The most horrible customer support and the longest wait times I have ever experienced. I purchased an LLC package with all the bells and whistles to include expedited processing. After two months of waiting, broken promises from customer support ("It will be finished today, we are so sorry for the wait..."), many unanswered questions, no contact, hours on the phone and in chat rooms, and a refusal to refund services not rendered, I cannot recommend LegalZoom.

I paid to have legalzoom help me with my Adult Name change. They sent me an organized packet full of papers that seemed to get me going in the right direction. When I arrived at the DC Court, they said that not a single one of the papers legalzoom sent me was valid. The information they have for DC is more than a year outdated. Not a week or a month, more than a year! What a scam. Isn't it their job at legalzoom to be on top of what forms have changed, whats 'legal', whats required...
I wouldn't trust a thing they say.

I placed my order three weeks ago and I still have nothing to show for it. Even worse, I have gotten several emails and robocalls from LegalZoom telling me that they were waiting for me to sign paperwork so they could process my order. Each time I contacted service because I had not received the documents. Each time customer service assured me that the calls and emails were premature and that my documents were still in drafting. Each time they assured me that I would get the documents either that day or the next business day. I'm still waiting. I will never use LZ again.

I had chosen to go with the pricier option ($199.99) believing I would be getting personal guidance for a somewhat intricate Will I was trying to draft. What I got was - "Answer the online questions..." and BAM out comes a cookie cutter Will, in no way shape or form even approaching 10% of my true Will's desires. I think a computer program takes your on-line answers and just prints the Will - no "Lawyer" caring or GUIDING you a final product directly reflecting your heart's desires. Go see a REAL, in-the-flesh Lawyer for your Will

Called to cancel my subscription $160/mo had the PLLC name registered Jan 2022...signed up for the tax services...never actually used the LLC or services. Was told on their recorded line, that I would be refunded for the payments made so far this year, since I didn't us them. GREAT! I'm happier I was just looking to cancel. 2 transfers later I'm being told "you are not allowed to cancel until January 2024, you have to complete ANOTHER full year of payments." On a LLC that isn't even ACTIVE! Never would I advise to use them, they created one account for me over a year ago, which my new accountant made and registered a LLC for me for $100...LEGALZOOM IS THE WORST. Stealing Money, take the win. You got paid to do a simple task one-time. Now you are greedy this is a shameful way to operate. I will go out of my way now to ensure no one I know uses LEGALZOOM for anything.

Legal Zoom denied that I gave them 850 dollars and couldnot find a record of my company name that was taken by another company. I was awarded 850 dollars by jamaica civil court on Sutphin blvd after a forced inquest.

I order a LLC as a first order and it was relatively simple and painless therefore I ordered a professional corporation package and it was the worse decision I could ever make. All the reps are confused and useless. They make false promises and add cost towards the end. More importantly they waste so much time because it seems like they are clueless as to what they are doing. Initially it cost me a little less than $600 then 2 weeks later they said I needed to pay $110 for consent. I replied is this the first PC they created because I answered all the questions correctly before giving me a quote. Now a month later they are putting my order on hold for the 5th time because now they need my to fill out a form and it must be mailed (not faxed or emailed). I don't think I will ever get my incorporation. STAY AWAY FROM LEGALZOOM you rather pay a little more and go to an accountant or lawyer because everyone at Legalzoom has no idea what they are doing.

Legal zoom stole $299 from me in the month of October 2023 from a debit card that had expired in April 2023. After several calls they told me that they were going to return the money in 3 to 5 days, but it couldn't be done because the card expired., I called again and they told me that they were going to send it to me by mail, more than 10 days passed and nothing, I called again and they told me that there is no refund pending that the refunds policy is before 30 days after payment, which indicates that I claimed on the same day that the money was stolen from my card and they told me it is 30 days from the first time I made the transaction in 2021, Is this serious, thieves, I do not recommend to anyone, what they do is collect money and they do nothing for you, they are useless, they are garbage.

