The most horrible customer support and the longest wait times I have ever experienced. I purchased an LLC package with all the bells and whistles to include expedited processing. After two months of waiting, broken promises from customer support ("It will be finished today, we are so sorry for the wait..."), many unanswered questions, no contact, hours on the phone and in chat rooms, and a refusal to refund services not rendered, I cannot recommend LegalZoom.

On 6/10/16, I purchased a service that was suppose to have taken 10 days. From the start there was poor communication, the sales representative did not fully understand the product being sold, and did not explain things like, the completion time frame possibly being 8 weeks, because it is a PLLC and that my license was needed. It was also not explained that things like emails take 36 hours to appear in their system, and faxing takes less time. I changed my business address and it took days and lots of long calls, because customer service made errors on not putting the correct information in, and in not pressing buttons to send the request over. My order update reads that my state is holding up the process, but in reality, still today, my order hasn't even been submitted to the state. About three days ago, I was offered a $210 reduction, but that doesn't cover all the time spent and aggregation, I have gone through trying to get LZ to process my work correctly and quickly, and not to mention, the money I will be losing because I can't open my business any time soon.

I asked to speak to a supervisor above Kyle and was told by customer service, that it would take about three days to speak with someone, and delay my order. I have never heard of such a thing. This company provides a service that can have a serious impact on their consumer, and it is scary to see how it operates, with people not verifying that information is correct, and customer service not understanding fully what is needed for the service, and what the last rep did on your order. I truly regret putting my PLLC in Legal Zoom's hands, and don't know when I will have this process completed, because even when the state gives a reply, it takes Legal Zoom so long to do even simple things, like except a fax, so I wonder how long for receiving mail and completing the order.

God forbid they make a mistake... A PROVEN MISTAKE, where they failed to file my annual report for 2022 without my knowledge, where I have an email showing it was submitted, only to find out when I receive a call that not only did they not file my 2022 report, they did not file my 2023 report as stated. I found out by the firm that I WAS contracted with that my business had been dissolved by my state. So then I call them to find out why this was the case and they literally told me that neither of the documents were filed due to the fact that I had not "answered any autodialer calls they placed" so that I could approve the documents to "verify their accuracy." Isn't that something? They told me that I "refused" calls from a computer-dialed number to verify the information contained in documents they had already sent me an email about, stating that the docs had been sent? Seriously? HOW IS ONE TO VERIFY INFORMATION CONTAINED WITHIN DOCUMENTS THROUGH A TELEPHONE CALL? GOD FORBID YOU ACTUALLY CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE OR ANY OTHER PERSON IN THIS USELESS DAMN COMPANY TO TRY AND GET ANSWERS OR TO GET SOME KIND OF RESOLUTION... THEY DO NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT ANYTHING A PERSON HAS TO SAY AND MAKE ALL THE DAMN EXCUSES IN THE WORLD ABOUT WHY THEY CAN'T HELP, OR PLACE YOU ON HOLD THEN NEVER RETURN... WASH RINSE REPEAT... F'G IDIOTS!

They have a "30-day" refund policy and by the time you realize you've been screwed, they say they will not return your money... Atty General of NC has been notified.. As has BBB

I used Legalzoom to buy a flat last year and they dragged the process out for months longer than necessary, and cost me hundreds of pounds through total incompetence.

As a first time buyer, I received more help and assistance from the estate agents than my solicitor who didn't seem to know what she was doing. It was also extremely difficult to get into contact - nobody would answer the phone, emails simply go ignored, and if a message is left with someone else, it wouldn't be passed on.

Basic things weren't being done, or were done at the very end of the process instead of the start, adding months to the entire process. For instance, my solicitor didn't apply to close my Help to Buy ISA until the day before I was due to collect the keys, which luckily my bank was able to push through urgently as an extreme case.
Basic checks weren't done to statements and invoices which meant I reimbursed the seller £300 for no reason. These were things Legalzoom should have done on my behalf, and what I was paying them to do, but the service was completely shambolic and unprofessional. I was forwarded email chains from the seller's solicitors which seemed equally frustrated at the incompetence shown by Legalzoom.

