I've just booked a holiday through le boat on the Caledonian canal, a four day cruise through loch Ness ect on the 28. 6. 21 It said on the ad book this boat for £620 so we did got an email saying paid in full nothing to pay.
20 min later got another email saying welcome get ready for your trip and then a part saying mandatory fees, then they tell you there's a minimum deposit of £1850 locked to your credit card if you don't buy the £68 crash waiver which is unrefundable. If you do buy the crash waiver then you still have to give them at least £205 for deposit which you might get back if no damages so that's £893. Then there's the £150 deposit for engine running costs, fuel wear and tear and running the generator for electric, the more you use the more you pay depending on which boat you hire and how much electric you use.
So it's not £620 it's more like £1000 to get in the boat and you might and I mean might get something back.
According to trip advisor customers who booked with this company I'm in for a terrible time and can expect nothing but trouble from the state of their fleet to being held at base due breakdowns ect and no one cares and refunds are fought all the way. Full insurance and fuel costs should be shown at the time of booking not after when there's no way to cancel.
So please don't do what I've just done and jump at a so called deal without reading reviews about this company or you will be sorry.
Tip for consumers:
Make sure you get the total price for the trip including insurance, fuel, electric, damages and how much you could end up paying if the worse happens.
