The most horrible customer support and the longest wait times I have ever experienced. I purchased an LLC package with all the bells and whistles to include expedited processing. After two months of waiting, broken promises from customer support ("It will be finished today, we are so sorry for the wait..."), many unanswered questions, no contact, hours on the phone and in chat rooms, and a refusal to refund services not rendered, I cannot recommend LegalZoom.

I used LegalZoom one time to get power of attorney over my dying father and LegalZoom Continued to charge my card monthly for some bogus Advantage Plus membership that I never signed up for. It took me a while to realize I was being charged. When I called to get a refund I was told they would refund half of the money. If you use this company for anything at all beware of auto charges on your credit card for things you did not sign up for.

They've been raising their prices for Registered Agent service for the past 2 or 3 years now. I finally got around to finding a new Registered Agent. Now that I'm trying to cancel the service through LegalZoom, I'm unable to do so. When I log into their website, they're trying to force me to agree to the very order I'm trying to cancel. Calling them, at least on the weekend, results in getting no one to actually talk to.

LegalZoom charges 3-4 times more $ than most other Registered Agents. After telling LegalZoom I was not renewing my subscription in December 2021, getting a new Registered Agent in February, I receive an email from them on June 17th, it was time to renew. I emailed back, saying I have a new Agent. LegalZoom sent me an email saying they would not be renewing my subscription. On the very same day, LegalZoom charged my credit card $249 for yearly fee. I canceled my credit card and disputed this transaction. I have their email saying they were removing me from subscription, my yearly fee was due back in December 2021. This company will attempt fraud, imagine how many times they charge on people's credit cards, hoping no one sees or disputes the charge. A immoral company, stay away!

Absolutely pathetic experience. I would give 0.1 stars if I could.
Been waiting 4 weeks with no communication. And after dozens of emails they finally tell me I need to send in additional information. But wait. I need to send another email to find out what that information is.
And then to top it off I received a welcome email (I had received the welcome email 4 weeks prior to that).

We sold our business at the beginning of 2022. No longer needing a registered agent, I went to LegalZoom to cancel the service. They refused to do so without the name of a new agent. So I sent the paperwork to the state of Florida, plus $25 fee and sent the paperwork to Legalzoom as well naming myself as new registered agent. Upon uploading the paperwork I get a screen that says "Account Canceled" I changed our account to manual payments and cancelled auto renew. I even added a one time use credit card number that I afterwards cancelled so it could not be charged.

4 months later. Charged 299 for auto renewal on card they should no longer have. Check out the picture attached. Manual payments evidently means they will manually take your money from your account without your permission.

The most skilled employees are the slick salesmen, not the lawyers. They bait-and-switch to sell you the most expensive products, offer little justifications other than "this is required by fed/state law". "Registered Agent" is perfect example of hooking you into recurring payments. They set themselves up with the state to receive correspondence on your business. If you want to cancel the recurring charge, you have to file the revised paperwork with the state, and they won't help you, saying, "we're not familiar with the laws in all 50 states". When forced to explain legal terms, they are condescending, and stingy with information. Their Website advertises "Setup your business in 7 to 10 days" It actually took 6 weeks, because they misfiled papers, failed to contact us when papers were approved, and blamed it on delays in the state/fed government.

I gave them $295, then $683. It's been 4 months with the back in forth. I have been waiting for my refund because I dont like their business and it's been taking a while just to start my business so I cancelled my order and been. Everytime I call legalzoom I am on hold for a very long time. They keep giving me a store credit. I dont want a store credit give me my money back please.

I was extremely disappointed that Legalzoom didn't mention anything about the publishing requirements i NYC after I had a long conversation with them about the different costs per state. Customer service was useless thereafter. There are cheaper options like registering the LLC ones self

Sydney (the LegalZoom rep) dispatched things with calm, a thorough-going professionalism, and made the entire experience for this newbie Treasurer a pleasure. I asked for Legal Zoom to form a corporation for me, paid the price to have the corporation filing expedited and they failed to file the correct paperwork. When I pointed out that the name on the paperwork was incorrect, they failed to fix it in a reasonable time, leading to having a lapse in being paid for work i'd completed as I needed the work to go into the corporation account which i couldn't create until after I had the EIN number. As of today, I still do not have a corporation with an EIN number and am unable to accept payment because of their error (the order was placed on 1/9 and it is 2/5). I have called their customer service multiple times and they are very "sympathetic" but don't actually do anything to fix the issue. I also emailed several times and still have not had my issue addressed. Please avoid this company and use someone else or a real attorney, after all their fees and "gotchas" you actually pay just as much to go with Legalzoom as you would with a real attorney and they don't do the job right. Very unhappy with this whole ordeal and would never recommend this company to anyone.

