details and last week debited my accouunt $39.99. Nothing I ordered, nothing delivered, just plain theft.

I placed an order a month ago, and I was excited to see that my wine will be shipping shortly and it would be there on 5 July. Although I received a notification saying that there was an attempt to deliver on 5 July, soon FedEx was disavowing any knowledge of the package and that was the last tracking on the package. Repeated attempts to contact customer service at Laithewaires have left me frustrated and aggravated. Twice I've called and I've been told someone will get back to me in just a few minutes— and they have not. I want my wine, or I want a refund. Either way, I canceled my membership.
The first batch of wines delivered were disappointing beyond belief. Tasted tart and cheap. Gave me stomach problems. Awful customer service. Don't believe the money back guarantee promise. It's a lie.
I started with Laithwaites just before Xmas 2020. Father in law's been using them for years. Love 90%+ of the wines I've tried but they're not for novices.
Had a poor champagne bought for wife's Xmas and called to mention it was tasteless. Money was refunded without question so I have to say I've had excellent service with them so far and f-i-l has always been pleased.
I have been a LW wine club member for several years and have developed a stable of good value wines with some outstanding selections and good sales. However I have always had some difficult to navigate aspects of ordering, clubs and especially delivery issues that are at least frustrating and worsening. Forget about customer service, the service is offshore, hard to speak with and unresponsive, functioning as an answering service that rarely connects you to anyone that can resolve your issues. Their quality of their introductory offers far exceeds the wines included in the quarterly club issues. Most recently I have written 4 emails and placed a call to get the proper state sales tax calculated and corrected on 2 orders, no response in three days. They had wine shipped this weekend in WI in the face of sub-zero temperatures, it is sitting in a trailer outside three hours away for three days, so far. Their website and record keeping are cumbersome, I still receive emails titled with a wine club that I quit 2-3 years ago and that no longer exists. There seems to be a loss of direction and focus on service during the transition of leadership from the founder to his three sons. I am awaiting contact from a company representative following the multiple emails and call to customer service, I am very close to quitting altogether, leading to their loss of a $1000+/year customer.
Been a customer of Laithwaites for many years, have absolutely nothing bad to say about them, we love trying new wines and have yet to find any to send back! Even though they say you can send one back if you don't like it!
Delivery has always been spot on, as have the wines, it's only fair to give an honest review, we will continue to use them! Thank you.

Ordered our wine 6 weeks ago and were told we would have it in 10 days. We have called the customer line and get lied to. If I contact the online person they cut me off. The tracking number Laithwaites gave me does not exist! DO NOT ORDER from them!

I have been using Laithwaites for the last year and found their service, quality and value for money to be excellent. I was honestly shocked to see how poor their rating was on this site. To be clear, I am not sponsored by or affiliated by Laithwaites in any way, but felt it necessary to put the record straight. From my perspective, they have been first class in all departments and I will continue to get my wine from them as my first choice.

I thought that partnering with National Geographic would be a match made in heaven. The wines were great and the note cards were like going on a mini vacation. Sadly, the story goes downhill fairly rapidly. Customer service is simply not helpful or responsive. I sent a very lengthy email on the plethora of problems I experienced entitled " why I have to break up with you". Customer service simple gave a form letter just wanting to confirm I was cancelling my membership. I hope that my letter gets to Tony Laithwaite, after all, his name is on the advertisements. I'm glad I never gave a credit card, but I had checks sent back telling me I already paid. Unfortunately, they still have a check somewhere in there possession but I can stop payment. It's too bad, like I said, the wine was good for my tastebuds, but the hassle was too much for my liking. I wish them good luck! I will continue to enjoy National Geographic!
