After four years of not communicating with LegalZoom they were extremely cooperative on getting my account recovered and up to date. When it came to federal law they were prompt to keep me updated on mandates and regulations. Very professional and well mannered business.
The most horrible customer support and the longest wait times I have ever experienced. I purchased an LLC package with all the bells and whistles to include expedited processing. After two months of waiting, broken promises from customer support ("It will be finished today, we are so sorry for the wait..."), many unanswered questions, no contact, hours on the phone and in chat rooms, and a refusal to refund services not rendered, I cannot recommend LegalZoom.
Worst decision i made they very unhelpful two different agents got an addittude qs if they where owners of the company and this lqst rep i del with sound high she said she didnt know several time what did i spend hundreds of $on?
Worst site ever! Don't do it! Long holds no one returns your calls. They constantly hang up on you. I had a hold on my account that I couldn't resolve because no one on their end fixed the problem. I am filing a dispute with my credit card company because these guys aren't even returning calls for that. Wasted a lot of my time and will NEVER go to them again
This business is HORRIBLE! I'm so regret to have them as my services. I paid for faster service when they claimed that it should only takes 10 business, I did not receive my package until 40 days after the 1st payment has been paid. Not only that, I closed my account with them a year ago and they still charged to my account as of now. Totally SUCK services

If you want your business to be a success, do NOT use LegalZoom. They have been stealing from me for years and ignore my requests to end service. My only option now has been to notify my bank of their fraud and if I want to recoup my money I would have to take them to small claims court.

I just spoke to someone named Brandon from LegalZoom. He was extremely rude and not helpful. He raised his voice to me and when I asked to speak to a manager he said there wasn't one. I was trying to explain that the corporation I set up last year was never opened and is being closed (dissolved) by the state of CA. I was trying to get LegalZoom removed from agent of service. I informed him CA takes about 60 days to do so and wasn't going to pay $159 renewal. Instead of being helpful he was getting defensive.

I was transferred over and over and no one really tried to help me until I spoke with Africa and she was great. The guy that transferred me to her told me he wouldn't transfer me anymore and put me on hold and did anyway. I'm shocked that a company that makes so much money from people and really doesn't do much for them can't have better service.
This is the second time this happens... last year same thing. I dread calling legal zoom.

Do not pay for the Express Gold package believing it is a 7 to 10 day turnaround as stated on the LegalZoom website. It is now over 10 days past the 7 to 10 day window I paid extra for and am being told it will be another 7 to 10 days. Why pay $359 for the $149 service?

Sleazy... scammy... would not use them. You're better off finding an inexpensive attorney than spending money on documents that will not protect you. Tried them for a LLC with no help from them to help direct the prompts that create the documents that are to protect you. Plus all they try to do is prompt you with add on and unnecessary fees. Stay away!

Well I fired you guys once after I waited 6 hrs to be told you wouldn't do something simple. Was going to try again but not after scanning reviews (one third negative)... for really simple things, and looks like you're scamming clients too.

Our business is registered in over 15 states. For annual reporting and RA renewal it does no longer display the State name on the order nor the payment. The order number for the payment does not tie to the order number of any renewals. I now have to call to get that information. I was told to match the dates to tie it.
I completely understand the need to simplify. But this bare bone website does not give me the info needed. Will probably go elsewhere to get those done in the future.

I have had legalzoom services for three years and for the first year what ever was discussed or said was done. But after the first year literally ever time any change was made to any legal documents or a new service was purchased the changes where not done or the amount that was charged was completely different or the wrong service was changed and I have had to get on multiple calls with them to correct the situation while they play pass the hot potato from department to department even sometimes having my call transferred back to the original department that I started the call with. I would warn anyone that is considering to use their services to just not do it.
They screwed up my articles of organization so I am having trouble getting an LLC bank account and it took them twice as long as they said it would. If they need info to finish what you want they won't reach out to you so I had to check back constantly.

This company has been awful at literally every step! They have overcharged me on numerous occasions. All calls require at least an hour of your time and shuffling from one department to the next. They even charged a cancelled card (I canceled with B of A almost a year earlier) and they found a way to reopen my closed credit card and make charges to it due to phantom recurring fees that I expressly opted out of! Awful, awful, awful! I turned to a real accountant and lawyer for my current services and realized that Legalzoom overcharged, overcomplicates. And preys on entrepreneurs at their most vulnerable time (startup)!

I filed for a patent via Legal Zoom, and all I ever received were computer-generated questions. So I abandoned and got the refund... only to find Legal Zoom had re-charged my card the $1098. And they never answer the phone! I want my money back!

