This website is the BEST for shopping on line. Reviews of the products are right with the clothing giving a real life review of fit, quality and wearability. Clothing is quality material and classic design. Returns are super easy.
I just placed my very first order with Landsend.com with the understanding there was a very liberal "free" returns policy. I had to return the coat I had ordered and waited for the refund. After several emails, I was finally given the refund and told that it wasn't totally refunded, so it basically cost me $27.01 to try on a coat. No more online clothing orders for me!
There clothing fits weird and they take FOREVER to process a return. After all that, they won't even put it back on my debit card, but instead send me a gift card for the return balance, which I don't want because they suck.
I ordered a large tank top tee in May. In June when we're we're going to a wedding out of town I packed it in case I needed it. I left it in the clear bag. It was huge. I called and they said it was a tunic I did not order a tunic. I was told I could return it for Like almost $7. I complained and they said they would sent a prepaid postal label. I got it today. It's August 27 th. I got the tape and paper to send it back and at the end of the instructions it said I would pay $9 to return it. Ridiculous. Please pass the word around so customers pay attention to the cost of delivery and return from Lands Ends. I have bought from them for years. I hardly ever returned. My question to Lands End is what happen to this company? I requested not to receive any more catalogs or ads from them. Won't be long for them going down the tubes.
Their return process is ridiculous. They have so many hoops to dive thru you may as well give up and donate the merchandise to a worthy cause. You get emails from one person who is supposed to send you a return from AND yet another person who is supposed to send you the prepaid return label. News flash: The guy fails to attach the return form to his email and you NEVER hear from the guy who is supposed to send the prepaid label. In this computer era this is laughably referred to as "Customer Service". I'm over and done with Landsend.
I got a catalog, again, that clearly (and boastfully) advertises jeans with free custom hemming up to 36" (big & tall up to 38"). I have been through this 'misprint' for the last several years with Landsend. Well they got me again. I call to order and am told they only hem up to 34". Same as last time. Very frustrating. I told the nice lady on the phone to please stop sending me catalogs. We'll see.
Very poorly operated company and a horrible catalog
It has taken over a month to deliver my order. There is no communication from this company via email to updated people on the status of their orders. On top of this lying to people at check out estimating shipping time to be 13days is ridiculous. On top of this last time we ordered, we used PayPal, which is an option on their site. When our order hadn't come we were told that those payment systems don't process and they never get those orders. WHAT? THEN WHY HAVE IT AS AN OPTION?
Communication is key in any business and it seems lands end lacks any skill in that area. I am pretty sure if schools didn't require people to order from them they would go out of business because their product is great but not enough for all the chaos in the business end. We can get the same quality on Amazon.
You are a million dollar business, GET IT TOGETHER.
The quality of Lands End is excellent. Far better quality the LL Bean. The folks that work the Lands End departments within Sears have a true love and interest in Lands End. The merchandise is so wonderful that it woulgreat if they had their own seperate brick and mortar stores. Would love that is Massachusetts!
I would add photos but out of two separate orders, one was returned immediately, the 2nd order never showed up despite their faulty tracking system!
If you want to waste countless hours and dollars then go ahead.
Land's End uses their brand advantage in the school uniforms market to do poor job - both in clothes quality and speed. If you have a choice, I would go elsewhere.
Spoke to two different people about a delayed order. This order was delayed 4 times.
Both customer service reps were rude and unhelpful.
Won't be purchasing from here again.
I purchased a Christmas gift for my wife. After 11 days from shipping it hasn't arrived and from the tracking appears to be lost. Land's End uses "Mail Innovations" (AKA SURE POST) which is a joint venture between UPS and USPS. UPS picks up and then hands off to USPS. This creates opportunities for mistakes. I contacted Land's End and asked how long I would have to wait for a refund. Their answer was "sorry" Sorry is indeed what this once good company has become
I bought several pajama bottoms and later decided to but the matching tops, but they were out of stock. I made the comment on their website that I loved them but wish I had bought them at the same time. Several weeks later I got a call from a lady with Lands End in Wisconsin wanting to know if I still wanted the tops because if I did she would search their stores to see if they had any in stock elsewhere. I told her absolutely, yes, and thanked her. A couple of weeks later one of the matching tops was delivered to me. I have NEVER had that kind of customer service before in my life. I've always knows they were easy to deal with on returns or exchanges, but THIS WAS WAY OVER THE TOP. Thank you Lands End lady wherever you are!