Trying to decide what to do in regards to LegalZoom. These reviews tell much the same story as my experience. The customer service is poor at best for something as simple as trying to get information. Not sure why they are in business if customer service is so distasteful to them. Smoke n' mirrors.

This company is a complete and utter joke. I had them file for a trademark application for me. I paid extra because I thought they were experienced and knew what they were doing. Got a letter back from the USPTO to clarify something. I contacted LegalZoom after countless emails and calls. They told me they were not attorney's that I should contact a trademark attorney to assist me. They completely and utterly dropped the ball and left me out to dry. This is probably after numerous minutes of hold time.

I would advise you find someone else to help you with your Trademark application. LegalZoom has no legal staff nor do they have any sort of expertise with filing Trademark applications. To make things worse you can never find anyone to answer the phone. IMHO this is one of the worst companies ever.

I've been unimpressed with LegalZoom's process. I am attempting to incorporate in PA, my home state. It's taken over two months and I still am not incorporated! There have been multiple delays on the LZ side with no communication back to me. Example issue: they initially asked me to describe my business, so I said "engineering consulting". Then I heard nothing for a week. When I checked on my status it said "delayed." So I called LZ and they said that PA regulates the use of the word "engineering" and had rejected my application. LZ couldn't have told that to me at the time?! Same thing happened with my business name: I suggested a preferred and two alternates. A week or two went by and when I checked the LZ website it said my application was delayed. Again I called and was told "sorry, all three names were taken." LZ couldn't check that sooner and notify me?

Legalzoom are aware of what they are doing, but when it comes to making updates or changes to something, it seems like the expertise stops. I've had them change the address several times because they cannot get it right (although spelled out on phone and repeated back to me, I've emailed to them as well). They've called to state that the specimen wasn't sufficient, I submitted a new specimen and it was approved. When they submitted the trademark for approval, in both my trademark cases, they attached what they specifically had said was not sufficient (Both orders). This is a poor way of handling customer service. Legalzoom needs to understand that picking up the phone and having a person there doesn't really mean that customer service is good.

I had a simple straight forward question on signing a trademark. I thought the lady on the phone was very rude and condescending. If you ask me, that's probably the worst tone for a customer service agent to have. I would give zero star if this review was strictly for customer service that I just experienced.

I found it their lawyer team is great. However, for their customer representative team, it depends on your luck. I would say 50% of the time, you got a very nice and knowledgable one. Another 50% don't know what they are doing and won't try to help. I would pay if you want a good advice from their attorney. If you want some answers about all the documents and other things. You probably have to call two or three times to make sure you go the right answer. The customer representative claims that there is no way for them to call us back if the line is dropped. So, it is a good excuse for them to hang up on you if they don't want to speak with you anymore.

I used Legal Zoom to write my own will. It's pretty cheap and easy and then I paid a real attorney to look at it to make sure it was okay. He made some minor changes but thought it was pretty decent. This is the Legal Zoom link http://www.legalzoom.com/legal-wills/wills-overview.html

I used the live chat service to resolve an issue I had regarding a price increase in my registered agent subscription. I mentioned that I would not be able to keep the service due to the over 200% price increase. My customer service rep, whose screen name was "Lauren", helped me to keep my old rate and answered any and all questions I had. She was very kind in tone and very patient.

To LegalZoom: Because of your fantastic customer service representative you have kept a customer that was about to shop for another service. I later asked for her full name. They have no remorse in not telling you what paperwork you would need. Then they charge you a monthly fee without telling you. Believe me, they sneak it in there. After I wasted $375. On something that was way more than I needed, it was that $14.95 charge that showed up in my acct 3 weeks later that prompted me to write this review. Not happy. Look for other options. You will be glad you did.