A first time buyer moving into a vacant apartment took 5 months and this was entirely down to Legalzoom. Although they are one of the cheaper solicitors around, there's a very good reason, and I would never recommend this company to anybody.

Legalzoom have reported my review on other sites for being older than 12 months when this issue was not raised until August 2018 and does not absolve them of the fact that their outstanding incompetence cost me hundreds of pounds and added several months to the process.

If I could give no stars I would. They will just get your business and then lie straight to your face.

Tip for consumers:
I can't run my business since I'm not eligible when they clearly said yes. Then they blame me for apparently not researching when they had talked to their lawyers and said I was eligible. Just ridiculous don't waste your money or time here.

Just would like everyone to know that not only have I NOT received a phone call or an email from anyone from LegalZoom, like they clearly stated they would reach out to me in this review. I called the state and the Department of Education MYSELF, which i pay LegalZoom to do, to find out my paperwork was indeed APPROVED and SENT BACK TO LEGALZOOM on Feb. 9th 2018. I then call LegalZoom to inform of this and find out where my paperwork is. Well im sure you all can figure it out what happen next. MY PAPERWORK IS MISSING! Yup that's right, missing! LegalZoom was suppose to look into this and call me back... well like their usual selves, no phone call back and here I am March 6th 2018 called LegalZoom yet again myself and on the phone with yet another incompetent employee named Cindy they have there unable to transfer me to a manager and cant get this resolved because she knows nothing! This has been the biggest nightmare of my life, I cannot express this enough DO NOT EVER EVER EVER USE LEGALZOOM. I am so sick like I physically feel sick with this company everytimei see an add i want to vomit that these people make all this money and cant even handle simple task.

The sad part is I have emailed you guys and get nothing. Also to add to this entire thing I called the state MYSELF which I pay you guys to do for them to tell me they NEVER EVER EVER received my paperwork! I am so sick to my stomach with you guys. I can not even describe the amount of disgust i have for this company. I filed my S-corp paperwork on Jan 14th of 2018, on the 17th of January I was told my paperwork was delayed due to the state. I was also told it will take 25 business days to get my paperwork back. Well here I am 26 business days later and I was just told that the state told them I wont get an answer until early MAY! In this mist of all of this I spoke with nothing but in competent people like Crystal and Cindy who have no clue on how to do their job. Always looking to pass the buck, told I cant speak to a supervisor the same day was told I cant even get a call back the same day... WELL On Feb. 9th when i was suppose to get a call back from a manager, but was just informed today Feb. 21st by Cindy that the managers felt there was no need to call me because there is NOTHING they can do to help me. I not only paid LegalZoom GOLD membership I paid them EXTRA to just handle my paperwork so that I personally wouldn't have to go to the State Department of State myself to get everything approved. Should have saved myself the money because clearly LegalZoom only cares about the money and sees me as a alking ATM not a trying to be business owner that they are delaying my process and are handicaping me from making money under my business name. I mean not only can I not get my business account started or get a credit card for the company, I cant even order something as simple as business cards or even advertise. When I spoke with Jeremy Monday Feb. 19th, not only did he handle my call extremely professionally but he actually made me feel like he wanted to help. He put a request in for someone to find out whats going on with the state, he even used the words "your a gold member with us, It should not be taking this long"... he informed me that I will be receiving a call back... Which brings me to today Feb. 21st on the phone with Cindy WHO I HAD TO CALL BECAUSE NO ONE CALLED ME... She then informed me someone spoke to the state and was told my order is not due back until early MAY! Cindy is just as bad as Crystal neither one of them had any intentions on wanting to help the very irate and very upset customer. I have said numerous times I was unhappy, even told Cindy that the only person who seemed like they wanted to at least try to help me was Jeremy, once I told her I was in the process of writing a review guess what, Cindy all of a sudden figured out how to do her job with customer service and goes I am going to put a request for a manager to call you back (like the one I was suppose to get back on Feb. 9th) after being on hold for 26 mins just to fill out the request Cindy just informed me that I will receive a call back from management with the time frame of 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS. I honestly have never been so disgusted in my entire life, I want to vomit with how horrendous my experience has been with LegalZoom! I have absolutely nothing nice to say about the company just about the ONE AND ONLY guy that was helpful to me and treated me like a human being Jeremy. Will never ever recommend this company for any type of help or advice. They seriously the biggest incompetent company I have ever had to deal with.