I started the trademark process with legalzoom. Seems like they only knew forms but no background information on the process itself. They made me add more and more classes and charged right away. Only AFTER the classes were defined and paid for, they want to charge me another 250$ for a logo search. I called customer service - the impolite rep on the phone tells me "we do not provide legal advice" (how ironic with that company name) and if I am not happy with the service provided I could go somewhere else. Now that really increased my confidence. When I asked him if I missed before that a logo search would be an extra 250 or if that just came up AFTER I paid for all classes, he said it wouldnt have made a difference anyways if they would have told me or not. Another confidence boost! Seems like they cannot give you any information about the actual process at all and jsut collect money for the stuff they talk you into! Sad, absolutely SAD!

You are better off searching for sample documents on the interenet. These are boiler plate, nothing special. From my experience using companies like this only creates problems when you have to hire an attorney to fix it and it cost more money to fix or the attorney can not fix it or worst yet you expose yourself to huge liability that could been avoided by hiring an Attorney in the first place.

And you are even threaten by the Account Manager when you try to confront with them for the root causes.

I order ( order # *******) to register my firm to be registered to in the state of California and paid over $300.00 for expedited service and send all the documents by over night service one of the certificate the staff member kept the certificate in wrong file. I spend over 5-6 hours over the phone and even after that the work was not done finally I have ask for refund after 5-6 weeks and I have to do myself all over again the process is only 3-4 days. I will never use them again

Had Legal zoom do the Standard LLC. Also had legal zoom do the standard initial reports, paid 394.95 confirmed on 8/27/15 for a report to be filed by the end of sept 2015. Paid for the services, they collected the state funds but failed to pay the state. I called legal zoom 30 days later since they sent me a reminder email. The legal zoom person on the phone verified I had paid the everything, and in order and legal zoom will be taking care of the filings. End result Legal Zoom did not pay the state fees they collected even though I paid them 30 days prior and they verified everything was all taken care of 30 days later. Talked to the state and I was fined 175.00 in late fees due to legal zoom not filing. Legal Zoom states they record calls I guess they won't listen to the calls when they are at fault. Ended up legal Zoom refunded my 394.00 on 10/19/2015 and I had to take care of it thru the state. Cannot recommended a service such as this to anyone.

What, only 1 consultation on a subject, as I had previously consulted various times on a matter seemed like a mid stream policy change, my policy requires of a vendor more of a under promise and over delivery, as this wasn't the case membership was terminated.

I hired Legal Zoom to be our registered agent. Our new renewal notice came, and I noticed they had nearly tripled the price from last year. I hired someone else for $99 (instead of $399 legalzoom was charging.) I notified them to cancel on Dec 11,2018, they refused. I notified them again on Dec 27, they again refused. I notified them in writing on Jan 1. My renewal date is supposed to be January 3, but they charged me 6 days early so they could rip me off for $400 by refusing to cancel my service. I have filed a BBB complaint against them since changing the due date was done deliberately to steal money from a customer instead of allowing the customer to cancel. Do not do business with these theives under any circumstance.
UPDATE- I have now been going round and round with them for over a month. They will not respond to emails at all.

My experience was NEGATIVE. I filled out the form with the required information and ordered a will and the printing. When I got the will and read it through, one of the paragraphs did not apply to my circumstances. It was not contemplated in the form I filled out beforehand. I asked for it to be changed and they would only send me am email copy of the corrected will. I lost the money for the printing on special paper and the shipping. They should have sent me the will and asked me to read it through before sending me the printed version. Time and bother would have been saved.

It's a Scam. Use an accountant to start your business instead. LegalZoom will charge you $299.00 per year for "Register Agent" fee and they will renew this every year so you will have to pay them every year of $299.00. In order to cancel this payment, you will have to call your state to change the "Register Agent" of your business and then call LegalZoom to cancel their service. If you use your accountant and register your own name as "Register Agent", you do not pay a dime every year as "Register Agent" for your business. It's a Scam. After they charged you the $299.00 as renewal one year after, they do not give you a refund after. You will have to call them and cancel this service BEFORE they charge you.

I've had nothing but stress, headaches and delays with Legal Zoom (LZ). Completely incompetent. I attempted to create a PLLC through LZ which required additional information of which I provided on multiple occasions. Awaiting my order to be processed, LZ contacted me requesting the same additional information again and again. This round and round continued for two months. They would state that they need additional information (same every time) and I would provide them with the same requested information each and every time for two months! At the time of this review, the order still isn't completed. Frustrating.