I have tried several times to cancel my monthly reoccurring charge for membership on their website.
I put my cancelation info in and click confirm. Each time the circle spins and no cancelation occurs.
The phone hours are PT, I live ET zone and the 3 times I have attempted to cancel this membership their office is closed.
Good luck if you forget to cancel your trial membership and get on the reoccurring plan

I processed an LLC through Legalzoom and they processed it with the incorrect business name. Then they charged me $150 to make the name right. Then they notified me of upcoming compliance issues and had me complete part of the compliance package which I had previous paid for and charged me more to complete it. Then after completing the compliance package and paying more fees, they prompted me through email to complete the same process as if I hadn't done it already. Then to top things off they have stalled the process of submitting the name change with a document I'm supposed to sign which I don't have access to and they claim to have emailed to me, which they didn't. If you have the rest of your life to wait and an infinite amount of money, definitely waste it on this company. They'll screw it up royally for an extra charge.

I ordered to register my trademark with Legal zoom. They didn't file my application correctly. They didn't include the translation of the trade mark. Due to the incorrect filing my application is pending and I have to submit translation and pay additional $50 fee to the USPTO. When I called Legal zoom to resolve this issue I was told that "they are not lowers and not responsible for the CORRECT filing of the application. They can't guarantee that they collected all necessary information from the client to file an application correctly."
So, they are charging a fee to provide service which they don't know how to provide. Stay away and go to professionals!

They are charging my credit card without my knowledge or any service. I have took service once butafter then they charged my card twice and i am disputing that charge. Do not give them your credit card information.

The company had my information for weeks and still has yet to submit my trademark to USPTO. The wait times are long and when I was finally was able to speak to someone. He (some arrogant young man) made it his purpose to tell me that he couldn't help me. He said that I called the processing department... well isn't that what is holding the submission up... the processing department! Horrible! This company may be good for incorporations but the processing department lacks the professionalism to handle trademark submissions.

Over a year ago I paid for my LLC with LegalZoom. The operator left off part of my LLC's name. I call back and I speak to a manager, a manager was not available I never received a call back from a manager I kept calling they told me that I only can get a call back from a manager. I called two weeks ago and the manager was supposed to call me back never received a call back the young lady stated that they tried to email me and they called but never left a voicemail. I never got an email or call. The young lady hung up in my face. I was told that I have to repay to get the name corrected.

I requested an LLC registration
Then was told they could not process it unless I contacted an attorney
However they debited my credit card in excess of R******* and and continue to do so each month. I am still waiting for a refund.

There must be alternatives to LegalZoom. My 1st dba with them took over 6 months to register. I needed a 2nd dba and took my chances. LegalZoom took my money without blinking but won't complete my dba because they have "a question" but refuse to answer emails or their phone. See the screenshot of me waiting almost TWO HOURS *after* their computer called me back to "avoid wait time."

So, I am about to contact my credit card company and dispute the charge like I would with a third world country or Irreputable vendor such as Legal Zoom is.

My advice -- either DO IT YOURSELF, or find another service to use.

Legal Zoom was fine 10 years ago but today it is bloated, unprofessional and evidently fraudulent.

Do not use Legal Zoom. They are overpriced and have terrible customer service. Most disturbingly is that they raised the price of a product by $100 without any notice and then had 3 hour wait times to speak with a representative. While other companies are working to help small businesses during COVID, Legal Zoom is raising their prices and then dodging calls to cancel the overpriced rip off service. I spent 4 hours trying to reach them to cancel the product that was literally DOUBLED in price and am still out of luck. Please please please do NOT use Legal Zoom.

I used this company to register my business and get me my original documents. I so regret it! It was way too expensive and all they do now is charge me every year just to tell me I gotta get my report in that's it! I paid close to 1k to start up when I could of done it myself for $100 yep I was stupid! Now I cancelled with them as my agent and tell them I got it myself and they said okay you won't be charged and boom! They hit me with another $270 or something like that! Yep it's a complete waste of money unless you like to pay out the $#*! for harassing emails and texts. Save your money and do it yourself! Don't use these overpriced leeches. Guess I have to give a star to leave a review. Y'all should add a negative star option as well cuz they belong deeeep in the negative

I used legal zoom and wasn't happy with what they provided.So I thought I had canceled it. Checked my credit card statement was billed for another month. Started searching for a number to talk to a live person. Wasn't any number that I could find that gave me anything but a recording or if I knew an extension number but didn't give any type of a index. Finally just typed in 4 number and got a live person, told him my situation and he said he would transfer me to someone that could help. Next thing I know I was transfer right back to there main number with nothing but recordings. I can see that they do all they can to stop you from canceling.