I paid $29 extra for expedited shipping for delivery in 4 days. It did not even ship by the 4th day. Very disappointed. On the 4th day, the day I needed it by, since it hadn't shipped yet, I called to cancel the order and was told it could not be canceled and I'd have to call back the next day to cancel it. Very disappointed.
I recently placed an order during one of their 50% off sales. I was charged the discounted amount.
Tell me why I receive ANOTHER charge for the discounted amount. I call in and ask what's going on and they claim that happens all the time and that I'll be charged A THIRD TIME when the items ship.
What in the world? So I'm basically paying 3 times for 1 order and I have to just wait and see if and when it drops off. They claim it should drop off when the order ships, but then they wouldn't even tell me when the order would ship.
Absolutely fraudulent! So I basically have to wait and see and then file a fraud charge with my bank should they not remove the charges. I have NEVER dealt with this and I shop online REGULARLY through many other similar retailers. Complete scam company that I will NEVER use again.
Landsend clothes aren't usually what I wear on a day to day basis, but I bought a couple things there when I lived in Seattle. The good thing is that the clothes last a loooong time. Very durable, well-made stuff!
Order 2 sweaters 1 month ago. They still have not shipped and are in stock. The deal was at 40% off...they probably want me to cancel so they can sell at full retail price.
Occasionally I find lunch bags for kids or sale clothing items, but when clothes do not work out I end up giving them away rather than returning them due to the cost of returns.
If say a site has great customer service, it is half the journey to success. I bought some clothes for my nephew and had a very pleasant experience with Land's End.
I've made many purchases from Lands End on an annual basis. This year I bought two vests that are shocking for their poor quality. It is a shame they are no longer as reliable as they used to be.
Answer: They charged me shipping on my order. (I no longer patronize them because they charge for shipping returns, even if the product is deficient.)
Answer: Beware of Lands End's current "free" shipping scam. We get emails almost daily from Lands End offering discounts on certain items or even any item they carry and the have also been offering "free" shipping. Of course almost every online shopping site is offering free shipping right now. The difference between all other sites/sellers free shipping is that they will either give it to UPS, FedEX, or the USPS and those people make the actual delivery to your door in a few days. I'm assuming it is an effort to save money Lands End "free" ships packages via UPS BUT only to your closest major postal facility and drops all the "free" shipments there. It is then up to the USPS to sort everything and deliver the package to your home. This can result in a delay of from several days to a week or more. Our latest purchase was dropped at the sorting facility on 12/5. From there it needed to be sorted and delivered to the mail facility that handles home mail deliveries. Bottom line is that we didn't get the delivery until 12/9. That is after leaving the Lands End warehouse on! 2/2. I get shipments from LL Bean or Amazon purchases delivered in 2-3 days. The response we got after questioning Lands End was that if we want deliveries in 2-3 days we would have to pay for shipping. Considering the delivery times I get from other sellers offering free shipping, I think Lands End is misleading customer's expectations of "free" shipping. Come on Lands End, I want that big brown truck to bring my packages to my front door and want it to be REALLY free or you have lost a long time customer.
Answer: I don;t know about knit pants but I have had the Starfish for a couple of years now and they don't become baggy--just a little but they bounce right back after washing. I was very happy with mine, went to get a new pair and ended up with a pair I cannot wear. Dismayed to find that returns are too complicated (expensive, too) so will be getting out the sewing machine to make them fit (they are huge in the thigh). I think the problem lies with having ordered Tall. The old pants are just Regular. Be careful about sizing!
Answer: Several years ago i ordered 5 bridesmaid dresses from LE. I had to send two back for a different size. The replacement dresses were a slightly different shade of the color. Then had to send all 5 dtesses back to get all same color. What a mess!