Watch out after purchasing ANYTHING from Legalzoom. They'll start charging you every month for mysterious benefits that don't show up in your purchase history.

I used Legal Zoom to set up my LLC. I paid for the premium service and barely received the bare minimum service. You can file you own EIN online and get the same day. I spent three weeks trying to get my EIN number after they filed the S-4 form for me with the IRS. Every follow up call I made resulted in only that they filed the paperwork, it was out of their hands I just had to wait. The website advertises for the Express Gold package that I would be guaranteed discounted, expedited EIN. That is far from true! Applying for EIN online is free with the IRS. And expedited? I don't think so... Only after sending threatening emails, was I able to get the contact information for the IRS to verify the status of my EIN number. Why exactly did I pay LegalZoom to do this for me if they can't even follow up for me? Also, I didn't receive the contact information until I called legal zoom 3 times and sent 2 emails. Their "expedited' response was here is the number you can call yourself. I called the IRS and stayed on hold for minutes. The gentleman that took my call was very polite and apologetic to the fact the third party was not more helpful and suggested in the future if I need an EIN I could apply online for free. He provided me my EIN number instantly... Again, what was I paying legal zoom for? My dealings with them have not been very pleasant and would not recommend them to anyone.

A totally unrelated topic, I received an email from them yesterday that I had an important official notice that I needed to file my annual renewal with the Minnesota Secretary of State. I am in Texas and my LLC is set up in Texas. When questioned on this, they just said, Oh just disregard, it was sent by mistake. How am I going to expect this organization to advise me when filings are due when they can't send the correct information to the correct people. I asked for a refund, as I paid for the Express Gold and barely received the Economy Service. We will see if they admit to their mistakes and faults and provide the much deserved refund.

Customer service is a glorified call center where they will kindly tell you to take a hike. Open on weekends is a gimmick. Any help of value is on holiday. They sell you on automated download. However, they need "Ham" the first monkey to the moon to hit the button on their end to make it populate. He's not available on weekends, no supervisor is either 24 hour email turnaround, which really means Monday. To update an executer name i. E. add Jr on a name, on our Family trust and add a beneficiary will take 2-4 days. They will kindly laugh (literally) and tell you that your matter will be handled on Monday because no one is there, meanwhile what ever legal matter could be expired on Monday. Customer service has no concept that they are in the business of legal affairs and that time is of the Essence. They used to have immediate availability and still do. They are just making sure that you aren't making more than one doc. In our case we have the Estate Trust for 2. Absolutely, no need. What a waste of time and money. Not to mention the consequences of failure to meet my wife's visa document deadline. Even with 7 days preorder time. Seek else where that has immediate service and better customer service, self awareness of what legal needs encompass. Highly recommend if you have a month's notice and can afford to waste time on the phone with insincere courtesy just to get your documents right. Good luck collecting on any money back or $50,000.00 guarantee. BTW they claim free revision of documents for 1 year, then when you purchase it magically turns out to be 30 days. Remember, they have to push the button on the other side and it takes up to 4 days to do it, but can be done in 5 minutes if you call. Not on weekends. Oh and they aren't Attorneys. Imagine, an Attorney on staff 5 days a week to push a button for your protection and their's. Get REAL. Be Warned!

