Fairy tale castle set in beautiful grounds with friendly staff in a lovely area of Northumberland.
We were greeted with two lattes, two glasses of Bellini and two tasty scones with clotted cream and jam in the exquisite, massive, comfortable lounge on the first floor.
We stayed in the castle, my friend being disabled was taken upstairs in the service lift, with me and the luggage.
Room 2 was out of this world with a kingsize four poster, an exquisite massive window the ceiling must have been 18 feet and the drapes around the bed and the curtains were a gorgeous shade of blue.
The bathroom was built into an arch and the actual shower which was all singing and dancing was also fitted into a large area with another stone arch absolutely amazing.
We didn't have dinner but saw the menu which looked superb and we will eat next time.
After a great nights sleep we had a delicious breakfast in the formal dining room.
The staff were friendly and the service excellent.
Tasty porridge, fresh fruit juice and tomato juice, full breakfast or whatever you wanted.
Hot toast and lovely lattes.
Very impressed with the whole experience and look forward to visiting again.
Thank you to Anton and Andrew for looking after us
Tip for consumers:
All the rooms would be lovely more pricey in the actual castle but the rooms in the grounds are good sized with nice baths with showers in them.
