The most horrible customer support and the longest wait times I have ever experienced. I purchased an LLC package with all the bells and whistles to include expedited processing. After two months of waiting, broken promises from customer support ("It will be finished today, we are so sorry for the wait..."), many unanswered questions, no contact, hours on the phone and in chat rooms, and a refusal to refund services not rendered, I cannot recommend LegalZoom.

I would not recommend service; trying get a trademark is a hassle- after paying for conflict name search I created company and filed to find out while paying them extra and gong through the process that it was not done; there is no supervisors to discuss any issue, rude incompetent staff- I had t o pay law firm to restart/ continue process...staff will disconnect you when you tried to find supervisors to discuss issues...wait on the phone on the phone up to an hour...good luck with you time schedule and patience

We used them a few years ago to file a trademark. Of course since we are not lawyers we had a few question but they could never give us guidance or advice. Oh they didn't mind doing the transaction and taking a payment but we were completely on our own. To make a long story short the trademark was rejected and we spent a lot of money for really nothing. Our advise would be to avoid them and find an honest and recommended attorney that has trademark experience and can actually answer your many questions.

My name change paperwork contained duplicate pages, blank pages, and insufficient information on obtaining the required background check. The customer service rep was not helpful. Rather than helping me solve the problem, he just kept stating I could do whatever I wanted with the paperwork (i. E. make corrections myself, fill out blank pages myself, etc.). He did not have a copy of my paperwork to review along with me and did not seem to have any understanding of what it is the company he works for actually does. I ended up having to start from scratch on my own. Enormous waste of money.

This company will slap all kinds of "services" to your account without your knowledge or consent; then good luck trying to remove them and getting a refund! They will have you jumping through hoops, and claim it's their "protocol".
I really felt cheated and strong-armed. I will never do business with LegalZoom again, and I will make sure anyone I know won't either.

Horrible customer service and failed to do the job. They messed up my simple, uncontested divorce paperwork and I got the papers returned from the New York court almost a year later. LegalZoom still has not sent me corrected papers though I sent my forms to them and they were supposed to get them to me but it's been three weeks and my case is about to expire with the state of New York so I'd have to start over again. I am upset I paid them hundreds of dollars for nothing and a lot of wasted time waiting for my divorce. Terrible, rude and unhelpful customer service on top of everything else. Would never use again.

I would not use LegalZoom again. I dislike organizations that add services that you do not expressly request and you must OPT out/cancel it to stop billing. It preys on the likelihood of a user missing the little notes and circular references to said fees/services and not catching in time or at all. It seems so unethical and walking the edge of legit. I did not expect it from a company such as this. BUT greed knows no bounds. I do not even want Legal Zoom to finish the TradeMark concern I started. I do not trust them now.

I went through legal zoom to get divorced to find out i only paid 500.00 to get my packet typed out by their AI when I could have gone locally to get papers free of charge at my courthouse fill them out by hand and then just pay 200.00 to file locally. I found it to be very misleading to new divorcees, I've been waiting a year now to get divorced because of the hold up on money issues. Then after paying, the instructions instructed to just take filled out paperwork to courthouse where you can get embarrassed you got ripped off and then you are back at square one in this process.

I could give them zero stars if I could. The operating agreement they sent was out of date and had stipulations that do not apply to the state I live in. Run away these guys are awful and when you try to get help its joke.

I am so upset right now, at the end of everything on my receipt it stated I would get charged in monthly installments. I had no idea that there were extra annual fees costing me well over $600 and that this would be charged automatically to my card within the first month of purchasing my LLC. I am devastated because it is not something I budgeted for. I am a brand new business trying to do what's right and I feel so taken advantage of. Not to mention I waited for customer care for over an hour and half.

I was on hold today for over 3 hours in total. Hung up on once and had answer other calls on the other. Legal Zoom uses trickery to give you a free service for 30 days, then they charge your card $548 for some Tax Prep Fee. They are going to return the charge but why would anyone want that in the first place. If you want long hold times and zero communication you've found the place.

Very poor management, never refer to anyone for this. Don't call them. It is absolutely scam; I had a very frustrating experience with this company. The website was very late in replying me. Absolutely pathetic customer service.

Purchased a Living Trust on 10/3/20, and unfortunately received terrible customer service to the point I cancelled my purchase on 10/16. LegalZoom claims to have a 100% satisfaction guarantee and offers a full refund within 60 days of purchase. I was informed by their personal services dept that I would be refunded everything except $50.00. They explained that there's a cancellation fee with a deed company within my living trust. I was never made aware of this or even spoke with anyone at a deed company. In fact, my trust application was never completed before I cancelled. Bottom line, LegalZoom has loop holes in their satisfaction guarantee. And they have terrible customer service, don't explain things up front, and if you need help they really don't care about you as a customer. So glad I never completed the Trust as they would have been a nightmare to deal with moving forward.

They give you a receipt and a small * next to one of the items, which most of us would miss. Then they keep deducting that amount off of your credit card. Beware people, you will not get a refund. Ridiculous, but that is how Legalzoom works!