Avoid unless you can waste time. One month lead time at least. Don’t bother if you are on a schedule

I'm in awe of what's happened in my transaction with LegalZoom.

They Let me know i'd need to obtain consent to use the word "doctors" in my business name, but didnt explain from whom. That's half information, it's contextless. Consent from whom? To whom should i reach out? What applications do i need to submit? If Rug Doctors exist, Space Doctors can exist, so what's my next step?
That's when they DISAPPEARED. They never answered my question. It's been a Week. I never heard from them again.

After many days of silence passed, i said "wth, i paid for expedition, whats going on? Listen, If i CANT use doctors in the name, should i just file as "interior logic" and dba as space doctors?"
More DAYS of radio silence passed, no questions answeredc when suddenly i received a "congratulations" on the formation of "interior logic llc"

What the ever loving god? I never consented to that. I mentioned it in a question built into a contingency. A CONTINGENCY. "IF i cant file space doctors, SHOULD i file as interior logic and dba as space doctors." He MEVER REPLIED to my email, but obviously read it

Days have passed, since this asinine filing, this creation of a legal entity in my name without my consent, and still theres silence. Ive emailed ten times and called twice. The phone ppl said theyd escalate my case

I discovered a debit of $499 from my bank account from LegalZoom. When I called to verify what it was, it was for an annual Registration Agent, Compliance and something else for a business that was dissolved almost 5 years ago! The only service I ever had with them was the RA@ $159/year and this year they choose to add items and charge me $499? When I called them to discuss, they advised me that I need to call the State and have them removed as RA. When I called the State, they said that LegalZoom had to resign as RA of my dissolved business. When I called LZ back and requested that they resign as RA, they said they could not do that. Now correct me if I am wrong, isn't it MY choice as to who I want as RA and isn't it MY choice if I want to remove them? Not to mention, they are using a debit card that expired years ago and according to them, when I advised that they did not have my authorization to debit my bank account, their response was, we have the authority to access ANY account linked to that card! Really? Isn't that FRAUD? You do not have access to my account. I gave you permission to charge the previous card on file but it expired years ago so what gives you the right to wiggle your way into my account otherwise? They are holding my account hostage and I will pursue this legally if I have to. LZ - I DO NOT WANT YOU AS MY RA AND YOU DO NOT HAVE MY AUTHORIZATION TO DEBIT MY ACCOUNT FOR A SERVICE THAT I AM NOT APPROVING

I USED LEGAL ZOOM TO START MY COMPANY EVERYTHING WAS GREAT THEY WERE VERY HELPFULL IN TAKING MY MONEY BUT WHEN I DIDENT NEED THERE SERVICE ANYLONGER THEY REFUSED TO CANCEL MY SERVICE THEY WANTEED ME TO PAY A FEE TO CANCEL. TO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE A SCAM YOU WILL BE ROBBED. HORIBLE COMPANY!

This is the second time I have used legal zoom, and it will be the final time. The automated dialing robot you have is ridiculous. I received 7, yes SEVEN calls in 50 minutes. I was trying to have a conference call, but kept being interrupted by 7 calls in 50 minutes. Call, leave a message, I will call back. Also, when I answer, a robot then puts me on hold and asks me why I'm calling. Well, since I didn't call you in the first place, I have no idea why I'm calling. I'm then called by legal zoom to be placed on hold again, and given the option to be called back when it is my turn which starts the cycle over completely. I've spoken with 2 customer service reps. Andre was fairly nice, however he was abrupt and short. The second rep was extremely abrasive. I have nothing good to say at this point other than my paperwork was filed with the state. That's it. I'm so utterly annoyed by your phone call processes that I will block your 800 # from my phone once my order is filled. Today it was 7 incoming calls in 50 minutes and it was 7 in 49 minutes the other day, and when I answered, I was put on hold. I have NEVER dealt with any organization that schedules calls every 5-10 minutes. It is unacceptable and quite an interruption in my day. If there is enough of an issue for someone in customer service to need to speak with me, why is it too much trouble for a human being that is capable to solving the problem to pick up the phone and dial and leave a message if no one answers? I guess you're trying to streamline your workflow with complete disregard for your customer's time and work needs.

