Tried using this site. Job remained pending for 48 hours... Once we tried to cancel they would only refund a "portion" of our money. Impossible to reach the company. They don't respond to emails. There's no phone number. Complete rip off... Use someone local and do your own research. Don't use these bogus websites.

It's a great concept, and it works! We have a fairly large size lawn and traditional contractors would easily charge twice as much (all for the wrong reasons... travel time, gas, peak period etc). Free market efficiencies at their best.

I'm a lady that's still learning about home improvement and repairs, so figured I'd hire an expert instead of figuring it out on my own. Used Lawn Mowing Online service, found a contractor and everything went as advertised. Would use again!

I placed an order and today I came home from work and magically my yard had been mowed! They did a fantastic job too!

I think those leaving bad reviews here are simply expecting too much for their money. Keep it simple, don't be afraid to tip online and PROFIT!

24. I placed a order and quickly cancelled and was charged a $15 fee, what was the fee for?
A: Cancellation fees are very common in service industry type businesses. Doctors, dentists, hair salons, moving companies and many other businesses charge fees if a appointment is cancelled within a certain time frame of when the service is being provided. So we adopted the same polices that those businesses do. If a person schedules services and cancels within 2 business days of the order being placed LawnMowingOnline reserves the right to charge a $15 fee. The policy has worked exactly as expected, more orders are getting accepted and mowed and fewer orders are being cancelled. Avoiding this fee is simple, just do not cancel within 2 business days of scheduling service. For example, if you order May 1st for mowing on May 2nd, do not cancel on May 1st, May 2nd (1 day) or May 3rd (2 days). The order can be cancelled on May 4th (3 days since May 1st) and there will be no fee. Of course by then the order will likely be accepted by a contractor and already mowed so there would no longer be any reason to cancel.

To make sure every customer knows about the cancellation fee it is listed in 2 places. It is listed on the Terms of Service page that all customers agree to before placing an order and the cancellation fee is explained in bold text and underlined on the cancellation page that all customers must fill out to cancel an order.

Great experience! Very easy to book, excellent price point, and high quality service. The contractor that came out did a wonderful job. Super thorough. Our yard looks great. I tipped $10, but he deserved more! Will definitely use again and will recommend to friends.

Great site, I've always been very happy with the service I received. I used them all last summer and plan to do so again this year. I like the flexibility of scheduling; my grass might need cutting but if I don't have the funds right now, I can put it off till I do. I hope they stay in business a long time!

Amazing company, super affordable and professional. There's nothing better than being able to sit back and relax, and still have a perfect lawn at the end of the day. I highly recommend their services to everyone, they are worth every penny.

Very impressive! The guy who mowed our lawn did a better job than any other service we've paid for, and you can't beat $19. The best part was how quickly the contractor came. We booked the night before, and our yard was done by the next afternoon. I don't think we'll find a better value elsewhere, so we're definitely going to use this service again.

We needed our lawn taken care of because we were having a party that weekend and I got the best deal there was around! After ordering from LawnMowingOnline a worker actually showed up on our scheduled time, he was very respectful and he did such a great job that I had to personally tip him for a being so hardworking. I definitely would be using them again!

Impeccable service! I would definitely advocate this company to friends and family. They were professional, agile, and thorough. I was able to have someone out the day after booking an appointment. I'd give them 10 stars, if it was allowed!

I’ve used this service a few times now, and it’s just really a convenient and easy way to have a simple job done. The online ordering, low price, and constant updates on my service are great. The contractors are always very professional, and perhaps the best part is that they don’t require a contract or minimum amount of visits. I highly recommend them.

This was a wonderful and convenient service! The site calculated my lot size by entering my address- yay, no math!
Contractor came the next day and took before and after pictures that were available to me online when he was finished. Since pictures are taken, I feel confident that if I ever have an issue with a contractor it can be reviewed and resolved. So far, no issues!

I loved this site/service and will use again.

Did an awful job... uneven, mess everywhere, no blowing at all. Didn't do anything I specified in their check boxes (I paid an extra $15 with tip for extras). I guess you get what you paid for. A $19 cut looks like someone just ran over the yard in about 10 minutes.

The contractor came and mowed my lawn, taming the jungle and discovering a couple of hidden surprises I was unaware of. All I can say is thank you so much. The yard looked great and I was able to remove the obstacles.
I love being able to call when I need the yard mowed instead of having someone show up every week or two despite drought conditions. Though so far this year it hasn't stopped raining enough to have the yard mowed regularly. Feast or famine as the saying goes. Which brings me to the fact that no mowing is done if it has rained recently. Brilliant! Why? Because last year someone from a weekly service rutted my yard by mowing right after a heavy rain. Common sense is so appreciated.

I can't believe I didn't know about this service before. I booked my lawn mowing service and didn't have to worry about a thing. I was out doing errands, and when I got home, he had already been there and left. We will definitely be using them again. You can't beat the price - even neighborhood kids want more than they charge!

I have successfully used this service and would consider it again. However, I am dubious of all these reviews because they use the same language "contractor" which says to me that they are trying very hard to be sure that we know that this company is in the scheduling business and that they are not responsible for the quality or results. Secondly, they keep mentioning a tip in a specific dollar amount. Hardly subtle.