I ordered the economy package for an LLC for my company. I paid over $700 in the end, which is way over the amount I should have paid or would have paid somewhere else. When I received my documents. Some were missing, and I had to get them re-ordered. They charged me for my state filling of the Certificate of Organization, when I'm in the military and in Pennsylvania the fee is exempt for military veterans. My Member Certificates were blank in which I wasn't aware that for the economy package they don't take the extra time to fill them out which is ridiculous! Especially for how much the package cost in the end. I am very disappointed that legal zoom took advantage of me and my rights as a service member by not honorably accounting for the benefits I earned and should have been exempt for, as well as there horrible customer and company service as a whole.

This Company is a rip off. I filed my DBA it took 6 weeks for a simple DBA then they filed in in the wrong county and would not correct it unless I paid additional money. They are unethical and I do not recommend them.

I purchased a DBA for $159 for Legalzoom. After 4 months of failing to complete the job (with issues from their side!), I asked for a refund & they told me I had passed the 60 day window. I completed the DBA paperwork on my own in 3 hours. They are APSOLUTE THEIVES. This process has costed me upwards of 8 hours in addition to the $159. Horrible business.

I am very disappointed. I was never aware that I was being charged monthly until I saw one today while I was checking my CC. What is so unfair is I never received email that I was being charged monthly, no receipt, no text messages or any type of notification that I am being charged for a subscription which makes you think they're operating that way on purpose so unsuspecting people can be charged more :( They were recurring charges for 7 months and they refunded me for only 3 months, which is so unfair because like I said, I didn't get any receipt for those charges every month so I wasn't aware at all. I just started my small business, I have no income yet so it was really a pain in the pocket and my heart because it was a big amount for me too. Well, anyway I hope they can do better.

Usually they say you get what you're paid for but I guess I got that more. It's shady that when someone spends 4 to 600 or more out of their pocket to get an LLC done on what some have said is the best way I have found that it's not. Going through all of the paperwork and then calling when I had a question and being told I can't give you advice so I'm paying $600 to get no help? I do have to give them some credit they did refund me for the Alamara (whatever the name of that 3rd party extra is) the lady made me feel stupid for asking questions. Upon speaking with the last time I had a question it's not worth what you pay! I went to my state office and got things squared away with them in 30 minutes vs the hours of calls and time on hold for questions noone can help you with. When I spoke with someone I thought maybe it was me...another convo later I confirmed I'm not...get yourselves right...customer service needs retraining and attitude adjustents

That they over charge for something I can do myself for 75% less cost

I used LegalZoom to set up an LLC for our new business. We wanted to get things up and running quickly so I paid extra (a LOT extra) for their "express" service. This was supposed to ensure that our LLC would be completely done in about 4 days. Those 4 days came and went so I contacted them and was put on hold forever with some horrible hold music playing that gave me a headache. When someone finally answered, it was obvious they were working from home because I could hear kids screaming in the background and kept having to ask the agent to repeat herself. All she could tell me was that it "should be done soon" and that she would get more information and contact me by phone or email. I never got either. This continued for over 2 months before I finally got word that the LLC was completed,... or so it seemed. There was apparently more that needed to be done on my end. When logging into my account, one of the items said that it was incomplete and said "action needed", but didn't specify what that action was. It just said to contact them. However every time I've contact them about it, I get the runaround telling me that someone will look into it and get back to me soon. As of this writing, it still hasn't been resolved. I also have noticed repeated charges to my credit card from LegalZoom for services I didn't ask for. They are an absolute nightmare to deal with.

I used legal zoom to establish my business. I did my research on names and EXPECTED legal zoom to do the same thing. Well, legal zoom incorporated my business and I received a cease and desist letter almost a year later, stating their business had the same name and to stop using mine. They had trademarked it. I contacted legal zoom and told them what happened and a rep said ‘well, if they trademarked it you have to change it.' I was able to come up with another name and legal zoom told me I would have to be financially responsible to change all forms by myself, because they couldn't do it! WHAT! I told them it was their fault because they were supposed to do a search as well and the person trademarked it before mine was incorporated and they said they couldn't help me; I was on my own. A waste of nearly $400 dollars and I have to do everything myself!
