We live in a small town with no Happy Return sites available to us. Would have to drive at least 110 miles roundtrip to get to one. Therefore, I have to pay $6.95 to return anything (charged separately, if items were received in multiple shipments, even though I could ship them back together). So that's number one. On my most recent HAPPY return, I waited and waited and waited for my refund. I requested refund, not store credit. Instead of receiving my full refund, I received $38-something to original payment and then finally received a gift certificate for the remaining $100-plus. The gift certificate came with a one-year expiration date, as well. I've been a Land's End customer for a LONG time. I've bought jeans, down coats, vests, jackets, squall jackets/coats (for myself and my mother and mother-in-law), swimwear, slippers, boots, gloves, hats, Serious Sweats, dresses, and the list goes on. However, that gift certificate really ticked me off. I'll be ordering from Land's End only when absolutely necessary in the future. You can see in the attached screenshot of the Happy Returns receipt that I was supposed to receive the total $142-something as a REFUND, not a gift certificate.