Update to my review 7/26/2016: Today I logged into my customer account to check my order status. There was a message that I needed to call customer service as there was a problem processing my EIN. I called customer service. I was on hold for 46 minutes before I was able to speak with someone. Once they verified my account, they then put my on hold again to read notes. I was then told they don't know why that error message is showing. It is only getting worse with every correspondence.

I called LegalZoom to purchase their "Trademark Package" for $599.00 on 11/08/2022. The very first step of the package included a phone call after payment on November 10th 2022 that LegalZoom set with me from 5:05 P.M. EST to 5:20 P.M. EST with Anna (Appointment ID: *******). I waited for hours and no phone call from LegalZoom per their scheduled time per their email. I called in at a later time that day to cancel my package because they literally did not follow through on their scheduled phone call which was the very first step of many in their "Trademark Package." So, I have been waiting on my refund (7-10 days) and nothing has posted to my credit card. Yesterday 11/30/2022 I get a phone call that lasted about 38 seconds from LegalZoom and I told the lady that I was waiting on my refund and she said that she was going to process it and the phone call ended. Today (12/01/2022) I called LegalZoom because there was again no refund on my Discover Card and LegalZoom told me that the call that I received yesterday on 11/30/2022 that lasted for 38 seconds was an attorney and therefore was considered a consultation and my $599.00 would not be refunded. I explained to LegalZoom that the phone call was NOT a consultation and they hung up on me. I called LegalZoom back and asked them to please provide me with my filing documentation and other documents that were supposed to be filed and a recording of the phone call and they could not provide either. LegalZoom literally charged me $599.00, did not follow their said said timeline, their said process and did not / has not provided me with anything at all. This is the largest fraud and/or scam I have ever seen. I want a full refund of $599.00 immediately,

Tip for consumers:
Stay far away from LegalZoom! They will literally take your money and disappear. Try calling for a refund, it will never happen. Money spent is money lost!

Poor customer service. All they want is to take every dollar they can from their customers. They provide little to no help.

I recently used LegalZoom to help me form an LLC. That was a mistake. The process started with multiple delays and I actually had a representative insinuate I was lying about sending in documentation when I screenshot the sent email to prove to them I had sent it in, twice! The next day, they acknowledged they received it. Off to a great start! I ended up having to call in multiple times to resolve issues, which wasted large parts of my day on the phone with them. The original representative up-sold me to their Express Gold package, and that was another mistake. Customer service was lacking and I could not believe they would insinuate I was lying about sending documentation in. Here we are two months later and I find out there was additional documentation I needed to submit to the state, which is costing another $525. I had asked one of the numerous representatives I spoke with on the phone about the process and they never informed me of further steps. I asked to have my fees refunded for their services and of course they are unwilling to do that. The representative who responded to my request said all the documentation was in the binder that was sent, which it wasn't, and additionally if they knew there were additional steps, why wouldn't they inform me when I was asking on the phone? I went to the Secretary of State's office yesterday to find out why my LLC was in default, which is how I ultimately became aware of all these issues. They informed me that this is quite common when using an online third party for these situations. The person filing for the LLC has access to all of the documentation and steps. The entire process is known before it even starts. LegalZoom sent me an incomplete LLC and did not clearly inform of all the necessary steps. If you are looking to form an LLC, check with your state's office first. They can give you all the paperwork and inform you of the process. I found out how simple it is to complete one of these too late. Save yourself money and go check with your state first. My request for the return of my fees seemed simple and clearly justified, but unfortunately they are not willing to honor it.

Check with your state first. It may be easier to do than you think.

They charge me for the agent. Which i clearly told them not to charge. Now to change it they charge even more.