I accidentally saw my bank statement and realized that they have been deducting 14.99$ every month! Called the customer care, but they wont refund my money

The most inept group of people I have ever dealt with in my life. Paid them for 5 years as my registered agent. When I didn't receive my biennial report paperwork I called them. Here we are 4 weeks later, absolutely no progress and my business will be dissolved in a week because of their laziness. I was absolutely guaranteed a return phone call today, by an escalation manager. No call, no email, nothing. Yes, the dissolution of my business doesn't even merit a response from them. Weeks of phone calls, hours spent on hold, an endless array of useless phone reps, absolutely no progress, no responses to emails. The level of customer service is staggeringly inept. Never, ever do business with them. I am so sorry that I am about to lose my business over this, I am crushed.

I paid legal zoom 159.00 to dissolve/close my business. They closed my business but continued to charge me to maintain it. I'm being charged 29.99 a month for business advantage pro renewal, 548.00 a year for essential compliance, tax preparation, advisory package renewal and 159.00 a year for registered agent renewal. There is no way for them to provide any of these services on a business that is closed/inactive, so I don't know why they're still drafting my account for these services. Also they charged these bogus fees to my expired BOA debit card. I'm not sure how BOA managed to let that happen. Don't use Legal Zoom! They over charge for everything and as often as they can. Don't let them do automatic bank drafts from your bank account. Don't do it; you'll be sorry. Now I have to try to work with them, the bank, the better business bureau and the state to get my money back. Ugh, this is just a wast of my time. I hate Legalzoom!

If I could give zero stars, I would. This company is simply built to take advantage of people that are inexperienced in starting a business. They blindly enroll you into a myriad of subscriptions that have zero value and then make it nearly impossible to cancel. The effort required to cancel is oftentimes not worth the $200 annual fee.

I wish the horrible customer service was just negligence instead of what it really is - a way to wear you out instead of trying to reach the right person (and I do mean person - NOT department) to simply cancel an annual subscription that you never needed in the first place.

Any other company would be better than legalzoom. I was tricked into signing up for the registered agent service and was charged without them telling me how much it would cost. Then I paid extra for rush delivery for a document that I received 2 weeks earlier by email. The customer service rep was rude and unhelpful. Never using them again. It cost me a total of over $1300, I would've paid less if I got it done with a lawyer.

Honestly all legal zoom cares about is getting your money, they completely lied and said they did a search on a trademark for the name and when i told them about letters of actions for over $1000 worth for the trademarks the guy on the phone laughed and said legal zoom did their part and their done with me now.
He had a very sarcastic tone and definitely unprofessional. I would not want this to happen to anyone so be careful dealing with them. They are a third party and most likely you could spend the same amount hiring a lawyer or someone else to do it.

Started an LLC and realized I should have shopped around a little better. They charge you for useless services and make it nearly impossible to cancel. Numerous calls for 3 months to cancel a $7.99 service. Use anybody but legalzoom

Sure, they can get you "registered" with the proper requirements... except you BETTER cancel the automatic TAX subscription (oh, you didn't know you signed up for that, did you?) within the first 60 days. Otherwise, they will continue to bill you $99/month for 12 months.

I would recommend going to an actual accountant to help setup the business. It takes longer, but it also supports small business.

I tried to use legalzoom to create an LLC. Upon creating an account, applying, paying, I was notified that it would take 2 to 3 weeks. After 3 weeks I called them to find out what was happening and was notified they needed more information. They have my phone number and email as evidenced by the numerous and unrelenting offers I started to receive from them almost daily BUT they never notified me that there was a problem. The representative also stated it would take at least another 20 business days so I cancelled my order and went with Swyft instead. Swyft was less expensive and they sent me an email explaining the process. I am sorry I even tried legalzoom it was a huge, costly, unprofessional waste of time.

I filed for what should be the easiest DBA process with Legalzoom and the process has been so painful. Address was incorrect on the first set of paperwork (which was partially my mistake) but it took them 10 precious day to realize and advise they needed additional proof/documents. It has been 4 weeks I have filed and I still havent received my documents to sign (not even sure how long the DBA will take after that). Every time you call, there is at least 5 to 10 min wait to speak with someone. You have to repeat the same story to every customer service rep. You speak with and then they place you on hold for another 5 to 10 minutes for nothing; they are never able to give you a clear solution to your issue or a clear order status update. Extremely frustrating!

On 11/9/2023 Legal Zoom charged me $299.00 for an annual subscription for registered agent services. On 11/11/2023 (2 days after the initial charge) I changed my registered agent and cancelled the Legal Zoom Subscription. Legal Zoom is no longer my registered agent and therefore unable to provide registered agent services. However, even though they are no longer providing me this service and I cancelled my subscription 2 days after the charge, they are unwilling to issue me a refund for a renewal on a yearly automatic subscription. I do not believe this is good business practice and is highly unfair to the consumer.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this company.

They are to put it mildly crooks. They sneak a bunch of reoccurring fees unless you are careful and monitor your accounts like a hawk they will milk you for everything they can. The fees don't appear right away it is only after two weeks that they start charging you. I shut my account down so they can no longer get more of my hard-earned money.

If you can help it, do not use this service.
I have been going on 2 months since I filed my LLC.
They lost my order once, forgot about it another time, hung up on me 2 times.
I wanted a simple LLC but they have been stringing me along for two months. They claimed that one of their representatives forgot to put the order through and assured me it would. That was a month ago and It still has not gone through. I have attempted to contact them and the wait time is sometimes well over an hour then they "mysteriously" hung up on me during the call. Horrible horrible horrible customer service!