You said you have successfully used this service and would consider it again, so why do you think positive reviews are "dubious"? The positive reviews are all real, but some of the negative reviews are fake, left by contractors that were removed for taking orders but not finishing them.

My yard looks like it was done professionally. He took his time to ensure a job well done and was rewarded with an additional tip online after completing the work. I love that I order pick the date and can do it all online and pay through Paypal will definitely use this company again.

Okay so, a friend of mine recommended this service and I was ecstatic. I placed my order this Wednesday for the following day (yesterday) and the job was accepted. Well yesterday came and went with no lawn mowed or response from the contractor. I messaged them again this afternoon and was told he will be there within the hour (around 4pm). He showed up at 6:30 and when he disappeared I looked out to see he missed several areas that still needed weed eating, the grass was left uneven in areas & there is still grass all over my sidewalk and porch! I also sent a message to support this morning letting them know the situation. I just received a message from them saying "work it out with the contractor, looks like they have been sending you messages today". I don't know about you, but I found this to be callous and felt like they don't want to be bothered. What type of business does this?

Work it out with the contractor. That means exactly what it says. If you bothered to wait a few minutes before running all over the internet complaining you would have seen the contractor already replied: I'm sorry for that when he gets in I'll. Make sure he's back there in the morning to correct the problem. Don't worry we'll fix it.

Summer is hot and it rains. Your grass will grow and then you have to cut it back or watch your yard disappear under a carpet of green. Why go through the hassles. Let Lawn Mowing Online handle it all, so you can enjoy your yard instead of spending time on its upkeep. They're fast, dependable, and inexpensive. So why not contact them online and have them do it all, as they are probably have a business office where you live right now.

Tip for consumers:
Call early in the week to avoid the rush on weekends.

What a great idea this is - but really poor execution and dependability. I loved that you could schedule on line and pay through PayPal. But overall this service is average at best. It stared out ok (probably first 3 mows) and then just got unpredictable and sloppy. They either didn't show up at all (and I always tip) or they showed up a week in advance of when you scheduled the mow. You can't depend on it and can never get the service on a schedule. I have contacted customer service more than once, with no response. They always want you to deal with the mowers when in fact, it is their company and customer service should always be a top priority.

Tip for consumers:
Probably ok for a one-time job. And they did refund my money when I had to cancel due to no-show.

I used this service on and off for a couple of years and was usually very pleased with the price and quality of service. However, I will never use them again because I ordered lawn service two weeks ago and included a generous tip. I waited 3 days and the job was still not accepted by a contractor. So, I added more money to the already generous tip. A few days later, the job was still not accepted and I received an email to add yet another tip to encourage a contractor to accept the job. Also, while having to wait several days for a contractor to accept the job, my yard was becoming an eyesore and the grass was getting high so it was going to cost even more money. I also felt the tips that I had already added were more than generous and I didn't want to end up having to pay for a very expensive lawn service by having to keep adding tips! I cancelled my order and have still not received my refund.

Tip for consumers:
The comment left by LawnMowersOnline Rep is untrue!! I added a $7 tip when I placed the order, then added another $3 tip a couple of days later when the job was not yet accepted.. then added yet ANOTHER $3 tip which was a total of $13 for a tip!! And the job was still not accepted after waiting a few more days so I cancelled because I was sent an email encouraging me to add more money so that a contractor would accept the job! I will NOT spend a fortune in tips just to get my grass mowed!

Customer placed an order and it was not taken. After a day she added a $3 tip. Contractors in the area still did not think the $3 tip was enough so the order was still not taken. She then filed a cancellation and refund request that takes 5 to 7 days. Rather than wait for the refund the customer filed a complaint with Paypal. Paypal concluded the investigation and released the payment back to LawnMowingOnline.com. Customer filed a new cancellation request and is waiting the 5 to 7 days for the refund.

LawnMowingOnline has no way to force people to mow the property. This is why the tipping feature was added, at the request of customers, because they liked the convenience of ordering online and the prices but if a contractor didn't take the order what could they do? There was no way to encourage someone to mow. So the tipping feature was added so customers could add tips to encourage someone to take the order and mow. And it's been incredibly popular, thousands of dollars in just tips have been added to orders. One customer added a small tip every few hours until the order was accepted. A bit extreme but the lawn was mowed. They are independent service providers, LawnMowingOnline.com can not force them to mow, the website only makes the orders available to them and they decide what orders they want to accept, and usually it's money motivated, they decide completely based upon how much the order pays, but they also know they are competing with other contractors so it does not take much to have an order taken. Every time a tip is added the order is sent back out to the contractors with the new amount. They are NOT told a tip was added, only the new total, because if it said a tip was added then some contractors might wait until tips were added to orders before accepting. Instead all they see is the total payment amount and the order details. Multiple tips can be added if one tip is not enough.

She has ordered at least a dozen times and has added tips in the past since the price on our website is not enough for the contractors in her area, not sure why this time she decided not to compensate the contractors enough to have the lawn mowed.
